Well i think you have to remember that the Bible says to grlorify God in everything. They should keep it in there for the christians. If the other faiths choose not to say it then it is their problem. They shouldn't protest they should just not say it if theu dont believe it. It wouldnt be fair to the people that believe it.
So because the Christians want it we should make everyone hear it and teach everyone to say it? I don't think thats fair to Atheists who protest to have it taken out because they don't want to hear something like that in the Pledge.

And that is why I said I don't really have a view whether it should stay in it or get taken out. If it gets taken out it's because the law is there and I'm ok with that because I'm a law abiding citizen. And if it stays in then I'm fine with that too because like I said I think it's prophetic. Either way it doesn't hurt me but one way it's encouraging.
But has anyone considered it's unconstitutional.

I think a nation under God is a prophetic thing. Because in the bible it mentions all nations will bow down. SO we will be a nation under God. But at the same time if they don't want to say it they don't have to. I don't really have a view whether it should be out or in. I like that it is in but would it personally hurt me if it was taken out? No. It could even do the church a favor. Because then the people wouldn't view so many Christians on trying to force their faith upon people and the world. I dunno but thats my two cents.
I agree that people who are mad at Christians would be happy to see that we could be more reasonable.

I heard that 80% of the US claims to be christian. Usually majority rules, but in this case it is a minority that wants God out of the constitution.

By the way, I'm canadian. We still have God in our national anthem. I agree that church and government should be separate. Canada seems to be very tolerant of religious freedom. For example, if radio or TV wants religious programming, it must allow and include all faiths. On cable we have the Vision channel and many different religions have their own time slot.

I r living in Canada too surprised .
I have graduated this past school year, but here in N.B. at least, I hear, one will not be allowed to say "Merry Christmas", or things along that sort, relating to Christianity [not sure about other faiths]. It now is told one must say "Happy Holidays". -__-

Funny thing I notice a lot here. The mojority of this country, when polled, claim to be a Christian, yet we cannot have God? We cannot say God in the pledge? Nativity scenes dissappear around christmas time? Something doesn't click here, if you understand me. A christian must go through evolution as the science taught in classrooms even when they do not agree, yet an athiest must not have to sit through two words they don't sit right with in a pledge? The pledge does not say I will pledge to my country and its God. It says I pledge to the nation under God. How is it so wrong to pledge to a nation under God, when the majority of the nation does claim for the most part to be under God. It's starting to scare me that the minorities rule over everyone else when they speak simply because they are minorities. I think I'm missing something here.

Yeah I think I kinda agree. It should be people's choice. You can't just go around telling the athiests, witches, pagans, etc. to believe in God! It's something that they have to decide themselves (possibly with your help later on....)

Also, I've heard that we originally didn't have "Under God" in the pledge, and we just added it in during the whole anti-russia-because-it's-communist movement. Since the majority of Russia was athiest, we just put that in there just so we could prove we were different than them and that...I don't know...for some reason. I don't feel like researching it now because it's late... sweatdrop

yah its like its their choice if they want to choose God or not... but its important u did your part in sharing the gospel.. thats what makes God happy.. when u get to heaven and they still didnt accept God and they died theyll be suffering.. and u'll be telling them "i tried but u didnt listen" they WILL be ashamed of themselves... it may feel bad.. but.. it was really their decision and it wasnt your fault.. its theirs...
