Hihihi!!

Layra here, freshie at Harvard, majoring in math. I was going to do a minor in phys, but then I looked at the course requirements and decided not to kill myself.

I've done Lagrangian mechanics (including special relativity), EM, and a bunch of junk with waves and basic QM.
I've also poked at Navier-Stokes, but of course to no major success. I've also looked a bit at branes, but mostly from a mathematical perspective.

I tend to be a more theoretical physicist, so I'll be assuming point charges and spherical cows.

Ok, I am Kaitlyn, and I just graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree in mechanical engineering. I am also going on to graduate school in Space Systems engineering at Hokkaido University in Sapporo Japan.

Umm, I could sit here and list all of the things I know, but I think that would be redundant....umm, I have worked on quantum string theory, all of that dumb stuff, so its no biggie to me.

Oh, and I am single....just so you all know, hehe

Better of Two Evils

Hello! I'm Joel. I'm nearing the end of my sophmore year of high school. I haven't taken any physics classes yet, and I won't until my senior year when I take AP Physics "B and C"....but it still is very interesting to me, as is chemistry. Right now the only science course I'm in is called "Intro to organic chemistry", which is probably a good class to take since I hope to be a surgeon some day.

Hmm. *waves*

Hello. I'm supposed to have a degree in Physics but I feel like I do more programming than physics these days [experimental HEP grad student]

Hi, I'm Rosie, and I'm a first year undergrad at Queen Mary, University of London. At the moment I'm studying straight physics, but that'll probably change once I decide which branch I like best (it's all good - so hard to pick). At the moment I'm floating between astro and theoretical.

I've always been interested in how things work, and when I did my A'levels I realised that physics was the thing for me. I had a bit of a "blip" in my studies when at sixth form and stopped studying for a while so I did rather badly, then spent a year in a boring office job and realised I need a job that'll stretch my brain, so I went back to college to resit A'levels, and here I am. Physics junkie.

Ew, Queen Mary. Take it away. XD

Nah, QM people are fine. Always thought Imperial [as a college] was a bit up its own arse [and Kings is a crazy maze of a department].

I don't really have any backgrounds in physics(exept Wikipedia sweatdrop ) high school student my area of interest if quite vast. My interest in physics starterd by just argueing with my friends

Hello everyone. smile

My username is SoloOfDarkness, as you can see, although you can call me Jamie. I'm currently a sixteen-year-old high school sophomore, with a particular interest in biophysics and quantum physics, though the area in general fascinates me. I've not done much with physics itself just yet, as right now I'm too young to take the course at my school, but I've done some amount of independant research into it of my own and know quite a lot for a person of my age. I highly intend in participating in guild discussions and learning as much as I possibly can about a branch of the sciences that I find most intriguing. biggrin

It's nice to meet you all, and I intend to have many intelligent discussions with you in the future. :l 3nodding

Hey everyone, I'm Jmsilvercat, and I've just finished my first year of college and am planning on a physics with astronomy emphasis and french double major (yeah, I'm insane, but I love it so). Next semester I'll be taking Modern physics, which is my college's first 300 level fun course, and I'm excited.

Hi.
I'm Hail Aradia but most people know me as Nothing.
My physics education consists mostly of what I've learned from the Science Channel and various books I've read.
I am mainly interested in Quantum Physics, though I don't confine myself to just that.
Nice to meet you all

Woah... Um... Woah... I see it but I still don't believe it. So many cleaver people gathered here to have some fun discussing physics. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical when poweroutage told me about the guild... I always thought this Gaia thingy is only for kids... similar to something i was addicted to last semester during the exam period... This guild totally changed my prespective.

Oops. Where are my manners? HELLO~ I am Ken Lee, not Bruce Lee... and trust me there is no relationship there, and no, I do not know any Kong Fu, neither. I am a classmate of poweroutage, so everything she had taken in this past first year Engineering Progrom, I have also taken. Physics have always attracted me with its various applications and intriging theories. However, I never trully jumped right it and take a bite of it. Too afraid to find out how little I really know, I guess. I am more into mathematics, mechanics, programming, and electronics due to the fact that I seem to know a thing or two in those and also because I find them mildly entertaining and fasinating. But who knows? Maybe this guild will persuade me to walk down the path to Physics. I do have great interest in Fusion reactors, and more environmental and sustainable energy sources. I look forward to learn from all of you and at the same time, I am willing to share whatever I know. Nice meeting you all.

'Ello. I'm Mike. I'm currently a sophmore in Highschool, taking algebra II, and I'll be taking Pre-calc and hopefully AP Physics next year. I admittedly don't know a whole lot about physics, but I do own The Elegant Universe and have read about half of it.

Um... Hm... Why I'm interested in Physics... well, I'm good at math, and I seem to be in the odd habit of liking things I'm good at. (Go figure. rolleyes ) The next logical step would of course be to combine my best thing, with my second best thing, (Science) Put it over a low flame for 20 minutes, drop a nuke on it, and Poof! I'm interested in Physics.

Heh, you're a person I'd be interested to talk to. We seem to have quite a lot in common. ninja
