Rei looked up suddenly, a bit late sadly, as the strange boy spoke to him, he closed his book and smiled, it was a rather strange looking book...ah the Vampire Tapastry a strange book for his to be reading, as he looked up he seemed to be near outright giggles
"oh im sorry my boy, i was engrossed, yes you may sit here" he said and slid over on the couch a little, he wasnt very old looking, maybe twenty at the most, but his green eyes posessed a predatory cunning that made meeting his stare either rapturous or out right frightening, he tilted his head slightly "young to be out here on our own arent we? if im being to presumtpous please do let me know" he said, his long black hair falling oer his left eye, he blushed dramitically "oh im sorry my friend, my name is Rei, Hitomi Rei" he said pronounceing his name in the japanese fashion, funny really, his name as a whole meant polite eyes...
he smiled his tounge dancing ont the words "whats your name?"

((Gah!! forgive me, I suck!))
Duo Maxwel had been running late this morning. He hated that. The Coffee House was his little baby, he'd worked hard to get it here. But sometimes, things couldn't be helped, and today was one of them. Wufei had allready opened up by the sound of it when he had arrived. Duo decided the best course of action would to be go in through the back to miss his friend all together if he could help it. Wufei didnt take kindly to tardiness.
Duo had a hair tie between his teeth and his hands buried in his still damp hair as he attempted the impossible, braiding the wet mess. As he came throught the back doorhe tied the end, grining at Wufei. The Chinese man glared at him.
"The cook's sick. I'm making sandwiches, but you'll have to tell everyone hot foods out of the question."
Duo laughed, grinning from ear to ear. He danced up to Wufie, kissing his cheek. To Duo's everlasting delight the black haired man blushed before batting him away. "You are needed out there."
Duo's clothes were black and simple, as was the dress standed for all his employies. Even Wufie had forgone his usual white for him. With his braid out of the way, Duo tied a white apron around his middle and exited the kitchen and moved behind the bar. Thankfully no one was here yet, meaning Duo could breathe a sigh of relief.
Today would be a good day!
((I just caught Duo up on his first post, I'll now reply to all the other posts sweatdrop ))

((it's just easier to use everyone's name, even though Duo doesn't know them))
Duo loved coffee, which was probably how he ended up with a coffee shop and not something else. He loved making coffee and between being a host and handing out coffee, his days were often busy. Duo winked at Rei, waited semi-paciently for Yami to notice him before the other waiter for the day came in.
"No problem Luci!" Duo grined at the other young man. "Between you, me and the wall, I wasn't exactly on time this morning either. Cook's sick too, make sure everyone knows that there's no meals today, Wufie's getting tegether a collection of sandwiches, so at least that's something."
Duo watched the young man, Yoko, as he handed him his coffee, wondering how anyone could look so sad. "Hold the fort for a sec Luci."
Wandering over to where the boy sat, Duo took is place across from him. "What's the problem, love?"

Lucivar nodded. "I know how to use the deep fryer, so I can make some hot chips if needed," he said, while putting on his own apron. "And Wufie didn't yell at you again did he? You know he dislikes it when you're late," he added before busying himself with some cleaning that needed to be done, while Duo went to talk with one of the customers.

Looking across at Duo, Yoko sighed and closed his eyes. He felt the world spin around him, but he cared not. The words "Why do you care?" escaped his lips, he then pulled the cup up to his lips and downed half the cup in one go. Yoko pulled the ultimate face of disgust. "Gross..." That was his first taste of coffee. He wondered why adults drank this stuff and especialy why they liked it. Still, he found it nice to hold, the warmness of it was comforting. He pressed the cup against his heart and let out yet another sigh...

"Maybe I don't care," Duo proped his elbow on the arm of his chair, his chin on his open palm. "Maybe I'm just being a good host, maybe I don't really care." Duo grinned suddenly. "But that's really not my style. Truthfully I don't wanna see tears in your pretty eyes, so I'll listen, if you wanted to tell me what's up."

Yoko hesitantly opened up his eyes and stared directly at Duo. What exactly did he mean by pretty eyes? While the only part that Yoko didn't hate about himself was his eyes, He would never call them pretty. Opening his mouth, he tried to force out sound but it was a failure. He quickly closed his mouth again and looked embarrassed. Trying again Yoko was able to squeak out the words 'He left me...'

