"Lesson that you should never mess with a rhino or you get the horns." Korou said with an overly cheeky wink. His little paws worked slowly over the ground as he limped along. Over a hill? That meant he had to go up? Oh great.
He supposed it was all part of the trip, but really now, up a hill when he could barely stand at all? Korou sighed softly and started his way up the hill with a low groan. He wasn't used to this or very ready for it either.

PhiferWolf Usu gave a feeble smile. I think I just got told by a cub... However just for that the maned wolf ran to the top of the hill, awaiting for the little cheetah to come to him. A small punishment really, but it wasn't very practical.
"So, tell me more about your family, Korou." he called to him as the wind carried his words to the little limping cheetah.

"My family?" Korou asked as Usu ran to the top of the hill without him. He was really very tired right now and just because he thought that he stumbled and lost his feet. His chest hit the ground with a thunk and he grunted. "Well, there's my foster mother, Zakiya." He said as he used his weak legs to push himself back to his feet. "She took my in when she found me wandering on the savannah. And then there's my foster brother Hinotama, or Tama as we call him." Korou started to limp toward Usu again after he swayed for a moment, all the while trying to keep himself awake by talking. "None of us are related, but we're a family anyway, I might even get a sister soon that's a lion. Ironic right?"
He looked up and sighed before dropping his head and kept walking. "My mother takes care of us, but she doesn't deserve what I did to her by leaving. I didn't meean to be gone this long, but I got stuck in the graveyard. It's my fault."

PhiferWolf "Not all families are blood-related." he said. "Besides, you got someone else to be with who care for you. Come on, the watering hole is not far from here." Actually....unbeknownst to the cub, it was only a foot behind him. He was going to simply push the cub into the water, but now that his serverity of his injuries were made known. The cub can barely walk without tripping over himself. THis was hard for him to just watch him, but he wouldn't want to inflict any harm onto the cheetah's pride.
"Besides, I know a wild dog who's been taking care of a hyena and some other assortment of animals. Your to-be sister is a good thing."

"I know that, trust me I do. But it makes me sad that I did this to them and made them worry so. I wouldn't blame them if they just ignored me and never spoke to me again." Korou said in a slightly depressed voice. He had been going over how he was going to come back over and over in his small head, unsure of how Zakiya would take it or if Tama would even want to talk to him again. But it was up to fate in a way. "Not far eh? To you maybe, for me it's like a whole mile." He laughed again.
"You're kidding, a hyena? That's amuzing, who is she that she'd take care of a hyena, when wild dogs are enemies of them by nature? She must be a lot like my mother."

"Well...it's just something I heard really..." rumors tend to twist around when it is told to another so they can't always be trusted. There was this one time that some zebras spread some rumors about him. it was something like he killed his entire pack and was burned with an 'evil scar' or something along those lines. So not many animals would approach him for a very long while. Even now some feared him, but barely.
"Trust me, they'll talk to ya again. Just concentrate on getting home, nothing else, 'kay?" mind over matter, worked for him for years since he ived by himself. He even took on the hunting styles of other animals to just survive. "Come on, it's not too far now. Come on, kid."

Korou raised an eyebrow. "You shouldn't even believe the things that you hear. You shouldn't believe it unless you see it with your own two eyes, or in my case one." He snickered and attempted to pick up his limping gait. Almost there, almost there. Wait... did he smell water?
"I smell water, where is it?" He looked around, craning his neck to peer out of his blue eye over his left and right shoulders. "Where?" The tiny cheetah kept peering around for the source of the smell, not sure where it was coming from since he couldn't see over to his left all that well.

The taller animal grinned sinisterly as he reached down to grab his scruff. With a soft swing he tossed the cub into the air and into the watering hole with a booming splash getting himself wet in the process.
Geck! I got Cheetah fur in my mouth. he licked his maw and teeth to get the taste out of his mouth. Not something one would like to taste, the taste of his friend in their mouth.
He looked down into the crystal water as the little orange and black feline wade about. Maybe this wasn't the best idea. But at least it lightened the mood.....for him anyway. "So how is it?" he asked. "Maybe we can get a bite to eat after your done swimming." Usu laughed. "(And here I thought cats hated water.)" he said to himself.

A squeak escaped from his muzzle as Korou was thrown into the water with a huge splash. Water surrounded his head and smothered him for a little bit before the small cheetah pulled himself above the water with a mournful gasp.
"What was that for? I only wanted to drink not swim." Korou said grumpily as he drug himself out of the water slowly, letting his feet sink in the mud for a moment. "It's cold." he said with a soft shiver.

"Nothing." he chimed cheerfully. "We should get you home soon, you wounds need tending to and you got to get back to your family." Usu murred, sitting himself down. The two had been traveling for some time and now the sun was beginning to set. Korou is wounded and Usu could do nothing to tend for them or even care for a cub. Korou needed his family.
"Well, finish up your drink and we should hurry home." The grey wolf may be sounding a little....pushy or even unwanting, but it was for the best intrest. Usu was gonna have to wait until the cheetah was ready to go.

Nodding his dark head knowingly, Korou leaned down and started to lap at the water in the watering hole that he'd just been thrown into. He was desperatly thirsty, despite his sudden swim and the now drowned rat look that he harbored, but at the same time he was so thristy that he couldn't get past it.
"Home.. that would be nice." He said softly. He missed Zakiya now, though before he had wanted to go on the nightly trots and runs.

Usu waited patiently for him to finish. His tail swung back and forth, his eyes following his movements to make sure that something utterly random did not happen like a sudden alligator came up to him. Usu was wierd that way.
"Ready, Korou?" he asked, padding to his side. "We should get there before the hyenas and nocturnal hunters get out, right?" The maned wolf can move much more easily to avoid them, but with a wounded cheetah cub to care for, their chances of survival would be slim if many were around.

"There aren't many hyenas around us right now, not in this area at least. Where my family lives is very safe, Zakiya made sure of that for her son Akia." Korou responded softly as he stood up and limped over to stand next to Usu with his head hanging. He was ready to go, though he wasn't ready to walk. He simply wanted to lay down and sleep.
"But let's go anyway." He said in his normal quiet voice.

Usu wouldn't let him walk anymore. Already had he lagged the maned wolf and nearly doubled their estimated time to get to their destination. Usu was gonna save time no matter what the cub said. The wolf reached down and picked up the cheetah youngling and began to run.
"Korou, we are gonna get there soon, just hold on for a bit. Rest if you can." Running, the maned wolf crossed of the savannah nearing their destination. Except...Korou was gonna have to tell him where to stop to prevent scaring his care-taker.

Curling his dark little white spotted paws in Usu's thick mane, Korou closed his eyes and let his head hang over one of the large wolf's shoulders tiredly. He just wanted to sleep, or to curl up and die. One of those would be nice right about now. All the same, he hung onto Usu's shoulders and watched as the larger creature ran.
"Okay. I'll tell you when we're there. I don't need rest until I'm on solid ground."
