What an interesting grain pattern in the deck. "Yeah, I draw all the time... it keeps me busy..." And takes up the slack that friends normally would. "I watched all the elementals for a while... you want to see the drawings some time? I think I'll try to paint more when we land at Telphe." Crazy, Vincent couldn't remember the last time he talked so much. Talking was better than thinking... maybe that's why some many people talked so much...no, that wasn't nice. Talking to people was good; that's what his matron always tried to make him do.

Odd that she had never seen Vincent drawing. But, then again, he'd stayed in his room a lot and Niki had hung out with Tali, always adventuring through Nanedin. The childhood memories caused a lump to form in her throat. Better shift topics now.
Oh yes, back to the drawings. "I'd love to see them." Niki said, smiling a bit for the first time since leaving Tali and Selma behind.

Whoa, she smiled at him. She really seemed to mean it. Unbidden a small smile perked up on Vincents face and his nervousness over the flight seem to fade somewhat. He snuck a piece of brightly patterned paper out of his bag and worked on a few minutes, finally producing a small paper ship, complete with a sail. It looked like a smaller, and more papery, version of the ship they were on. Without anymore of his senseless blabber he handed it to Niki and shrugged. "I'll show them to you anytime...I'm just afr... The wind might blow them away... when we land I'll show you."

Niki watched with amazement as Vinny took a piece of paper and, just doing some folds, produced a little ship. She took it gently, turning it over in her hands to look at it. "That's neat. How'd you do that?"
"Alright. After we land, then." She looked back down at the paper ship in her hands. She hadn't know that Vincent could do neat stuff like this.

"That crazy old man that swept the floors taught me... he was from overseas...who knows what he was doing at the school. He knew all sorts of odd things..." Vincent's mind trailed off and he tried to block out the book he had so naively taken from the man... dirty old fart... of course he didn't have a use for it anymore. Old men couldn't bend like that. He shoved that thought far and between to a place in his mind that was filled with all sorts of naughty things, locking the door on it... for now. "Umm... I couldn't teach you some things." He pulled out two more brightly patterned pieces of rice paper and handed one to Niki. "If you want that is..."

"Oh," Niki commented, not really remember which crazy old man Vincent was talking about. Oh well. She'd spent way too much time out of the building.
She blinked as Vincent pulled out some more of the pretty paper and offered one to her. She took it carefully. "Sure. Something to do to pass the time..." She commented.

Somewhat reluctantly Vincent scooted closer and started to show her some basic folds. To ease the process he sat on the deck and pinned the paper down with his thumb. He took her though the folds and it eventually resulted in a pristine red and gold lily. He held it up to her and smiled a bit. "It should look something like this when you're done."

Niki slid down until she was sitting on the deck beside Vincent, watching as his fingers deftly made the different folds. She clumsily was following what he was doing, her fingers having a bit more problems with some of the folds.
But she made the flower. Eventually. And it wasn't as neatly creased as Vinny's. "Guess it takes some practice..." Niki muttered.

"Oh, that's good for a first try... it really takes a while to get the hang of it." He handed her his flower and leaned back against the rail. Funny, for a while he had forgotten he was high above the ground. He dug around in his bag for more paper and came out with a wooden bottle that contained his bubble solution. What a childish item... he tried to hide it but Niki caught him. The bubbles stirred the memory of some strange dream inside him and he fought the urge to blush... that must have been some dream. "Oh...um, these... he uncorked the top with the wooden bubble ring attached. "It...it's a bad habit..." He supplied lamely.

Niki blushed a bit as Vinny complimented her attempt. It had to be difficult to memorize all the different folding patterns. She took his flower and placed it with her own attempt at a flower next to the little paper ship.
"A bad habit?" Niki blinked.

Vincent laughed... "Er... from childhood... I guess it's alright for an air mage..." He dipped the ring and blew a series of large rainbow hued bubbles that floated off the deck of the ship and into the infinity below.

"Oh." Niki stated, watching the colorful orbs float gently on the breeze and off into the sky. Amazing how mesmorizing the bubbles could be, even for an adult.
"Yeah, I suppose an Air elemental may enjoy them longer than most others..." Niki was thinking of how cool it would be to be able to shift the breeze and do things with the bubbles. But the man wouldn't be happy if she even attempted it, so she settled for just watching the bubbles.

Vincent glanced at their new instructor but he was rather preoccupied at the moment. He offered the bubbles to Niki with a questining glance.

Niki smiled and took the little container. She dipped the small wand into the mixture and gently blew, ending up with a few bubbles floating about.
Though the teacher was busy, he knew what the two students were doing. Acting like small children, that was what. However, he could hardly hold back a grin at the two. At least it was keeping them from creating tornados or odd gusts.
