December 9th Dear Journal,
I can't believe it! Matilda found a wand today that went kind of haywire. Instead of being awakened and going through the normal stages, an infant emerged from it. She's a beautiful little girl, a Sidhe child...Oh I'm SO glad to have a baby again...
I've named her Coailiann....It means 'white' in Gaelic...I think that's gaelic anyway.
Anyway...I'm also worried about my work. How am I going to find Matty's wands for her with an infant? Especially one who will not be growing up as fast as Matty did...
I'm glad that she won't...because it pains me to love them and then watch them grow up so quickly, but...How can I handle her and all the other wands and owners? I fear I won't be able to keep up.
She just cooed now...Meaning she woke up from her nap and probably wants a bottle. I've found she likes to eat in the headquarter gardens...so that's where I'm off to.
Excitedly!

December 16th Dear Journal,
Matilda sent me on an expedition in the jungles of India to find a wand. So I had to leave Coailiann with her. Needless to say, I fretted the entire time due to the fact that Matty has absolutely no experiance with children.
Perhaps she was a midwife in another lifetime, but not in THIS one damnit! It makes me nervous...especially when she was in another realm...Anyway...
I got bit by a cobra and lost the use of my left arm. Thankfully, I'm right handed or I wouldn't be able to write. Matty says I'll be able to use the other arm in about a month, but until then, she has Coailiann since I can't take care of her.
Hopefully no other wands are found. I doubt I could swing from the trees in Albania or something with only one arm.
It's so lonely, though. Coailiann was giving me something to do at least, and now I'm just...alone.
I should go nap now.

December 22nd Dear Journal,
Coailiann is finally back with me, and my arm has finally got some limited use back. I've been doing my exercises dutifully in an attempt to get it back to full capacity...I have so missed the little Sidhe.
She's GROWN as well! I mean, not to the extreme that Matilda has, but...She's gotten bigger, and a bit chubbier...which was good because she was so pale and tiny when I first got her.
Matilda said that she was a good baby for her...maybe it was because she was the one who found her. The moment she came back she started crying until I brought her to the gardens and sat down in the hammock. I started to swing back and forth and she just instantly stopped her fussing.
I've started her on rice cereal...or tried to, anyway. She managed to get it all over the walls in an attempt to avoid it. I think she'll miss the bottle but...she's old enough to start on solid foods, I think. She's about five months old now.
I've come to the conclusion I'll need to wear a full space suit to avoid getting the cereal in my eyes...It's hard enough with a half unusable arm but...Oh well, I can see where she's coming from, I suppose.
Kay is going to be needing some interaction soon. One of the other wand owners brought her a christmas gift, a bottle of goo...and she seems transfixed by it. Whenever she's around it she gets really quiet and reaches out for it...it's really cute. I'll have to send a thankyou letter out.
Anyway, it's time for lunch. I wonder how much will get in it's target this time?

December 23rd Dear Journal,
Does my life get any easier? Truely, any at all? Matilda sent me to egypt to find a new wand in the middle of the night, and I was there for literal hours. Coailiann had been left alone (Much to my displeasure).
When I got back, the sun was already rising and the little Sidhe was bawling so loudly I thought my head would explode. Apparently, she does NOT like being left alone. I don't quite understand why, as here is probably the safest she'll ever be...being in Matilda's realm but...Well, to each their own I suppose.
Right now, I'm sitting here staring at this fiery wand and cradling my daughter in my arms as I write. She's happily sucking on her thumb and making little baby noises that just make me so happy.
It almost is enough to have me forgive Matty. Almost.
Oh crap, Coailiann just kind of spit up...I should go clean her up and take her for her daily stroll in the gardens. She's getting bigger and has started to pull flowers out of their beds, however....I'm going to have a handful when she gets older!

December 25th
Dear Journal,
Today was a busy day. Coailiann's first christmas! Patrick sent his kids, Akuti and Iamel over to have Christmas with us for the day...something about Mordread having a surprise for him, or something. The kids absolutely adored it.
I positively spoiled all the kids, Matilda included...Coailiann got some new stuffed animals and other toys, as well as a new crib for her room..it's white and it has pink roses that match the blanket she came wrapped in, painted on it. She also got some new clothes.
I gave Iamel a coin collection and a mini hand-held fan that has lights on it...they flash in really pretty designs and I had just fallen in love with it. Also gave him a few new video games which he seemed to adore. He's a good kid, really, if you treat him like one.
Akuti is adorable, I gave her a book of myths, some hair clips, some clip-on jeweled earrings and a porcelain doll. She seemed to really love the little doll.
I love kids, I really do. Even if I don't tend to act like it much...I guess it's the fact that mine tend to grow up far too quickly. Coailiann is already sitting up and crawling on her own...soon she'll be able to talk and walk and...It's just happening so quickly.
Well, it's late and I've had a long day. Time for me to sleep! Merry Christmas!

December 26th
Dear Journal,
Coailiann said her FIRST WORD TODAY! It was so amazing to hear my little girl speak! Albeit, the word she said wasn't the best to hear your daughter say for the first time..."No".
But it was still great!
Patrick brought Lahela, his new daughter over, and they seemed to get along pretty well. It was nice to see her interact with someone other than myself or Matilda. She needs more time with kids her age..I don't exactly want her to be anti-social.
It turns out she's pretty possessive over things she owns too...which is good. She'll take care of her things better...then again, she may also have a hard time sharing, which isn't a good thing.
I missed out on all this with Matilda, I honestly have no clue on how to handle this. I'll figure it out, I'm sure. Maybe I'll ask Patrick...eh...She just woke up and is crying to go outside.
Maybe she'll start walking soon!...Wait...that may not be a good thing.

Well..he was back. It was the day after christmas For those who don't know about us narking with time - he was back from the Island and there was a feathery yearling parrot girl strapped to the front of him. she was bouncing and clacking her beak together, little feathered arms waving in the air as Patrick, her and the wand moved into the wand shop.
"Ianna? Matilda?" He called out, glancing around.A little bag was tied around the front of the wand, keeping the wisp from blowing away amidst the cold wind that day. "It's Patrick! C'mout, C'mout, wherever you are! The thing is molting!"
Ianna stepped from the back room, a small smile on her lips as she bounced the cooing Coailiann in her arms. Her left arm seemed a little better than before, and she seemed quite happy at the moment.
She had finally fed the little Sidhe without the food being spattered all over the walls.
"Ahhh, so yours is the second to grow to a wisp, Patrick. Congratulations. How's it---" she paused seeing the little girl. "Oh! She's precious!"
Coailiann cooed as she looked over to the birdy and made a little sound, which actually made it seem she was trying to chirp LIKE a bird. Hands clapped gleefully as she stretched them out, making little grabby hands.
Ianna shook her head. "No, Kay."
"Yeah, he turned into this wispy little thing on the boat ride to get Lahela." The dark man paused before glancing down, grinning at the little parrot in the baby-thing, strapped to his chest.
"THIS is Lahela, actually. She was a scientific experiment, I'm getting paid to take care of her like a parent but gods--" The boy put the wand securely into his back pocket (where it was less likely to be grabbed and used harshly) before unhooking the parrot girl, lifting her up easily. "--Isn't she bloody adorable? I swear to god, I melted. Mordread had a happy-mommy type fit. It was cute."
A crooked grin, a ring-covered finger moving to rub the top of the girls beak. She trilled, softly, eyes flutering closed for a brief second. "She's a doll, too. Just...kind of insistant sometimes. How's yours?"
Ianna sat herself down and set Coailiann down on the ground. She immediately started to crawl around the room, putting random things in her mouth. "Coailiann!" she said with exhasperation and stood once more, picking the babe up and putting her in her playpen instead, handing her a teething ring. "There."
Once her daughter was situated she looked to the darker man. "Oh, rebellious and loud as ever..perhaps you'd like to put Lahela in the pen with Kay? And...Well, wisps are usually the shortest stage, from what Matty says..." she paused. "It'll be a baby ghost soon."
"Does that mean I don't have to worry about it blowing away then?" His voice pitched to something almost desperate, cuddling the little girl close before moving over to that little pen.
"She won't try to hit her or anything, will she? Lahelas bones are hollow and I'm a little paranoid about them breaking.."
He frowned down at the clacking, chirruping baby in his arms. Rebellious she was as well... Girls. PAH.
Ianna shook her head. "Kay isn't violent." she said softly and watched the little girl chew on her teething ring. "She's actually a sweetheart, when she's not rebelling against something or another."
The woman paused and then shook her head again, remembering he had asked about the wisp. "You have to be careful with it, still. This is it's most delicate stage." "Okat..." His voice was soft, rubbing the other babys beak before moving closer to the pen, giving her cheek a soft kiss. A quiet laugh at her squaking croak and he put the little girl down into the pen.
"It's a kid... always have to be careful of them anyway." he shrugs slightly. "What'll happen if it gets blown away? I mean... is it dead? Or just...not visible?"
Ianna gnawed on her lower lip. "If it's blown away, it should regather but....the baby may be slightly deformed...." She didn't really like the sound of that...not at all.
Deformed babies didn't look cuddly and cute. And it wasn't very nice to do to a baby anyway.
Ianna offered Patrick one of the comfortable seats on the couch and sat herself down on one herself, abandoning the stool behind the desk. "Sit, if you'd like to." she murmured, eyes watching the two girls.
Coailiann looked positively enthralled by the parrot-girl and crawled curiously over at her, emerald green eyes giving a brilliant light off...as she did when she was actually interested in something and reached out to gently stroke. "Gurgleglifuh." she managed in her baby speak, giggling and clapping her hands afterwards. She was smart, but hadn't quite said her first word yet. She was still only about five or six months old.
"I don't want to deform it... I was just scared. Now even more so." A grin, slightly nervous, and he shifted his thin body to rest on the seat of the couch. That frame sank a little, his head tilting back to squint at the ceiling.
"...when's it become a baby? I mean..smoke and wand are pretty easy, but I keep freaking out about when it's going to be a real flesh and blood baby." He was always a curious creature, speaking more to the wall then to Ianna. "We've decided on names, though. Yashima, for a boy. Ayame for a girl."
Lahena clacked her beak once or twice in confusion at being left, arms flailing with a loud trill. her head twisted to nibble at Kays neck, prying tongue sliding at lap at the skin near her beak.
Hrm. Weird taste.
Instead of biting down to find out, she just wriggled, hand rising up to pat at Kay as well.
Ianna reached at the fridge, pulling out a bottle of water for herself and then looking at him. "Eh, it's not a stupid being. Your baby will come when it's safe, not when it's dangerous, so that should rest your fears."
A pause. "Those are lovely names." she said "Would you like anything from the fridge?"
Coailiann didn't know how to react to being nibbled at and was still and silent for a moment before giving a little squeel and mimicking the bird baby, nipping at her with her little mouth, which had several tiny teeth in it.
It wouldn't hurt the bird however, and she giggled, clapping her hands again. "Buh!"
"Well, I figured 'Inari' would bring the wrath of the gods on my head and 'kitsune' would just be redundent." A soft snicker, head shaking before he turns back to the girl.
A faint smile, colored nails drumming gently on the edge/arm of the couch. "Water? Juice?" He liked juice. Juice was good. XD
She squealed none the less, small frame wriggling. A little move and she was crawling. Surprisingly flexible for a small thing, she wriggled her way around the other, croaking out a shrill noise. "Ghada!"
Lahelas words werent exactly smooth...but she had one.
