Lord Setar Not to mention, I believe that "Abortion causes depression" and such has been disproven scientifically. If depression is caused, it's likely because the woman has been guilted by the crazies outside the clinic screaming at her that she's a murderer. D: I'm not even in that situation... but thinking about it as if I were is certainly depressing. You're dealing with another life right? It's scary. Emotions aren't scientific.

Kangaroo S.T.U. lots of good and scary thoughts Exactly. You don't feel like you would have a choice right now, which is what situation most women find themselves in. Most women naturally want to have a kid. And yeah, I agree with Telor. It's not something you can really generalise about. Even though I do think any abortion is killing a baby (unless it's dead already ^^; ) it does have to be the mother's descision in the end. But, this is where it all comes down to; when does life start? I happen to think it's when the sperm and egg meet, some people think it's when the baby's hearbeat starts, some people think it's when it's born, and there's plenty of others inbetween. However, I think most people would agree that the latest you can have an abortion is too late; I know a woman who miscarried two weeks before that date, and the baby survived, and is not mentally damaged at all. A miracle and one in a million, but it proves that life has definately started by then. I don't understand how in one room a doctor can be struggling to save a premature baby's life in one room, and just down the corridor, be aborting a baby of the same age. o.O And yeah; getting yourself pregnant through carelessness, and having an abortion because of selfishness... oh that gets me so angry. There's giving a woman a choice in really difficult circumstances, and then there's selfish idiots who don't care about life at all. PS: No one can prove where life begins, so there's no point in arguing about it. Opinions are fine though, obviously. wink

I think that if you want to have an abortion, you are entitled to it because it is your choice.
If you don't want to have an abortion because you don't believe they are morally right, then don't have one.
Simple.

Murder: The illegal killing of a person with malice aforethought. So no, it's not murder. Simply killing isn't murder. For it to be murder it has to be illegal killing of a person with malice aforethought. I believe it is as follows...first-degree is premeditated, second degree is you murdered someone unintentionally but you did intend to do them extreme harm, manslaughter is accidental, like say hitting a pedestrian.
