[After the Arrival ~ May 28 2006]
[Excuse me mister...why are you scary?]

"Hello, Cirrus!" Hikari shouted from the foyer in announcement of her return to the humble household. Against the newly appointed Author's shoulder lay a spiky blond, Diae, peaceful and serene as he dozed against Hikari. The Tale squirmed uncomfortably against the pale yellow tome that had appeared with him in the study. Another sentimental companion was gripped in the infant’s hand. Eain, the doll that gave Hikari chills up and down her spine upon looking into its coal colored eyes.

Diae lifted his head in a tired fashion, sleep clouded optics gazed up at Hikari with a hint of contentment. The Tale showed no sign of confusion or worry upon entering the foreign building; he simply accepted it as it was. Diae let out a large yawn and brought the rag doll into his line of vision, as if inspecting its comfort in this new situation. Letting out a happy gurgle he brought the doll to his mouth, inhaling the sent of the surprisingly worn thread of his hair.

The sound of thundering footsteps brought Tale and Author out of their reveries as said Cirrus fumbled down the stairs, holding a mug of what smelled to be coffee. The older man held his gaze partially behind him as he continued his trek down the stairs.

" 'Kari, did you get What's-her-name-relative's 'well being' card," Cirrus glanced forward just in time to avoid a very well placed set of shoes, most likely the doing of the most mischievous little one of the house, Sie. Brown eyes snapped forward in the act of catching himself and avoid splashing hot coffee all over his sister-in-law and the baby…wait-, "Hikari! You got a kid?!"

Diae turned to his new uncle in bemusement, the loud noises omitted from him were not in the least bit comforting. Making a small noise, the Tale huddled into Hikari's grip, quite content on getting as far away from the man as possible.

"Cirrus, your scaring him!" Hikari hissed at her brother in an attempt to calm him. Regardless that he should be used to this type of situation. Hikari had already managed to bring home two other children, one with a knack for running through walls –quite literally mind you- and the other with a hobby of morphing harmless cooking pots into large piles of…ick and calling it science. Oh yes, an odd bunch this family was turning out to be. Cirrus stopped himself from retorting to the sharp comment and forced his features to soften upon the young child now cowering in Hikari's arms.

Cirrus bent to be at eye level with the Tale, flashing a yielding smile to the boy for comfort. He gave a short wave, reaching for the tome that was now wedged between Hikari and Diae, to which Diae clung to in protectiveness. Cirrus paused and took back his hand, looking into the face of such a frightened boy.

"Hey there, Little One," Cirrus said, coaxing Diae out of his brand new shell. The wide eyed and frightened look, it didn't sit well with Cirrus. The uncle held out his arms in invitation for the boy. A skeptical look both Author and Tale pushed Cirrus to pluck the child from Hikari's grip.

Diae shivered, squirming in Cirrus' grip, glowering and making noise of resistance. Cirrus tried to pull the boy close to him to show that he wasn't trying to hurt him and that he wasn't big bad and mean. The tale brought his rag doll around into the man’s face in attempts to get away.

Hikari flitted over, her hands snatching the tale away from her brother in attempts to calm him. The author patted the child's head in comfort and bounced him in her grip. The Tale simply sniffled and buried his head into Hikari's shoulder, clutching her shirt with one hand and Eain in the other.

"Shh. There, there now. Did Cirrus scare you, hun?" Hikari whispered companionably to Diae while shooting her brother a threatening glare. In response, Cirrus gawked in self pity, as though trying to prove his innocence by stabbing a finger towards the Tale. Hikari rolled her eyes and carried Diae over to the living room.

With a loud thump, Hikari collapsed into a nearby armchair. Diae, still curled in her arms, stopped shuddering and stilled. He lifted up his head and looked about the room with a new found interest.

The tale pointed a chubby finger at a pile of rags by the window. A curious face graced his features as he quirked an eyebrow in question.

"What's that?" He asked in a small voice. Hikari chuckled at the new found behavior. She pointed to the bucket next to the mishap rag pile.