A nod and she pulled out a bottle of apple juice. "I would have thought you'd choose a beer myself." she chuckled and closed the door, handing him the bottle and unscrewing the top to her water.
"Mmm, yes that's logical. Are you nervous or excited and happy or...?" she was curious at how the darker man was taking it.
Coailiann giggled and gnawed on her teething ring instead and then offered it to the other little girl with glee. Such a cheerful little girl at the moment. She had a friend, or so she considered already.
"Anuhbah!"
"I'm not a big drinker ta begin with. And I like juice." he snickered softly, tucking his legs up against his chest. "Juice makes you feel better and refreshes you...alcohol numbs the senses. I don't like senses being numbed. Pisses me off."
Dark eyes slant back to the girls playing in the pen. Unbidden, a smile pulled at his full lips, leaning a bit on the arm of the couch. "..nervous, I guess." a shrug, glancing back at her with a little frown. "Excited, 'cause Inari is like..my favorite god EVER but...not exactly happy. I never thought that I would ever have kids - let alone so many."
"Burrbagh?" She creeled out, pecking and gnawing at the teething ring, downy feathers puffing out with a churr. Her head tilted a little bit, nipping at the hardened thing.
Lahela twisted her frame around, beady black eyes peering at her father, searching with a croon. "Dabah!" Croak, chubby hands banging on the teething ring, as if showing it up. "Daaabaaah!"
Ianna gave a chuckle. "Yeah, well you're good with them...and Yashima or Ayame picked you because you were right for them." she smiled and watched the children.
"I can see that you love that girl. I love my Kay as well. Trust me, I was not a baby person until I found Matilda..." she chuckled again and looked over. "They're sweet together."
Coailiann poked at Lahela and giggled again, trying to get the little parrot's attention. Kay was an attention whore
"You sound like Shanuh. He said that Iamel picked me too...but Iamel seems pretty ********' miserable with me."
A quiet grumble, glancing at her with a faint smile, peeking back at the girls. "I think Lahela is happy to see a kid her age. 'Ccording to the monkey girl - Ruby? - she's the only Boundless her age right now."
A soft sigh, shaking his head and taking a chug of his juice.
Her head swiveled back to Coailiann, croaking out something off, beak clacking again and her small frame crawled past the sidhe, hands moving up to pat at the silverish hair.
"Geee."
Ianna smiled. "All kids go through that phase sooner or later...but...It'll get over with." she gave a sigh. "Lord knows I'm still going through it with my daughter, and she's an Ancient...though she's only been around....a year." she blinked. Had it been a year already?
Coailiann looked to Lahela and gave her somewhat of a child-baby-like hug, cooing and offering her a teddy bear.
"I swear though, Coailiann is nothing like her sister."
"Meh. Him and Akuti argue a lot... I'm praying Foxkit and Lahela get along.." A slow smile, head tilting to peer at her with a soft chuckle. "A year is pretty fast for kids who grow quickly. I've had Iamel since...
"October?"
Head tilt, studying of the teddy bear. "...churr?" Voice slow and hesitant, leaning against Kay before grabbing at the bear.
It promptly got its ear gnawed on.
Ianna gave a smile. "She was grown within two months. She saw how much it hurt me but..." she shrugged. "That's why she altered the spell a little bit. "She didn't want anyone else to go through what I went through.
"They'll get alone fine, I trust that."
Coailiann gave a possesive little squeel as the bear was gnawed on and pulled it back "NO!"
Ianna blinked...Kay had said her first word. "OH MY GOD!"
He couldn't help but laugh, softly, nodding a little bit with a faint, amused smile. "I hope you're--" Kays voice broke through the silence and his eyes snapped open, facing the other with a faint gawk.
"..whoa. She just talked." Grinning a little bit, hopping towards them, his juice still in hand. Lahela stared at the other, those little beady eyes filling up and... she promptly starting her shriek/croaking, writhing and wriggling on the floor, trying to get away from the angry one.
Ianna ran and picked her daughter up, swinging her around. "You talked! YOU TALKED!" she kissed her all over her little face, much to the infant's displeasure as she squirmed and squeeked.
She looked over to the little girl in the pen as she started shrieking and started to sing, her voice soothing and soft. Hopefully, that would calm them both down.
The singing didn't help the angry little parrot girl. Her arms flailed still and upset eyes were on Patrick as she squaked. Fingers grabbed at him, as close as she could, little baby self wriggling over to him.
She was still croaking.
Patrick sighed, bowing down and scooping the girl up. She croaked and shrilled once or twice before quieting down, beak nipping at his shirt affectionately.
He grinned crookedly, fingers moving to rub the soft downyness, his voice apologetic. "..she's not used to girls 'cept for the monkey girl who took care of her." Ianna gave a little nod of her head. "Well, it seems she already adores you." Ianna returned to cooing and kissing Coailiann, who, in displeasure, starting screaming and wailing.
The woman sighed and stopped, cradling the girl in her arms now and looking down at her. "Silly girl, you need to learn that crying and screaming isn't going to get you places. You can't always have what you want.
Coailiann's bright green eyes looked to the dark man and the birdie. She didn't have any clue who HE was, but he was holding her new friend. Which she didn't exactly LIKE at all. Small hands made grabby hands as she reached for Lahela, whimpering as if she had been kicked.
She didn't exactly have much interaction with anyone but Matty and Ianna, and those two were weird.
"We've gotten used to each other," He agreed, smiling a little and pressing a soft kiss to the little bird-girls forehead, nuzzling tenderly.
"She thinks Mordreads ears are fun but other then that, she won't let anyone else hold her." A wrinkled nose and he glanced at the sidhe, who was whimpering and grabbing at his daughter. "Put them back together? Coailiann seems ot like her."
Thus, the birdie was put back in the pen.
Lahela squealed and waved her arms about with great glee, giggling n her weird bird way, croaking over to Kay. The small feathery tail fluffed up, trilling softly. "Mah!"
Ianna chuckled a little. "Perhaps she'll let her other father hold her someday. How are you and Mordread doing anyway? Good, I hope?" She moved to the pen and set the little Sidhe child back in, moving back to the couch and sitting as she had before, watching her girl.
Coailiann, pleased to be out of her mothers arms, immediately skiddaddled to Lahela, clapping her hands with glee and reaching out to poke the little girl...softly. She was still facinated with the fact it was a bird. "La!" she called, offering the teddy bear again. Maybe Lahela had realized it wasn't food now!
"We're..." His face grew hot at the mention of his kitty lover, glancing away with something like...bashful ness? Not shame, oh no, but...bashful! It was kind of..cute, in a way, to see the big bad tough looking boy getting all bashful over the mention of someone else. "We're...really good."
A clearing of his throat, glancing back up at her, "Iamel adores you, I hope you know. The coin collection has him fascinated. He doesn't even glare at Akuti when she walks by!"
"...la?" She crooned, blinking those big black eyes at that poke. Chubby fingers took the bear and she nibbled at his eye only once before patting it on the head.
Giggle~ "Laaaaaaaaaaa. Bayah."
Ianna's eyes brightened knowingly. "Oooh...." he nodded her head. "I see. Well, that's lovely. I suppose me taking the kids that day..." she trailed off, heat touching her face as well. "Well, I'm glad I could help." she smirked as she took a sip of her water.
"Well, the kid's a sweetheart, at least, to me. I figured he just needs to be shown that he can be likeable if he wants. Also glad I could help in saving the adorable girl from him. How does she like the doll?"
Coailiann seemed relieved when Lahela stopped trying to eat her toy and then patting the bear as well. "Eeewah." she said, the name she had had for the bear. Eeewah...Ianna had no idea what it meant, and neither did Coailiann, but she liked it. It was pretty! Just like the shiny buttons used for the eyes. Coailiann liked shiny things.
"It wasn't like.. I mean..." He flustered out something stupid, head ducking a bit and rubbing at his cheeks, peeking back up at her shyly. "...yeah, thanks."
At her comment about Iamel, he glanced up again, lips slowly curling a slight frown. "He can be cute when he's with his friends, or it's just me and him...but he can be seriously...possesive. In a sort of scary way."
Lahela liked color. The little bear wasnt so colorful - so he just got another pat on the head and a confirmation of "Eeewah," Chortled out and she craned her head once to the side. Just making sure her Daddy was still there.
Arms rose and flailed again, small frame leaning over to nibble at the Sidhes scant hair gently with a trill. "Huuuwaaaaaah."
"Sure it wasn't like that." Ianna said knowingly, giving a little chuckle. "You're cute when you blush too, even if it's hard to see it." she giggled and looked down. "Any time you need it, let me know. Coailiann can use the interaction, she needs kids around."
Coailiann blinked as her hair was nibbled on and then giggled, poking at the bird yet again. The Sidhe wondered why exactly she was being nibbled on but...Oh well. She giggled yet again and clapped her hands. "Mine!"
Yet another word spoken...Ianna blinked. "Well...isn't today a big day..."

Ianna Umbridge had had a tiring Christmas. Four children - Iamel, Akuti, Coailiann, Matilda (Yes, her ancient daughter was sill considered a child to her), and a crap load of presents, made for a very busy day.
She had also gone the conventional route and made dinner from scratch, something she didn't do very often with the magic mini fridge in the headquarters lobby. That had gone over better than expected, but she was tired
The young woman was leaning against the desk in the dusty old wand shoppe, reading over her paperwork and through The Book of Life and Death which was ever-present. When she would have to pick up and go again was a mystery to her, but she hoped it was sometime after new years. She couldn't stand another trip so soon.
Coailiann, the little sidhe baby, was sitting up in her playpen beside her mother's desk, playing with the little teddy bear she had been given and singing a song in baby jibberish happily. Her little hands were clapping along as she bounced on the soft blankets that padded the bottom. She didn't know Why her mother wasn't giving her any attention, and she wanted it...but the little girl somehow sensed that her mother was busy and just remained entertaining herself.
And when the singing and clapping and bear got old, she occupied her time by staring at the dust that was floating throughout the entire room and being illuminated by the light shining through the higher window.
She was a kind of quiet, solemn person. Anyone who consciously described her that way must have met her before, because from the rumors floating around her old world, Stray was a cheerful, hyperactive girl, never quiet or solemn. The stranger thing was that she didn't look cheerful or hyperactive. She just looked dark.
As Stray stood in the main room of an old shop she'd found, she was trying her very best to not be conspicuous as she looked at the items displayed, attention usurped by music in her head. When a rythmical clapping noise stopped, she turned slightly towards the desk and stared blankly at a child in a playpen, blinking her wide black eyes slowly. "Hello." she said finally, not certain she would hear a reply.
Ianna jumped slightly, keen silvery eyes immediately moving to the figure who had stood in the middle of the room so quietly. "Urm, Hello." she blinked quickly and stood up.
There were no new wands...And rarely did people come into the shop without recieving a wand. Something pulled them in...But...Well, she couldn't dwell on that.
"Matilda, is there something you're not telling me?" she spoke, seemingly to herself since there was nobody else in the room except the little girl, and obvious she couldn't talk.
"No, mother. She, in all logic, shouldn't be here." came the voice in her head, one only Ianna could hear.
"Strange, very..Well, anyway." her eyes remained locked on the woman. "Welcome to Ghosts of the Past..I..Uh...Guess." confusion showed clearly on her features.
Coailiann's green eyes turned on the woman who was so obviously flustering her mother. "Agubah!" she sang cheerfully and clapped her hands again. Anything that flustered her mother was good in her book.
