Mana.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 30, 2005 6:44 am

I actually got into it due to Mana. About four years ago, I was looking for an Orgy [band] fansite -- and one particular fansite had been abandoned, more or less, and the person had gone on to liking jrock. Well, I bookmarked it and came back later -- and I actually -looked- at the clothing of Malice Mizer, who she had manymany pictures of in her gallery. I fell in love with Mana, learnt he was a boy, became FASCINATED and loved v-kei for a while.

My ability to get new v-kei is really stinted, so I'm waiting until I can get a job to be up-to-date -- but my personality and the way I view the world is often very similar to certain loli aspects... and I LOVELOVE the clothing, although I [again] don't have much ability to 'dress up', plus I've got chronically low self-esteem and so I tend to downplay myself as much as possible physically, so that maybe people would ignore me.... but I really, really do want to dress loli as soon as I get clothes [that... will be interesting] and figure out my self-esteem issues. I carry around my egl bible [volume 15] and ask people what they think of the clothing, too, and i haven't shown anyone yet who didn't think it was cute, if not a little odd XD;

now is forever

About 3 years ago, my friend forced me to listen to "Malice Mizer" and sent me pictures upon pictures of the band members - aside from getting my hair cut like Gackt, I fell hard for Mana.
I'm Transgendered, Female to Male, so I'm expected to dress masculinely.. But... Lolita has always been an escape for me - it's like entering another world entirely.
Since I saw Mana, I've been obsessed, and I'm finally preparing to start becoming Lolita.

It was Para-Kiss.

I was in love with the series when it was being fan-scanalated a while back, but I didn't know what the style was.

I assumed it was some kind of sofisticated victorian-esque garb. Little did I know how far it would drag me into it's depths...

I got a job, not just from the persistance of my parents, but for the prucuring of pretty clothes.

As for me, I just kept seeing the term 'Gothic-Lolita' everywhere, and finally I decided to look it up, 'cause I didn't know what it was and .. well I was curious. After I saw some pics and descriptions, I was caught. xD

Plus I've loved Alice in Wonderland and the Victorian fashions so.. yeah. That pulled me even further into the world of 'Lolita'. xD

My friends older sister has been goth since she was 14, and she is now 20, and passed the tradition on to me when I was... lessee, 9. She lurved Malice Mizer, and I liked her tastes much more than my own friend, who liked rap and was preppy. Her older sister became my adopted older sister. She moved out last year, and I haven't seen her. I really miss her. I'd love to be in loli dress next time I see her. But ever since I was little I have loved this. I am now 15, no closer to wearing it than I was then because I'm still too self conscious about my weight. But I am trying to make a loli coat. I would wear it constantly if I did.

I had always been into dolly style and victorian clothes, real big on playing dress up. when i was young my grandma would have dresses made for my sister and I, she liked for us to look like victorian little girls. My favorite movie was always alice in wonderland, i love her, i want to audition for her job in DisneyWorld for my internship.
I mean i loved going to civil war reinactments just so i could see the clothes, i would always dress up and look pretty as people went on tours. we also had this 19th century village that i still love to this day, they are hiring right now and i want a job so badly but have no way to get there, i would love to dress up as part of my job.
BUT as far as EGL, i didn't discover that it was a style until recently but i knew it was for me. I came across the name when i was looking for a cosplay outfit on ebay and i was like "what is all this lolita talk" so i googled it and loved the life style, the very idea of it. now i'm hardcore for it.

I've always been a huge fan of victorian clothes and Alice in Wonderland. Then one day I was invited by Neferious Vile to join this guild.
I did some research on Gothic Lolita, and then the fasciation started.

Reminiscing about such things gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling on the inside. ^-^ It's not how I found it, so much as it is that I found it.

A friend of mine, bless her narrow little mind, was ranting about how she didn't like goths for various stereotypical reasons. I told her she wasn't right to say such things, because it seemed obvious at the time that she was, indeed, stereotyping a very large group of individuals. But I realized, that I didn't know much about gothic fashion myself, so I looked it up online. And then I found morbidoutlook.com heart and read every little tidbit there about the fashion and discovered that I loved the peculiar fashion they talked about. 4laugh heart

When I read the article they had about Japan's lolita's, well, I knew it was a fashion style that suits my bizarre personality. I'm still very new to the scene, but I'm working on incorporating all of the girly clothing into my wardrobe and eventually replacing the large majority of it. (Yay!)

I think it came from my obsession with Cardcaptor Sakura, somehow I heard the term "gothic lolita" and looked it up one day and the rest is history.

There was an article on the front page of the Wall Street Journal about Lolita about a year ago. I was riding around Chicago on the metro, and I wanted somthing to do, so I picked up this paper, The Wall Street Journal, next to me, and the little portrait next to the article showed Japanese woman in a bonnet. I've always been into anime, Japanese culture, and dreesing up so it intreugued me. After that, I did some reserch and right away got busy making my first Lolita outfit. You can see pictures of it on my cosplaylab.com account. My username's balittle.

I was always into fashion. Different Japanese fashions to be specific. I was getting into different j-rock groups also then and I stumbled apon Mana-sama and his wonderful choices of clothing. I remeber also seeing a show on Harajuku and Japan and that really got me hooked. Between the books, music, and television everything just intertwined getting me addicted.