"Cirrus was washing the windows before we came home," She explained thoughtfully, and when Diae furthered his curious look Hikari smiled and pat his head before pointing towards a nearby door in which Cirrus had escaped to, "Cirrus was that man."

"Oh," Diae's features turned dark at the memory of the big scary man grabbing him, "Ciru bad?"

The teen faltered at the question before shaking her head, "No, Cirrus is good. He's your Uncle Cirrus."

"Untle Ciru?" Diae questioned before the light of recognition dawned on his face. The child crawled off of Hikari and continued to run towards the room Hikari had pointed to.

"Where are you going Diae?" Hikari called after the boy, standing up to make sure the boy didn't fall down on the wooden floor. How the boy had run was beyond her, but she was sure this moment of growth would not last long.

"To 'polgize." The tale said before falling forwards, catching himself on the wall before making his slow and unbalanced way towards the Kitchen where Cirrus stood before the stove cooking something in a pot. Diae pitched forward as unused legs collapsed beneath him. With short arms extended Diae clung to Cirrus' legs in an attempt for a hug and a stabilizer.

" 'm sorry, Untle Ciru." The tale spoke, muffled into Cirrus' legs. He did this because he felt as though he had to, not because he wanted to. Blue eyes glazed over with a hint of fear and worry as the child attempted to scoot away now that he had gotten on better terms with the frightening and seemingly evil man. Hikari watched as Cirrus rolled his eyes before patting Diae’s head with a sense of fondness hidden beneath his gaze.

"Hey, Cirrus. I'm going to take Diae and set up a room for him," Hikari called from the door way, her gaze dropped to the small boy, "Sound good, Diae?"

Diae looked up and nodded with eagerness to be removed from Cirrus' presence before slipping to the floor. He reached for Hikari from his seat on the ground by Cirrus' feet. Cirrus nodded before continuing to stir.

Diae cuddled into Hikari's arms yet again, a sense of security falling on him once again.

[A family of wide horizons ~ May 28th 2006]

Hikari’s hands fluttered to her hips as she dropped the final object of grunt work into Diae's new room. The crib itself had been the hardest object to move, constantly bumming into walls and hitting corners, not to mention completely toppling a rack of very heavy martial arts books over onto the ground. More than one heavy tome of the Encyclopedia to Tae kwon-do had fallen on her foot or spilled into her way. But alas the job was finished as best as one could do on such short notice.

Two sets of blue eyes gazed across the room as Hikari and Diae studied the new surrounding. The Tale stepped into the room, bare feet making very little noise on the freshly vacuumed carpet as he traveled over to a bare wall in a wobbly fashion, to place his hand on the cool painted surface. A very light blue paint, faded and worn just screaming for a new coat, Diae smiled at the color and placed Eain’s cloth head to the surface so that the Doll could get a feel.

"H'es pretty." Diae chirped, turning to face Hikari. The tale's unused legs buckled and only his two hands on the wall kept him vertical.

"You like that color?" Hikari asked taking short, quick steps over to her son and relieved him of his standing duties. Diae gave a curt nod and continued inspecting the room. A small bookshelf in the corner of the room stood, hollow and empty of any books except for the pale yellow tome that was Diae's. Very few pictures littered the walls; a simple poster of a small polar bear padding along a glacier, painted by someone no doubt. Another picture hung above the crib, a simple night sky and an aurora borealis emitting its beauty in the background. How had this room become the arctic centered one?

Diae's eyes began to droop after the entirety of the room had been inspected and approved. He curled around Eain, snuggling deeper into Hikari's arms. In the background, Hikari heard the slamming of the front door and the soft thuds of bare feet scurrying up the stairs. No doubt Zillia followed closely by Sie, scrambling up to wonder why dinner was not cooked yet.

Assumptions proved to be correct as wings flapped and laughter peeled throughout the hallway.