Of course. If there was a child, there was to be a mother nearby. "Hello, madame." Stray managed a slight bow before having to straighten again, her head aching. She pressed fingertips to her temples, hissing slightly. Was she hungover?... no. She hadn't gone out last night. "I'm sorry for intruding. I am called Stray, if it pleases you." Her voice was polite, calm, and almost blank. "I just noticed this shop and came in to see what was here."
She looked down at Coailiann, black eyes like emotionless tunnels into darkness. "Agubah indeed."
Ianna chuckled softly. "No..no intrusion, just...not used to...uh..um..." she scratched her head lightly, brushing her messy silver hair from her face. Her hair was nearly always frazzled and frizzy and wild...well, yours would be too if you had to go what she did.
"I'm Ianna, and the babe there is Coailiann...Kay for short." She looked around the room. "The wands here are all De...I mean, for sale." she said and then sat herself back down. "If you wish to look."
Her shop was incredibly dusty, as if it hadn't been lived in or touched for a very long time. The boxes were positively COVERED in dust...but then again, the only thing not dusty was the playpen and the desk.
Inside the boxes, however, the wands and artifacts and 'shinies' as she called them, were in perfect condition.
Coailiann looked at Stray quizzically. Did she understand her? "Abugala! Kizu!" her little baby speech was excited. Maybe she could finally tell someone she was HUNGRY without screeching like a maniac.
"I think your daughter's hungry." Stray said after a moment, blinking. "She is yours, right?" She absentmindedly rubbed her left hand. The sphere set in it was starting to ache... she really needed to find a Rune Crest before life really started to act up. The black-clad girl walked over to the playpen and crouched down to be at Coailiann's eye level, returning the quizzical look. "She can't possibly be a human child." she decided, still rubbing the blue crystal. "She's one of those... Not-beings." Stray had seen Fa'e and other humanoid beings wandering about, and was reminded with a shiver of the Lifeless Beings.
She was hesitant to apply the term she used for Fa'e and Doushikai to Kay-Coailiann. She was too small, too cute, to be a Lifeless Being.
Ianna's eyes moved to Coailiann and she smiled. "Probably...I should probably get some rice cereal for her, or something.." she blinked. "Though, It's not exactly safe for her to eat here..I'd have to go the main lobby, if you'd care to join me? It's nice, and I can offer you something to eat, drink, and a comfy couch to sit on."
She wasn't exactly describing the headquarters properly, she supposed, but it was nice. Really nice. "I'd rather not get her cereal all over the wands...She tends to throw things around."
That's because it's nasty, thought Coailiann as she reached out for Stray happilly. She DID understand her, it seemed! That made her happy and she giggled, clapping her hands again and grasping at a lock of Stray's hair, instantly putting it into her mouth which had only a few teeth in it. "Numnum!"
"Ow!" Stray yelped when Coailiann pulled her hair. It wasn't that long, really, and it hurt when pulled. With eyes watering, she looked up at Ianna. "Madame, might I suggest something other than rice cereal? I don't think she likes it." The damned crystal ached a little worse now, but her hair was distracting her at the moment. You're not lifeless at all, are you? Stray thought distantly. I don't know why I understand you... maybe it's the Crystal. Thrice-bedamned sun-cursed moon-belittled son of a salset goat that the Cruxis Crystal was, it wasn't like she could take it off. It would turn her into a monster. It was her parasite and a part of her, now. She'd made it what it was, desired it to be more than just any other Exsphere. And now it was. And do I ever regret it.
"I'll come with you- may I carry- Coailiann, you said her name was?"
Ianna raised a brow as Coailiann put the woman's hair in her mouth and then shook her head. "No, Kay, you don't do that." she looked apologetically at the woman. "I'm sorry, she tends to think everything is hers....." a pause.
"Well, she's JUST getting started on solids and..." she looked a little nervous. "I don't quite know what's good for her or not...And.." then suddenly remembering an earlier comment. "No, she's not human, and yes, you may carry her."
She stood up from her stool and opened the door to the side of the desk and started to step in. "Just be careful she doesn't decide to eat your hair all up." she murmured and waited for the woman to pick her daughter up.
Coailiann, sensing she was being taken out of the god awful pen, squeeled in glee. When she was picked up, she simply lay her head sleepily on the woman's shoulder and closed her green eyes. She liked this lady! Why couldn't She be her guardian! Or...at least A guardian? The chances of her seeing the woman again after this were slim to none. She didn't like those odds.
"Gublah." she said sleepily and stuck her thumb in her mouth, waiting to be carried to the lobby and face her doom of rice cereal.
What Ianna said made sense, but Stray didn't have it in her anymore to make others, even babies, do what they didn't want to. So she combed her mind for an alternative, any alternative, before lighting on something. When she was small, instead of rice cereal, she used to have-- "Apples... if you dice them quite small. My mother fed that to me... and all my siblings." A twinge of hurt in Stray's heart, then she inaudibly sighed. "I will dice them, if you like. I know my way around a kitchen..." At least fruit. She resettled the child slightly on the shoulder away from her brooch, shrugging slightly to move her jacket to make room for Coailiann's head before following Ianna.
Ianna stepped through the door, and quite literally, into another realm. The ceilings were high and edged with gold. Large chandeiliers were dripping with crystals, the floors were made of smooth white tile and covered with beautifully colored and woven rugs, and the walls were dotted with lovely paintings.
To the left, a recreation room with a large television, mini-fridge, comfy looking plush couches and chairs, video games, books, a basket of toys, crayons, dolls, cards...anything a little kid could possibly want, and not want...noting the playpens and walkers that caged little ones in.
To the right, a large and elaborate counter that only Ianna, Matilda and now Coailiann, could get behind. There was a large roster book laying on the top of it, and what appeared to be an appointment book.
A long hall seemed to stretch for a while, holding what seemed to be hundreds of doors, ending at last with a very VERY large ornate one...which lead to the gardens.
Ianna moved to the counter, pulled up a high chair that was sitting there, and placed it just outside the counter so Stray could place Coailiann in the contraption. She knew Kay hated it but...Eh, it was better than her painting the walls with her fingers.
"Apples sound fine...You can find whatever you need in the little refrigerator over there..." she pointed to the recreation "Room". The fridge was always full..and you could get whatever you even thought of from it.
Coailiann giggled gleefully as something other than rice ceral was heaven to her. And she had a feeling she'd like these...these apples that were mentioned. Apples...she liked the sound of that, and the lady who could understand her mentioned them so she had to like them...right? Right.
"Apple!" she said, her third word in two days.
Stray gently set in Kay, buckling her in quickly. "I'll be right back with your apples, okay?" she asked the little one, just like she'd say to her mother, or to Ianna. She ran a hand through her headful of red hair as she moved over to the minifridge, opening it and pulling out... a container of diced apples. "Do you have a boggart around here?" she asked, her tone marveling as she walked back over to Kay and placed the apples in front of her. "This reminds me of a house with a boggart that I once lived in."
Ianna shook her head. "Not that I know of, no. We're in a different realm now, nothing gets in without Matilda's and my permission..and soon enough, Coailiann's...but she won't be old enough for...at least a few years...I hope." she blinked. She didn't know exactly how the new spell worked.
Coailiann looked at the apples and grabbed at them, taking them and putting them in her mouth, which only had three or four teeth in it so far. "Numnum!" she said, even though half of them missed her mouth and bounced off the high-chair table and to the floor. She giggled gleefully once more and started to smack her little mouth around them, chewing best she could before swollowing and repeating the process.
SO much better than rice cereal.
Stray crouched down to sweep up the fallen peices of apple into one hand, turning her back to Ianna and Kay for a moment, praying to Efreet. Fire consumed her hands for hte barest moment, and the fallen apple peices collapsed to ash between her fingers and were absorbed. She turned back around when the black ash-marks were gone entirely. "So... what is a Ghost of the Past? I'm assuming they're like Coailiann... correct?"
Ianna nodded as she carefully penned in something in the roster, noting that Patrick's wand had wisped. She was dreadfully behind. "Yes, They're like Coailiann..." she had never told anyone other than a wand owner what they really were so she wondered how much she should really say.
Matilda mentally prodded her and she sighed. "But she's so helpful, and nice and..." another prod. "Well screw you too, miss high and mighty." she grumbled and straightened herself up, taking a small fan and fanning the ink to make it dry faster. "I can't really say more than that, or Matilda will...Well she won't be happy.
Coailiann made a face. She wanted her mommy to tell the woman what they were! What she was! A small dissatisfied whine came from the little Sidhe as she stuffed apples in her mouth again. Maybe SHE would tell...
"Aguhbah blahg kitka!" she burbled happily with the apples.
"I'm a Sidhe." was her basic message. She didn't know much of anything else. All she knew was she wasn't human, but the other had already guessed that. Either way, she did have the satisfaction of rebelling against her mother's wishes...somewhat.
"A sidhe?" Stray asked Coailiann. "Well, we might be friends then, Coailiann. I'm a Lifeless Being- I suppose you could call me an angel, but that's not right." She shrugged, pulling on an earlobe as she thought. Sidhe, in Tethe'alla and then the new world created after, were a kind of farm sprite. Did that mean that Coailiann would one day be able to make things grow like the Sidhe in the Gaoracchia Forest? I hope not.
Ianna sighed. "Well, Kay, you always find a way to do the opposite of what I want." she grumbled and then closed the roster, having updated what she needed to do. She knew that her little girl was rebellious, but jeeze...did she ever get a break?
Coailiann giggled softly. Another person like her? Lovely. She gnawed on some more apples. "Nuubah."
Neat!
Stray nodded. "Madame... would it be a problem if I came back sometimes? Just to the shop, I mean. It would be..." She looked for an appropriate word, one that wouldn't make it sound like she was watching Kay as a medical doctor watches a surgery. "...very nice... if I could. I'd like to watch Coailiann grow... if possible."
She didn't know what Ghosts of the Past were, but she wanted to help Ianna and Coailiann. She was new to this world. Stray wanted to make friends- away from her old world, the one she couldn't help protect.
Ianna shook her head. "I don't mind." she murmured, watching her interact with Coailiann. Her daughter seemed to like the woman, and she was pleasant enough. If it made Kay happy then..well...So be it. "And please, call me Ianna."
Coailiann perked up immediately. "GOOBLAHNU!" she screeched happily and offered the woman one of her now coveted apples, which was something big...Kay did NOT like to share, at all.
Stray took the apple cheerfully, smiling at Kay. "Thank you, Coailiann." She shifted the apple peice to her free hand, wondering blankly what to do with it. If she ate, she'd throw up. If she burned it, Kay would wonder why she didn't eat it. If she put it in her pocket for "later", it would still be suspicious...
If she just ate it, she could head off to the bathroom quite quickly. No need for them to know that she didn't... need to eat. Couldn't was a better word. "Excuse me." she said finally, turning her back to Coailiann and Ianna again, though she didn't quite make sure Ianna couldn't see the fire sheath her hands and the ashes, which should have drifted to the floor, absorbed.
Stray still felt sick. She had lied to a little, little one.
Ianna did indeed see it...and found it a little strange, but she didn't say anything. Coailiann didn't need to know that her offering had been burned to a crisp because she looked so darn cute and happy.
Coailiann smiled sweetly at the woman and gnawed on her apples once more, though several more pieces fell off the high chair and onto the floor, causing Kay to screech in displeasure.
