Colche grins, she was happy he liked her joke. "I like too" she puurrs softly her ears twitching to their more upright possition now her tail wriggling back in to it's happy manner now her deep baby blue eyes pleased once again now that Josh didn't seem to be mad at her any more.
The question though made her brow crease in thought, she couldn't really describe it. Biting her tongue once again, the little pink tip peering out between her black lips. After a long moment of silence she reached over and took Josh's arm, she turns his arm over and pokes the soft joint with her claw being very careful. She knew her claws were quite sharp. "Mommy gives" she states simply, she couldn't think of any other way to describe how she became a princess cheetah. Of course, her third change was a mystery to her but all the other times Aubrey had come and given her an injection and she had changed in the curly haired womans arms.

Although the cheetah girl couldn't describe it in words, Joshua understood well enough through her actions. From an injection. But who was the person that gave her these injections? "Who is mommy?" he asked. For some reason, it was easier to believe Colche over Kaveri and Zachery. Perhaps it was because she didn't seem quite so... insane as they had been.
Yet, even though Joshua was able to believe her, he still didn't believe they were actually turning into animals. It was possible that Colche didn't understand it herself - but would that mean they were doing these things to her against her will? He hoped not - he certainly didn't want to work for anyone who would do such things to a person without permission.

Who was mommy, another hard one to describe. She looked thoughtful her furry brow creasing and she smiled "lives at lab" that would be the easiest way to put it she supposed. "Aubrey" She grins that was 'mommy's' name though she hardly ever used it any more, she was simply mommy most of the time.
She was pelased that Josh didn't get upset at her actions and she held his fingers with a little puurr, it was impossible to deny that her fur wasn't real.
She held his arm for a moment longer, her arms outstretched the subtle change between skin and fur clearly visable though trailing down her arms to her wrists upon her left wrist and upon the bone was a clear black callus. This sore had certainly shrunk during her changes but it hadn't faded away yet, No doubt in ehr final change all sign of her previous abuse would have faded away.
"Josh wanna see duplex? Gots lotsa books" she grins broadly taking up the last blob of her chocolate cake and pupping it in her mouth. chocolate cake never went to waste as long as Colche was around.

Lives at the lab, hm? She must be one of the other teachers, or perhaps just a scientist. Dr. Duvert did say they did research in the labs as well. Although... he never said what kind.
He curled his fingers gently around her hand, feeling the soft fur and the rough pads on her paws. Joshua noticed the callous on the girl's wrist, and he couldn't help wondering where it had come from. He didn't know what to make of all this. He had many questions, and he knew Colche would not be able to answer all of them. Would he ever understand what was going on here?
Maybe coming here to teach wasn't such a good idea.
When Colche spoke again, he came out of his thoughts, looking away from her wrist and back up at the girl's face. "Hmm? Oh, right - yes, I would love to see what books you have! Perhaps we can pick one out that I can help you read while I am there," he said, smiling at her and trying not to let his worries show on his face.

Colche puurred happily getting to her foot paws, she held out a furry fingered hand and tugged his fingers "come, lives in seventeen" She grins, she could certainly pick out a book, she had so many, fairy tails and other childrens stories along with some more advanced books like the animorphs series and charlotts web, books which she was struggling to read but she desperately wanted to learn to handle on her own.
Josh was willing to teach her. That, to say the last made her smile. Aubrey didn't have time and she had outgrown the leap pad story books, she wanted more but she needed a hand to do it.
Her tail swayed back and forth as she waited for him to stand, her tip toed stance making her about an inch and a half taller than she used to be, though she was still a short slight little girl. The cheetah was helping that, making her slim and racey looking while she was managing to keep some of her natural curves they were toned from all the running she did. Despite chocolate cake she was a fit girl with alot of energy to spare.

Joshua smiled, standing up and leaving the rest of his food on the table. He reached out and took her hand, "okay Colche, just lead the way. I don't know my way around this place very well yet, I wouldn't want to get lost!"
Although previously he had avoided looking at her, after seeing her face and hands, he couldn't help glancing down at her legs to see if they were changed too - and indeed they were. In fact, it seemed like their whole bone structure was changed, standing on her toes like a real cheetah.
How, how, how? Joshua felt a headache coming on, unable to understand the things he was seeing and desperately wanting explanations. Perhaps there was a book around that might help...

Colche smiled and nodded taking his hand in one of her own she pulled him towards the door, her tail was stil, though the very tip twitched occasionally. Her long, jet black hair folded around the base of her tail and covering her furry butt, at least a little bit.
She looked back at the man and giggled he looked a little confused. but she walked with an elegant, if some what bouncy step. The cheetah had certainly added a natural grace to the way she moved, though she was much too much of a happy chracter to walk, she more, bounced.
Once out of the cafeteria she made a beeline towards ehr own duplex. It was easy enough to find, down stairs, number seventeen. Padding to the door she pushed it open, the phrase lock the door had never quite fixed itself in ehr head "Home" she grins, pulling him in to the room which was decorated with lot of young girlie things. A bright pink tent was folded in the corner and her dresser was littered with plushies of various kinds.
A rabbit skittered as they entered and vanished in to a corner between the wall and the dresser. Colche shook her head "bunny silly, gets frightened" she states leading him to her book shelf. All the books that Aubrey had provided were lined up there, from the simple leap pad all the way up to the charlotts web and animorphs which were her most difficult books. She took charlotts web off the shelf. A peice of paper was wedged three or four pages in. "tried. hard on self" she says holding out the small childrens novel.