"Sie! Get off!" Shouted Zillia, her silver eyes glinting at her younger brother, showing just how much she disliked her wings being snatched and pulled at. Angel and passenger fell into Diae's room with a thud, both sets of eyes gazed up at their mother about to make a comment about food or something as such. But the sight of a very startled Tall Tale stopped them in mid breath. Zillia was first to pick herself up, her head tilting in confusion. Sie used his sister's skirt as leverage to stand. At full height he only reached his sister’s collar bone and was often bullied because of it, albeit the sight of someone even smaller than he was a happy sight to see.

"Who is he?" Zillia asked, eyes wide but not in comparison to Sie. The passenger stood gaping at the new boy. When and How?

"This is Diae," Hikari said, shaking the startled Tale somewhat to get his attention, "He's your new brother."

"Hi Diae!" Sie exclaimed a bit too loudly for the taste of others. Zillia winced and covered her ears in displeasure.

"Another brother?" She asked with a note of disappointment. This was quickly changed at Hikari's fearsome glare. Zillia sighed and waved at the small boy with a smile, "He’ll do."

Hikari shook her head and began the introductions, "Diae, this is Sie and Zillia." She said pointing each out while listing their respective names.

Diae pondered, glancing between the two other children before pointing at Sie with his rag doll, "Zi," and then to Sie, the arms of the doll flopping about, "Sie."

Sie nodded, excitement coursing through him as he thought of all the adventures the other boy would have. Already planning one in the Do-jang his mother taught at. Plenty of interesting places to explore there.

It was then that Hikari made a simple decision, “It’s time for dinner.”

All three children glanced at their mother, Diae with a confused and lost look plastered about his features. His rag doll drooped in his hands as he released some tension in his fist. Dinner meant food right? He attempted to figure it out as he was carried downstairs and into the kitchen.

Hikari looked to the stove where Cirrus left a rather ominous pot of soup. She inspected the contents, finding a chicken noodle soup waiting to be heated for the family. He must have left it for them before he was called off to work at some bakery in Durem.

The Author flicked the heat on, setting up a highchair single handedly, plopping Diae onto it before locking the tray in place. Sie grabbed his booster seat with ease and slid it onto the chair next to Zillia.

"What happened?" Zillia asked, not taking Diae’s arrival as some phenomenal event. Sie had arrived by a train in the bottom of the shop her mum and her friend Chao had bought after a night of 'apple juice' testing. And she herself had arrived via scrap of paper.

"Erm…You mean Diae?" Hikari said pulling out oven-mitts, declaring the soup heated enough to be eaten. Zi nodded, watching Diae glance at Hikari at the mention of his name.

"I answered a question...and the big book," Hikari thought for a second, "It was weird, and Cha--" Hikari deadpanned as she remembered about Chao and something about staying away from very ominous books. The Author hurriedly set down three bowls of soup and ran for the phone to make a much needed call.

Diae blinked and store down at his bowl of soup, content with leaving the warm liquid alone. He glared at the steam that pushed itself into his face. Having no idea why he hated the soup as much as he felt in his gut he simply picked out pieces of noodle and chicken, nibbling on those yet leaving the broth alone. Zillia glanced over at the odd behavior. According to the signs that the Tale was putting off, it was obvious that Diae had a disliking towards soup. The angel hopped off of her chair and trod over to the bread box. She pulled out a loaf of sourdough; the soft and chewy bread she was so attached to, might get some substance into the small boy.

"Here," Zillia said, handing the inner and softer bits of bread to Diae, who looked up with a confused look.

"Thank'yu," He said in a small voice, taking the bread and nibbling on its edges. The three continued to eat in a tired silence, Sie finishing his bowl and sliding it in the sink with a clatter after making an effort to reach the surface. Diae had long since fallen asleep in his high chair using Eain as a pillow, and Zillia had successfully cleaned the sleeping boy and thrown all of the dishes into the sink.

Hikari walked in looking very distressed, assumedly unable to reach Chao by telephone. She gazed at the children all looking back at her that is except for the sleeping Diae.

"Zillia, could you help Sie into bed? I'm going to get Diae settled," Hikari asked, picking up the Tale after unhitching him and placing the tray in the sink. Zillia nodded, grabbing Sie’s hand, "Thanks, Zi."

