I've had various yoga books and manuals accumulate in my room over time. It's always interested me, but I never seem to get in a decent routine.
Anyway, the other night, I was having a really difficult time, and I dug out one of the books and just did a few asanas.
I felt better almost immediately. Before I started, my stomach was in knots, I had a stress headache, I was as tense as a violin string, and I felt like I was going to scream.
Afterwards? My headache disappeared, I was relaxed, thinking more clearly and ready to sleep. heart

Astrox Henbane Hawthorne_blue Astrox Emi the Kitchen Witch My parents won't let me practice Yoga.... They don't want me to live my life the way I choose, apparently. stare *Psst..... but I am gonna buy this cheap yoga video at WalMart next time I go there....* ninja What?! Your parents are nuts. I do Yoga for spiritual reasons, I've only just started about 5 weeks ago. i think her parents are christian? anyways alot of them think its evil or something... i dunno.. but lol my yoga teacher is christian... its all in what they believe One person I was talking to online told me that Yoga and meditation were bad because it allows demons and other evil spirits to enter your mind. That is the only "Christian" explanation I have gotten. Oh Christianity... People should realize that the majority of people who practice yoga in the Western world do it primarily as a form of excercise. sweatdrop My parents are only Christians by default, they don't go to church or anything. They just think it's a 'waste of money', because my sister took it in college, but she dropped out like two weeks later. And Walmart doesn't have the video anymore. -sob-

Yoga is so healthy for your body. I've been doing Yoga all of my life. You know what's fun? I can jump up and while in the air I can cross my legs over eachother into that one Yoga position - without using my hands, and whenever people try to do it after me they hurt themselves. mad D

i've only taken a few yoga classes, and for me it is without a doubt the most strenuous (sp?) exercise i've done. and this is level 1 yoga. i dont know what kind it is, but it is the easiest Yoga house offers.

greendale man.. that reminds me of this one time that i was in the sixth grade. two of my friends and i threw in on a yoga book and we got it out during a sleepover we were having and my friend's step dad saw it and took it from us. his exact words: "oh yeah, let's all burn incense and do yoga and smoke pot!" then he made us go to church the next morning. he was a little bit psycho. I burn incense, but I don't smoke pot.... neutral Oh! And now, my mom's letting me try yoga! She let me have my sister's old book, & I bought a yoga mat while on vacation in Mississippi. My dad's still mad about it, but my mom doesn't care. 4laugh I'm so happy!

I sometimes go to yoga class with my mom. It's hatha yoga. I love it! It feels good, is fun, and makes you flexible.

I've been doing yoga for about a year & I use the book "Umm...Like OM A Girl Goddess's Guide to Yoga" by Evan Cooper. It's really great becuase it does not only show yoga moves but it talks about self-acceptance and stuff like that. mrgreen

In gym, they have an aerobics class I'm taking that does yoga each Friday. It's a really basic, boring yoga, but it's better than nothing.
