" Happy birthday... and welcome to Toxicity"
What a strange thing to say.. Pterois though as she squinted in the gloom of this new place. It wasn't her birthday was it? She sniffed the air, dry, a little uncomfortable to her piscine skin but it wasnt causing her too much of a problem right now. Her back fins wiggled a little, and she felt them stretch, and then settle as she moved around.
But memory wasn't coming easy...birthday - the day that celebrated arrival into the world. She couldn't recall when hers actually was - maybe it was today? Everything confused the fish-girl as she walked over to the bed, and then knocked webbed hands on the wood of the small chest of drawers close to the bed. It did truly feel as if she had just arrived in the world..even though she knew words, and feelings - shapes, form and function.
'Where am I?' she said out loud, voice huffy, bordering on upset.

There was a strange puttering sound, like a car having a coughing fit. fluttering outside the fish girls room. This time it wasn't by the door, it was outside the rooms window. There Sparks was, hovering in the air with a blue gift box with yellow ribbon tied to it in his hands, and on his back, a contraption that could only be described as a helicopter back pack. Sparks puffed his pipe and smiled and waved to the girl through the window.

'How the..' Pterois blinked at the man outside her window, having finally worked out where the noise was coming from. The spines along her head had risen a little from being startled, and they slowly lowered again. Should she open the window? She guessed so, walking over as the thought occurred and releasing the catch, then pushing the window open. She backed away and eyed the man warily.

Sparks putterewd a little closer then with some effort, tossed the gift wrapped package her way. He looked up as his invention coughed and sputtered and started failing and the little guy went dropping towards the earth.
" Ya dang blasted thing, work!"
Sparks pulled out a large monkey wrench and pounded the machine strapped to his back. With another cough, the machine buzzed back to life and Sparks flew back up to the window.
" Well hey there lil lass, how ya feelin?... That er gift there be fer ya, I just had tah drop it off on me way to do a couple things. Name's Sparks"
He gave a light wave and smoked his pipe.

Pterois just managed to catch the package and she turned it over in her hands before looking at this 'Sparks' person. She moved forwards swiftly as he dropped from the window level, then giggled a little as he came back.
'This is for me?' she looked at it, picking at the wrapping.
'I'm..fine I guess. I'm confused. A little,' she pulled at the ribbon, removing it, then putting it to one side. She pulled open the box, curious as to its contents.

" Oh you'll be fine hun, things will look a lil clearer soon enough. Oh drat I gotta jet, I er.. hover I guess. See ya soon maybe."
Sparks nodded and waved before he puttered off on his flying contraption.

Inside the box seems to be a light and fluffy plush toy. This one happens to be in the shape of a cute little blue fish. There's a small tag on it that has the name" Dory"

Pterois looked out the window as Sparks left, weaving an uncertain path across the sky. Her eyes narrowed; was the man afraid of her? One of the things she knew with any clarity about herself was that her spines delivered a low level toxin - it would explain why he hadnt entered the room in a conventional manner, or at all! Her head spines drooped, hands dropping and the contents of the parcel fell to the floor with a soft noise of impact.
'Oh..' she stooped, her skirt brushing the floor as she did so, webbed hands grasping the plush toy that had dropped. Maybe..the guy wasn't so bad - maybe he really had just simply been too busy to stop for long. It was hard to be annoyed at a man who had brought her such a brightly coloured - and soft - plush fish toy. She squished it in her fingers, then brushed it against a cheek, feeling the soft fibers on her skin. She patted the blue fish, then walked over to her bed, propping the toy with care against her pillow. Now what? Water was what...her skin felt a little tight, and she wandered off out of her room, down a hallway, seeking somewhere she could find water.