"Mum," Zillia said, turning her head to gaze at her mother, "I don’t think Diae likes soup at all."

Hikari gave a short chuckle, picking the boy up and followed her daughter up the stairs. True had been Zillia as Hikari recalled the bowl that was Diae's had been completely full. The content had only been missing the noodles and chicken bits but the broth had still been there. Odd.

Hikari turned into Diae's room and settled the boy in his crib, not bothering to change him out of his clothing, the material seemed soft enough to sleep in. She pulled a blanket over the boy who immediately clung to Eain and snuggled into the warm fabric.

"Good night, love." Hikari said before traversing out into the hall to tuck the other two wards into bed. She was eager to find some sleep after a hectic day herself.

[Journal Write ~ May 29th]

Hikari pushed her glasses upwards on her face, cursing to herself at not remembering to look into contacts. The dim light of the desk-lamp flickered as she clicked it on and drew out her 'Diary' (A mere notebook of sorts) and prepared for an activity she had failed to do in a very long time.

Hikari

Dear...Notebook?

I haven't been one for continually updating a journal of sorts but ever since Diae showed his face about the stationary shop, on top of Sie transforming pots and pans into...masterpieces as it were. Maybe this will help record the goings on and relieve stress?

Diae has been part of our family for a full day now and thus far he has proven to be only a slight handful.

I've noticed a few things about him that are probably best to be recorded.

1. He has a great dislike fore soup and any other hot and steamy liquids...This is a very odd attribute.

2. DO NOT TOUCH THE GOGGLES. Without permission of course. Sie had tried to see what the leather strap felt like and Diae had promptly begun to sob hysterically. Sie was very confused and terrified of what he had done to hurt his 'Baby' brother.

and 3. This kid acts like he never has felt sleep since the dawn of mankind. I'll be keeping note of this.

Well, Diae had successfully managed to get pudding all over his hair and front after literally passing out in his High-chair. Sie managed to save the rag doll from rot and smell that would have occurred had the doll been cloaked in the pudding as Diae was. (Luckily, Diae was too tired to notice Sie grabbing at the doll.)

So I best give Diae a bath before putting him off to bed. I'd hate for him to wake up smelling like curdled milk...gross.

[Try and catch the R.E.M ~ Late May 29th]

Diae rested his head on the pillow residing in the middle of the floor. The sun had long sunken behind the hills and silhouetted tree tops leered upon the tale as he tried to filter away into a sleep. His crib had been the undesired place to rest, bars locking him in and keeping immobile if he wanted to run.

Not to long after the Tale had curled around his worn rag doll Diae had fallen into the abyss of sleep.

Diae opened his eyes, gazing into a blizzard of sleet and snow. He looked down, seeing his reflection in the almost glowing in the night sky.

He looked down to the familiar weight of Eain in his hands, or what should have been Eain. The doll he held was different in every way. Red stands of hair were pulled back into a braid of sorts and jade colored stones were sewn in as eyes. On each cheek, carfully painted, were two crimson lines running next to a small smile.

There was no scarf, no thick brown yarn. This was not Eain... This was not his rag doll and He knew that he had to return it to it's owner soon. Or they may get sad.

The Tale shifted his legs under him and stood shakily on the slippery ice, beginning to make his way towards a snow drifted bank.

Sitting on the land was a cloaked figure facing the wood beyond the snow drift. Maybe he was the owner? Diae pondered and took wobbly steps towards the person, shaking from the biting cold.

"E'scuse me?" Diae called above the howling wind with frost nipping at his ear, " Is this Dollie yours?"

The cloaked figure jumped at being addressed and quickly made his way into the woods with Diae calling desperately after its path in attempt to give the doll back.

"Wait! Please?" The Tale shouted, the strains of his voice reverberating in every direction. He stopped in a clearance, trees towering around him and listened. Within a few breaths a sharp howl cascaded through the wood.

