Aysel grabbed Alaqua's hand in hers and led the way out of the room and into the large empty hallway. The lure of showing the soft teddy bear girl the playroom she had found nearly outweighed the dangers of leaving her mommy. For a moment she stood glancing back at her mommy unsure of what to do. Aysel dropped Ala's hand and ran back in the room latching onto Tara's leg. "Play woom," she said tugging.

"Right..." Tara replied sarcastically. "And I think that brings us to why you're here." A green caterpiller attacked itself to her leg tugging on her gently. "Play room?" Tara repeated doubtfully before glancing at Nikiana questioningly.

Alaqua happily followed along after Aysel, until the catepillar dropped her hand and scurried back to her mother. Which left Ala all alone in the hallway. Whimpering, she scampered back to her own mother, climbing up into her lap.

Niki blushed again. Well, after what Tara had said, how was she to ask her friend to watch Ala so she could do some work. It would just prove Tara's point about her work being first in her life. "Well, I, uh... I hadn't seen you in a while, so... I thought I'd come by..." Okay, so it probably wouldn't float, but it was something other than 'I've got this kid now and can't work, so can you watch her for a few hours so I can get some of my all important work done?'.

Aysel continued to tug on Tara's leg attemptimg to draw her towards the door. "Play woom!" The toddler stated. "Wanna go play."

Tara raised an eyebrow at Nikiana before shaking her head. "Uh..huh. Play room Aysel?" The toddler nodded enthusiastically. The mage simply blinked.
"Well... Show me the way." The mage looked disconcerted by her new 'daughter's' insistence that they had a play room in the house. "Nikiana, Alaqua?" Tara invited.

Okay, so Tara didn't bite. But there was a convinent distraction in the form of Aysel tugging at her leg.

Niki was also a bit curious as to when Tara had gotten a play room. It didn't sound like the mage to have a room full of toys somewhere in her house. The woman nodded at Tara's inclusion of them and, with Ala climbing to her back again, followed after the other woman to find this 'play room' in Tara's house.

Aysel led the group out of the sitting room once more, and down the hallway. The toddler stopped at one of the doors the plain black wood sticking out against the rest of the doors. Jumping up several times, the caterpillar finally managed to wrap her top two hands around the handle, twisting it as she fell towards the ground. Slowly the door swung open and Aysel toddled inside.

Tara was just as curious as Nikiana about the play room. She had given Aysel a tour earlier but she was fairly certain that there weren't any playroom's. The mage followed nervously as the luna moth led them down the hall. As they approached the door the nervous butterflies in her stomach darkened into a well settled fear. "Aysel!" The young woman darted forward, but the toddler had already gone inside.

Inside was the mage's work room. Half finished papers and projects lay scattered around the obviously non-toddler proofed room. Several sparkly items lay on the floor, including what looked like an energy harp. Aysel grinned up at Alaqua. "Play woom!" She chirped gesturing at the myriad things lying around.

Niki tagged along after Tara, watching the toddler try to open the door with slight amusement. Such a cutie. Down the next hallway they went, almost to the end in silence before Tara suddenly darted forward, calling out the child's name.

Curious, Niki sped up to get a look into the room. Oooh..... pretties. Niki's attention was drawn to the sparkly items on the floor.

Ala grinned, happily climbing down to investigate the shinies that her mother was gazing at. "Hehehe! Pretties!" The toddler exclaimed, wandering towards the nearest one.

Well settled fear turned into certain foreboding. Tara knew that this wouldn't end well if she couldn't cut off the toddlers happy exploration of her work room. The mage rushed after Ala and Aysel, grabbing at the first toddler she could reach. "Not the- NIKI! Don't just stand there!"

Aysel swerved out of Tara's reach at the last moment, a giggle escaping from the quiet girl. It was like a giant game of tag to the toddler, as she waddle/ran. The caterpillar weaved in and out through the various objects and piles of books, leading them farther into the room.

Niki was snapped out of her staring by Tara's shout. Uh oh. Two year olds loose around magical items. Not usually a good thing. The woman tried to grab her own child, the closer of the two to her, but Ala spotted Aysel darting off and decided this whole thing was a game.

Giggling, Alaqua toddled along after Aysel about the room. Sighing, Niki turned and started heading the opposite way. Perhaps she could nab one of them before they broke something. Or hurt themselves.

Aysel giggled, her smaller form giving her a slight advantage in the cluttered room. Slowly but surely the toddler made nearly a perfect circuit of the room before running into a tall adult. Blinking Aysel looked up and up and up. She giggled as she met the eyes of Aunty Niki. Slowly she turned around and started running back the way she came.

"Thank Ladon," Tara muttered as at least one of the toddlers was cornered between the two of them. But where had Alaqua gone?
PostPosted: Tue May 09, 2006 7:13 pm

Niki grinned as she looked down at Aysel. Well, one of them was trapped. Now where had her-

Just as the woman was wondering where her child dissapeared to, she felt an all too familiar gentle tugging that meant that Alaqua was climbing her. Nikiana sighed with relief okay, so both of the kids were caught, or about to b-

Nope. Ala was only using her mother to get up to a bookcase, where she promptly climbed to the top and sat on it, looking down at her mom happily.

The toddler giggled happily as she nearly tackled her new mother's leg. She put all four of her arms up demandingly, and muttered happily as she was rather obligingly picked up.

Tara moved quickly towards Niki and Ala, studying the bookcase. Although the bookcase didn't have dangerous magical items on it but well, there weren't exactly any picture books on it. "Come on down Alaqua!"

Alaqua glanced down at Tara, shaking her head and grinning. "No!" She giggled, another fun game!

Niki glared up at her daughter. "Ala. Down. NOW!"

Ala blinked, frowning. Fine... Slowly, she climbed down the bookcase, clinging over onto her mother.

Sighing, Niki gave the girl a hug. "Thank you. I'm sure Tara doesn't want you messing up her bookcase. And you could fall. It's dangerous."

"Ala not fall..."

Aysel continued to giggle, watching as Ala taunted her mother on the bookcase. A pout drifted across the little girls face as the game was, rather officially, declared over.

"Dangerous for the bookcase..." Tara muttered to herself as she tried to shoo everyone out of the room. "I'm sorry," the mage forced herself to say. "Can you take Aysel and play outside for a bit while I do a bit of..toddler proofing inside? I don't need distractions," she added with look at Aysel and Alaqua.

And thus the one looking for a babysitter is then turned into the babysitter. Niki sighed softly. "Sure, I suppose so. Ala can go climb some trees instead of bookcases..." Putting on a grin, she glanced at the two toddlers. "Wanna go outside?"

Ala clapped her hands gleefully. Yay, outside! Outside had trees and trees were fun to climb on! "Aye-aye like climbing??" Ala directed the question towards the catepillar child, which helped Niki figure out that the koala girl had made up a nickname for Aysel. Whatever. Toddlers were insane. And insanely cute...

Aysel looked from Tara to Ala and back again before clinging tighter to Tara. Half the conversation went over her head but the movements her mom made to distangle her were clear enough. "No!" 'Aye-Aye' proclaimed loudly.

"Yes. Go with Aunt Niki..It'll be fun! Alaqua can show you how to climb a tree and you can explore outside," the woman pleaded with Aysel. Said toddler merely shook her head.

Grimacing Tara pulled at Aysel, handing her physcially over to Niki. Slowly she pried first one set of hands free, then the others..then the first pair again. Finally she managed to duck out and backwards but not before Aysel began to set up a fuss.