Pterois wriggled her toes, the water gently rippling around them, drops falling as she lifted a foot from the water and then splashed it back in again. Her skin was pleasantly moist now, her spines gently flaring in the water of the bathtub. She let out a sigh of contentment, finding this room had been easy after she had spoken to that Sparks guy, finding it empty was a bonus.
'Tap, hot, cold..' she spoke out loud, curious as to how she knew all these things when she didnt remember the experience of finding out about them. Her water was a pleasant mixture, too cold make her feel a little sick, and too warm was sleepy. She ducked under the water, immersing her whole body, watching the bubbles gently float to the surface and burst. Twisting in the tub, she faced the curved bottom, tucking her limbs in and propelling herself to the tap end with a flick of her small tail. She was just small enough to swim a little in the bathtub and floated back up, breaking the surface, breathing in the non-water oxygen.
Getting out of the tub, she put on her clothes again. Drying herself would have simply negated the point of taking the bath in the first place, and she dripped off, leaving a trail of watery prints that faded into nothing as she walked further. It was time to find the rest of the inhabitants of this building; there had to be more, as there were many rooms, all closed and she couldnt imagine she would have been put in here on her own - at least she hoped not.

At night when Pterois sleeps, with her cushy plushy nearby, she will find that Dory will be in her dreams, swimming happily and making her dreams fun. If she happens to have a nightmare, Dory will chase them off with her fins. Dory happens to be a dream fish, and Pterois protector.

Pterois had trailed around the area near the dorm house, finding no one, but the buildings in the distance looked interesting. She was tired however, too tired to think about going too far from the house and once inside she padded up the stairs, heading into her room, door shutting behind her and coiling up on the bed, laying on top of the sheets. She pulled the fish plushie to herself, tucking it against herself and into the crook of her neck and drifted into sleep.
She turned, eyelids tightly shut, eyes tracking beneath the lids. She mumbled, her spines raising a little as her dreams progressed.
'No..' she spoke, still firmly asleep, dreaming - or was it a nightmare? She began to thrash with limbs;
'No net! Not the net!' her voice was shrill, almost hysterical. As she flailed, a hand brushed against the Dory toy that had gotten pushed to one side as the nightmare had taken hold. Her eyes flew abruptly open and she stared at the toy. In her minds eye the fish had appeared, swimming at the net and breaking it in a streak of blue colour and bubbles.
'Weird..' she breathed. How could the toy have saved in her in her nightmare? She lay back down, this time making sure the toy was clasped firmly in her hands. If it was protecting her, she wanted it very close to her.

Pterois dripped on the floor of her room as she paced around. She was feeling a little like a caged animal; it wasnt that she couldnt go out, but heading out and seeing no one around all the time was a little depressing and so she had given up for now. She had taken a long soak in the bath to pass the time and now she sat on the floor of her room, gently wriggling her toes and spreading her webbings gently.
'What shall I do?' she said out loud to herself as she flopped back, resting her head on her arms that were folded and above her head. She felt strange talking to herself, but at least no one could hear her doing so. Well maybe she would go out again, but later. She had found some funny lines and patterns on the ceiling, where the plaster and paint had settled, and was feeling too comfy to move. She wiled away the next little while finding and naming shapes, almost as if she was outside and doing the same with clouds!