Diae let out a scream before running in the opposite direction of the howl, scrambling down the bank and back onto the frozen lake. He skidded to a halt on the ice's edge before it dropped into the frozen watery depths. The hole hadn't been there before and Diae knew it should not have been. Had he gotten lost or turned around? Letting out a muffled sob the boy turned hearing clicks on the glossy surface only to stand face to face with a pack of massive lupine silhouettes.

"Mu-
Mummy!" Came Diae's muffled shout as he turned in his sleep squirming and trying to hide from the non-existent pack of animals.

Hikari rushed into the room, taken aback by the sight before her. Diae was sprawled in the center of her floor with his rag doll gripped firmly in his hand. Yet the most disturbing sight lay not three feet from the boy's head. A luminescent icicle jolted up from layers of frost barely reaching the height of Diae's forehead...How it had gotten there, Hikari could not explain.

The author hurried over to Diae, bracing his struggling form and hissing at the cold and clammy feel of the child in her arms.

"Shh, Diae," She soothed the petrified child while patting golden spikes. "I'm right here now, Mummy's right here for you."

The soothing continued for a long stretch of time before the boy's heat returned and his breathing leveled out to calm sleep filled breaths.

Hikari sighed, opted out to bring the Tale into her room for the night to ensure a good nights sleep.

One single glance back at where the icicle had jutted outward told her that the object in question was no longer there, leaving only sprinkles of frost and the room to be the temperature of an ice box.

"I have to tell Cirrus about this."

[Lupus Waning ~ May 30th 2006]
[Part I]

[Run from le Doggies, Diae! >3]
Diae crouched on the carpet ignoring, as best the young boy could, the noises of protest Sie was putting up against Cirrus' request to go shopping. The Tale fell into a slumber, small chubby hands gripping to the Rag Doll, Eain. Unable to hear his brother and Uncle close the door behind them as they departed as he slept.

It was amazing really, Hikari noted, that the boy could fall asleep anywhere. and lately it had been so often. Worry had not yet entered her mind that something must be wrong. After all, children needed their sleep. Growing and all that jazz.

"Diae, wake up." Hikari said as she made her way across the living room floor. She really needed to get this boy out of the stuffy house. With the end of May, June was bringing heat causing the house to stuff up come mid-morning. Wasn't it unhealthy? Oh well.

She picked the small boy up and looking into the still serene face. Small red lines imprinted on Diae's cheek told Hikari where the leather goggled had been pressing into his face. Certainly uncomfortable, yet he still manages to sleep anyway?

Uncanny.

"Diae, let's go for a walk. Okay?" Hikari said, prodding the boy into a delirious state of half asleep.

" 'kay?" Was the muttered repetition of the question, in which Hikari took as an agreement.

Diae rested against her shoulder, shutting his eyes once more before drifting off into sleep again. In his oblivious state, Hikari managed to belt him into a stroller and guide them out the front door after leaving a note for the rest of the family where She was planning on going with the Tale.

"Does the park sound okay?" Hikari asked, hardly expecting a response, and receiving none. The Author let out a breath before starting down the sidewalk into the bumbling streets of Durem.

The Tale and Author were graced with shade upon entering the grassy park, littered with stone statues and small fountains, and many trees sprouting out of the ground. And a pond was located somewhere within the mass of disarray.

Diae stayed unconscious for most of the trip, finding that sleep was the important action at this point in time. An afternoon nap was acceptable. A mid-morning nap was also acceptable, but both naps normally went on for more than three hours at a time. This was not acceptable or natural now that Hikari actually had time to think on the matter.

"Do you need more friends, Diae? Would that wake you up?" Hikari asked him, this time knowing that no response was to come.

In the distance there was a small dog and owner walking along the path. The dog yipped upon spotting Tale and Author and sped as much as the leash would allow.

The owner apologized upon catching up with the ball of brown fuzz. A small dog at best, with fluffy chestnut hair. The dog barely reached Hikari's mid shin.

Over taken by the sheer adorable air of the pup Hikari bent down at the Owners permission to pet the yipping and barking fluff ball.

