Managing a burst of laughter, which was unusual for Siku, she smiled widely, nodding in excitement at the thought. It really was much different from the Pridelands, she realized, trying to imagine enormous trees that you could crash into.

"I'm sorry for laughing," She said, suddenly realizing jst how rude she'd been and ducking her head, "I..it was just funny, to me, atleast. I'm sorry if I offended you.." she murmured quietly, biting her tongue. Way to go, Siku!
Shaking the thought from her head, she sat solemnly, feeling rather guilty for laughing at Kijibwa. She'd never done that before.. why now?

Kijibwa grins and gives the little lioness a playful nudge when she starts to laugh at his story. It's not like he expected much else from her when telling the story of his first hunt, it is kind of funny after all.

"Don't worry about it," he says, laughing when she apologizes, "but we'll see what happens when you start hunting around all these trees." He grins.

"Though, you may be more agile than me," Kiji winks at her, laughing. She may not be smaller than he was when he ran into the tree the first time, but it wouldn't surprise him if she was more graceful than he was.

Smiling softly at Kijibwa's reassurance, Siku brought her spirits up again, as she gave a soft laugh. "I'll probably run into a few trees myself, in all honesty.." She added, flickering her tail in excitement a bit.

"It all sounds very.. exciting, and different!" Siku quickly said, changing the subject once more. It really was, since the young lioness had never left the Pridelands in her life. Maybe it was for the best after all?

"I.. if you're ready, Kijibwa, I'm ready to start up again for the jungle." Tail swishing at the ground at a quickened pace, it was hard for the young lioness to hard her excitement. Then again, it was about as hard to read her as it was to hunt a three-legged gazelle.

"Besides, if I miss somebody, I will be able to come back someday. I won't be gone from them forever!" She said, giving herself a bit more reassurance.

"We'll see, won't we?" he laughs, now eager to sit back and watch Siku hunt in the trees. With or without crashing into some trees, it looks to be quite entertaining. Heck, it's entertaining watching her get excited about going right now.

"Alright," he says, "We have our plan, we know what our general pace should be, we know where we're going, no goodbyes to say.. we are ready to go."

Kijibwa looks from Siku back out to the horizon, the horizon that has the Jungle somewhere out beyond it.

"That's right," he agrees, "You won't have to go away forever, there are other places to see than the Jungle."

Thinking on that, he considers future plans. If he headed back this way, finding out what's on the other side of the Pridelands might be an interest adventure as well. But that wouldn't be for awhile, they were heading for the jungle!

"Okay!" Siku said, seeming a bit more relaxed and open since Kijibwa's reassurance. It wasn't that bad, really.. it was just a trip to the jungle! It wouldn't be forever, anyway, like Kijibwa had said.

Suddenly curious, Siku turned back to Kijibwa, blinking a bit as another thought crossed her mind.

"I know I'm not a very fast runner, but, if I try my hardest, how long do you think it'll take us?" She asked curiously, really wondering about how long it'd take. "I mean, counting in breaks every so often for water and such." She added, remembering it at the last second.

"I..I just think it would be nice to know, so I'd have a relative idea if anything happened.."

Kijibwa takes a couple steps in the direction they'll soon be heading, nodding for her to start along with him. Discussions can take place while walking slowly, they aren't going to go into anything very quickly- especially since they aren't finished planning, it seems.

"Well, we probably won't run the whole way," he says, glancing back the way they'd come from, "It should take about twice as long as it took us to get here, I'd think. We didn't go too quickly, but not so slow.."

He stops and looks at Siku thoughtfully for a moment.

"What could happen?" Kiji asks, sounding curious.

"Let's hope nothing," Siku said, trailing along after Kijibwa as he started walking. She really did hope nothing happened, and the journey went along as smoothly as they had planned. It would be nice, actually, with how long it was expected to take them.

"I mean, we should be cautious, just incase anything does happen, since you never know." She said, fumbling to recover from her nervous habits.

"I doubt it will, I mean, but it doesn't hurt to be safe." Continuing along, she stopped, turning back to Kijibwa and blinking.

"I.. I mean, do you think anything will?

Kijibwa sits and leans down to look Siku in the eyes at her own eye-level instead, and he keeps a smile on his face. He can agree that he hopes nothing would happen, having never really worried about such things before..

"I don't think anything will happen," he replies, "I don't normally worry about things, which makes it good one of us worries a bit more about those things. Siku, if anything happens, the jungle is straight this way.." His eyes move to the direction they'd walked several steps in.

"If you lose me for too long, just go to the jungle," he nods, "I won't go far without you, but if we do get separated then we can just meet there. Anything else that could happen.. well, we'll be there together to worry about it."

He sits back upright, "Alright?"

"Together..?" Siku asked quietly, looking back up to Kijibwa curiously. She was almost to the point of forming a smile, when her eyes went wide, and she fell quickly back to a sitting position. It was for reasons that Kijibwa, however, likely would never understand.

