"Trust me," Roka said coaxingly. He did not notice the uncomfortable position he left Chitsa in, as he deemed moments like those ordinary. And the nuzzle-- NUZZLE?! Roka snapped out of the embrace a few moments later, blinking in bewilderment and snorting in surprise. He could not believe himself - what did he do?! "Oh, excuse me," he said weakly, a pang of sadness engulfing his heart. If only that lasted longer, he thought, emotions conflicting within, but then again, what did I just do?! Make contact with another lifeform? How strange of myself. Then again, it was very comforting, the warmth that emitted from her body, and the..."Excuse my behavior," he added onto his earlier statement.

He stepped away from Chitsa, making sure there was enough distance between them so he wouldn't be tempted again to make contact with her like he did at first. She was out of reach, for now.

"So," he started hesitantly, "How have you been spending your days..? How is your keeper? And friends?" He hoped to get Chitsa's and his own mind off from the touching incident, as he was embarassed enough--quite an emotion for an emotionally inexperienced stallion.

Blinking, Chitsa wasn't quite sure what to say. She almost felt... light-headed, if you could call it that. Everything seemed so confusing for her right now, but she didn't want to go off and find out why she was feeling this way. She was usually a skittish soquili and didn't really 'touch' others. Earlier in her life, she had felt that a 'nuzzle' was a form of invasion of privacy, of her personal bubble. But it felt so nice...

As he stepped away from her, she couldn't help but frown to herself, but she didn't make any physical expression. It left a sort of... awkwardness between the two. She didn't want to feel that way...

Chitsa returned to the conversation, "Oh, nothing really... I haven't really talked to anybody lately. But oh well. I'm having fun, frolicking with the butterflies and such. My friends... I haven't seen them in so long. Everybody's off doing their own things now. I know a few of my friends have families..." She always seemed to have such a genuine smile on her face... "Keeper.. She's okay but she's been going off even more than usual... Rather odd." The mare shrugged sheepishly. "How about you?"

Roka attemped an earnest smile though his heart was somewhere else, as if it were tethered. "Oh?" he said, allowing Chitsa his entire attention. "Yes, quite a nice way to allot one's time to... I fly with the butterflies too, sometimes, but you must do it because you feel like you belong, huh?" he speculated, "Since you look similar amongst them." He chuckled, somewhat pleased at himself for his observation. Chitsa did look like a butterfly, but more beautiful than any butterfly he had ever encountered before. Although... she did not fly like one... yet.

"And friends," he continued, "I see everywhere I go--the sky, the grass, the wind on my back. They are all pretty much the same. But now, I guess I'm with you, and you're better company than all else." His sincere eyes turned to hers, a warm feeling building as he realized that although he spent numerous times with other friends and soquili, Chitsa was the only one whose presence he thoroughly enjoyed.

"And friends with family? What?" he asked, puzzled. "Like other soquili living in the same place with them--with a keeper? Is that what you mean?" Roka truly did not fully understand the concept of friends having families, having not been exposed to much of the boundaries extending beyond his own home. That, and no one he knew was making families, at least to his knowledge. "And my keepers are doing fine; they spend a lot more time with mares in our residence, so I rarely see them, but that is ideal to me." He grinned proudly. "I am lone most of the time, independent from them."

Chitsa continued to smile contently as she listened to him. Her voice flowed like sweet chocolate down a child's throat, warm and comforting. "I guess I do... I can't exactly fly with them but I follow them until they do fly away." The mare gave a slight nod and grinned slightly. She still couldn't fly... Was that something to be ashamed of? No... Chitsa would never be ashamed of herself, what a ridiculous thought. But she did yearn to fly someday... "It must be nice... to be able to fly."

Pushing the thought to a crevice of her mind, she wasn't sure how to reply to his compliment. She got so tongue-tied or something, which was a crazy thought especially for Chitsa. Not that she talked to much but she always seemed excited to say something. The mare blushed vividly, even against her dark indigo coat, it was slightly visible.

"Well... My friends now have families of their own. They find their own mates and children, so they're busy taking care of them..." Chitsa trailed off slightly but began again, "It's okay though. I get to see new soquili grow up and the cycle starts all over again."

"But that is what I meant by flying with them--following," Roka pointed out abruptly. "One need not fly to actually fly." He paused. Did that make sense? Ah, well. "It is nice," he pondered, "However, it would be even nicer if I had company." He smiled meekly and moved closer to Chitsa to nudge her with his head. "If I had someone like you flying beside me... that would be pleasant."

