Alec averted his gaze out of discomfort, adjusting his seat though he didn't move. It was clear that the tiger man wanted him to leave but as odd as was, he wasn't feeling safe enough to get up just yet. At least he was honestly admitting that he hadn't been the one to attack Aubrey.
He was at a loss at the mention of the jungle, though. He remembered his recent exploration of the wild and how odd it had been as well, but the reason had probably been entirely different than Jamal's thanks to a particularly creepy catboy. "The'll prolly find th' guy soon." The teen commented for the sake of commenting, choosing to keep his mouth shut otherwise. With his luck he'd only be aggravating the tiger even more.

"Maybe....unless da cameras were out o' somethin'..." Jamal said with a slowly widening smirk. "Didn't seem like da big doc had a ********' clue 'bout who did it otha'wise da b*****d dat did it woulda been skinned 'n' put in front of a fireplace. If they got onna those herr, anyway."
Jamal sat up and shook a stream of water free from his cornrows, which had grown rather long tails because he hadn't had his hair cut since he got to the island. He'd just kept braiding and rebraiding now that he could manipulate his claws a bit better.
"She shoulda known betta ta be walkin' 'round at night. I heard all sorts of screams 'n' howls 'n' s**t while I was sittin in a tree...dat s**t ain't normal. Usually it's real quiet out there."

Alec agreed, Aubrey shouldn't have been out at night especially since apparently a lot of people really wanted her dead. Why was she even there in the first place? "So... ye think a' islandeh did i'?" He tentatively asked, raising his knees to his chest and resting his hands around his ankles. He shuddered at the visual of animal pelts that once belonged to 'things' like him, and all the poor souls on the island prison.

"Yeah I think an islanda' did it," he snapped testily. "Dunno why anyone else would. I don't know no one else dat hates her as much as some of us islanda's...Billy mighta' done it." He growled as he mentioned the octo-man, brows furrowing deeply over his icy-blue eyes. "Which is fine wit' me. They kin chop 'em inta dat shitty raw fish stuff da asians make. Saves me da trouble."

He wouldn't bother to ask who Billy was. Jamal seemed to hate even mentioning his name, although as of late he seemed to have a tendency to hate everyone and everything. What a frickin character.
"Why don' ye turn 'im in then?" He boldly asked, squinting over to the tigerman as the water reflected the sharp blades of sunlight into his line of sight with every rolling wave. "If 'e's sooch n' arse." The younger islander mumbled as he rooted for another book absent-mindedly. Maybe Jamal would get annoyed and leave soon.

If Alec thought HE was going to get Jamal to leave, he must be sorely mistaken. Jamal had increasingly felt the beach to be part of his 'territory', so to speak. He'd be damned if anyone was going to chase him out.
"Cause I ain't helpin' da ********' staff in any way unless I'm helpin' 'em die," he snapped back, the tips of his fangs more visible as his lip started to curl and the light spread of fur on his upper body prickling uncomfortably. "Ain't a god damn thing in it fo' me if I turn 'em in. Besides, they're likely ta shock me again if I come anywhere near after I damn near tried ta eat onna their staff people 'N' a coupla islanders. They know betta then ta ******** wit' me now."
THAT could be taken as a veiled threat by the way his gaze sharpened and he started to stand up, tension in his face. Or Alec could brush it off. Ya know...which ever.

Alec didn't need to be told twice. Admitting you'd attempted to rip apart more than one person without a blink of an eye was enough of a hint that this person wasn't very friendly or wasn't exactly all there. As Jamal's tone grew louder, Alec began to feel a tingle in his limbs and a tightening in his chest that almost seemed familiar.
Adrenaline coursed through his veins and Alec quickly shuffled to his feet, uncaring how much sand he kicked up into his own boots in the process. "Alrigh', alrigh'" He held up his hands and frowned, though the look was just an attempt to appear defensive rather than afraid. Some part of his mind wanted to lash out but it was prompty drowned out by the need to get the hell out of there. "A' ge' i', ukay? 'Am gonna go ge' somethin t'eat." He remarked, stooping down to quickly retrieve the sand-covered books from the ground. "A'll see ye around."

"Smart kid," he growled icly, but made no further move towards him. Jamal really had nothing against him except he happened to be interrupting Jamal's 'me' time. The fact that he got the hint was enough to keep Jamal from disliking him a great deal. "Good luck findin' somethin' ya like in the cafeteria...wit' them teeth ya got, I suggest da steak." Maybe that was a personal dig or an offhanded suggestion that wasn't meant to have a mean-spirited twinge to it. He seemed to have calmed down though with the apparent news that the kid was moving on.
In fact, he slunk back down into the water, lidding his eyes half-way, and seemingly began to ignore Alec from then on.

Alec clenched his jaw as he took off down the beach, stifling the urge to at least flip him off for the teeth comment. Definetly a sore spot.
When he was safely far enough away, he sighed heavily and lazily slung the books under his arm though a few slipped from his grip and dropped into the sand. One such book fell on it's binding, the wind flicking the reading material to a picture of a toothy shark that spanned both pages. The teen only got a glimpse of the caption that read "Tiger shark" befor eangrily grabbing it and continuing on back to his duplex.
