*Shuffles in*

I REALLY need some ideas to make my character more interesting, and my quest a little more popular. So far I've only had one person to jump in and say hi. Its kind of sad. *Luffs of Daybreak*
So, are there any weak spots I need to fix? Are there things I might need to change all-together? ANYTHING?

*points* ha, I'm questing to be a Lemur too. Don't worry about how popular it is, that doesn't really matter unless you really want donations or something, maybe praise? I dunno. But as for your character, here's a few things I noticed:

1. You throw around the crazy angle first getting into her personality. You should research that. From what I'm reading it sounds like you want to make her Bipolar or have Borderline Personality Disorder. That's all well and good, but just make you say that. It would explain why she's so random at times or has those extreme mood swings.

2. Why was she such a rebel? Perhaps because she had a bland homelife it made her extreme at school?

3. It doesn't seem, to me anyway, that that one occurence would make her withdraw even if it was gradual. Ususally when a person's personality shifts that much it's because of something bigger; a death, an illness, a really big accident like a house fire or a car crash, something like that.

One thing I liked is that you made her so normal and that she seeks solitude, so that's what draws her to the island. That's a very good notion, and one I can see happening for her.

Anyway, hope my ranting helps.

Thanks!

Okay, Jessica is really not clinically insane; she keeps to herself so much that only a few have even noticed her in her extremely 'crazy' state. But I'll do some research and find an official name for what she is, or something close to it.

And the rebellious part; she was just like that. She had very little self-control and was very intelligent and hyper, all that together caused her to rebel. But than you for the observation; I'll definitely give a little more detail there.

I think the main reason it took so little to set her off was that she wasn't entirely sane in the first place. And when she was so alone more problems started to develop, she sought even more solitude, and it just built up from there. I can think of another thing that I can put in there that would make things flow a little better and make things more believable.

Thank you, again for taking the time to go through my thread!

you're very welcome. Okay, she doesn't have to be clinically insane, in fact that only applies to those in aslyums or people geting serious treatment. The official name would be Bipolar or Borderline Personality Disorder, which ever one you want. I can help you with the factuals of that. *majoring in criminal pyschology*

Ah, okay I get it. That makes sense, the solidarity that she wants. Good deal. And again, your welcome.

Reivan
Spiffy idea~ =D

M'kay, I guess I'll kick things off with my problem. 83
Edit: Maybe not~ *late*

Basically, it's my character's nickname. Right from the beginning, he's been Fi -I've never referred to him as Fidatof. Buut, we already have Fee (Fiona) on the island, and I can imagine two characters with the same name would get rather confusing and/or annoying. D:

So. I don't know what to call him anymore~

The simple solution would be to change the pronounciation of the name Fidatof (after all, I've never heard it spoken, but everyone seems to agree that Fee-da-toff sounds best.), and have his nickname pronounced Fie, rather than Fee.

Or, I could think up something new and exciting. Obviously, a character's name is quite a personal thing, but.. I have no ideas. :B
So any help/discussion would be appreciated. n_n

<3 You could always just call him "'Toff" or come up with a nickname that has nothing at all to do with his real name...or use something that shortens or just uses his last name. A lot of guys do that.

So far there's not a lot to go on. No backstories or anything like that. But, from what you have this is my nitpicks. On the Rebekah character why is her hair dyed purple?? Is that prefrence or is something deep there? Also, I'm not so sure about her being a genius. First of all a true, complete genius like on MENSA level is extremely hard to find. So do you mean she's a genius in a certain field? Like she's the best computer hacker there is or something? If that's the case then you should try to make her a little more human as well. Everyone has flaws.

Other then that, try to get some more character info up otherwise there's too little to go on. Hope that helps!

Here's my quick question-- I'm trying to go for a bit more diversity. Most of the cultures I usually try to go with are already established, though. Anjali is Indian, and Pyroth and Colche both have sort of Native American ties-- Japanese characters can be fun but are cliche in these sorts of situations. I can't think where to go from here-- I liked the idea of Kaye' being Native American, but I could switch her easily to just about any other culture.

My question-- what sort of cultures would you guys be interested in seeing? I could possibly go an Egyptian route, but there are some cultures that I'm not comfortable with playing, so I'd like a lot of suggestions to pick from. ^^

African, Australian, hm... oh maybe an Eskimo? Those are the few I like *shrugs* I'm personally a mix of everythin' Polish, German, European, Native American... whee Just a big ole tossed salad.

Australian could work. I don't think there are a lot of big zoos or horses amongst the Eskimo people, though. XD. And I'm not sure I could comfortably play an African character, given I've never really done much research into their culture and would probably miss out on a lot of important subtleties.