He stopped and shook his head lightly, something inside of himself frowning. Company? You don't enjoy company while flying, Roka. He snorted, the tango that his mind was doing making him completely oblivious to Chitsa's blush.

"Ah, how... interesting. They find their mates... and children? I wonder how that would work." He stared at the sky, pondering if he would ever be fond of the idea of starting a family--if he knew how, that is. "Is it fun to search for children? Maybe we could do that, one day... Though I've never done that before." He began to ramble, completely clueless.

Chitsa giggled at his somewhat odd statement, but she could see how that would work... kind of. "Oh? You'd want my company? I'd love to join you in the skies someday..." Maybe she should start... actually trying. She wasn't sure what held her back from flying, deep inside her heart, she knew that she could but... something was holding her back. She had no idea what though. Maybe she would learn what it was soon.

She paused and looked at him with innocent eyes. For an adult, she was as childish as it gets and this proved it.
"Hm. I'm not quite sure. One day I see her, the next day she has a rather large belly, and then there are baskets. It's quite curious..." Chitsa shrugged slightly. "Maybe. I don't know, I've never looked for children." She tilted her head and pondered the thought, that was odd. Nobody had ever really... explained to her about children and such. She always just assumed that they arrived on your doorstep... But she was starting to get the feeling that, that was not it.

By just imagining being able to fly with Chitsa, Roka lightened up. "Someday, perhaps. But for now, I am fine on the ground with you. It wouldn't matter if I was in the sky, under the earth, or within a deep cave--as long as you were with me, it would... how I say it, bring joy to me. It's been that way since I first met you," he said, leaving the last part mumbled yet still audible.

"Quite curious indeed," he echoed Chitsa's words. "I guess we'll both find out one day together, huh?" he joked, dismissing the thought almost completely after he had said it. The idea of bloated bellies and baskets, to Roka, was too unorthodox to dwell on.

"But for now, how about we go somewhere? Anything fun to do around here?" He looked around, as if something unordinary were going to jump out from a bush. Although the settings were unfamiliar, it still seemed almost like home to him - perhaps because Chitsa was present. "Near where I live, there's a wide river that leaps into a lake. My family members and some members of our herd like to do whatever around there, and sometimes I even see soquili I don't know. But I often avoid that place, because more often than not I run into ones I know."

At that, Roka dipped his head between a couple of bushes, ignoring the feeble scratches of the branches around him. And as soon as he ducked in, his head came out smoothly, and in his jaw was a shining sapphirine flower with an indigo tint.

He calmly went over to Chitsa and fixed it within her hair, hoping she wouldn't mind. "Almost as gorgeous as you," he said in an almost-whisper.

Chitsa chuckled and nodded, "Indeed we shall." She thought the idea of overstuffed bellies was also absurd, but she didn't dwell on the thought for too long. She was having too much fun talking with Roka to go slip away into her own thoughts now.

"Sure. I'd be glad to go anywhere, especially since it's with you..." Her voice trailed off once more. She was actually kinda surprised that she had said that, she usually didn't... express her emotions directly. Most of the time she was very discrete or completely silent about her emotions. She always displayed a happy-go-lucky mare on the outside but was that really the true Chitsa? For sure, that would be revealed in good time.

"Sounds beautiful...." Raising a brow slightly, she wondered what Roka was doing. When she saw the delicate little sapphire colored flower, her heart literally skipped a beat. Oh my. "It's so pretty!" The mare blushed vividly once more as he placed it in her mane. "Thank you..." She whispered back to him. Nobody had really ever given her anything so this was a new experience for her.

Roka smiled, flushing, but turned his head around from Chitsa so she could not get a glimpse of his head. Likewise, he was unable to see more of Chitsa after he gave her the flower. "You possibly know how to get around here more than me. Or shall we get lost?" He cocked his head at a small tree ahead. Everything around him looked the same, so if he were to wander, he would most definitely lose himself. However, he could find his way home, especially if he went to the skies, and getting lost would, on the other hand, be quite adventurous and exciting.

Bold, perhaps, it was of the stallion's whim to get lost. Though Roka found himself in positions like that often, he had an acute sense of where to go if he wished to return home. "So if we get lost, I can protect you," he said out loud while he was in his train of thought. "I mean--find the way home. Home, where safety is, where protection is," he corrected, catching his stray thought.

