Finalrain and Terradi seem to have quite good ideas, I really think I'd enjoy challenging myself.

Okay, I think I may go with Fin's idea...

The contest will be up and running by the start of October.

Keep suggesting ideas, though.

Random idea for a contest: Who can make the most Anti-Sue character

Yes, but in an effort to make the anti-Sue some people may make their characters dull.

I like Fin's idea though.

"A day in Gaia" , a varbally illustrated fictional tale of your crazy and surreal day in the world of Gaia. Tell a story of how Ian attempted to ask you on a date, and the consequences of his increadiable falure through doing so from your perspective...for example. sweatdrop

I predict if this were the contest subject, that many guild members will have fun even if they were not to win. ^-^ heart

Very true. Since boring would be the exact opposite of the over-the-topness that most Sue's exhibit.

No: complex and original would be the opposite of most Sues. Nothing is as boring as OMG!SueAdventures. xd

Well, I can't speak officially, but I think it may be a little bit.

The GrantOrg contest still needs to be wrapped up, and if CW does a "Gaiman Inspiration" contest, whoever participates in the administration of the contest is going to need to find imagery, and do other organizational things.

Have patience. whee

The entry must include "Mr Snuggles ate the bonbons" whee

I agree, i think any entry must include a certain phrase, each person having to encorperate the same phrase into their piece of writing, whatever that piece may be. (poem, story, report, whatever)

If you do a character contest I would like to have my guild involved. We did one a few months ago and it was great, but I did end up doing most (not all) of the work myself. Hahaha. Character contests are just so perfect for an RPing guild to help with, and by now I think I've had a little bit of experience writing the darned prompts/coming up with specific ideas. sweatdrop domokun HI PEOPLE!

PS. I had written a contest earlier for the GPrS to do, but they never did. It was a short story contest that had a scifi basis. They never ran it. If I can dig it up, would you like to see that?

Another thing the GPrS almost did was a novel contest where you had the whole summer to write it or something like that. 3nodding

I disagree. Sue stories are so fun to send up and an interesting challenge for people who actually can write. Why not have a story set in a really well known world, such as Middle Earth and get people to inject their characters into it? The person with the most over the top, original-canon-destroying, angsty-est story wins? Bit of fun that's not too serious. biggrin

Good idea! biggrin

I'm thinking of doing a Christmas contest, as to remain topical.

I like the Sue idea, but let's not make it canon specific (i.e. let's not just use Middle Earth). Or maybe for those who hate fanfiction, we could have two catagories: a prize for fanfic Sue and one for original Sue. Yes, I'm liking the Sue contest idea. *Plots*

A Christmas contest? Like, the author that writes the least sacchrine piece about Christmas wins?

This forum needs a contest soon, though. Perferably one with no entry fee.

Yes, but where will we get the money from? I'm saving up to make the BRG, and no one else has volunteered any prizes.
