If you have a home version you can actually slow songs down, So put a trick song down to a slower pace and get the the blue colored steps down!

Cloudakira never return your feet to the center....that's common knowledge but a lot of newbies don't know that and it screws them up a lot... One thing I've learned is that Despite that truth, Konami seems to lead noobs into thinking that they should return to the center when they play beginner mode. Therefore, please, DO NOT mimic the DDR charas when they're stepping, develop your own style, then when you get good, show off your style to the world!

sometimes it helps to find the people at the arcade that you know can kick your a** and play doubles with them. so if you fail then you can still keep going!

It really helps if you play an instrument. You leanr beat, melody, and if people havent noticed...the DDR steps are like music notes. You wouldnt believe how much that helped me. Also dont get intimidated. Be yourself. Develop a style. Have fun. Wear something that you wont sweat to death in. Have fun. Dont be afraid to look completly stupid...I do that all the time and I have fun doing it.

My advice is just keep playing and most importantly having fun. The more you play the better you will get.

DONT STOP...dont bar-rape (the bar is evil), and become an all-around player, freestyle, technical, etc.