"Diae, do you want to see the doggy?" Hikari asked, looking back at the stroller, fully expecting that Diae would have woken in the commotion. And she was correct, but Her smile faltered upon seeing the utter fear implanted on Diae's small face.

The dog let out a playful bark and padded over to n** and lick at Diae's ever bare toes. And in response, the Tale shrieked.

"Diae!" Hikari exclaimed in part worry, part surprise. She scuttled over, to try and pick the boy from his seat.

"No!" The boy shouted, tears filling his eyes. He let out a choked sob, waving a free hand in protest at the puppy while the other was occupied clutching Eain, "Go 'way." Diae whined miserably.

Not knowing what next, the child felt something icy slither down his hand and immediately after the odd occurance the dog shook its head and snorted as if something had assaulted its nose. Upon shaking, a small fleck of frost fell unnoticed onto the ground.

The owner scooped up her puppy, and asked if Diae was alright and apologized profusely for scaring the boy.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong with him," Hikari said, taken to rolling the stroller back and forth to calm the boy, "I do apologize and please don't worry. I'm sorry for disrupting your walk."

Hikari continued to talk with the walker until she was sure that dog and owner were more comfortable with themselves after frightening Diae.

Hikari smiled her good bye as the owner and dog carried on with their morning walk.

When the Author looked back towards, Diae, the sight that greeted her was shocking.

Diae was curled up around Eain, goggles shoved haphazardly upon his eyes. Diae shook in his stroller and whined to himself.

Hikari reached into the contraption, unhooking its captive and gently began comforting Diae.

"What's wrong, love?" Hikari asked, rocking Diae slightly in comfort.

"H'es doggy..." The boy sounded pitiful as he whimpered.

"Did the doggy bite you?" Hikari questioned, trying to figure out why the boy was so frightened.

After a moment's pause, Diae shook his head slowly.

"No, doggy 'idn't bite."

"Then why are you scared?"

"H'was gonna eat me." Diae sniffed, nuzzling into Eain as he calmed.

"Well, the doggy's all gone now. See?" Hikari stated while rotating the child in her arms to look at the empty park path.

"No more doggy?" Diae questioned, pushing the goggles up onto his forehead. His small hands reached up and began wiping away tears on his cheeks.

"No more doggy." Hikari concurred, setting the child back into the stroller.

"Home now?" Diae asked his voice a little bit more chipper than it had been.

"Yes we can go home now." Hikari stated, buckling respective buckles and began to push Diae back home.

[Lupus Waning ~ May 31st 2006]
[Part II]

[who had the what now?]

Diae lay rigid behind the protective bars of his crib, staring out into the dark confines of his room. A lonely nightlight illuminated a small corner of the room, casting hideous shadows on the walls.

The Tale groped about his bed for the hand sewn doll that never left his person since he had emerged from the Tome.

Small fingers flitted around the worn scarf and yarn based hair before hugging the doll to his chest. A feeling of comfort wafted through him as he lay on soft blankets, blue eyes focusing on the nightlight wavering in the dark.

Outside the window directly above his crib, several clouds shrouded the moon cutting off much of the light in the small room. And somewhere beyond the pane of glass a domestic howl rose to the hidden orb in the sky.

Diae shuddered and clenched his eyes closed in hopes of disappearing, flowing far away from the beast outside. Yet the resonating barks muffled by glass reached his ears breaking the fantasy.

The boy shot upward until he was climbing over the gate of the crib in an ungraceful fashion. The Tale landed with a dulled thud upon falling onto carpeted floor before making a bee-line toward the hall.

Shaking legs barely supported him as he fell to the middle of the round carpet. He lay in the flickering glow of the nightlight, quivering and clutching Eain in his small hands.

He looked up at his doorknob where the leather goggles resided; reflecting the nightlights waver until it finally went out.

Diae lunged at the goggles in the new found pitch dark and felt his way out of the room.

Bare feet hit the cool wooden hallway in a run as Diae regained balance and sprinted to the room adjacent to his own. He barreled through the empty doorway and crashed into a small bed, clutching the occupant's legs.

