Nashota

~~Nashota's Dream~~

Nashota stood in the middle of an empty field. The sky was not cloudy, but neither was it blue. Instead, it was an unusual shade of white, a color she was unfamiliar with. The grass was greener than ever. Everthing seemed so surreal.
"Hello?" she asked. She heard the sound of her voice clearly and dominantly with a soft echo.
"Hello, Nashota," said a familiar voice.
Nashota turned around to find three Soquilis. One looked like her mother, one looked like her father and the third looked like her brother.
A tear rolled down her face as she felt reunited with her family once more.
KABOOM!
The three Soquilis all panicked and began to run off.
"Wait, don't go!" she screamed, beginning to cry. "Don't leave me again!"
KABOOM!
Nashota turned around to find what was making this noise. There was a human standing in the distance with an unknown object in his hand with smoke coming from the end of it.

~~~Present Day~~~
Nashota woke up screaming from her dream. This is the fourth time this week that she had had this dream. She snuck out of her teepee and picked up her bag. She decided she needed to go for a walk and visit her family' s graves in the field. Maybe that would relax her.
After a half an hour of wandering through the woods, she finally arrived at the graves. It was very dark outside, but the stars and the moon were bright. It was cold as the tree branches shook in the wind. A strong gust of wind blew by as Nashota heard a branch crack. Nashota jumped up and turned around and screamed.
There was a sudden flash of light and smoke as there was a loud sound. The flash of light revealed a man carrying that mysterious item from the dream. Nashota quickly ran away as fast as she could. If the chief found out about this, she knew that she would be penalized severely. She ran a different path towards her teepee, trying to create diversions or make sure that any followers would get lost. She made it back to her teepee safe and alone.
Inside the teepee she stood awake the whole night crying with a dagger in her hand.
Isi was fixing her teepee when a strange pungent smell entered the air. Fire? But it didnt smell the same. King was in the teepee with the other soquili, his mate and duaghter so she decided to go investigate. She quickly leaped over the low lying logs and other varrious obsticals.
Soon the teepee was out of site but she could see beyond the trees to wear a strange black smoke was rising. She didnt realise that she was being trailed by king of coarse who wanted to know why and where she was going, before he too could smell the fire.
She came upon a group of pale men and went as close to the ground as she possibly could. She studied them as much as she could, noticing the boxes and crates they have. Then she seen there soquili.
Strange beasts they looked for they had things upon there backs and straps along there faces, they certainly didnt look like a happy soquili to her. Soem where even being mounted and pulled around like a dog. She had seen natives do this but they didnt have contol over the horse like the white men did, they respected the horse and didnt pull them around like so .
King also became curious and went a little past her but did not dare to go any closer. He snorted and smelt the air, his ears pinned back at the site of the pale faced ones and e stomped the ground with his hoof. He watched them move around the crates and this made him nervous. He turned back to Isi and nosed her to leave, hoping that she would get the hint.
Kanati stood at his normal in the plain listening to the winds whip around him. On this day the winds and the lands seemed more feverish than normal. Some much so that he could not understand a word they were saying. He furowed his brow and closed his eyes concentrating on the words of the spirits final hearing one sentance.
"They are here((to be changed to cherokee translation soon))." His eyes burst open glowing as his heart raced. "The two leggers that are different from our two leggers, it that what you are saying?" The winds blew again a strange smoke was begaining to drift on the winds. Kanati coughed slightly trying not to choke on the strange smell."What is that?" his curiousity getting the best of him he galloped fowards following the smell towards the northwest of the plains where it met the water. He saw the two leggers in odd clothing.Kanati hid in the taller grasses as his eyes widened from the sorrowful cries of the land as it was being attacked by the pale two leggers. His mouth hung open as heard the loud sounds and the strange speech of the two leggers.
"When the spririts told me they would be different. My heart had worries, but this.....this is horrible." Kanati looked again and saw soquillis, but they wore strange clothes that helped to two leggers control there movements.
"What demons are these that the tides and very winds of the earth have brought upon us?" he snorted and started to go free the soquillis but stopped at the loud sound again.
"It will take more than I and I must learn more about these pale face demons before I act." Kanati snorted before racing home to inform others of what he had seen while making sure no one followed him."
A fine-featured little bay mare also stood on the plains where her herd often ran, ears alternating between swiveling to better catch these strange sounds and pinning back in displeasure. Her nostrils flared at the pungent, alien scents. As she saw Soquili, Princess' ears flicked forward, then laid back again as she saw that they not only allowed two-leggers near them, but wore strange and elaborate trappings of the kind that humans made, that seemed designed to help the humans stay on and direct the Soquili where the human wished. Switching her tail, she wheeled to race back to the herd. They needed to be warned.
Helaku also watched with trepidation, and when Princess bolted...he did too. He didn't want to watch these strange creatures by himself, not when they appeared to be able to coerce Soquili to bend to their will.
