Our marching band is doing the show Rise and Fall of Rome and we have lots of 9/8 in it. Not fun to march.... eh....

we have 9/8, 12/8, 6/8, 3/2, 2/2, and occasionally 3/4...

In concert band we do a lot.

This year is the first year we've had to march 9/8 sweatdrop
It's a little nerve racking, but I've caught myself marching in time to Bulgarian Dances, when we were playing it in concert band so..

9/8, very fun. That was my drumline show this year. Our next marching band show is gonna be in 5/8

All I've ever played were like...the easy time signatures. Like common time -slash- 4/4 and 3/4 and 2/4. And 6/8 and stuffs.

Hmm. Is there a 1/4? O:

Yes, I've seen a few. They're usually just one random note stuck in between measures. xD
5/4 and 9/8 and really fun to count, (maybe it just comes easy to me I dunno) but most songs have patterns to them, like
1-2-3
1-2
1-2-3
1-2
etc.

...
But a MARCHING show in those? Dude. xD
We're JUST getting to do 3/4 in marching this year, it'd be crazy/fun to try something more complicated.

My freshman year I was in concert band and we played a piece that had 7/8 and I thnk it was 5/4...or something. I can't remember what it does.
It was Fantasy for Barbra Allen.
Haha everyday after band we all we're singing
