English or japanese?
See, i read the manga first, and the running joke was "Fughedaboudit!"
so hearing a southern accent just screws with my whole peception. scream

The dub sucks we all know that but you don't have to watch it. There's always the Japanese version and the manga witch you can make your own voices up to.

my gosh u people sound like they ignored everything azumanga in the dub, it seriously could've been far far far worse i agree with what someone else said about the accent and why it was texan. come on i figured that out without even looking to extras on the box set. i mean if u hate the accent, what do you think they should've done with it? i dont love the dub but it certainly wasnt the disaster some of you are making it to be

I didn't understand why Osaka had that accent in the american version. I think that she just could have spoken slow and that would have done better. I mean, the accent just confused me, they're in japan, why does she have that accent?

The first time i watched it it was in English, then inthe middle of the 1st episode my cousi says, "Alex, just watch it the way it's supposed to be watched." and then he turned it to Japanese, so much better n.n

ya i personally don't care. i prefer animes in English over Japanese unless the animes japanese voice is like totally kawaii

i watched in japanese
i never and will never watch anime with english voice actors...(except on TV...which i dont really watch them...)
cause they sounds weird and they doesnt match the charaters...
and they're all draging and stuff...
they just sounds weird...

i love Osaka as much as the next helpless air head and i can't get why they messed up her "butiful axcent" eather! you just can't mix up cultures like that and expect stuff to not get all screwed up! i mean they could atleast make her sound geto like in the manga. that would have made more sence. but they messed with Azumanga Daioh and that makes meme very sad. waaa! why satonist deamon? why?

who cares in all honesty? i don't think it really matters. it's the same in video games and movies and such...the actors are like hardly ever good enough to fit the part...

well it could be worse! I mean at least they didn't change most of the words and stuff like that! I mean I like the Japanese version better just like everyone else but I did watch the English version first so I like it just fine
