"...I see..." Safura said quietly, ruby eyes brooding, before she saw the Swimming Pool. "Oh, wow!" She said, awed. The Southlands didn't have watering holes like this, and obviously, she felt it was an honor to see such magnificence.
"Well, I'm glad you feel you belong," Safura finally said, after admiring the Swimming Pool. She splashed into the water, deciding she wouldn't tell Zimwi anything more about herself unless he asked. Discrimination rang out through her kind, it seemed. Why could they all just accept each other?
She mused a bit as she played a bit in the water, and then turned with a wide grin at Zimwi. "Okay! I'm ready to learn!" She was quite eager. After all, who knew when swimming would come in handy? Besides, she'd like to try fish; she'd heard they were delicious.

"Well, as long as I'm here, I'll be pretty safe." He moved into the water, wading to the deep center. "This is where the water's deepest. Even here, a cub rearing up on its hind paws comes above the water. Try floating right here."

Safura glanced at him, a confused expression on her face. "How do you... float?" She followed him to the deepest part of the water, but stayed near the shallower end just to see what he was talking about. "I trust you, Zim, so I'm okay, but... float?" She'd done it again; given a nickname to another lion. She had the habit. "Er... is it okay if I call you that?"

"Just come into the deep water." He tucked his legs up, floating in the water. "See? All living things, even trees and plants, float on water. Even when they die, they do it." He kicked his legs, paddling his forelimbs. "And it's okay if you call me that. I've never had a nickname before..." A smile graced his face. That was happening a lot, it seemed.

Safura flushed lightly at his smile--more because she was embarrassed than anything else--but did as he told her. She walked toward the deep water slowly, and tried to do as he did.
"Um, okay," she said unsuredly, tucking up her paws. "Like this, right? I'm a little scared, Zim..." she said quietly, panic in her eyes. She knew she wouldn't drown, but she was still slightly freaked out about not having solid ground under her.

He paddled around her, tail streaming behind him as if it was just an extra, unused appendage. "Just relax. Pretend you're a cloud in the sky." His eyes seemed to smile. "It's easy enough."

She laughed nervously, and moved her paws slowly. As she slowly understood how to "swim", she gave Zimwi a bright smile. "Wow! This is fun!" Safura was slightly chilled, though, because the mountains definitely had that cold air feel. She chuckled quietly. "I wonder how long I can stay before the cold gets to me.
"I'm so used to the heat in the Southlands I must've forgotten about the colder regions." She paddled over to Zimwi, looked at him for little bit, then grinned. "Thanks for teaching me, Zim!" She licked his cheek as thanks, and then paddled away, continued paddling, laughing. She was having fun!

"Yeah, you get used to the cool of the mountains..." He stopped, a bright blush rising up under his coat as she 'kissed' him. Zimwi almost sank, but catching himself, he just paddled in place, watching her. Was this how Denge and Ithi felt for each other when they looked at one another...? Still young, he had no idea what love was like, really, so didn't know what to expect of his reactions.

Safura happily played around. Sure, she wasn't a cub anymore, but she was still young enough to play. Laughing, she splashed some water at Zimwi. "Are you hot? It's really cool out here, but you look hot so I'll cool you down!" She splashed some more water at him, knowing full well why he blushed, but not quite understanding it either. She figured he was just embarrassed instead of a happy thing, like when she'd seen the adults do it when they turned a pink-ish red color.

He blinked, then started to splash her back. "Oooh, now you're in for it!" A laugh escaped, splashes continuing. Finding a floating branch, he put his forepaws on it, kicking the water with his back to send water at Safura.

Safura laughed, as she tried to get away. After all, she was still getting used to swimming. "Okay, okay! I give!" She called, still trying to block the splashing. She ducked under the water and swam until she came up under him, then popped up on the other side of the log. "Boo!" She called, then licked his cheek just because she wanted to. "Nyahahah!" She laughed, and paddled away as fast as she could. "You're it!"

Zimwi sputtered, utterly surprised, a new blush rising up on his face. Orange orbs widened, the juvenile male flailing a bit. Upon recovering, though, he was soon paddling after her. "I'm gonna get you!"

"No, you're not!" Safura called back, paddling harder. She was laughing so hard, though, it was hard for her to actually get anywhere. "No! I can't let you get me!" She managed to calm down, and was almost to the shallow end of the Swimming Pool.

The male chuckled, swimming up next to her with ease. Swimming closer, he licked at her cheek. "You're it now!" He climbed out, shaking the water off his coat. May as well play on fairer ground.

Safura blushed a cherry red when he "kissed" her, and she paddled to shallow ground. Standing, she too, shook water off, and then she grinned at him, though she still blushed. "That's it, Zim, you're on! We're on the ground now, and I'll have you know I'm really fast for a lioness!" She crouched, tail waving back and forth. "I suggest you run as hard as you can!" She gave him a wicked grin, and began to count down. "5... 4... 3..."