Joshua followed her to her duplex, making a mental note of where he could find it later if he needed to. All the while, he kept telling himself, it isn't real, it isn't real, it isn't real. There was nothing else he was could to accept - nothing else his mind would accept. The more he thought this, the easier it was for him to be able to relax.
He saw the bunny run and hide as he followed Colche inside, and he smiled. "You have a bunny, Colche? What's her name?" he asked, allowing her to lead him to her bookshelf. He looked over the books, trying to see which ones might be her level and which ones they should wait on reading. He took the book from her when she held it out, opening the book to where the paper was placed. "Yes, this book might be a little hard - but why don't we try it for now? If it's too hard, we can always try a different book, and then come back to this one later," he said with a smile.

Colche giggled "Bunny" she grins, it was the easiest name for the rabbit and had always been called thus. She wasn't likely to change it.
"if help I try hard" she states looking determined, seh wanted to read the book and understand it. She knew it was about a piggy called wilbur but his furtehr explorations and how the web came in to it. Or for that matter this charlott.
She pulled him towards the bed and sat on it cross legged and eager, the fact that at one point she would have been terrified to sit on a bed with a male of the species didn't even come to ehr mind. Josh was nice, he was going to help her speak and read like everyone else! It was ehr dream.
Grinning up at the man those big innocent blue eyes shone with enthusiasm and happyness.

"Bunny? That's a perfect name for a rabbit!" Joshua said, grinning as he was pulled over to the bed. He sat down next to the cheetah girl so he would be able to see the book with her, and he turned the pages back to the beginning of the first chapter. He was encouraged by her eagerness to learn, most of his students usually took his class because it was a requirement, so this was a nice change to teach someone who actually wanted to learn.
"Alright, Colche. Let's start at the beginning. Will you read this out loud for me? When you get to a word that's too hard, or that you don't understand, we can stop and I will help you with that," he smiled, handing the book to her so she could read from it. Letting her read out loud first would help him get a handle on what she knew and understood so far.

The little words were easy, but some f the names places and things were unfamiliar to her a barn for example escaped her imagination as she had never seen beyond the island. Of course,w hen this word came up she had to ask what it was, which ultimately led to the barn swing "suh..wuh..ing" she looked to josh for an explination, it was obviously an item of some sort, but she was unsure of it's reletiveness to the story or for that matter it's use.
The story didn't entirely make sence to her in the first few pages, she knew it was about children, two of them and a barn, what ever that was, and a swing, these things she needed explained to her ebfore she could continue and understand them.
She wiggled closer to josh and leaned over him pointing at the word just to make double sure she had said it right.

Joshua leaned over to see the word she was having trouble with, and nodded. "That's very close. It's a ssw-ee-ng," he said, again, saying the word slowly so Colche could hear the correct way to pronounce it.
"A swing is... it's a toy for children. It's a board, held up by two pieces of rope. The tops of the rope are tied up to a tree. You sit down on the board and you can move back and fourth," he explained, trying to make it simple enough for her to understand.
"Does that make sense?" he asked, hoping he explained it well enough to her. He thought maybe he could draw her a picture, but he wasn't very good at drawing.

Colche bit her tongue and nodded an affirmative. "Swing" she said with a little smile and a look to Josh for approval before continuing acouple more lines before she got stuck again. The book was a little above her general skill, but the book was simple enough if it did have alot of terms she didn't understand, it didn't have an awful lot of long words.
After stopping and starting over the first page, consulting Josh occasionally for confirmation ion a word she didn't know she smiled waiting for some sort of praise or affirmation that she was doing it right.
She held the book out like a little kid and grined "you read little" she asked with a sweet smile "please?" a puurr echoed from her chest as she looked at him hopefully.

Joshua was always ready to praise her when she needed it; he was a firm believer that positive reinforcement helped encourage people to learn. He helped her when she needed it, explaining words that she didn't understand, and he was sure to not interrupt her until she asked for help or started to struggle with what she was reading.
He smiled and chuckled when the cheetah girl held the book out to him, and asked him to read some. He felt she was doing well so far, so he took the book from her. "Alright, I'll read to you," he said. Joshua looked down at the pages and began to read the story to her out loud where Colche left off. If she was ever confused about a word he had said out loud, he would stop and explain it to her before continuing on.

Colche giggled and leaned on his arm, perring at the words as he read them. Josh was a very good story teller she decided. She paused him occasionally to enquire about a word or two, the word barn came up several times and pig sty, and stove, she had never cooked in her life what was a stove? She was enjoying the mans voice greatly, her big blue eyes wide with fasination as he told the tale of wilbur the piggy to her.
Her paw like fingers kneeded at his shoulder as she listened and the gentle puurr which echoed from her chest grew quiet enough to just eb a little background noise which became louder occasionallywhen she was pleased about a word being explained to her.
It was getting late on in the day though and her eyes started to grow heavy, her belly was full and her mind was heaving with the begining of the story. She could sleep and dream of the piggy called wilbur.