"Diae?" Sie let out groggily as he sat up and focused his tired eyes on the smaller form, "Wha's wrong?"

"H'es scary..." Diae mumbled into the fabric of the comforter. Sie let his fingers ruffle Diae's blond spiky hair before pulling the Tale up. And although Diae was not much younger than he, Sie could still act like a good big brother when he needed to.

"Wha' was scary?" Sie asked, stifling a yawn with his free hand. Diae pointed in the Direction of his room and mumbled something about dogs and the dark and monsters.

"What happened to your nightlight?" The passenger managed feeling much more awake now that monsters were involved.

"H's broken." Diae said pitifully.

The two boys sat in rigid silence as another howl echoed throughout the house from the blowing wind outside. A branch outside tapped the side of the house adding to the classic horror scene displayed before Tale and Passenger.

Both were frightened but Sie would not let his fear show in case it would ruin his reputation. Yet Diae felt no shame in releasing a whimper before cuddling closer to the older boy.

"This way," Sie said grasping Diae's hand and pulling him off the bed, "Let's see if Mu is okay."

Sie started a slow and brave walk before the wind made all the window panes shudder before both boys were sprinting down the hall.

The duo careened into Hikari's room, spilling onto the bed and hurridly scuttled onto either side of her.

"Wha? What are you? Are you boys okay?" The teen sputtered only half awake from the intrusion. Said boys shuttereed and whimpered before crawling closer to her form. Hikari sighed and yawned, "Bad dreams? It's alright; you're all safe now okay?"

Diae relaxed as Hikari wrapped an arm about his curled form.

"There was a doggy." Diae muttered to Hikari, small hands clutching goggles and Rag Doll.

"I'll have to take care of that mean doggy then," Hikari mumbled already close to sleep," In the morning. But let's get sleep now okay?"

Diae and Sie nodded before drifting off into sleep.

[Journal Write ~ June 6th]

Hikari sat at her computer desk, note book splayed out in front of her as she tapped the tip of her pen onto the bound paper.

Hikari

Dear Journal, or whatever you are really.

I've been worried really. Diae just keeps on sleeping as if he has never slept in his life. I'd leave him in the living room to his own devices, but when I come back he is litterally passed out on the floor.

I know that he's getting a full night sleep, check up on him before I go to bed and I wake him up in the morning.

At the begining it was frightening and lately it has been comical...but I don't know now.

What if something's wrong with him? I should probably ask Chao (If she'd ever answer my phone calls). She is probably alot more experienced with this than I am.

I think I'm going to actually teach him how to read, or how to sew, he is always really interested in how to sew things and make things in general.

Which reminds me of the question in the Tome at the stationary shop. The words were almost stitched on...or appeared to be anyway.

That's a good idea. I'll teach him how to sew, give him a hobby and things to occupy his mind with instead of sleeping.

I should go out tomorrow and pick up some books aswell. It's never to early to begin to read. Maybe then I can pick up a sewing kit aswell.

I should probably go get Diae and Sie to bed. No doubt Zillia is camping out at the Cathedrale tonight.

-Hikari

With a snap, Hikari shut the book and set off to grab Sie and Diae for bedtime.

[It's all lines and squiggles to me... ~ June 7th ]
[These tales are longer than you think]
Diae stared blankly at the massive amounts of shelves full of nothing but books. Leather bound, paperback, hard cover, on tape and even on CD. A book worm's paradise laid out before him... and he understood none of it.

The tale sat on the carpeted floor, rag doll in hand, with a thud as Hikari searched the rows of books. Loose fingers that barely gripped Diae's hand swung empty from the boy's change in elevation, sliding down next to the massive oak cases harboring paper and ink.

"Mu?" Diae said softly, aware of the people with red faces sitting about, staring at flipped pages with concentration born in their eyes. A look Diae himself had seen on Sie when he drew his circles about scraps of tin-foil and dust bunnies to make extraordinary things.

Hikari shifted between rows, fingers grazing on the spines of books as she passed, searching for a particular story, or so it seemed.