"APPLE!!APPLE APPLE APPPLLLLE!" she screamed, tears welling in her cute green eyes.
She knelt to pick up the apples, murmuring 'three-second rule', but turning to Ianna. "Do you have a sink somewhere nearby so I can wash these off?" she inquired, gently ruffling Coailiann's hair. "I'd like to make sure Coailiann doesn't get sick, madame." she explained, blatantly ignoring Ianna's earlier comment about calling her by her first name.
Ianna smiled a bit. "There's a kitchen in...the...third door to the left in the hall." she said, pointing down the large grand hall with the hundreds of rooms. "There's a sink there."
Coailiann was too busy watching her apples being dropped and then picked up to understand what was being said, whimpering and whining that her last apples had been dropped and she couldn't eat them.
Stray dipped her head in a nod, following Ianna's instructions with a quick, "I'll give them back in a moment, Coailiann. They might make you sick if I give them back now," before trotting off to the kitchen she had been directed to.
Barely a minute later, Stray was trotting back out, placing the clean peices of apple, not minus one, in front of Kay again. "Madame? Who is Matilda? Should I not ask that?"
Coailiann smiled sweetly as she grabbed one of the apples and put it in her mouth, chewing quietly and contently to let the adults talk. It wasn't as if she could jump in and converse with them.
Ianna shrugged. "Matilda is the creator of Ghosts of the Past, she's my eldest daughter...she's...like Coailiann, though she's not a Sidhe. She's..it's hard to explain." she smiled a little bit, fondly. "She grew up too quickly for my liking, and is on her own now, though we talk telepathically."
Stray shivered slightly. "...I should be going." she said after a moment, rubbing her hands together. "If it is fine with you... I will return tomorrow." While waiting for a response, she shivered again. Created. People still create life here- do they take it, too? Do they make exspheres from the bodies of humans- A more horrifying thought occured. Is Cruxis here? Are there Desians? Creating life- oh Efreet, oh Undine, oh Slyph oh Celsius oh Volt-
Ianna nodded her head. "All right..." she murmured, giving a small smile. "I'd like for you to come see Coailiann again, she loves you already I can tell. She doesn't like people easily." she chuckled.
Coailiann sensed the woman was going to go and whimpered, banging her hands on the highchair. "Byebye!" she whined, gnawing on another piece of apple.
Stray nodded and bowed, ruffling Coailiann's hair and muttering a quick goodbye before heading out, head bowed.

Ianna sat quietly at her desk in the headquarters, writing updates on the wands status for her own pleasure and amusement. While she didn't seem like it, the woman really was quite organized...Even with her hair sticking out a million places at once, crooked glasses and a look in her eyes which said 'overworked', she tended to do things the simple organized way.
Coailiann was sitting in her high-chair, banging away at the tray with a wooden spoon that Ianna had given her to play with. Big. Bloody. Mistake. The little girl would NOT stop banging the plastic with the wood, creating 'music'. That. WAS NOT. Music.
At the same time, of course, she was stuffing diced apples into her mouth and chewing on them cheerfully, not caring that half of the chewed apple was spraying everywhere as she screeched with songs in her own baby babble. "LALLLAAAA GUHLAH!!! LALA!!!! NOOOO!!!!"
She also didn't seem to care that Ianna was slowly being driven insane by the racket and was damn near close to putting on rain golashes and a jacket to keep the slimey, sticky, half chewed fruit off her body.
"Coailiann...Baby, please stop so mommy can wo--" promptly, a piece of apple was levitated into her mouth to shut her up. Smart baby, no? Ianna didn't find it very humorous in the least.
Spitting out the apple, Ianna stood up and started to go towards the high chair, a glare in her silver eyes. This didn't exactly go over well with the banging music making baby...
Wide green eyes stared at her angry mother...and promptly, in purely self defense (which she would have claimed, had she been able to talk), she levitated the wooden spoon OVER Ianna's head...and THWACKED her with it.
Ow. THAT ******** HURT. Ianna hissed softly, grabbed the spoon, broke it in half, and threw it across the room. Calming herself down enough to speak, she whispered. "Coailiann, mommy needs to work now. So you're going to be a good little gi--"
As usual, she was cut off...this time, by a flying apple...WHOLE this time, hitting her in her head. Coailiann, of course, found this insanely funny and giggled, clapping her hands.
Ianna rubbed her head. "Jesus bloody christ." she muttered under her breath. "There's a demon in this little Sidhe, isn't there?"
She managed to make her way to the high chair (dodging several more flying apples and apple slices), and picked her daughter up. "Back to rice cereal for you."
Coailiann...started to...WAIL. Loudly. As if she had been beaten...which Ianna severely wanted to do. "Yeah yeah cry all you want, little booger, you're back to rice cereal, and no gardens for a week. You do NOT hit mommy with flying fruit and wooden spoons young lady! You just DO NOT do that!"
This caused Coailiann to wail even louder, if that was possible, giving Ianna an even bigger headache. "MATILDA DO SOMETHING ABOUT HER CRYING BEFORE I THROW HER ACROSS THE BLOODY ROOOOOOM!"
Without a word, the harp started playing, instantly putting the little sidhe baby into a sleepy stupor, small thumb finding her mouth.
"God thank you god." she murmured, rocking the little girl until she murmured sleepily and finally fell asleep. Ianna promptly went to the nursary and set her in her new crib.
"Sleep." she hissed and walked out, carefully closing the door behind her. Her family was definitely trying to kill her.

Ianna sat quietly behind the desk in the Wand Shoppe, head in her hands, elbows resting on the smooth surface of the wood. Her silver eyes were closed, trying to get rid of the headache which pounded through her.
Thankfully her arm was completely healed, or it would have been rather hard to get into the position she was.
The shop was more dusty than usual, and was tickling her daughter's nose, causing a multitude of sneezes to fill the room. "Coailiann, stop disturbing the boxes and the dust won't be in the air, and you won't sneeze."
Coailiann was having too much fun crawling around the room and playing with the wand boxes. Her cooing and sneezing mixing together to make a mixture of sounds that made her head pound worse. "Please be quiet, Kay..."Lucian blew into the shop like a firestorm, not bothering to look at the sign on the door to even see if it was open. He held a baby at arm's length though, and wore an expression of unmistakable horror, so it wasn't too hard to guess what was going on. "Jesus CHRIST I'm never feeding you again if this is all you do!" The child, meanwhile, looked smug. Ianna blinked as the door flew open, the bells normally light jingling going crazy from the jolt.
"Ah God damn...." she blinked yet again and stared at the man and baby. "Where's the fire?" she asked, rubbing at her head, silvery hair becoming even more a mess than usual. Ianna was NOT used to people storming into her shop, especially people who did not OWN A WAND.Coailiann looked up with her emerald green eyes to see a man and another baby. A baby! YAY! Less adults...well, not really, but she'd actually MAYBE get a chance to interact with a child. "Aguhbah! BABY!" she screeched happily, clapping her hands...something she had taken to doing a lot lately.
Ianna just glared.Lucian's ears flattened, followed by Michael's. It would've been a cute moment, had there not been a wretched stench permanating the store. It was creeping in slowly now, taking over without warning. Baby geurilla warfare. Evil. "Bathroom." Gray eyes flicked over to the other child in the room. Grudging thoughts. That one probably didn't interrupt an after Christmas shopping spree with a stink bomb detonation. Why'd he get stuck with the evil baby? Oh yeah.... he was evil. Ianna sighed. "You'll have to...go into the headquarters for a bathroom, there's none in the immediate shop." she stood up and walked over to Coailiann, picking her up in her arms. She didn't seem bothered by the smell...after two kids of her own, she was used to it.
"Follow me." Ianna turned and walked towards the door beside the desk, opening it and walking through. It did, of course, lead to a very very large place. High ceilings, edged with gold, the large chandeliers dripping with crystals, the smooth white tile-floors, colorful rugs, and beautiful paintings.
To the left was a large recreational area complete with a large flat-screen television, several rows of various games, movies, video game systems and books. There was a basket of toys in the corner, full of plushies, dolls, cards and various other objects which would appeal to most ages. Included in the area were several comfy looking couches and plush chairs just made for sitting, lounging or bouncing in. It seemed to be heaven on a fluffy carpet. It even had a foos-ball table and an air-hockey table....and for the slightly more food-minded GoTP, a mini fridge always full.
To the right was a large elaborate counter, which seemed to have a force-field of some sort around it, keeping anyone who was not Ianna or Matilda from going behind it. On the counter lay a roster with the names of all the Ghostly children and their guardians, and an appointment book.
From there, it branched off into halls with rows and rows of rooms. Some were storage, some were guest rooms, some were bathrooms, and one very large and ornate door to the end of the hall led to the gardens.
"The bathroom is third door to the left." she murmured, setting Coailiann in the playpen, much to the child's displeasure.Coailiann's nose scrunched up, almost as if she were going to have a hissy fit. She HATED the playpen! It closed her in and kept her from crawling around and moving. She despised it! She LOATHED it...And so, she began to squeel and cry. Maybe THAT would get the message across, darnit!Michael peered around curiously as he was carried through the rooms and hallways. Everything shined and sparkled and glowed under the bright lights. There were matching colors and what looked like breakable things on the shelves. The anthro-kitten was in awe. Look at all the mischief he could get into here! Then he saw the cage. The woman put the other child in the cage and he frowned. So that's what they did nowadays... How medieval. Then he smiled toothily. At this point, he didn't smell too 20th century, himself. Lucian followed wordlessly, slowly defrosting. He had sort of busted in... He'd have to thank her later. Ianna hissed when Coailiann started to screech and picked the infant up, setting her on the floor so she could crawl around. She had been getting much too curious for Ianna's liking, but right now her head hurt too much for her to worry about that. She just wanted it ti stop.
"Again..bathroom...that way." she pointed down the hall. "Third on left." she managed as she sat on the couch, once more holding her head. "And I swear to god, if you can get that girl to stop crying, I'll be your slave."
Coailiann immediately stopped her squeeling and crawled to her mother, gnawing on her toes with her half-toothless mouth.Lucian chuckled, then gurgled. Opening his mouth was a mistake.... A few minutes of fiddling later, ("HolyHELLhowdoesthatwork?" "NOIjustcleanedthat!" "AHHHHH!") father and son reappeared. The former still did not look pleased, but the latter was grinning from furry ear to furry ear, his stub of a tail wriggling happily. Lucian deposited his devil child on the floor and wiped his hand on this pant legs. "Ah, yes. Thank you for that... I'm sorry for barging in..." Ianna shook her head. "It's fine...Just not used to people other than gua--I mean...Nevermind." she lifted her head and offered a smile. "Cute kid..." her silver eyes looked to Michael, of whom Coailiann was observing.
Coailiann reached out and poked Michael's ear, a small smile on her cute face. "Babyyyy!" she cooed, tugging on the ear very softly. She was a sweatheart, really, when she wasn't trying to drive her mother crazy.Michael looked up at his father, aghast. This girl had just dared touch him! Had his father seen that? What was wrong with the world when a perfect stranger could-- Tug. She'd tugged on his EAR! Lucian laughed, seeing the kitten's mouth fall open in mute rage. "Oh, shut up and let her have her fun. You tried to pull that one little girl's wings off, remember? Be glad she's playing nice." The kitten's eyes narrowed. Well, since he'd done it, it was an obvious exception. This was not. But he sat there, grudgingly, and examined the girl as she messed up his fur. If she had a weakness, he'd find it. "He doesn't talk," Lucian explained. "But he still manages to be a pain in the a**. I think he actually knows how, but he's just holding out to annoy us." He shook his head, smiling, then extended a hand. "Hi, I'm Lucian. And the stinkpot is my son, Michael." Ianna chuckled softly, now that everything had calmed down, her headache was waning into a very dull ache rather than the sharp pain. Her delicate white hand lifted and gave Lucian's a small squeeze. "Ianna, and the little sidhe babe over there is Coailiann, but we call her Kay. She's just learning to talk...and crawl..and levitate things. She bonked me with an apple and a spoon in the head yesterday."
