I can honestly say, I very much dislike Americans. But it isn't because anything that was shoved down my throat as a child, it is from first hand experience. Such as this stupid guy at a vendor I was buying something from in South Carolina, wouldn't take my penny because it was Canadian. Ok, I know he is allowed to refuse, but who gives? Whatever. I have had enough rukus at hockey games to last me a life time.
-The President is a DUMBASS, to put it in simplist terms -Alot of Canadians are angry that the US exploits us (ie, water, lumber)
I think, for people who are patriotic on both sides, we tend to regard ourselves as the best. I mean, I think this is more prevalent in the US, because it is more of a boiling pot of cultures. Whereas in Canada, we don't need to fit in with english roots to be accepted. Americans tend to ignore the rest of the world, aside from themselves. Alot of people are very self centered, and what ticks me off, is the fact that alot of people sterotype Canada. It is always cold, you live in igloos, you have pet beavers . I don't walk around saying do you have a gun in your back pocket? Do you eat possums? Why would I? I am pretty much intuned with whatever is going on everywhere else.
So, end of rant. Erm, alot of it doesn't make sense...but..oh well!

I don't hate americans or america. I actually want to move to the U.S. someday for school. But it's true....the president is an idiot. but i don't know anything about politics anyway...i don't even know who the prime minister is. i find Canadians aren't very patriotic....well not as much as the States.

I don't think the U.S. is bad. I think their president is bad and their current ideals are bad. I especially don't like the attitude a lot of Americans give "pacifist" Canada. But I have no problems with the nations itself or the people in general.

I agree with everything said here; not all americans, just the boneheads, which sadly is a lot of them. I am a canuck who has to live in the United States, it's horrible!
One of my friend's friends went to Europe, and wherever they went when the locals heard they were american, they asked, "how did that idiot become president?" rofl AMEN!

When I went down to San Diego For summer vacation. One dude wouldn't even give me the time of day since I was Canadian. It was so ovious when I was down there who was a tourist and who wasn't. If you acted like a tourist in some store the wouldn't even ask if "ever thing ok?" stuff, but the person right next to you had all the help in the world if he needed. Americans have there little/many ways of easily ticking off people. If the Americans were less ignorant and self absorbed it would be at least easier to have a conversation with them. I don't hate the americans, i just dispise them.

A worldwide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was: "Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?" The survey was a huge failure... In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant. In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant. In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant. In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant. In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant. In South America they didn't know what "please" meant. And in the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant

i don't hate the US, i hate the steriotype that is projected of them... and the ones who seem to behave like it.
personaly i think the canadian obsession with knocking down the US is connected to the need to feel superior to someone, thus we make shows like Talking To Americans in order to promote our idea that we are superior to them and then it slowly escalates into something more. it's something that every culture does, the english do it to the french, we do it to the americans, the americans do it to the rest of the world.