Giggling mischievously, "Well, I don't really think I know this place any better then you. Perhaps we could... know where we're going at first and then get lost." Hm... She wondered if that made any sense at all. "Oh? Protect me? Quite the gentleman tonight are you Roka?" The indigo mare couldn't help but smile sweetly at him, the light falling on her figure making her seem almost angelic-like. "So... I'll let you decide."

Unsure puzzlement hit Roka as he considered Chitsa's suggestion. "Know where we are going, and then get lost? That is... quite contradictory." He chuckled. "But you live here, do you not? And you still do not know the surroundings better than me? Oh, you are quaint, Chitsa, you are quaint."

He peered coyly at Chitsa for just a short moment, appreciating her glowing presence. And without a word, he swiftly circled Chitsa and dashed a bit aways from her, luring her into somewhat of a game of chase. His silver-streaked wings trailed after him, glinting mischieviously in the patches of sunlight that shone through the encompassing trees. "I may have not seen you fly, yet, Chitsa... but surely... surely you can run like the wind," he murmured to himself.

Cocking a childish brow at Chitsa, he circled around a tree beside him, tempting her, and turned his body away, though his gaze remained locked on the beautiful mare he called a friend.

Giggling childishly, Chitsa grinned with utmost excitement. She was spending her evening with a very... good friend, and nothing had gone wrong. It was like the heavens were smiling down upon her tonight. Usually, somehow, someway, something went wrong when Chitsa was happy. But that never took her down, she always knew something good would happen...

Tilting her head slightly as he ran away from her, the mare couldn't help but return the sly grin. Weaving past the ancient trees, Chitsa ran towards him, getting closer and closer.

Closing her eyes as she ran through a spot free from trees, Chitsa felt alive; the night wind fluttered through her mane and tail. Oh how wonderful it felt, this is what she lived for. Life tasted too good to be wasted.

Halting mid-gallop, Chitsa stuck her tongue at Roka and disappeared behind the tree closest to her.

A soothing calmness washed over Roka as he loped through and around the trees along with Chitsa. Although the foliage was numerous and quite dangerous if he were to blindedly run into it, he kept a heedless eye to it, purely concentrating on the mare. Nothing disturbed his line of vision of her, and nothing would, lest they contend with him. He could not keep his eyes off the small butterfly...

And the trees disappeared, and she was in plain view. Roka secretly glanced at Chitsa, savoring every second of his sight.

But the tune changed abruptly as they both stopped. Roka caught a sliver of tongue sticking out for a fraction of a second--after it disappeared, Chitsa seemed to, too. He snorted, half amused, and half displeased because of the present loss of contact. He began to canter towards where he had last seen her standing at, and casually looked around, realizing that the mare's pelt had almost seemed to blend into the night sky that was setting upon them. He then paced around near the area, eyes sharply scanning for a hint of shining blue, or spots of white.

"Where did she go?" Roka asked quietly to the gentle grass beneath him. He lowered his head to the ground for a few brief seconds, and got up, walking towards Chitsa's tree earnestly.

Chitsa sure felt like a dainty butterfly right now, fluttering through the woods, without a care in the world. The mare uttered a soft giggle from behind the tree as she heard his soothing voice. Right now, she just wanted to jump into the air and fly away with Roka, but she knew that, that was... not plausible at the moment. Or... was it?

The flutter couldn't help but giggle again, and then she jumped out from behind the tree, "Boo!" Another round of giggles filled the night air, as she bounced away from him once more, gazing teasingly back at the stallion. Oh why couldn't she fly?

The grass blades had told him to watch out for the sly one behind the tree, they did. Roka's smile anticipated the female wonder he was closing in on... and were those a few giggles he had heard? He snorted bemusedly as he continued stalking towards his goal, lowering himself to the ground with each step like a predator honing in on its prey.

But suddenly--a surprise! He took one instinctive step back as Chitsa jumped out at him, but nothing more--he was not one to react actively whenever something came out at him out of the blue. A grin formed on the stallion's mouth as Chitsa moved away. Oh, was it a real chase, now?

Roka galloped after the mare, bracing against the wind that flew past his body. The wind made him feel like soaring, though something held him back. If he were to fly, would Chitsa feel left out, somehow..? Wings shifted out of their position on his back, the desire to fly almost overwhelming the poor stallion now. But he restrained himself, and continued his pursuit.
