kajael the niners might actually be goo this year they picked up a awsome TE with there 1st draft choice witch means that A. smith might have someone to throw 2 Sure they got a TE, but you fail to mention that they lost their star WR (Llyod), and even when he had Llyod he still sucked the niners are going nowhere anytime soon. They probably won't get a wining reacord until 4 years down the road, and thats if everything goes well.

The 49ers are going to bad for at least the next 3 seasons. Did you see their defense. They were ranked dead last in the league. And it didn't look like they did much to improve it. The 49ers aren't even getting to 6 wins. Vernon Davis is going to do well in the beginning but is going to struggle later in the season because team's will favor coverage towards him.

49ers are a lot better than the Texans..actually, I take that back. 49ers are still the worst team in the league. They need better WR's and a good RB.

In the first preseason game Alex Smith does look pretty good. And with the addition of Antonio Bryant, Smith now has a good WR target. Add that in with Vernon Davis who's a monster when it comes to the TE position and Arnaz Battle who, if thrown to, has the athletic ability to become one of the leagues better receivers.
I think the Niners are very underatted this year and might actually turn some heads. Their offense and defense are both pretty solid this year. Not flashy or great at any position, but they have an overall average team, perhaps even good.

the niners suck and so do the raiders. The only good cali team right now is the chargers. which sucks cause they won division title. crying

Well the 49ers should get a new owner(because the owner that the 49ers have now ruined them)
also I don't like Alex Smith that much(hell I don't think he could start at the rate the niners are now)
also the whole NFC west divison sux too(I mean look at the competion) we got the Rams,Cardinals,and the Seahawks,and the 49ers(all of whom suck in thier own way.
