Crimson eyes gazed towards the sky as the light was starting to go. Kirjava turned towards Kiburi, "We'll leave once the sun is set and most of the pride is sleeping." She nodded and couldn't help but laugh at her son. "But what about me, Ravi? Aren't you going to be my bodyguard too?" She teased her son with a smile before she spoke softly to him, "We're going to leave once the sun goes down and the land cools off a bit." At Kib's last words, she felt eternally grateful to her sister, "You have done so much for me, I am grateful. We'll find a way to get you and your friend back!"
Landing on his paws next to Kib, Ravi gave her a heartfelt smile before he looked to his mother and stuck out his tongue, "Of course, Mom!" At her further words, he looked towards the setting sun, "Leave?" He squeaked out, the idea was so foreign to him that he was now feeling a bit sad about not bringing his Auntie Kib along. But, if three lions were missing, that might be noticed. "Okay Mom."
((I'll have them head off into the desert after your next post.))

"Thank you, thank you. thank you!" And this time the words weren't stuttered. Yes, she felt sad that her sister was going but at the same time she was happy, happy that they were going to get their freedom. She breathed in deeply and nuzzled very gently against the other lionesses' shoulder. "We w-will meet again." And it was a statement, for she was sure of it, whether it be in this life or the next. "And I will wa-wait for that day eag-eagerly." She stood them, trying to force her shaky legs to gain some strength.
She lowered her head to Ravi and gave him a small lick across the top of his head, brushing the small tuft of mane out of his eyes.
"Take c-care you two. Be s-safe and make sure y-you cover your tracks!" With that she gave Ravi a small nudge and took a step back, tear-filled eyes tracing over them one last time.
She knew for a fact she would not be able to sleep that night, she'd be too nervous about the escape and how well it had gone.

As the sun had starting to go below the horizon, Kirjava stood up and glanced at her son, sharing a secret message that it was time to go. Turning to her sister, Kiburi, crimson eyes slowly watered as it was time to share their good-byes. As she tried to say good-bye, it was caught in her throat unable to come out, but instead something else came out instead. "Kiburi...Sister, we shall see each other again. I will find your family." Leaning towards the pale lioness, she licked her cheek affectionately and nuzzled her, hoping that her warm actions can speak louder than her words can. Eyes shifted down to her son and then back to Kiburi one last time before the two made their way towards a new life.
Feeling his Auntie Kiburi's lick and nuzzle, Ravi stood up and made his way to his mother's side, waiting on her command. As his mother poured out her emotions to his aunt, he waited for his turn. Once his mother was done, he stood up straight and gazed at his pale colored Auntie. He loved Kiburi so much, what was life going to be without her? He went to nuzzle her leg, "I'll come back for you, Auntie Kiburi, and I'll be big and strong to fight off all the red pelts that try to keep you here!" He made a silent vow before heading off with his mother in the darkness of the dunes.