The Poison Arrow NEW RP
Kyler had his hands in his pockets, shuffling his feet across the dirt path just outside the wall. It was a huge thing, he tried to climb up it some, only managing to get so far before he slid down. Kyler wanted a better view to see the city.
Pulling out a small pouch, Kyler reached inside and pulled out a candy. HE wasn't sure what it was called, but he really liked them, and sucked it past his pointy teeth and into his mouth. Sucking on it quietly and walking further, he heard a crashing sound, something loud and noisey. Walking further, the noise got louder and her found himself at a large pool of water. He saw the waterfall and understood the noise now. It was like his tap, but bigger, bigger equals louder.
Kyler rolled the candy around his mouth and peered at the stone man in the water as he sat down. He didn't know they swam, but he waved anyway and looked down in the water. Sayuri_Nitta Pterois swam around in the Lake, diving as far as she dared, before swimming back up to the surface, floating just below the surface, trailing ripples with her hand. She stayed there a while, watching the bubbles from her mouth float up and burst then blinked as a shadow fell onto the water. Someone had to be up there!
She knew it wasnt the construct as he was further over, and she burst her head out of the water quickly, staring up at the boy as her watery vision cleared.
'Hey there..' she said, treading water to prevent herself from drifting away. The Poison Arrow Kyler toppled backwards and fell over onto his face in surprise as someone jumped out of the water. He coughed his candy out and blinked his eyes, getting himsels up off the dirt and grass and looking at the thing that made an appearance.
Kyler blinked as it spoke, and noticed it was a girl, he blushed and brushed his clothes down and looked her over curiously. He hadn't seen this one yet, maybe she was new.
" Um.. hi" Sayuri_Nitta 'Oh good,' Pterois smiled as she pulled herself from the water and sat on the lakeside. She tugged on her soggy top, dripping water all over, and re-arranged her skirt, pulling it so that it wasnt stuck so much to her legs.
'There are other people around here. I was worried that I was the only one!' she chuckled, her head spines raising a little.
'So, what's your name? I'm Pterois.' she held her hand out to the boy. The Poison Arrow Kyler looked down at his candy, it was all sticky and covered in dirt. He knew eating dirt wasn't really a good thing, so he reached into his pocket for another one. Watching the girl as she came out, he shifted to give her room, partly not wanting to be wet, and partly unsure of her.
Sucking on another candy, he looked at the hand offered to him and reached out with one of his spindly back legs and put it in her hand quietly. He never really touched something else alive before, it felt strange and good.
" Kyler" Sayuri_Nitta Pterois was curious as to what the thing that the boy popped into his mouth was but didnt want to ask outright. Besides any questions were quelled by the strange sensation of shaking 'hands' with one of his legs. Not that she could talk really; she was after all striped, covered in spines and had webbed extremeties.
'It's nice to meet you Kyler.' she shook the leg, and then let it go. She sat cross-legged now, giving him an encouraging smile.
'...so why do you have the extra legs?' she asked, after a moment of silence. It being the first time she had met anyone since awakening in her room, she wasnt about to let slip an opportunity to talk to someone else for once. The Poison Arrow Kyler flicked his spidery limb a little, just to get the water off and curled it back against his side. He'd never seen anything quite like her and often found himself staring at her while sucking on his candy. Pterois seemed happy to see him, and Kyler didn't know why, he wasn't exactly interesting as far as he knew.
With Pterois' question, he lifted up his arms and looked at his back legs. He was surprised he was the only one with them.
" Um... I don't know.. I just have them. They help for climbing real nice" Sayuri_Nitta 'Well I imagine they would be helpful,' Pterois nodded, looking at the legs.
