"Thanks," Azure said in a distracted sort of tone, watching the egg as it shook and cracked some more. Azure was rubbing the back of her hand at this point, very nervous.
A claw poked through the shell and then went back in. There was a tapping and another claw broke the surface of the shell. "Yeep!" Azure jumped a bit at the sound from within the egg.

Chane brushed the hair out of his good eye and tried to get a better look. "Have you thought about a name?"

"What? Oh..." That hadn't occured to her at all. Keeping it hadn't either. She'd rather hoped Poet had found something which would simply grow up and leave.
The sound within the egg changed, it seemed to be struggling and something within Azure was moved. She reached forward and pulled at the first hole the creature had made. She pulled back quickly when a clawed limp shot forth, finding freedom in the hole Azure had pulled.
The rest of the egg quickly fell away as though Azure had destroyed the one peice that was holding the whole thing together. And there sat the harpee, chocolate and orange in color and blinked blearily at the scenery around it.
He seemed to look from Azure to Chane, and then focusing his attention on her he began making a pip sort of sound.
"Oh! The fruit," she took the fruit from Chane and offered it to the little guy who began to eat ravenousely.
((Just sort of assuming a more "bird-like" reaction until he's been fed.))

Chane was awe struck, "What is it? I've never seen anything like that before! It's definatly not what I thought would be comming out of the egg that's for sure!"

Azure chuckled a bit, the little guy was rather interesting, and having feared a possible naga, this was definately preferable. "I don't know... Never heard of a bird with a face..."
"Krrr?" He had finished the fruit and looked inquiringly at Azure. Since he wasn't as vocal as before she assumed he'd had enough. Whatever he was thinking, he came to a descicion fast and tried flopping over to Azure. "Ma!"

Chanes eyes widened and he burst into laughter, "Azure! He thinks your his mother! Your a mommy!" Then, as if expecting a sour look from the centaur he covered his mouth and tried his hardest to stop laughing. "I'm sorry... it's so cute! I think you ought to name it Dean!"

"Whoa, I'm no more it's mom then.. then you're it's dad," she shot back, not quite upset with him but sure aiming to emberass him.
"Krrrt' t' t'" Was the noise he made, apparently a happy one for the grin on his face as he made his way out of the basket. Azure reached to steady him and he grabbed ahold of her arms.
As she winced she asked, "Why Dean?"

"I had no part in the creation of that! I guarantee it!" Chane laughed again, clearly too amused by the situation to take too much offence from the comment.
"I dunno... it just looks kinda like a Dean... What do you think?"

"Kit'rrrr!" Azure grabbed one hand and slowly pulled it away. The claws were rather sharp, she certainly didn't relish such attachments.
"I think he wants to be called 'Krrr' so maybe we'll just make it Kitrio." He smiled still at her, "Krrr!" he said more persistently and Azure grinned back. "Fine, Kitrrrrio," she said, rolling the r and making it long. To this he laughed.
Azure leaned back a bit and sighed, what was she to do now? This wasn't at all what she'd expected... would he even be welcome in Haventree? Not that she spent much time there herself, but she couldn't hide him forever.

Chane watched Azure dodge the sharp talons, "Your going to need some leather gloves... thick ones. Does anyone around here train falcons? And Kitrio is a good name... I guess. Not as cute as Dean! But it suits him.... it... is a him... isn't it?"

"Sounds like a good idea. I don't know for sure, but I know someone who can find out." Then she knew what she'd do. She'd take Kitrio back to the cave, back to where Urna and Fox Rain and the others tended to be. She knew they'd be able to figure something out about this odd child who was and quite wasn't a bird.
Then she shrugged. "I guess so, I mean he justs seems more like a boy than a girl to me. Maybe it doesn't matter with his kind?"

"Maybe," Chane said, venturing to try and pet the strange bird. "I can ask Cyn if he knows anything about... a bird with a face... I bet he's heard something."

Kitrio's eyes, which had been wandering quite a bit, focused on Chane's hand. He watched it with wide eyes, not with fear but with a wonder of sorts. "Tcha," he made some noise with his tongue and then he lunged for Chane's hand.
"That would be helpful," Azure said, the more the better when it came to discovering this thing's origins. She noticed a bit too late Kitrio's lunge, but grasped for his shoulder anyway. "Kit!"

"OW!" Chane pulled his hand away quickly and was only nipped a little by the harpy, "Geez, he's sharp! Guess he only likes you..."

"What a joy," Azure said dryly as she reached further this time and caught the boy by the shoulder. "Kree?" His face was like a child denied a toy and Azure sighed.
"Oh com'ere then," she said, getting up and bringing Kitrio with her. He grabbed her shoulder and used it to jump over onto her back, holding fast her her and looking like an overgrown parrot peering from behind her.
Azure rubbed her arm where he'd scratched her. "Those gloves are looking better and better..." she muttered.