Coailiann looked to Michael curiously and offered him a little smile, her green eyes glittering. He was very different than the bird-girl she had met..she was loud and trilled and had FEATHERS and was very very very colorful. This little thing...had kitty ears! "Kitty." she said and then pet his ear softly. "Kitty kitty kitty.""Levitation? Wow... I think I'd go crazy if he learned how to do that..." Michael's ears perked. If he learned what? What could this girl teach him about being annoying? Patpatpat. Beyond the obvious of course. Slowly he reached out a finger and placed it on Kay's nose. Then pushed her backward. "Yeah...She lives to drive me crazy." a soft little sigh. Ianna loved her daughters dearly, but she had a feeling both were trying to kill her in their own indirect way.
Coailiann giggled softly, levitating about half an inch in the air. "FWEEEEEEEE" she couldn't levitate herself much yet, but she could get toys. And right now, she wanted Michael.
He was a toy to her...at least at the moment. Concentrating, the little boy rose about half a foot in the air and was promptly dropped in her lap. "KITTTTYY!"Michael struggled and mewled at the sudden feeling of weightlessness. He pawed plaintively at the air and tumbled head over feet before toppling into the little girl's lap. And he looked up, horrified, into her smiling face. Had she done this? She had, hadn't she?? This girl was evil! Tossing him about like a puppet... Michael's eyes narrowed. No one made him do things he didn't want to. He was a free spirit, baby, yeah. A loner. Roaming from town to town on his motorcy-- well, maybe not, but still. The idea was still there. He couldn't have people thinking he could just be picked up and plopped in their lap any old time! HE WAS NOT A LAP KITTY! Tiny feline fangs gleamed in the light as the kitten boy smiled. Lucian caught sight of that look. "Michael! No!" He rushed forward, but it was too late. A warm wetness spread across Kay's lap thanks to Lucian's incompetent diapering.
Coailiann's face scrunched up as she was peed on and SCREAMED. A shrill, loud scream that would have broken glass had Ianna not shoved a teething ring in her mouth to shut her up.
Coailiann spat out the teething ring and glared at the little boy, tugging at his ear. Hard. "NO BAD KITTY!" she said, green eyes seeming to light up. Nobody pee'd on HER! SHE was in charge in THIS place.
Ianna may THINK she was, but Coailiann knew better. All she had to do was bat her sweet little eyelashes and she got what she wanted. "BAD BAD KITTY!"
Great. Now she smelled like pee.Michael hissed and spat, shaking his head violently to wrench the girl's hand from his ear. He batted at her and scrambled from her lap fleeing to the safety of his father's legs. He clung to the gray sweatpants and glared at the girl. It was a draw this time. Lucian was mortified. "I am so sorry... I... I am terrible sorry..." Coailiann crawled to her mother and clung to her as well, furiously suckling at her thumb and smelling of the kitty's urine. She was pissed. And wanted a bath. But mostly, she was pissed.
Ianna was having a hard time NOT laughing. "No no, she shouldn't have done what she did, I'm sorry..." she reached down and stroked her fingers through the white hair of her daughter. "She thinks she's queen of the world, but she's not.
"Too!" piped up Kay's little voice.Lucian coughed, picking up his son gingerly and realizing he'd need to be cleaned yet again. "Yes, well, still... He obviously isn't in the most patient of moods today." He paused. What would Brina say if she were here? Oh yes... "Maybe they could have a playdate sometime to get used to each other. Michael can't keep thinking that he's fine without friends or he'll become an overlord or something." Can so, Michael huffed in his father's less than loving embrace. "Coailiann isn't. She's going through 'the change'. Going into a toddler, she is, and it's actually quite scary. I'm not used to it..Matilda, my other daughter, well she was easy. She was FAST. She grew up in about two months." A pause. "But, I think a play date would be nice."
Coailiann glared at the little boy as she sucked her thumb and listened to their parents. No way in HELL she was going to play with that little boy now. Not after he WET himself on her.He shook his head. "I'm not sure he'll ever grow up... though he does act better around his mother, though I'm not sure if it's out of fear or awe. I'll make her bring him round next time." Lucian chuckled at the idea of sticking Brina with Michael for the day. It turned out to be ironic naming him the same as an angel. "Well, it was nice to meet you, Miss, and I hope to see you again soon under better... ah... circumstances... but I suppose we'd better get this taken care of." The kitty-boy had to agree. Things were starting to get cold and clammy. Ianna gave a nod of her head, and laughed at Coailianns squeel. "Apparently, Kay agrees...It was nice meeting you two." she said softly and looked down at her daughter. "And next time you be nice."
She indicated to the door. "The way out is there, and if you could lock the shop door on your way out...it'd mean a lot."

It seemed the Christmas season was the busiest time for Ianna simply because in the last few weeks, so many wands had come into existance, that she had yet to find homes for at least one of them. The Christmas wand, ironically, had yet to find a home. It was sitting behind the main shop's desk at the moment, most probably collecting dust.
Ianna, on the other hand, was sitting on the couch reading the book she had been so rudely interrupted with to find the southern wand. Thankfully, she had found the owner the next day. And now, she was free - for the time being - and lounging in the headquarters.Coailiann was sitting in the playpen - the damned contraption - happily gnawing on some slices of apple that her mother had given her. It had taken her a lot of crying to get them, especially after the stunt she had pulled with the apples previously, but she got them. She always got what she wanted! No more of that icky rice cereal.
And she was still peeved at that cat boy for peeing on her. She wasn't a toilet or a diaper! WHY was SHE peed on? Pausing in her apple-gnawing, she took a delicate sniff at herself. Nope. Didn't smell like pee anymore. At least her mother was good for something. She smelled perfectly like a rose - just how she liked it. "Hellllllo~" Patrick called out as he entered the shop, grinning a little bit as he wandered into the area where Ianna and Caoiliann were settled. He had a baby ghost wisping on his shoulder, the little blue and black 'tail' fluttering a bit as they wandered inside and Lahela and Akilah on his back and his front, respectively.
"How've things been, ladies?" Ianna was on the recieving end of a rather dashing smile, since..patrick was like that, as he unhooked Akilah. The small meerkat squealed happily, bouncing and jumping in his little carrier as he was released.
"CHIRRUP!" he squealed, giggling and wriggling all the more, little paws waving.Ianna looked up from her book, slightly annoyed at the fact that she was interrupted in her reading - until she saw who it was that was speaking. She placed the book down and sat herself up, smiling at the darker man. "Well, long time no see, Patrick, how're you and the kids and lover boy?"
Coailiann looked over at the brood that Patrick brought with him, mainly the meerkat. It looked too much like a rat for her to handle and she scoooted, quite fearfully, to the other side of the playpen. "RAT!" she squeed, her little green eyes widening. "We're okay. Moving soon. Iamel has actually accepted the two little buggers. I was surprised." Patrick paused in seeing Caoiliann being so afraid of he little meerkat. Akilah trilled happily, arms waving happily, his tail curled slightly under him.
"Gat!" Lahela squeaked from behind Patrick, ittle finger-claws squeezing gently together, flexing on the broad band of cloth on her stomach. "Gat! Kyuah!"
"You alright, Coailiann?" Patrick asked, eyebrows furrowing a little bit as he crouched beside the pen. Lahela giggled at the moving and Akilah simply peered curiously at the little Ghost. One more squeal from the meerkat. "This is Akilah. He's just a baby, like you. Like Lahela."
"Kwaheela!" Said the little parrot. She was in a jovial mood today."Well, I suppose that is a miracle..." she paused. "I found two more coins for the collection I started him on, by the way." she smiled. She was kind of fond of the little woodpecker...
Coailiann seemed to calm a little bit at the sight of her birdy-friend, but the little meerkat was still making her terrified. It looked too much like a rat for her liking. She didn't know WHY she was so afraid of it, and that made it even worse. Coailiann didn't like not knowing why something was happening, especially if it was happening to her.
The little sidhe scrunched up her face and curled up crying softly. "Rat..rat..." she murmured, her little rear end wiggling as she tried to 'hide' from the little meerkat.
"I don't think he'll mind." He smiles faintly before frowning at the fright from the meerkat. Akilah whined softly, wriggling a little and his father sighed, putting the little animal on his shoulders. The meerkat squealed softly, wriggling back into his favorite position - straddling Patricks neck from behind, legs around his neck, arms wrapped as far around his head as he could reach.
"Chrrrt." He mourned, black ears laid back against his skull. Patrick just grumbled and shifted the gear, unhooking Lahela so he could put the little bird girl near Coailiann.
"Gat!" She squealed happily, crawling over to Kay and collapsing on her, preening her litle silver hair gently, feathery body curled close. "Gat, gat!""I don't know what's gotten into Coailiann." Ianna said, her brow creasing as she moved towards the pen. "Tis not a rat, little girl, why are you so afraid baby?" her gentle hands stroked the little girl's fine white hair.Coailiann seemed to calm at her mother's touch and her little green eyes peered out, staring at the meerkat. "No rat?" she whispered, slowly uncurling and sitting up. She was still shaking a little bit, however.
When Lahela crawled to her she smiled sweetly and patted at the birdie, seeming to cheer up greatly at her friend. "La!" she giggled, green eyes glittering just a bit. "Not a rat," He agrees, one hand reaching up to ruffle the little meerkats back gently, fingers curling around his little tail. "He's a meerkat, baby. Nothing close to a rat, not at all. Cuter then a rat."
"Churrr..." Akilah seemed to agree, gnawing softly at his fathers hair, small tail curling around the others fingers. Black eyes, always curious, drifted over to Ianna, wriggling a little bit against his fathers head. "Churr?"
Lahela clacked her beak already, nibbling more at her hair before flapping her wings/arms enthusiastically, huffing at Coailiann. "Kah! Gat kah!"Coailiann smiled a little at the darker man and reached out for him, tentively. Or maybe she was reaching out for the little meerkat. It still looked like a rat to her, but if the big man and her mommy said it wasn't, then it wasn't.
She was temporarily distracted, however, by Lehela nibbling and flapping around. "Ooblah?"
Then she noticed the baby ghost and blinked, waving at it. Hi ghostie? she would murmur in her mind, wondering if it could talk back. Akilah was a bad, BAD child. When Coailiann reached out to touch him, lips peeled back slightly and he chittered at the other girl, hands twisting almost harshly in the dark mans hair.
Patrick yelped and jumped a little bit, eyes wide. "Akilah! Don't do that! Damnit!" The meerkat ignored him, nails digging in and tugging, huffing a little as Patrick stoof, winding a little bit.
Lahela giggled, nibbling more and bouncing still. "La gat! Lat gat kah!" Where she was talking in a babyish talk, the baby ghost couldn't, not yet. It could send images, though, and feelings. When Coailiann 'spoke' to him, she recieved a curious little feeling, little fragmented 'thoughts' of the world and of her and everything.