Siku found herself overlooking a scene she'd never seen anything like before. It was a small area covered in huge trees, with all sorts of plants that she'd never imagined before. And there, amongst them, was Kijibwa, sitting down to wait for someone he was with. Smiling softly, Siku attempted to approach, but found herself frozen in place and unable to move. Instead, she watched as an older lioness emerged behind Kijibwa, unable to make out her face as the two carried along together.

Snapping back to the normal world, Siku frantically looked around, finding Kijibwa and herself in the exact places they had been earlier. Sighing with relief, Siku quietly looked to the ground, wondering if Kijibwa had seen that, too. Or was that just another thing that made her different..?
"D..did you see that, too..?"

Kijibwa, already leaning close to her, is about to nod assuringly when she suddenly sits and assumes a trance-like gaze. His head tilts to the side, "Siku?"

How odd.

He takes a step back to make room for his paw, which he waves infront of her eyes. The trance, seeming only to last seconds to him, ends abruptly when his paw is in mid-wave, startling the lion. He jumps back and watches as Siku looks around madly, as if she was sure she's seen a ghost.

This suspicion isn't eased when he's suddenly asked if he saw.. that. He raises an eyebrow and shakes his head at her, looking somewhere between curious and concerned.

"No," he says, "What was all of that about?"

That was quite strange compared to, well, everything that has happened with the little lioness. Different. Very different.

Ears drooping in dissapointment, Siku looked down to her paws in confusion, wondering herself what that had been all about. It hadnt happened to her before.. why now?

"I..I saw something.. just now.." she said quietly, shifting uneasily as she thought back to the odd memory. Looking up to Kijibwa, she bit her lower lip.

"It... it was, I think, the jungle, and you were there.. with a lioness I didn't recognize.." she murmured, clawing at the ground uneasily. Kijibwa obviously hadn't seen anything, or know anything about what had happened.

"What do you think it could be..?" She asked quietly, wondering if Kiji had heard anything about this sort of thing. He had been to more places, and been around longer than she had.. maybe he'd seen something like that before?

Kijibwa keeps his eyes on Siku curiously as he waits for her to explain. He straightens up a little when she says she saw something, and does the first thing he could think of- he takes a good look around them. While he's looking, though, Siku continues- and as soon as he hears 'the Jungle' he turns to face the little lioness again.

He can't help but look a bit confused at what she says. Kijibwa doesn't say anything until Siku asks him what he thinks it was, at which point he makes a thoughtful sound.

"It sounds like a dream to me," he says, leaning into Siku to take a look at her face, "Maybe you fell asleep for a couple seconds. Are you tired?" He doesn't bother to think about how he's never heard of anything falling asleep for a very brief time while they otherwise seemed wide awake.

"No.. I'm not.." Siku said quietly, shaking her head at Kijibwa's investigation of the thing. Ears drooping, she looked to the ground nervously and sighed.
"A..and I didn't fall asleep, either!" She added, looking up to meet Kijibwa in the eyes. Biting her lower lip, she shifted uneasily once more. Struggling to think of a way to better explain it to Kijibwa, she sighed.

"It was like........a vision.." Siku said distantly, before suddenly her eyes widened. "No, no, I can't have visions! That's just.. not normal!" She cried, thrown into a panic and plopping onto the ground. Clasping her paws over her eyes, in an attempt to hide herself from the world, she groaned.

"I..it HAS to be a dream.. this is all just a dream.."
PostPosted: Sat Jun 17, 2006 4:51 pm

Kijibwa tilts his head at her assertion, keeping his eyes on her when she says it wasn't sleep, or a dream. The only other thing he can think of is that maybe she's seeing things, but in spite of his naivety he's positive she wouldn't like being called crazy. He lets her try to think of a better way to explain it without being interupted.

Then she panics.

He jumps, startled by her sudden reaction to her revelation. Visions aren't normal, but should she be so upset about not being normal? Words stammer out of his mouth, but he doesn't say anything- he's not used to someone panicking.

Would it be mean to pretend she is dreaming? She's certainly in a good position to be 'woken up'..

No, he can't do that.

"Don't be like that, Siku," he murmurs finally, "I don't think we're - er- you're dreaming, I mean I'm pretty sure I'm awake, but it's not a bad thing to have visions! Normal isn't important."

He walks over to her and leans down, nudging at the paws over her eyes with his nose.

"It IS important..." She whined, keeping her paws planted firmly on her eyes. It wasn't okay, not in the least bit at all! Siku reamined 'hidden' for some time, before what Kijibwa said really hit her. Prying her paws to glance up to Kijibwa a moment, she remained hunkered down on the ground, tail thumping in worry and panic. Realizing that he wasn't kidding, Siku finally adjusted herself to sit up fully, eyes remaining fixed on her paws.

"But.. I mean.. it's.. so unusual.." she murmured dissapointedly, saddened that she was turning out to be so weird. Sighing, she looked back up to Kijibwa, eyes filled with worry and sadness.

"I..if you don't want to travel with me anymore, I understand.." She said quietly, looking away from Kijibwa again. Why would he want to travel with her? She was so.. weird.
"I really understand, and you won't hurt my feelings.."