Samus from up in his tree saw a bunch of trees being cut down ver close by." wonder whats going on." he said to himself and hopped out of the tree. first he would go look for Dyami or Tori. he knew they would help investigate this. after a little while, he found Dyami and grinned. " ello my old friend, care to come investigate something?" motioning with his hands he started towards where he last saw the trees falling
Dyami eyed samus for a moment and snorted. " guess he wants me to follow." so he followed samus, to where he too heared strange noises.
Siryn Tigera was taking a stroll into the forest then she yelps as one tree almost fell on her before she narrows her gray eyes toward the approaching settlers. She flicks her long black braided hair over her shoulder and mutters something in native language, silently cursing the strangers for coming on land that doesn't even belonged to them. She spins around on her heels and deftly lept over the fallen tree darting deeper into the forest while her buckskin dress swishes around her legs. Breathing rythmically as she contiunes to flee from falling trees and the smell of fire reaches to her nose. "Oh no..." She says in small and frightened voice when she sees fire blossoming on her right. "No.. No.. why now?? why now" the panic settled inside her heart and stomach while she urges herself to run more faster, only thing on her mind is to warn anybody she run into.
Although the pair usually lived on the beach near the forest, they had travelled west due to their incredible sense of change. On a clouded morning, Artemis had woken to see a strange shape upon the seas. After waking Omaha, who was equally confused, they set about watching the shape, as it moved further along the lands, and eventually appeared to come to a stop in the far west.
Being inquisitive, Omaha had rode Artemis along the beach, the sandy stretch of land seemed to go on forever, until finally the wind brought about a new scent. The scent of smoke, the scent of burning wood, but no-one would usually start a fire so big it could be smelt from a distance. She could hear faint noises, not singing or chanting or the whinny of a horse, but loud irregular noises, clashing and scraping.
The noises grew louder as they continued to travel, large rumbling noises, bangs and screeches that were heavy on the ears. Artemis let out a frail whinny, but they pressed on in search of the mysterious arrival, led by curiousity, but full of apprehension.
Finally they saw a shape in the distance, the same shape they had seen riding the calm waters a few mornings ago. Dropping from her mare, Omaha led Artemis into some foliage, quietly, she requested the mare to stay, whilst she slid across the ground, keeping low. As they were slightly higher, on a peaked patch of green, they had an advantage over the settlers. Not only were they able to view all that was going on, but they were same from their gaze amoungst the thick green foliage.
As the sun was rising, the feeling of tension and trouble arisen in the air surrounding a village.. The very village where our dear girl, Tigerlily is staying. Darkness befalls on the village as smoke appears near it and making it literally unbreathable. Tension would only worsen once the sight of new pale stangers unlike any indian has ever seen before. Some are thinking it is demons... others spirits.. But.. what exactly are they?.......
Tigerly was sleeping in her teepee when Spira, the white tiger lion cub tackled her to get up. Spira whimpered and nudges her to get up before Tigerlily slowly awakes due to both the smoke and the screaming that was heard all around her. She looked at Spira and then towards the opening of her teepee. She felt Spira hiss and grabbed her molasses shoes to put them on. She says in her native language towards Spira, "What is going on, Spira? Is it something dangerous?" But her curiousity was rising up quickly and soon she was heading towards to where the smoke was coming, wanting to know what is going on. She crouched down behind a bush once she saw the pale-faces. She didn't know who or what was here. She had heard that pale-faces are people but she didn't know if that is true. "... I need to find more information about them." She moved towards another hiding spot, hoping to use her clothing and skin as camflouge.
There was something amiss, as he gazed out across the mountainside and towards the Plains he couldn't help but frown. What lay within his wake was something he had never seen before, dark clouds, but not those of thunder encircled the odd settlement and off the shores were the oddest shaped white clouds he had ever seen...
"What is this?" He breathed, his hazel eyes widening as he observed the settlement, his mind a mass of confusion for he lacked the ability to place whatever these things were - especially the loud, thunderous bangs that cased the very earth itself to shiver and caused Yei to quiver nervously.
"It's alright," He murmured soothingly to the Soquili as she nuzzled uncertainly at his arm, "I won't let them harm you." He assured her and shook his head, "I promise you that..."
Yei on the other hand, wasn't so sure as she fixed her azure blue eyes upon the odd clouds and the smoke above their heads. The scent of burning and the thick and unidentifiable odour clogged her lungs - it was uncomfortable and the noises that disrupted the piece and beauty of her home caused great discomfort - to her these creatures, these strangers were no more than barbarians who wanted to destroy her home!
What if they hurt all her friends...?
..chitterchitterchitter.. That's all she could hear, even while she was sleeping. Finally, Moema woke to the bothersome new squirrel neighbors. She looked to Streak who glanced outside with pleading look. "Alright, but only chase them off." With glee, Streak padded out side and the chittering became squirrely barks and, after a while, they stopped compleatly.
Moema headed down to the closest beach to wash up a little. She was almost there when she caught a wiff of a strange smoke. As she neared the beach, she saw off-white clouds sprouting from a large floating beast. Coming off it's back and on the ground were pale men who seemed to be building something. She watched them for a while. During these moments of silence, Streak come up next to her, with a small chunck of squirrel fuzz hanging onto her side, and hissed at the newcomers. "Hush, Streak. They can't be all that bad."