Basically, she recieved a 'hello, faerie thing' type of greeting, the small flurred ears atop of the ghost quirkingCoailiann, to put it lightly, completely freaked out when Akilah chittered at her. They said he was a baby! A...Meer...Meer...Meer thingy! But it acted just like a rat! Now the poor little Sidhe was very confused, and even more frightened than before. Her little hand snapped back and she curled up in a little ball, careful of Lahela. In fact, her little head found Lahela and buried it in her feathers. "Bad!" she whimpered.
Big rat bad.... the little Sidhe said in her mind, almost ready to cry."Coailiann, please don't be afraid. He's just a baby, just like you are, ok?" His voice is quiet, tugging Akilah away from his head to cuddle the diapered child to his chest. Akilah churred faintly, looking abashed when his father bapped his nose quietly in remorse. "He won't hurt you, darling. He doesn't bite."
Lahela wrapped her arms around the others small body, beak nibbling along her head, rocking her gently, despite being just a baby. "Bah," She agreed, chirping gently, "Bah gat."
shhhh... THe little baby ghost whispered, finally moving around Patrick to hover in front of kay. Bad? He didn't understand bad, or big or rat but he understood her fear and her tears.Once more she was slightly calmed down, both by the blue and black baby ghost and Lahela. Her green eyes peeked out and she offered a shaky smile, a few tear-stains on her pale white cheeks. "Tay." she answered childishly, slowly sitting up and balling her hands into fists, wiping her eyes.
The little Sidhe was very confused. She didn't know why such a little thing would frighten her so much...She didn't like not understanding!
Little hands moved to stroke at Lahela again, nose nosing at her in affection, green eyes staring at the baby ghost. Another hand went out and gently touched the solidifying smoke. Not enough to make anything go wrong, just enough to show her appriciation. She knew what it was like, being that, even if she hadn't been it for long.
Tankie. she murmured in her mind again.
"Okay," Patrick said softly, sighing and stroking slowly against the meerkats soft fur on his stomach. THAT caused Akilahs eyes to droop closed, crooning softly under his breath, slowly sinking into sleepiness. "Best way to keep him calm," He murmured, glancing over to Ianna, "Pet his stomach and he melts."
Lahela giggles quietly, little feathers floofing up in pleasure at the nuzzling. "Yah," She chirruped, "Yah fah gat." A firm nod, nibbling more at her friend, at her ear, litle frame wriggling.
The babyghosts tail flickered once as he floated his way back to Patrick, hiding behind his head almost shyly. He'd comforted and now was the time to go back to his Companion.Ianna had been watching silently the entire time, not being one to comfort very well. "Most children are like that, especially anthros, I think." she answered, glad that Coailiann was calm yet again.
Coailiann eached for her apple slices and offered one of them to the little parrot, giggling. She seemed back to her normal self now, "Apple!" she cooed, taking yet another piece and putting it in her mouth to gnaw at it. Green eyes moved to look at Patrick, thought better of eating the last apple slice, and offered the slobbered on fruit to the darker man, her innocent eyes sweet. "Well, Lahela was the first anthro I had..and she haaaates it. With a passion. She likes being petted, though, when it's putting her feathers back into order." He grinned, shoulders rising into a faint shrug as he continued to pet, "And Akilah...is psycho. I fear for when he can walk."
"...chirpt?"
"Yes, you, you little ******** Mufasa mouthful."
Lahela looked up from snapping at the apple, managing to get a mouthful of apple. "********?" She chirped, bouncing slightly, eyes alit. "Fuscking! ********! Eee! ******** went pale under the pigment, momentarily forgetting his offer of apple from Coailiann. "...did...d-did..."Ianna...almost died laughing. At least Coailiann's first word had been something simple, like 'no'. But ********? That was just absolutely bloody hilarious. "Welll..." she said, taking a deep breath. "Congrats, Patrick."
Coailiann blinked. "Fu..cking?" she mimicked her new friend and then giggled. "******** ******** ******** style="color: darkblue"> That got a glare from Ianna. "Oh...great." she muttered. "juuuust great. Thanks Patrick." it was a joking glare, of course, but eh. "No! No, Akilah, Lahela. That is a very, very bad word. You shouldn't say that." He huffed a little, head shaking. "Good for speaking but BAD word."Coailiann was happily mimicking her friend. "******** ******** ******** fuuuuuccccking!" she was clapping her hands and singing it in almost a sing-song voice.
So all three babies were pretty much being potty mouths, and it was funny. At least, to Coailiann, who had no idea what it meant.
When Patrick started talking again she paused and looked at him with a quizzical look. "Bad?" she asked sweetly, now gnawing on the apple she had offered him. Since he didn't take it, it was HERS. "Stop saying it," Patrick pleaded with the children, huffing over at Coailiann. "Very bad. Mommies and daddies don't like you to say stuff like ********!" Lahela giggled out anyway, chomping on the last of the apple with a happy churr. "********, dah! Kah ********. Mordread is going to KILL me."
"Kill! ******** Kill! Kill ********! GEE!"Coailiann was a good girl, for the most part, so she shut up and simply settled for gnawing on her thumb, since the apple had run out. New teeth were coming in, but since she was a good baby she didn't cry to let that be known.
People should just watch her enough to know what she was in discomfort. She WAS the princess, after all! Or, so Ianna kept telling her. Green eyes looked with amusement at Lahela and then giggled. "Kill! Kill!" she squeed and then dove for the blankie at the other side of the pen to hide. The dark man was getting frustrated! Indeed, he growled quietly, shifting to hook Akilah back into the front of his two-seater for both children. "C'mon, Lahela. We're going to get you home so Mordread doesn't freak out."
"Kill!" She squeaked again, turning tail and trying to race to Coailiann - before being scooped up by her father. Another squeak, writhing in his hands and huffing, jumping slightly in his grasp. "Gah! ********! Dah dah dah dah no!" Lahela shrieked, wailing again as she was pulled away from her friend.
The wand looked on in amusement.Coailiann peeked innocently out from beneath the blankies and gave a pitiful kind of whine as Lahela was plucked away from her. "LA!" she screeched, reaching out and just narrowly missing the baby's wing. Then she started to cry. Loudly.
Ianna blinked. "Well, they seem to get along lovely." she murmured, a glint in her silver eyes as she watched. "And I'm sure they'll have a lovely lesbionic affair when they're older but for now.." He sighed, twisting the carrier around so he could put in the squirming infant - who kept screech/wailing, little body wriggling against his hands before she got snapped in.
Lahela whined and wilted, falling limp against the carrier. "Kaaaaaaah," She whined, little clawedness reaching out, flexing for her friend."Mmm, Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Good luck with Mordread, by the way." she commented. "He'll be thrilled she spoke."
Coailiann whimpered and settled herself down, clinging to her blankie and then...a piece of half chewed apple fell out. Oh! Idea! Coailiann snapped the apple up and chucked it. Right. At. Patrick's. Head.
It would, in fact, stick to his glasses (was he wearing them.)
"OHBAH!"
Her finale retaliation before she settled into the pen and started to suck her thumb again.

Coailiann sat quietly in her playpen, as she usually did, gnawing on apples. Her mother had gone to find yet another wand the previous day, and was napping on the couch, one of her magazines flopped over her face to shield her closed eyes from the light coming through the windows.
And for once, Coailiann understood that her mother needed rest. She longed to scream and yell and make a lot of noise...but no, she would be a good girl.
Good girls got to see friends and eat apples and stay away from that god awful rice pudding! So, a good girl is what she would be. Amparo sighed as she was led by two men into the Wand Shoppe. Of course, until they realized they didn't know how to get into the Headquarters.
Smugly, Amparo led the way, and looked around as she entered, frowning. "Ia--" She stopped her yell when she saw the sleeping form, and looked amused. Her wand was in a belt loop, held securely there by a piece of string.
Antonio looked around curiously, frowning. "It's so big." He muttered, walking out towards the middle of the room. He stopped when he saw a play pen, and curiously moved forward.
He saw a baby. Antonio made a face and stepped away from the play pen, shaking his head. "There's a baby in there." He mumbled at Amparo and Jonathan's curious glance.
Jonathan snorted. "You're not afraid of babies, are you?"
"Do you want to change the diapers?"
"... Right then!" He turned to Amparo. Amparo rolled her eyes at the boys, and walked to the play pen, smiling.
"It's Coailiann." She replied, rolling her eyes at the boys. "Honestly." As always, Patrick came to visit. Here he came, this time, with the little wand fluttering above his shoulder and Lahela strapped to his chest like usual.
And...there were new people? Eyebrows arched as he saw two - no, three - other people enter the Wand Shoppe. How odd.
So the lanky, dark man followed them inside, grinning a little as he heard their discussion about babies. Lahela, hearing Coailianns name, waved her hands and gave a sharp squeak.
"Kay lah! KAAAAAY! GYAAAAAH! ********!" She squealed, wriggling happily. Patrick winced and rubbed his temples, glancing to the playpen, lips pursed. Damn. The man still wasn't sure what to do with it. A wand. Take care of a wand - he could do that, he really could. D was good at taking care of things, it was something he'd been told he'd excelled at.
Perhaps it was his typical gentle nature, or the fact that he didn't have much of a spine. Whatever the case, the man with the pink hair, his business suit, and briefcase (as well as his free hand holding the wand) made his way into the little shop.
Upon entrance, he did pause to look up, his eyebrows arching over his glasses. It seemed that this place was quite the popular hot spot for, well, many types of people. He knew none of them, and had only wanted to stop in on his lunch break to (perhaps) have a word with Ianna.
He saw a crib, and a few folks scattered around it. There were a variety of folks - and some even had wands of their own! Well, at least he wasn't the only one here, that made him feel a bit better. Everyone at the office wondered why he was bringing a staff in - but then, everyone at the office thought him rather strange anyway, so taking care of a staff was (by all means) nothing short of surprising.
Making his way over to a corner (he didn't want to disturb anything or anyone) he did blanch when he heard something - someone - another baby? scream <********>. Who would teach their child something like that, D didn't know, but heaven forbid he stand on a pedestal and preach.
It wasn't like he was a father. Yet.
Ianna had only been sleeping for a good ten minutes before she heard the quiet voices of Amparo and two males she didn't recognize. She figured, since they were quiet, they were respecting her rest. Thus, she did not stir.
Not until the screeching parrot anthro made her jump about a foot in the air and roll off the couch, hitting her head on the coffee table. "********!" she cried out, rubbing her head as she sat herself up. Three of the guardians were now in the headquarters. At the same time. Was something wrong? "Urm...Hi guys.." she murmured sleepily. "Something up?"
Sleep-disoriented eyes moved from Amparo, to the two males with her, to Patrick, and to D. And then to Coailiann.
Lahela was here, meaning the silence would end and Coailiann would start up her screeching...and the profanity she had learned from the parrot.
Unfortunately, she was right.
It seemed she was getting better at the baby babble.Amparo glanced up when she heard someone come in, and arched an eyebrow slightly at the man with the bird-child. She looked faintly amused, but kept her mouth quiet as she watched.
Soon enough, another man with pink hair entered. Antonio arched an eyebrow. "Well this is a regular hot spot, isn't it." He muttered, looking around calmly at all the people now standing in the Headquarters.
"They all have wands?" Antonio looked over at Amparo, who shrugged.
"I dunno." She replied, rubbing her neck sheepishly. When she heard the parrot child screech '********!', she couldn't help her amusement. Antonio coughed, trying not to laugh, and covered his mouth hard.