'So you like climbing huh? I'm not really into that myself. I prefer the open water and the freedom of being suspended in the gentle blue.' she spread a hand, looking thoughtfully at the webbing between the fingers. The Poison Arrow Kyler nodded and leaned closer to look at the weird stuff between her fingers. He looked at his own fingers and spread them out, finding not such thing between his own. Kyler chewed his candy a little and looked out at the water. nodding absentmindedly to the question about climbing. He wondered about the way she popped out of the water like she did.
" You go in the water?.. how do you do that?" Sayuri_Nitta 'Uh well I swim..' Pterois stood, stretching a little, and looked at him.
'It's difficult to explain. I just kind of propel myself through the water with my feet and hands, and steer with my head. My tail keeps me balanced.' she wiggled it, then jumped forwards back into the water, her hands together as she dived in. Turning under the waves, she emerged again, spraying water onto the lakeside with a giggle. The Poison Arrow Kyler blinked as he watched Pterois stand up and jump back into the water with a splash. He scrambled back from the water trying not to get wet, but found the show quite cool. Standing up, he inched over to the water and looked down at the girl in it. Crouching down, he tapped at the water with one of his back legs.
" So, you like to swim?" Sayuri_Nitta Pterois nodded, sliding her hands back and forth in the water, feeling the push against the webbing.
'I like the water, and I have to go in it every so often as well.' the lionfish girl pulled herself out once more, turning to sit, and squeezing water from her skirt.
'My skin feels all funny if too many days go past without going in the water. It feels all tight.' she wriggled, sitting in a way to spare sitting on her tail.
'Do you know what this place is?' Pterois asked suddenly.
'I'm still confused about alot of things.' The Poison Arrow Kyler watched as Pterois made her way out of the water again and he decided to sit with her once more. He began umbling around in his pocket as he talked with the strange girl.
" The dark one told me he called this place um... Toxicity.. I think..He said this is my home, and um, others as well."
Kyler found a white candy ball with red stripes on it, he liked those kinds of candy. Holding it out slowly, Kyler offered the treat to Pterois.
" I found these, they good to suck on" Sayuri_Nitta 'Yeah I mean I know the place name, but why here? Are you the only one of your kind? I mean we can't be the same right because you look like you do,' she took the proferred candy with a smile.
'And I look a little like this sweet.' she chuckled.
'Thanks..' she unwrapped it and stuck it in her mouth, talking around it.
'It's just..I have no memory of anything before I woke up that day in my room.' she frowned. The Poison Arrow Kyler brushed his hair back a little, blinking with multiple eyes as he smiled a little seeing how the candy did look like Pterois. He sucked on his own some more, rolling his tongue around.
" I think I'm kinda the only one that looks like me, but I think we are all the same um.. thing.."
Kyler rubbed the back of his head, trying to think of how to explin it better. He'd been living here far more than any other had before, he should know some more.
" It was different here before, when I woke up, there was just a tower, and the dark one made this place with his stone men, so we could live in it"
Kyler motioned to the construct, to point out what he meant by stone man. Sayuri_Nitta Pterois wriggled her little nose at the strange taste in her mouth. The candy was pretty strong, in scent and taste.
'All the same thing?' she managed, tucking the candy to one side again.
'Before? Were you the first one to 'arrive' here?'
That couldnt have been nice. Pterois had felt lonely at first, but she knew there had to be others out there due to the sheer amount of buildings around this place, so she knew that there were others, but she just hadnt met them yet. She smiled warmly at Kyler, squirrelling away the thought that he was really quite sweet, and she was pleased to have met him.

