burn in hell. jk, but i think its funny that people dont acknowledge how much theory does for you. you couldn't play guitar without theory. even a simple chord progression takes a certain amount of theory. maybe not a lot, but its there.
Agreed, but some guitar players know nothing about theory, and are considered legends... Jimi Hendrix had the best pitch of all time. Hands down, the man didn't know any music theory but could throw a masterpiece together in 5 min... Same thing with Elton John (though I think he knows theory), he writes all his songs in like 2 min.