Amparo turned when she heard Ianna, and smiled sheepishly. "Hello, Miss Ianna." She greeted. "Uh, the boys just wanted to see the Headquarters." She rubbed her neck sheepishly.
Jonathan waved from the spot behind Amparo, and Antonio moved up in front, waving sheepishly. "Hello." They both echoed in unison. "I--sorry, Ianna." His voice was a mutter, unhooking the squealing, screeching little parrot-anthro. If his skin was light enough to see a blush, it would've been dark with embaressment. As it was, his head merely ducked to hide it.
"Only so many can be baby-sat at once and you know she adores Coailiann.." A sheepish smile before putting Lahela down into the pen. The baby-ghost hovered about his shoulder before fluttering over to Ianna, the black and blue cloud of baby fox nesting on Iannas hair momentarily.
"New people. Oh Hello too." A faint grin.
Lahela crawled over to Coailiann quickly, squealing loudly once more. "******** style="font-size: 9px">D continued to watch the procedings quietly, still a bit taken aback. He clutched a little tighter at the wand in his hand, part of him feeling foolish for even bothering to enter.
Maybe his questions should have waited? But, at the same time, they couldn't wait! He was going to be a father - He, himself - a father. He'd have to take care of a child who was supposedly going to come from this wand, and part of him wasn't sure he was ready for it.
Oh, he wouldn't trade it for the world, not now - but he was a bit worried. Pre-paternal panic, really. He'd never expected to have children so soon, much less a child that would come from a wand!
But, stranger things had happened.
Like babies, screaming "********", and a little floating blue spirit. "Oh, don't mind me," he hastily explained, kind of holding up his briefcase, as if that explained everything. "I can always come back later!" Just in case she was busy.
He hadn't expected quite a crowd.
"Really, it's no problem guys." she said sleepily. "I just didn't get a whole lot of rest, found another wand last night and..." her eyes stopped on D. "And the new guardian has decided to grace us with his presence." she gave a yawn and wiped at her silver eyes, standing up and walking to the mini-fridge. Damned be magic, she needed coffee.
"Patrick, you know damn well you and your spawn are allowed here any time..and that goes for all of you." she yawned yet again, pulling a piping hot cup of mocha blend from the fridge and closing the door, bringing it to her lips and instantly sipping at it.
She sputtered and whined. Damn, she forgot how hot it was.
"You're welcome to stay, D. I know you have questions, and Patrick being the most experianced with wand-dom could probably help you out."
Coailiann instantly hugged her little anthro friend and gave a little coo of pleasure. "La!" she said gleefully, "********!" she said again, earning her a glare from her mother. "Oops." she murmured, looking down. "Sos!"
Her way of saying sorry.
Antonio eyed the babies with curiosity, moving closer to the pen cautiously. "... They're so tiny." He mumbled, frowning. "Are they always that obscene?" He looked over at Patrick curiously, arching an eyebrow.
Amparo rolled her eyes. "You could introduce yourself, 'Tony." She pointed out, jabbing him lightly in the side with her finger. Antonio wiggled away from the offending digit and glared at his mother.
"I'm Antonio." He greeted, holding out his hand to Patrick. "It's nice to meet you." He smiled at him, and then looked at the babies again. "... They're still really tiny."
Jonathan snorted and ruffled Antonio's hair. "They're babies. They're supposed to be tiny." Antonio glared at his uncle and fixed his hair cheekily, grumbling.
Amparo sighed and pinched her nose, shaking her head at the boys. She looked over at D and smiled. "You're a new guardian too, then?"

January 10th, 2006
Dear Journal,
Coailiann has been at Matilda's for the last week. SO nice to not have the little girl around, as much as I love her. To be frank, she's a handful and a half now that she's slowly learning how to walk. A mobile Coailiann scares me.
Especially if she pairs up with that little parrot girl. Patrick and I have decided we're frightened.
She came back tonight, though, which was nice. I missed her, even if I won't let it show. She obviously missed me too, and is currently clinging to my leg sucking her thumb. Apparently, Matilda isn't as fun as she seems after a week.
Going to go, though, I hear Patrick downstairs!

Ianna lay on one of the large hammocks hanging between two of the largest trees in the garden. It was -her- spot. Nobody, not even Matilda, dared go near that spot...unless they were sure that Ianna wouldn't know. That was, at least, her sanctuary.
When she was in that spot, her little family knew not to bother her. New people, however, probably wouldn't know that. Currently, on her face, were her dark-rimmed glasses, and her eyes were busily scanning the text of a small paper back. A romance novel, no less.
She was tired of reading that damned book of life and death.
Kinky.
Patrick was just meandering with his little wand - this is where they came to escape things such as life. Mordread was at home with Akuti, and Iamel was showing Akilah video games (He didn't want to KNOW how that would go) But...times like these were his vacations.
A short ******** vacation - an hour or two at most. "Right, foxboy?"
His thoughts, as usual, were disjointed and not altogether normal...Yashima didn't mean to mind. Patrick just shrugged, pausing when he saw Ianna. To say hi? Or to - s**t. Foxboy was floating over to her, and he had settled in the crevice of her open book.
Ianna blinked, wondering if her glasses had fogged since she could no longer see the words. Then she realized the color that was blocking the text was not the normal hazy white and took her glasses off, blinking yet again. "Baby ghostling?" she asked.
That would mean she had visitors. Lovely. Patrick was here. That usually meant the screaming little parrot-girl. On her vacation. "Coailiann's not he--" Silver eyes turned to look at Patrick, noticing he was parrot free and sighed. Good.
"Hello, Patrick. I see you left the brood at home today?" she offered a smile and carefully closed the book, away from the baby ghost.
"I need a vacation too!" His voice was a soft laugh on the wind, holding his hand out lightly. The ghost, used to such beconings, slide over, away from Ianna with a small tail-wriggle, and onto Patricks hand.
"Lahela is learning to walk and it's very scary. I try to stay away." A faint smile, fingers moving to 'pet' at the little baby ghost. It churred, quietly, in his head, stretching out and arching its little ghost self happily. "What about you? No kay?"
"I suppose we all do. I'm on one right now. Set Coailiann loose on Matilda, who is overjoyed, I'm sure. She adores that little girl and she never cries for her." The woman rolled her eyes and leaned comfortably in her hammock.
"I don't mind, I guess. It's nice to be alone without the screaming...Coailiann's slowly beginning to walk, too. I shudder to think how she will be once she's fully mobile." the woman narrowed her eyes. "And what kind of trouble will Lahela and Kay get into together?" A shudder. "Dear god, save us all."
"Two cute bundles of pain in the a** - one who can snap at your fingers and the other who can toss apples at your face." He paused, eyes widening themselves before narrowing into slits.
"Ianna...I fear the future." Patricks voice was a sigh, fingers still petting at the hovering bundle of black and blue energy, nose wrinkling a little, "Sad thing is this little guy seems saner then he rest of us."
"Oh dear god, Patrick. We'll need those baby leashes that I've seen people walking around with!" she laughed at that. She was kidding, but it would be nice to do that. For her, not for Kay.
Her eyes went to the baby ghost and she stood up, moving towards them and giving a soft caress of the smoke. "Hey there lil' guy. You know what an insane family you're going into?" she giggled.
"I think he likes the thought of our psycho household." Patrick joked quietly, watching how the woman interacted with the small wiff of smoke.
it wriggled, a little, puffing up just a bit more then normal. The small spikes of its 'ears' (at least...he thought they were. It WAS a fox, right?) flickered a few times. Its diminutive frame shifted from patrick to Ianna easily enough, crooning in patricks head and rubbing up against her as much as it could without falling apart.
"I figure he WILL be a guy, though..I get that feel from him anyway. I'm probably wrong."
Ianna chuckled softly. "Then it's a little insane itself, isn't it?" she smiled and stroked at the blue and black smoke, tenderly. Matilda's stage had lasted a day or two.
"If you feel it will be a boy, you are the only one who would really know. He is bonded to you, he is yours. IF you feel it in your heart, your heart is most likely correct." she looked to Patrick, silver eyes shining slightly. It was so easy to tell she was a mortal, she was no different from him.
And she risked her life every day to help her daughter. "So we should start calling him Yashima, no?"
"Well...I could be wrong." He laughed quietly, shoulders rising into a careless shrug, watching as the woman petted at the rather affectionate little floating ball of smoke. "It could be the blue smoke that's making me think that it's a boy - stereotypes ands hit, y'anno?"
One more shrug, smiling still at her, "I've already begun calling him Yashima, actually... He responds to it." He paused, lips pursing a little, nose wrinkling up. "I think he likes it, anyway? I can never be sure. The ghost...bit...just wriggles and winds around my fingers when I do. I like to assume that's a good thing, 'cause he does that a lot."
A wry smile. "You've grown attatched, Patrick." Ianna's head turned, letting her pale lips kiss the smoke, which had solidified just a bit more than it had previously. "And the child knows it. It will be here soon, Patrick. I feel them solidifying. If you haven't done so already, I'd secure a space for him."
She paused. "And get bottles. And diapers. And other things you need...Specifically for him. I only ask that you bring him in to see me when he's finally here, completely. Can you do that?"
"Mordread went nuts baby shopping - we have color coded bottles and binkies and s**t." He grinned a bit further in rememberance, "Akuti is green, Akilah is red and little Yashima is dark blue - he has his own little half of the room with the psycho little meerkat. Own bed and s**t too...That's where the wand sleeps at night."
He pauses, head shaking, "It used to stay in my room but...With Mordread... it felt kinda...weird to have a...wisp thing there when we...y'know." His cheeks went red and the little fox wisp trembled a bit - he could hear little gigglish noises. "..stop laughing, fox." Grumble.
"Made the non-existant babies?" she asked, raising a brow. "I'm sure that was a good idea, to move him. May give him ideas in the future I'm sure you won't want to deal with." a smirk touched her lips.
"And I wouldn't expect anything less of Mordread than that. Are you sure he's male?" She watched the interactions and couldn't help but shake her head. "Cute."
"Well, fox boy IS gonna grow up and IS gonna have sex...eventually... I think... Doesn't mean I have to help urge it along, y'know?" He grinned a bit more, moving slowly to lean on the tree near Ianna, huffing still at the trembling/laughing puff of smoke.
"Oh yes. Completely sure that mOrdread is male. Very male. Very. Very male. Trust me on that one."
She smirked at Patrick's insistance. "I meant on the inside, lovely. I'm sure he's very much so a male on the outside, but sounds like a girl to me." a soft little giggle.
Ianna was now in a rather childish mood.
His nose wrinkled slightly, head shaking a bit. "...I hope not. I don't LIKE girls - no offense, ianna. It'd mean I fell for a girl." Another shiver, nose wrinkling all the more and he glanced down at his watch, eyes widening. "And s**t. I ******** promised to take the kiddlets off his hands - I left him there with all of them except Yashima."
Ianna winced. "All four? Are you trying to kill the poor man?" she said nothing about his comment for women. She was a woman, but then again, she didn't much act like it. Half the time, anyway. "Go then, Patrick, and take your fluff ball with you."
Since the smoke was still snuggled with her. She smiled at it fondly.
"Oi, he said he wouldn't mind!" Patrick laughed and reached over, fingers making wriggling motions to the small puff of smoke. It chirruped and wriggled away from Ianna, twisting up his arm again with a little coo inside of his head.