"What, love?" She questioned without casting so much as a glance in Diae's direction.

"Wha's that?" The Tale asked pointing a finger toward a large leather bound book, noting the similarity between this book and the one he had in his room.

"It's a book," Hikari stated, stopping her search to scoop the boy up in her arms to rest on her hip. She pointed to a fat paper book sitting on the shelf before them, "This one is one of my favorites."

The teen pulled down the book revealing a picture of girl standing by a polar bear. Lines, dots and circles ghosted the front in what Diae thought to be letters.

"It's called the Golden Compass by Philip Pullman." She said showing him the cover.

"Oh. Who that?" The tale asked, fingering the raised letters atop the girl's head.

"He's a writer" She answered patiently.

"Oh...Wha's that?" The boy stated only more confused now.

"Writers write stories," Hikari shrugged a bit to stand more comfortably with Diae in her arms.

"Like bed time stories?"

"Exactly. Only writers put the words on paper, and a lot of the times these stories are much longer than the ones you hear before going to bed." Hikari explained flipping through the books pages with the spine resting in Diae's lap.

Diae placed a hand on the pages where more lines, circles, and dots littered the pages. He gazed up at his mother with a look of confusion.

"Do you want to learn how to read and write, Diae?"

The Tale nodded his head eagerly with a bright smile. He gripped the books back and front covers and clamped the book shut with a snap and gripped it close to him, smothering the rag doll into his chest under his goggles.

"Let's go find you a picture book to start with." Hikari said wearily, noticing the content look in Diae's eyes as he gripped the book close to him.

"No...This one. Please?" The boy said with a pleading look plastered onto his features.

"Alright, we'll get you this one and a picture book, okay?"

Diae nodded happily, blond spikes bouncing on his forehead with his enthusiasm.

Hikari eyed Diae in his stroller, dozing in the warm sun as she rolled him towards home. The search for Diae's other book did not go as planned. The indecisiveness of the boy made it difficult for them but soon they agreed on a simple book titled Dream by Susan V. Bosak. The colors and the illustrations drew both Tale and Author to its story of growth and life.

Yet before the agreement there was the trouble of getting Diae away from the chapter books, covers with airplanes and the Arctic climates.

Diae even picked out a large book with a man wearing goggles, sitting in the cockpit of a fighter plane. Hikari was only slightly perturbed that her son had chosen a book about a World War.

Yet the even looked brighter promising bed time stories and the possibility of giving Diae a new hobby, instead of having him sit about and sleep all day.

Yes, the future did look bright.

Cranky Diae o.o?! Le gasp! Jun 15?!? oh the future! (shall be reposted when I get to that month x3)

Ladies and Gentleman:

Please note that as time has gone past, your Tales are starting to behave Oddly - They will in general be crankier, more restless and fidgety... and less inclined to open up to you. Possibly, there will be strange behaviors adopted by the children - newer Tales will be more effected than younger ones; even those that did not sign up for Active RP in the Metaplot will feel it - but not so much. Older Tales like Khia and Linny are likely just feeling off, grumpy and prone to either violence or depression as something is niggling in the back of their minds, but they cannot figure it out.

Younger Tales...well..see above - funny things might start happening.

Over the next few days I hope to insert specific little...things...into journals. Be on the lookout. ;3

SALUT.

[Journal Write ~ June 17th]

Hikari

Oh no.

Diae has been acting very weird lately. He's just not been his usual, kind-natured, crybaby-ish self lately. It's actually very frightening.

He's been having what I have been calling 'Cranky Spells'. The boy would be fine one moment and then without warning he would be crying or fighting with Sie the next.

I'm at a loss of what to do. This is not the Diae I've known for a month. Is he just growing? What's going on, I'm really worried and I need to talk with someone about this.

This isn't like him. This isn't Diae...

I need to get some water to dull this aweful headache that has eaten my head.

-Hikari

Note: Diae has not made anything Icy happen since that night. This is a good sign? Maybe, maybe not.
