The little Pride Lander spoke to him, but was it getting through? The black ratel laid their motionless on the dirt path many used to get around. If no one knew who or what he was they could've saw him as a black blob laying in the middle of the path. What was going on here?
...was he dead?

"Hey," Ezeoha was becoming impatient, a note of hysteria was in his voice. The ratel had to get up and start moving again! It couldn't just lie there... people neeeded to get through... and Ezeoha didn't want to have overworked him to death.
No, it wasn't his fault. He had only given advice, and the ratel had taken it and then some. It was his decision. Ezeoha hadn't done anything wrong!
"GET UP BEFORE I EAT YOU!"

The ratel's face was pressed against the ground as he replied with a muffle tone, "I wish I could...."
Good, he's alive.
The ratel rolled over and over until he was no longer on the dirt path. He laid their panting to catch his breath. Maybe running wasn't something Ratels do. "Ai, laddy." he panted in a slight raspy voice, "I'll stick wit diggin'. Runnin' is too hard for me."
He laughed a little, "You'd grow up to be a fine love partna, you know everythin' when it comes to sex appeal." he laughed louder. He was older than the cub and he was giving him advice! The irony.

Ezeoha let out a sigh of relief, and for a few moments all was clam, before Ezeoha realized that the ratel had nearly given him a heart attack. He was instantly back to disliking the creature thoroughly. For a few moments it had seemed as if Ezeoha would be able to put up with Topas, but those few moments had passed and Ezeoha now looked at the ratel with something akin to disgust.
"Anything is too hard for you," the cub snapped, bristling right up and trying his best to hide the fact that he had been a little worried.
"I know fine enough of what I'm going to grow up to be. I do know everything, I've made sure that I know everything." Well, perhaps he could learn to like the odd creature. The ratel had been smart enough to compliment Ezeoha on his best area. There was no real harm in giving the cub a bit of an ego.

"So..." he started. "About this other lion cub that you were with. Was it a girl or a boy?" he asked. Wonder where he was going with this?
"If it were a lad, then he must be a coward because you must've saved him!" he smiled. "If it were a lass, then she must've been very thankful to be saved." ...yeah, this ratel is very, very random. No one knows where he goes with the things he starts.
"So which was it? A lad or a lass?" he asked, still laying along the side of the dirt path.

"Girl," Ezeoha replied reluctantly. He did not understand why Topas was so insistent on speaking with him, nor did he understand the quick change in conversation. He could only believe that it was brought on due to the ratel's insanity.
"She wasn't overly excited to be saved..." In fact, if anything, she had done the saving while he regained his senses from the sudden attack. No way in any god's name was he going to admit that, though.

"Oh!" he flushed. "Do you li-ke her?" he asked with a hint of teasing, then again he was....insane. "Betcha she was glad you saved ha from that nasty ratel." everything that came from his mouth sounded like word vomit, it just comes out. One word after the other.
"If ya want, I can find that rate' fer ya." he offered with a grin. WOnder what he was trying to accomplish.

Ezeoha didn't seem ruffled by the ratel's teasing. In fact, he was beginning to luck rather smug, and puffed out his chest. "I like every girl, and every girl lion likes me." He said this as if it were a fact, though it was true that it was helpless gloating. "Mosi and me work together. We're a team!" At least he had the sense to praise Mosi, as if he was worried that she was near by and would take offense if he claimed to have defeated the ratel all by myself. Now, he couldn't have a pretty female upset at him.
"Why do I want to meet that ratel again? That's pointless! Stop being so weird." The cub gave him a disdainful look, finding the ratel's non-stop chatter annoying. The ratel was worse than he was!

"Aight then, laddie. I'll keep ya advice in meh mind." he said with a goofy smile. "I'd best be headin' back to Jini soon."
He looked at Ezeoha, he was a strange yet cool lion cub. He'll grow up and be strong, and probably a even more babe magnet. Topas smirked.
"Hey Eze, I heard a rumor around Pride Rock recently. There is some other lion cub out there who keeps wonderin'. Howeveh, I don't know if it is a female or male. How about you look out for it, will ya." Topas bowed down like his friend did, must've became a habit to him seeing him do it all the time, and started down the path, waving his paw back to the lion cub.
"Take care, kid." he called back. "I'll come find ya if it doesn't turn out well fer meh."

Jini?
The cub cocked his head to the side, wondering how the ratel managed to know everyone, especially Mosi's sibling. It was curious, but Ezeoha decided not to press the matter. As long as the ratel didn't meet up with Mosi and spread bad news about him... then Ezeoha was fine.
This ratel was just full of information. Either there was a pretty female out there to woo, or there was a rival. The cub frowned, pondering what he should do if this other cub turned out to be a male. If the cub was handsome, then he'd figure he'd have to put the cub in his place. But, if he felt short of the standard for being a babe magnet, Ezeoha may feel as if it would be alright to hang around and make friends with the cub. Things could turn out either way.
"Turn out well for you?" The cub frowned, wondering what in the world was going on in the ratel's mind. Yes, the thing had to be insane... his information had to be faulty.
"Bye then."