"Thanks, Ianna! I'll bring him back when he solidifies - promise." A faint smile and he was off! Off to...be mischevious. And stuff.

So, Coailiann was back and all that fun stuff. Ianna hadn't been ready to take the little girl back quite yet, despite the fact that she had missed her, but it was okay. Coailiann seemed estatic at the fact she was back.
Matilda was scary to live with.
Currently, she was sitting on her mother's chest in the living room, clapping her hands and babbling a half-understandable song that Matilda had taught her. OR she had seen on television..Ianna wasn't quite sure what she was saying but...at least she was happy and NOT screaming. Iamel and Akuti were with Patrick today. They'd gotten into a fight - neither were speaking to the other and godDAMN, that was a welcome escape. Akuti sniffed condescendingly, moving right back to read some books in the back of the room while Iamel sulked outside of the shop - he'd come in when he was DAMN good and ready.
In came patrick, dressed in a loose pair of pants and an old, ratty shirt. jewelry was...shockingly gone. All the shiniees in his face were the only ones left - rings and bracelets were gone, as Akilah and Yashima liked to grab on and hold tight They'd be replaced later.
His sneakers squeaked lightly as he moved inside, the small boy cradled easily on his hip. Yashimas hair hung loose, hiding part of his face as those wide golden eyes peeked from behind the locks and that innocent face. Small, pale hands were clenched on that old shirt, dark tail curled around one of Patricks arms.
Yashima was wearing a red diaper and a small side-buttoned shirt in the style of an Asian manner. The frogs (the latchy things. <3) were black but the only other color on the shirt was the blue dragon sewn onto the back. His diaper was down low to let that tail free.
"Ianna! I bring a new member of the family."Ianna lifted her head and peeked over the edge of the couch, her mouth turning upwards in a rather large smile. "You were right, a boy! Hello, Yashima!" she said.
Coailiann crawled from her mother, down onto the ground, and blinked. Where was the wispy ghost thing?
Baby ghost? she asked, a little confused. Her intelligent green eyes showed the confusion, tiny white curls (Which were starting to form!) fell over her forehead as she tilted her head.
Ianna watched her daughter move and she chuckled. Still couldn't stand or walk yet, which was a good thing. "And hello, Iamel. Akuti. There's gifts for you over by the main desk."
On the other side of the desk was a stuffed pink elephant for Akuti and for Iamel, a silver and gold bracelet with a bunch of multi-colored gem stones. "Iamel is sulking," He explained, siiiighing softly as his son continued to lurk in the doorway. Yashima, startled by the greetings, merely blinked a little, curling a bit closer to his caretaker.
He wasn't SHY, mind you...simply...catious. When Coailliann spoke to him, he twisted around to peek at her, shoulders hunching up slightly. Two fingers, slightly chubby and adorable in that, spread into a slight v sign and wriggled at her in greeting.
The tail uncurled from his father, relaxing a little bit.
"He's not deaf, either," The dark man grumbled, free hand ruffling the boys hair. "Just amazingly quiet. He hasn't cried ONCE."
"EEE!" Akuti squealed, hugging onto the pink stuffed creature tightly. "THank you thank you!" Bouncing from the happy satyr girl, squeezing it close as she moved around to hug Ianna."Meh, you're lucky. Coailiann started OUT as a good baby...and...well...you can see where she is now!" she laughed softly, watching Coailiann crawl over to Patrick and sit directly on his shoes.
She had taken to doing that a lot lately, for some reason.
Coailiann smiled brightly at the baby and reached up for him. "You!" she squeeled in delight, bouncing on her little rear a bit before levitating a good six inches in the air. "GHOST!"
Ianna blinked. Man, Coailiann was learning a bit too quickly for her liking. Eyes moved over to Akuti and she umphed as the little Satyr ran into her, hugging at her. Ianna hugged her back, albeit a bit awkwardly from the way she was positioned. "You're welcome, Kuti." "Eh.. Lahela's starting to walk and Akilah can ...kinda crawl by now. He can just sit up for now and that's bloody well good for MY happy a**, thanks." He grins faintly, shrugging and then peeking down at the sidhe.
Brown eyes go wide, watching her levitate, clutching his son closer to his chest. "Holy s**t. Is she supposed to be able to do that?"
Yashima, unruffled, watched as the girl rose up, little fingers pausing before tucking into his silent mouth. Ghost. He affirmed, mental voice small and quiet and very childish.
Akuti was beaming, tail lashing a little bit before darting off to play with her newfound little stuffed friend. eee! It was pink!"As I said, we need leashes for when they can walk. Terrors, both of them, when they can walk." Ianna gave a little shudder and curled up on the couch, hugging one of her pillows to herself. "Matilda's been oddly silent lately, I wonder why there's no more wands unearthing themselves. Didn't think they had an off season." she paused in her musings. "Oh, the levitation? Yeah, I think that's one of her powers. She doesn't have wings yet, and she's a sidhe so..."
Coailiann looked to Patrick with a charming little smile and then tried, with all her might, to levitate to where the little baby Yashi was. She rose a good 2 inches before plummating down and landing on her diapered bottom, screaming bloody murder from the impact.
"OOOOOOOOWWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE"
Ianna giggled. "That's what you get, Coailiann." she murmured. It was only 8 inches, not that bad at all. Silly little sidhe. Always making something out of nothing. "Shush, Kay.." Patrick grumped this out quietly leaning down with the boy still in his arms to gather her up as well. by this time he was on his knees, Coailianna nestled close to his chest, legs pressed up against Yashimas own.
The pale fox stared at the bawling sidhe, eyes even wider. His tail curled protectively around his legs, cheeks flexing as he suckled at his fingers. ...you aren't hurt, He demurred quietly, ears sliding back to lie flat against his skull, toes curling a bit as well.
"Kay, this is Yashima. Remember the wand? This is him."Ianna smiled at the group. "Patrick, mind watching Coailiann? I could use a good soak in the tub...And I'm sure that she'd like to get to know the person Yashi."
Coailiann's wail settled into a soft whimper as she was picked up, her head resting easily on Patrick, green eyes looking to Yashi with a slighty smile. Her little hand reached out and stroked at his fluffy tail, carefully. She knew how sensitive they could be, or at least, she figured.
No, but it scared me. Wasn't expecting falling. You grew. "Nah, not a problem, Ianna... Go relax. I can handle two munchkins." His voice was light and dismissive, letting the woman wander off at her will.
Yashima paused when those fingers touched his furr, letting out a very audible squeak when they started to pet. With a 'pop', his fingers left his mouth, he grabbed up his tail, hugging it close with a little whimper. The nerves in his tail were still new, he was learning how things felt...overstimulation.
hurt The fox whimpered, shoulders hunching, ears lying flat on his scalp still, tail floofing up.Ianna flashed him a smile. "If you weren't gay, I'd kiss you." she skipped off, quite happily, to persue her bath in the luxary bathroom she had secured herself.
Coailiann looked to Yashima with a little expression of sorrow on her cute face. Her hand gently drew away and her thumb went into her mouth, her head resting once more on Patrick's shoulder.
I'm sorry. she whispered in his mind, making a mental kissy sound. I make it better with a kiss! "If I weren't gay, I'd let you." He laughed quietly, eyes going back down to where the children were interacting, moving and such. Where Coailiann could talk and levitate and such...Yashima could...sit up. And gurgle.
The messanger fox hesitated slightly. A kiss? What was a kiss? Those two fingers slid right back into his mouth, hesitance on his mind, small lips drawn down into a contemplative frown. ...A kiss. Hmm.
Would she give him a kiss? Better not risk it.
No kiss, He whispered back, ears slowly leaving his skull to stand upright. The golden eyes narrow, squinting a little at the bright light as Iamel swung inside, whimpering and hugging his tail closer.
And...he didn't speak otherwise. While he could've asked things, talked about something...it simply wasn't in his nature to question how things were, to try and start a conversation without being prompted as well. Coailiann looked a little confused. "Meh?" she asked, her word muffled around her little thumb. She didn't know what the big deal was. How could he not know what a kiss was? Then again, maybe she hadn't either? She couldn't remember. She just learned as she got older.
It not bad. she whispered in his mind again, her little feet swinging against Patrick's stomach lightly. She liked the darker man, and she liked this little boy thing.
But she missed Lahela. No He pouted out stubbornly, letting his tail go to slide down and curl around...one of Coailianns feet. True, while there was no kiss, and he was hesitant to even SPEAK (mentally, that is) to the girl..he didn't mind giving her a fluffy foot cover. It was quite comforting actually.
You're a girl-thing. At least he was offering to start a conversation! And she was, indeed, a girlthing. She smelled with the same musk Lahela and Akuti did - something not quite grown but very different from the others in his family. So? You be a boything! she retaliated, though giving him a gorgeous little smile when her feet got warmed by his tail, her toes giving a little comfortable wiggle to show she appriciated it. It was MUCH more comfortable than the restrictive shoes her mother tried to put her in.
Her mouth suckled on her thumb still, happily. The boy was as stubborn as she was - which could be a good or bad thing. Is there a problem with my being a girl? Yashima paused at her question, the meat of his tail flicking once, twice as he tried to contemplate it. "...agah?" He huffed out, severing the mental link between them momentarily. He had no telekenetic or mind over matter power or anything - but he was a spirit of the wands, just as she was and he had some sort of control over what went on in his head.
WHile they were young, anyway. He gummed at his teeth contemplatively, shifting to rest against her. The fox didn't LIKE girls..and she was a girl thing. But his father liked her (Patrick was cooing over how cute they were) so he simply moved his little body to cuddle against hers.
...cold fox He muttered quietly, eyes sliding shut for a moment.Coailiann took a long look at him, not liking that she had been kicked out of his mind. Not liking it at all. But! BUT! She didn't mind the cuddling, so she cuddled back, her fingers happily stuck in her mouth.
She wasn't too fond of boys either, not that she knew why or anything. She just...didn't. Just like she didn't like the rat meerkat thingy ma bob. Kay didn't like that very much either...that confused her. But, anyway, she was just a little baby and was rather comfy right now, so she'd dismiss it.
Coailiann did, however, notice the cooing.
She attempted the connection again. Is dark man always like this? He paused again, not too sure if he liked her reconnecting them but...brushed it off. It took the child a moment to process the question, nose crinkling up slightly. To smallthings like us... To the big one he yells a lot.
The fox shifted so he was still cuddled against the girl but he was also snug against his father. Eyes slide closed, in a peacefull little net of comfort, warmth and dual heart beats. There're more smallthings..Coailiann nibbled on her fingers lightly, giggling ever so softly.
Lahela n the rat, right? the little girl shuddered gently against the softness of the boy at the thought of the chittering and churring mammal that had almost attacked her.
Well, not really, but it had seemed as if it would. Big ones are weird.
She was rather comfortable in the position she was at as well, and she showed that by her little head moving to rest against Yashima's, as well as his father's chest. I don't know the names. His voice was now offhanded, sucking harder on his fingers as she continued to speak. He could feel himself drifting off...he was tired.
He was new. And so very, very tired... He stretched out with a quiet whimper, a mild yawn, and then collapsed against the both of them with a purr, eyes remaining closed. Sleep was enveloping him.Don't know rat things names. It seemed that his sleepiness was rubbing off on her as well, and she closed her eyes, suckling on her fingers in a more gentle fashion. You make me sleepy, boy thing she murmured in his mind, snuggling with him and Patrick.
