((>> <<;;; Joo better be kidding XD))

Yakuti looked up at the wall, he hadn't noticed it the night before, he looked at it and saw all the tiny pawprints on the wall, this den had obviously belonged to many before him. Jamaa wasn't kidding when he said it had been in his family for generations.

He walked over and sat next to Jamaa, and he stuck his right forepaw into the blob of mud. He raised his paw, now covered in mud, and pressed it against the wall. When he removed it, there was his paw print, larger than the others, and also a bit higher than most of them seeing as hyena pups are larger than dog pups.

(( XDYaku asked!))

Jamaa smiled. This wall looked perfect. The copper brown dog laughed at Yaku's print compared to his own, which was just below it seeing as it was only three toes. That day he sort of "missed" the wall with his remaining toe.

"So....now do we do?" Jamaa asked retorically. Laughing, Jamaa pushed the pup and ran out of the den.

A game of tag?

((Thats what you want me to think, isn't it?!))

Stumbling slightly, Yakuti called after the dog "Well, if its tag you want, its tag you'll get!" He ran out of the den after the dog, barking and yipping playfully, it was good to be running and playing again.

He jumped over a pile of dirt and continued onward, gaining speed and taking deep breaths like Temari taught him, he was gaining on Jamaa.

Jamaa abruptly stopped and reversed direction as he let out his playful laugh. Yaku may be a hyena, and he may be much bigger than he would be, but let's just enjoy the time together.

Jamaa lunged over the pup and landed with a rolls, leaving him on the round as he watched Yaku chase after him. He ran just like his mate, then again she taught him how to fun just like that.

"Ack!" Yakuti said as Jamaa leaped over his head. He stopped and turned to face him again and tackled him while he was still on the ground. "I got you!" He laughed happily, quickly getting off his friend and running in the other direction.

He hadn't played like this since the first time he met Jamaa and raced with him, he had forgotten how it felt to run just for the fun of it. As he ran he changed direction a lot, he found that this was a good strategy, as most creatures did not expect it and had to recollect themselves before giving chase again.

Jamaa rolled over from Yaku's little tag and raced after him. The little blue blur zig that way and zaged the other. Jamaa knew how to hunt these kinds of prey. Jamaa just ran straight.

Feeling the time was right, Jamaa lunged forth and tackled the little pup. The two rolled a little ways with Yaku on top. The older dog nipped at his ear and licked him. Then pushed him off and ran off.

"Come on, Temari tought you better than that!"

Yakuti jumped up from the ground and ran after his friend, okay, zigzaging wasn't going to work on him... He ran faster and faster after Jamaa, he was aproaching his top speed, he could feel it.

He was only inches away from him, and just as he was about to jump at him, he tripped over a branch, fell, and skidded over the ground. a small, sharp rock cought his back right leg and stuck, when Yakuti stopped, Jamaa was far ahead of him, so he stood up and barked loudly, "Jamaa, Jamaa come back!"

He tried to sit down, but the pain was terrible, the rock had gone almost all the way through his back right leg, halfway between his paw and his leg joint, he attempted to reach down to it with his mouth to remove it, but he couldn't reach.

He flopped down onto his left side to wait for his friend.

Jamaa's ears perked when he heard Yaku's cry. He turned and his eyes opened with shock and fear. A little ways back, Yaku laid on the ground, eyes filled with pain. Immediately Jamaa came to him.

"Yakuti, what happened?!" he cried in fright. The older canine eyed the hyena's body in whole. There was a jagged rock stuck in his hind leg. Jamaa's heart skipped two beats. He had to do it....again. The process his father taught him so long ago that took pain and gave more pain. Jamaa hated the process and the results but it was the only way to prevent the foriegn object to infect it AND it's pain subsides slightly faster.

"Yaku, can you be brave for me just this once?"

"I t-tripped and this rock, it c-c-cut my leg and I can't get it out!" Yakuti whined, he figured he knew at least a bit of the pain Temari went through with her injury. He watched as his friend surveyed his body, and his eyes widen when he saw the rock, Jamaa looked like he too had a rock in his leg.

"I can be b-b-brave Jamaa, I c-c-can!"

Jamaa too a deep breath to prepare himself. He has never done this to another, other than Temari, and himself, and Yakuti is still young. This was the only way he could think of.

He redid the process; first lick the wound and calm Yakuti. Luckily, the rock that was embedded into Yakuti was still protruding allowing a grip and much faster process. When Jamaa felt that Yakuti was relaxed he stopped licking, pulled back his head and dove at the rock, immediately pulling it out.

The older canine opened his maw to let the blood stained rock fall to the ground.

"....Better?" he asked, panting.

Yakuti didn't know what Jamaa was going to do, he had been asleep when he had removed a rock from Temari's leg, he was just going to have to trust him. He slowed his breathing as Jamaa licked him, and he tried his best to relax.

He whined loudly as Jamaa dove at the rock and pulled it out, and he watched as the rock fell to the ground. Still panting, Yakuti said "Yes Jamaa, better..." He tried to stand up, but it didn't work so well, because when his injured leg touched the ground, pain shot through it, causing him to flop back onto the ground.

Jamaa gave a small gasp and he attempted to catch him. He looked the little pup over, just to make sure.

"Yaku, Jamaa doesn't think you should be walking for a while." The older dog rose his head and looked around. Not many animals were out now and the sun was nearing twilight. Temari and the others won't mind him staying away from the pack will they? Jama contemplated.

"Alright, we got to get you into the den." the older, bigger dog picked up the not-so-little hyena pup by the scruff and carried him into their den.

licking the pup as he laid on the ground, Jamaa laid down next to him.

"Jamaa guesses he'll have to stay with you for a while, huh?" he smiled weakly.

Yakuti sighed, well, he was bound to get hurt eventually, it just so happened that he got hurt today, there was nothing he could do to change it... All he could do is hope that next time he doesn't trip over the rock... Jamaa was right, he wouldn't be walking for a day at least.

As he was set down in their den, he was happy to be inside somewhere safe, outside he didn't feel very secure. "Yeah, I guess so Jamaa," Yakuti laughed, "But I'll be better in no time, I just know it!"

Jamaa smiled warmly. It was strange. Somewhere in Yaku, there was Jamaa. The hyena made little noise from a very painful procedure. It was heart-warming and at the same time odd. The whole thing reminded Jamaa of his his time with his father. The lack of emotion and the complete comittment to their family duty. The copper brown dog frowned, he didn't to be like that, no he was to be better.

"Well then, you should get some sleep then." he nuzzled him lightly.

Yakuti yawned, he was getting tired, "I guess so Jamaa" He said tiredly. He closed his eyes and lay his head down onto the floor of their den, and slept gratefully.