Lulu could be found sharpening her many knives of stone and bones. There was not much to do, nothing that suited her anyways. She paused a moment to wipe away a sweat bead from her forehead, and then resumed doing her work. After a few moments she started caughing without a reason. Lulu simply ignored the conditions and headed towards teh riverstream. A few minutes later, Lulu took out a ball of soaked herbs. She left them on top of a flat rock to dry, she would come for them in three days.
'The air feels so thick,' She thought looking at the darkened sky. 'Is She about to cry? No... it's something else,' Lulu shook her head, light brown hair swinging with the motion of her head, beads clicked together softly. She closed her eyes, deep in thought. 'That smell is horrible,' Suddenly she heard something that snapped her out of her little trance. What was that? Was the ground shaking? Lulu could heard people. Whatever were they doing to the far East?
(( Sorry for late response.. just finally got time to answer everyone smile ))
Chamain
Chamain stepped foward from the crowd and nodded. "Where are these pale face from? When shall we approach them?" She asked softly, but in a tone that can still be heard.
(( I hope I posted it in the right place. ))
Before she asked the questions:
She could smell that there were other people on the land, that wasn't their kind. Quickly gathering up her berries she had collected that day, she ran home, which was a cave in a mountain. In the cave, she could see that there were smoke, coming from the beach. Fire?! Here?! Chamain looked closely and found that it wasn't, it was some odd pale faced humans.
Then, she could see that they had soquilis also. Not knowing that those horses were different from soquilis, she saw that they had something on their back. A pale face just sat on one of the saddle horses, and started to ride around the area. The 12-year-old girl (Chamain) saw trees falling down, but she couldn't see how. The smoke was too thick. The scent was very different from what she normally would smell.
More horses with the thing on their back started appearing. Her eyes were wide opened, watching every thing that was happening. Not daring to blink once, frozen on the mountain cliff.
Awnae came out of the cave, she was just visiting her human. Noticing she was back so soon. Something seems to interest her... Following where Chamain was looking, she saw clearly too that there were some different colored skin humans on the land. How odd.. It looked very uncomfortable to see the horses with things on there back, and let the human sit on them too.
The chief nodded to Chamain's request for a question. "We must not approach them until we know their motives. I'm trying to formulate a plan of attack if we should need it. I know not where they are from"
Crowfoot
What was that? Crow perked up from under her tree, aware of a pungent smell. Rubbing the sleep from an afternoon nap out of her eyes, she looked around for the source of the awful smell. It smelled sort of like smoke..but it couldn't of been. Smoke only came from a fire, she was sure, and this didn't smell of burning wood or flesh..it smelled..horrible and unearthly. But where was it coming from? She stood up slowly, making sure she didn't hit her head on a branch. Instantly she noticed the dramatic amount of trees that were gone. Had there been a storm while she was asleep? No, there couldn't have been, she would have woken up.. But even if there had been, she reasoned, it couldn't have taken more then 3 or 4 trees down..but there was a dozen missing! All that was left was a skeletal stump.
She peered at the beach again, she thought she had seen something. Nah, it was probably just her imagination. She laughed, realizing how tense she had been. Suddenly there was a BOOM! Crow shreiked and jumped a few inches. What in soquili was that? Whatever it was.. though, she didn't want it near her. She jumped underneath her tree, hoping there might be some safety there.
(( Im a little confused as how we are rping, so please correct me If Im wrong.. sweatdrop ))
Tamiko-chan
Arle tilted her head slightly in confusion. Her new pal Maeve had gone off somewhere, probably exploring, and had left the two-legger on her own. She didn't much mind, though, for it had given her a chance to do a little exploring of her own. She had traveled through a forest, past a river, finally arriving somewhere near a village. There was a rather large group of people, and she couldn't help but overhear what was being said.
Some new strangers had arrived, supposedly pale-faced demons. The girl's eyes narrowed as she tightly gripped the bag she had been carrying. Invaders. They had come to steal the land.
No.. she forced herself to be calm. The intentions of these newcomers couldn't be determined simply because they were different. Moving forward towards the crowd, she began to think. The tribe must be terrified. Perhaps the new men were close and doing some such thing that scared the people.
Coming up to the crowd, she made her way through the people and up towards the front so that she could see the chief clearly. Then she spoke, clearly and loudly, so that she wouldn't be misunderstood.
"Has anyone counted their numbers? What are they doing? Have they posed any threat thus far? I say if they don't threaten us then we shouldn't view them as a threat. Be like the horses. Know your enemies. Know your friends. If you are unsure of the status of some being, find out." She paused. "Quick judgements only lead to disaster."
Tawadi grunted at the other questioner "My scouts tell me that they are small in number ..and we can easily overtake them if needed. We have proper weapons to do the job and we can make more. They haven't made any threatening advances yet. I agree, we must find out more about these pale faces!"
