Isn't the router the thing that you need when you get wireless? Mine's a white with blue lights, Netgear.

The other one is called a Modem, which everyone that has cable has. Mine's a black Motorola.

My parents were rarely on the internet either, which really bugged me. The modem should've been on MY desk, dammit! scream I dunno, I guess I was just too far from the router (or the equipment we have wasn't good enough, which I won't rule out, cause my step dad is a total cheap a**). My connection was pretty weak compared to theirs.

yeah, the router connects to the modem... then you can either connect a few computers to it using an ethernet cable... or you can have the router send out a wireless signal, which is picked up by the transciever connected to another computer... cool It's good to know I know what I'm talking about... whee
