((The I cannot tell a lie part? Or the obsession with trees? xd ))
"Have you been to Japan before? I've only been to the Philippines because that's where my friend lives." Huni asked, fascinated about where Kimiko might have been. "I mean, was that where you found Mayu? In Japan?"
Huni may not have much common sense, so it's a wonder if it can still be called that.
"Yay! We go esplol!" Paestri cheered, waving a pudgy fist in the air. She glanced back at her guardian and saw Huni too preoccupied with Kimiko. She grinned and turned to Mayu with an 'all clear' grin.

(( XD Both, but the lie part can make for some cute jokes. ))
Shaking her head, Kimiko sighed wistfully. "I haven't been outside of Gaia. At all. I found Mayu on my doorstep with a note." It was a bit sad to her that she had not traveled, not even to see her own country. Her parents -- both maternal (though she didn't know them at the time) and adopted -- were immigrants from Japan.
Kimiko's face brightened up a bit though, and she nodded. "I hope to take Mayu to Japan one of these days. I think it would be really nice for her, you know?"
Mayu grinned back, and stood ready for Paestri to lead the way.

"Oh, that sounds like fun. The going to Japan eventually that is. Customs is hell, even if you don't fit the whole 'terrorist profile' of theirs." Huni adds with a roll of her eyes. "It's not like I don't agree with the level of security, but they can ask the most embarrassing questions."
Paestri was a little surprised to be given the lead, normally she was quite content to follow. But she supposed it would be a good chance to feel what it's like to take charge. Besides, they could always take turns the next time they saw each other.
The pink Legend decided not to go into the kitchen, she had been there with Eeenie already. Somewhere else sounded good. Maybe there was a library or something like a Study somewhere in the HQ. Only one way to find out! Quickly she crawled towards the hallway, careful not to make too much noise.

"It is, isn't it?" Kimiko twittered, reminded of what she had seen on television and read about in magazines and newspapers. "There's a few problems with me traveling, however; the airport obviously doesn't allow oversized dogs (well, at least, ones with horns, she tossed in casually) to board airplanes, and I'm afraid they wouldn't be able to stay in the house alone without completely trashing it! Though, I suppose they would be able to stay in the meadow or at my parents' home for a little bit ..." She continued, then dwindled to silence as she realized she was rambling. Laughing slightly, she clapped a hand to her mouth as to silence herself.
Mayu followed Paestri towards the hallway, the skittering sounds her crawling made silenced by the plush carpet. Paestri seemed knowledgeable about the HQ, and Mayu was curious as to where their crawling would lead them.

"Oh no, do go on." Huni nodded, fascinated by Kimiko's story. "My household doesn't have that many pets, just a Dream and a Fandangle."
Paestri peered into different room, not finding anything particularly interesting in them. And then she saw a room that had what appeared to be a walk-in closet. Of course to the little Legend she saw a room within a room and found this utterly intriguing.
"He'e" she whispered to Mayu, entering the room. It was a guest bedroom from the look of things, and no one seemed to be staying in it. It didn't strike the Legend odd that there weren't any staff members present and yet the house was relatively clean.

Kimiko sipped some lukewarm tea from her fancy cup; caffeine could be so addictive.
"Oh, you have a dream? I own two nightmares myself." Kimiko chimed, downing the last of her Earl Grey tea. She was awfully good at changing the subject.
Mayu followed the pink-haired one curiously, waiting to see what the room before them held. Curiouser and curiouser ... Though, the adventuring was quite fun. And after all, the silver-haired child loved imitating the adventures of the Rugrats she had seen on television.
"Where e's he'e?" Mayu asked, eyes wide in amazement. She had never known the HQ could be so big! From the entrance, the place looked like a simple building, but from the inside, it was ENORMOUS!

"What are nightmares like? I only received Icing as a gift from a friend." Huni asked without batting an eye.
Paestri giggled and pointed to the walk-in closet, which appeared more like a dark cave to the Legend. "He'e is he'e." She declared, "Cleepy..." she whispered in a manner akin to those used in plays.

"They're ... cute, I must admit, but a bit loud at times." Nodding, Kimiko rose once again. "'Scuse me, I need to put this in the sink." She said, walking to the kitchen.
Mayu nodded slowly, crawling into the room as to get a better view of the interior. It was ... nice. And clean, Mayu noted, by the lack of dust on all of the furnishings. "Vera cleepy!" Mayu echoed, cocking her head slightly.
"Umm, nou what we do?" She questioned, giggling slightly. It felt a bit strange to take a secondary role, as she had always played the leader on her "adventures" with Verdi.

"Sure, sure, no problem." The red-head nodded with a smile as she leaned back into the chair.
Paestri blinked as she tapped her cheek thoughtfully with a chubby finger. "Iunno..." she answered honestly, "Wat you wanna do?"

Kimiko returned to the sofa after a moment's time with another cup of scalding-hot tea. She placed the cup and saucer on the table, waiting for it to cool.
"So ..." She murmured, not able to think of any conversation starters.
"Iono," Mayu said, looking about the room. "Jump on bed?" She said after a bit of pondering, pointing to the queen-size bed in the center of the room.

Paestri's mouth curved into an "O" of curiosity at Mayu's suggestion. She had never really tried to jump on any of the beds in her house, mainly because Ning would have a fit. Seeing as how the Fandangle wasn't anywhere around, the Legend nodded toddled towards the bed.
"Help up?" she asked.
"Do you have any other children?" Huni asked in an attempt at avoiding any awkward silences. She hated the idea she was making someone uncomfortable.

Mayu pondered for a moment, then went to searching the room for a nice footstep. Dragging out a box, she pushed it next to the plushy bed and pointed. "Climb!"
Using the box as a step up to the bed, Mayu showed Paestri how to get up by tugging upon the sheets.
"Well, there's Miyu ... Though you can't really call her a kid." Kimiko grimaced, thinking back to all of the slavedriving her child had done during the Christmas season. It was terrible.

"Oh? Why is that?" Huni asked, hoping she wasn't being prying or anything of the sort. She wondered whether she should volunteer some information of herself but thought against it as things about her life was rather boring.
Paestri observed Mayu intensely before copying the pale-skinned Legend's movements. Eventually she managed to get on top of the bed and beamed at Mayu proudly.
"Mayu smalt!" she declared in awe.

"She's supposedly an elf, so she's much older than us non-magical mortal beings, you see." Kimiko nodded, continuing. "Her age, relatively speaking, is equal to mine. And the fact that she's a slavedriver should be proof enough!" She had to whisper that last bit, as mothers weren't supposed to speak badly of their children, even if they were horrible little brats.
Mayu clapped approvingly of Paestri, then stumbled across the bed. Standing up, she looked to the other girl. "Ready? JUMP!"

"Oh, I see. I've never met an elf before, at least none that I actually know to be an elf." Huni canted her head, trying to think whether or not she has met an elf. She hated her memory, it was so unclear at times.
"Yaaaa!" Paestri cheered as she got to her feet and began to bounce up and down on the bed. The springs of the bed noisily squeeked as she hopped with Mayu, feeling the rush of adrenaline.