The Poison Arrow Kyller nodded and ran fingers through his hair and one of his legs too, finishing off the candy in his mouth. He was the first, as far as he was told by the one that made this place.
" I think so,.. so he told me. I use to live in the tower, but now I have a house. I watch all the new people come and pass by and things."
He felt strange in his tummy, this had been the first thing he really got to talk to in this place. Sparks was always gone and the dark one, well Kyler felt talking to him would be too frightening. He couldn't believe he was just talking away, it was all too new.
" I've been around a long time it seems" Sayuri_Nitta 'Are there many of us..others like you and me?' Pterois asked. It seemed odd that there would be very many when she had only just met this boy, and he had been the first since her awakening.
'I'm sorry that you were on your own for so long..it can't have been nice.' she gingerly reached out and patted Kyler's arm, smiling at him. The Poison Arrow Kyler blinked aand looked down at her patting his arm, he didn't know why she did it, it just felt sort of, nice. He smiled a little, shuffling about to get comfortable. He thought about the others he'd seen and scratched his head with a back leg.
" Umm, I don't know how many, cuz ah... I didn't count them.. but there seemed like a lot"
He looked back up and began fetching himself another candy as he thought on the feeling of being mostly alone.
" I've been fine I guess. You're the first thing I talked to really... besides the constructs" Sayuri_Nitta Alot..well she wondered briefly where the 'alot' had been hiding themselves all this time if she had only just met Kyler. Pterois bristled a little at being called a 'thing' her spines raising in her irritation.
'Those are things..' she pointed out to the Lake construct, glancing at it with a shudder. She found them eery and wasnt comfortable around them.
'I am not. I wouldnt call you a thing,' she commented archly. The Poison Arrow Kyler blinked and looked at the ground with a look of guilt on his face, he thought that was the word that you use to describe .. well things.. something that is there. He hadn't meant to upset Pterois, wasn't exactly what he had in mind.
" Umm sorry?.. I didn't know the right word. Well I think I do... I guess you're one of me too"
Kyler remembered what the dark one had told him, silently and secretly. Kyler had a want to know who and what he was, the word he remembered came forth.
" Ro.. Rosin.. yeah, all of us that live here, we are Rosin" Sayuri_Nitta 'Well okay then..' Pterois was mollified and her spines lowered again. At least he had realised that his referring to her like that wasnt very nice.
'Rosin?' she echoed the word.
'What does that mean?' The Poison Arrow Kyler looked up, one of his back limbs had been absentmindedly been drawing in the dirt as he spoke. Seemed Pterois had a lot of questions better answered by the man in the tower. For now he shrugged.
" I don't know.. it's something he named us... I think Sparks might know more, he's been here longer than the dark one" Sayuri_Nitta 'Sparks?' Pterois chuckled at the memory.
'Yeah I met him just after I woke up. He was wearing some thing that made him fly. It didnt exactly work too well.' she giggled.
'Dark one? What's a dark one?' she was confused even more now then before. The Poison Arrow Kyler looked at Pterois a little strangely like the question about the dark one was a joke. Surely she met "him" right? He rubbed his cheek and wondered, guessing that asking might help.
" The dark one is the kinda um.. scarey guy in black clothes. He's got these strange eyes, I didn't like looking at them"
Kyler embarressed looked at the ground and slipped another candy into his mouth to suck on quietly.
" Sparks lives in the basement of the de..development house.. umm he knows lots of things,.. he's really smart" Sayuri_Nitta 'I dunno..' mused Pterois.
'He didnt look all that smart, but I guess you dont when you're falling towards the ground.' she giggled.
'I have no recollection of the 'dark one', I'm pretty sure I'd remember someone fitting that description. I mean if he's as scary as you make him out to be.' The Poison Arrow Kyler covered his mouth a lil with a giggle as well at the mention of Sparks, he was a funny little man, but Kyler had seen how smart he can be. After all, he made all the construct men and looks after them.
" Sparks is funny, I like him though, he talked to me when no one else did"
Kyler remembered the time before anyone else. Sparks was the only real person to talk to. Sayuri_Nitta It occurred to Pterois that they had been seated here a while, just talking, but she hadnt felt bored yet. Maybe this Kyler would be a good friend...she hoped so, he was nice, and didnt talk too much or make out that he was all super just because he'd been there the longest. She quickly looked away because she realised she was probably staring, and she slid forward to dip her feet into the water, wriggling her webbed toes.
'Well...I mean you can talk to me now if you like, want to..' The Poison Arrow Kyler rubbed his cheek, looking over at Pterois and fet a little warm on his skin. With his back legs fidgeting quietly to themselves, he smiled shyly and placed a candy in Pterois lap before patting her on the back.
" I like talking to you, it's... um... nice" Sayuri_Nitta 'Well thanks,' she smiled, her cheeks dimpling a little. She picked the candy up, the wrapper rustling in her hand, and leaned over, planting a kiss on Kyler's cheek. She didnt know why she did that, it just seemed the thing to do. Only now she blushed, fidgeting and looking longingly at the water. She would slip into it and hide, but that was just rude so she sat and looked bashful. The Poison Arrow Kyler blinked and froze up. His face went all red and he put a hand to where he just had been kissed. He never felt that before, it made all his hairs on his neck stand up.
" Umm... ah... y..ya welcome"
Kyler grabbed the hood on his sweater and pulled it over his head shyly as he looked at the ground. He just wanted to hide in a dark corner but didn't know why. Sayuri_Nitta Well maybe it wouldnt be too rude to make a graceful exit; would help the both of them. Pterois pulled up his hood a little and peered under.
'I'm..umm gonna go swimming now. My skin is feeling all dry and itchy again.' she slid forward after letting go of his hood again, dangling her legs in the water, looking back at him.
'So I'll see you later?' The Poison Arrow " Oh ah.. sure.. sorry to hold you up"
Kyler looked up with all eight eyes and smiled lightly. Then slowly got to his feet and dusted himself off. He shyly reached forward and mussed up Pterois hair and grinned a little.
" I'll see you around"
He chuckled a little and then ran, heading towards the development house.

First one as well.
Why did I do that? I can't think about kissing Kyler on the cheek without blushing. I mean, I really like him, I think he's a nice person and I can talk to him okay. But I still dont know why I went and kissed him. Probably like really mucked things up now. I mean boys dont like that do they? Like girls doing 'girly' stuff to them.
See now I'll have to find the other..Rosin that are supposed to be around here. Make friends with them, and if there are any other boys, hopefully I wont kiss them as well!
I wonder who the dark one is. Kyler seemed afraid of him, and I think I was meant to remember him or have met him or something. I don't remember him. Don't remember meeting anyone before Sparks. Well anyway, gonna take a soak in the bath and then head out for a walk. My head hurts, think I've been inside too long.