Rei frowned a little his long hair falling over half of his face, giving him a decidedly seductive look in his black slacks and tight red silk shirt, the hue of dark blood seeming to caress his hard musculature, the young man seemed to be ignoring him, he raised a brow and shrugged and pulled out a card "if you do feel like talking my friend heres my card, i always enjoy meeting new..." he smiled and gods be damned if his canines didnt look razor sharp "friends, dont be a stranger" on the card it read Rei Hitomi, Mangaka, and had two numbers a cell and a home phone. he took his coffee and sat down on the other side of the room,
he so enjoyed a good mocha, but he sat down just in time to pick up the influx of pretty boys, he murred to himself, it had been a while since he had a bite, maybe he could pick up a bit of fun while he was here, he sensetive ears picked up the words 'he left me..." and he frowned...oh he knew how that felt, man did he know how that felt, he cursed himself quietly as his innate good nature won out over his predatory instincts, he walked to the coutner and bought a strawberry cheese dansih and walked over to the young man and smiled his most reasssuring smile and set the treat in front of him "i hate to be a eavsdropper, but why dont you tell the both of us about it?" he said brushing his waist leanght hair back behind his ear "my names Rei"

If Yoko's mouth could remember how to smile, he was sure that's what it would have done. No matter how much pain he was in, it was the least he could do. His mother always told him to smile and thank people when they showed kindness. This was one of those times. Of course, just because he couldn't smile, didn't mean he couldn't be thankful. "Thank you... Rei." He couldn't help but sit there and look in awe at him. He had such amazing hair.
All this was a lot for Yoko to handle. He only came in here for a quiet cry, but found himself surrounded by people who seemed to genuinely care for him. "It's okay, I don't mind at all if you eavesdropped," a total lie, but there was no point in being rude. "There really isn't much to tell. I foolishly fell in love, and had my heart broken. I know I sound so pathetic, crying because I had my heart..." He paused. Was his heart really broken? Was he ever in love...really? Was his uncle right and it was just puppy love? Was he too young to love? Another tear fell, and his mind never answered. "It happens to everyone. I know that, and the fact I'm crying over it makes me look... You don't have to waste your time on me."
Yoko then placed the cup of cooling, half full coffee next to the Danish Rei brought him and then placed his head gently on the back of the chair...

Rei lenaed his chin on his steepled fingers, and a slow smile played across his lips, accented by the rather distrubing points of his canines within them "well my friend, i dont mena ot be callous, but welcometo love i know how i it is to lose the man you love as well" well its out thre now, the pretty brunette next to him as well as the boy knew of his preference, but maybe this could be used to his advantage, he was getting a bit hungry, he made a small sound berteen hsi teeth, brushing the dangerous thoughts away. he leaned over teh table to the boy, he wouldnt do at all for a bit of play, he couldnt be older then fifteen, and Rei himself look nineteen, oh well, maybe on of the others at teh shop could be ah....persueded to spend some quality time with him...
"its like this my friend, love hurts, its that simple, it will hurt for a while, then it will hurt a little less, and less until dventually, it doenst hurt anymore at all, all you can do until then is just mvoe on and perhaps find someone you like better" he arched a ebon brow "i could put a word in for you with a few boys i know, they would be happy to make your aquiantance" he grinned wickedly "though i may have to tell them to be gentle...they are quite predatory" he sipped his coffee, though the warm liquid stirred a more sinsiter hunger in his gut, he looked over at the pretty brunette and smiled, his most charming and seductive smile, which was enough to turn most women to water and make even the straighest men question their loyaltys, but then he shrugged and lenaed back in the chair, brushing his waist length black hair back behind his ears and scanned the coffeehhouse for anyone that might be interested in a little bit of fun....but sighed as he saw few people over the age of fifteen

Yoko sat and stared at Rei's hair. There was something about it that captivated him. Yoko was later brought out of his trance when Yoko heard Rei's offer of introducing him other boys. Part of him was disgusted. Who did this man think he was? Did Yoko look like some poor child, who needed hand outs? Besides, his love had just died... He wasn't in the mood for -that-. Of course the other part of him was most interested. Yoko was told by his Mother that meeting other people was a good way to fix a broken heart... besides, Yoko craved to be dominated...
Still, there was something inside Yoko, deep inside, that told him not to trust Rei. He wasn't sure what it was. He scoured Rei's body in the hope to find what was telling him not to trust him. He was told by his mother to always trust his feelings. They would never lead him to pain. But he was in pain. His heart had foolishly told him to love, and besides... he was interested in what would happen. "Sure Rei... I'd love to meet your acquaintances..."
...and then it hit Yoko... it was his smile...

Lucivar blinked at being called young, sure he did look 13, but that wasn't his fault. "I'm not that young sir," he said perlightly, while writing down the order. "I turned 19 last week. But I was in an accident at 13 wich kind of stoped me from growing any taller," he said before looking at the other person at the table, half listening to what Rei was saying, but at the same time minding his own business. "Would you like anything sir?" he asked Yoko.
(( redface It's not that good, it still needs to be worked on a lot... but I'm glad you like it. ^_^ And I love my vampires too.))

Yoko's pulse was racing. Rei had just smiled again, and showed his canines. Rei was scaring Yoko quite a bit now. His instincts were screaming at him to get up and leave right then, But Yoko doubted he could run from Rei. What did he want from Yoko? Looking at the short man, Yoko said "No thank you, mister. I'm good" and he pointed to the danish that was still sat next to him.
Rei had just asked what happened to James. Suddenly his pulse stopped. His drumbeat heart was no longer playing, and Yoko froze. No-one had ever asked before. People had always assumed that he had walked out on him. "He... He died." Yoko had never said the words before... Before he could stop himself he let out what happened.
"James had recently flown out the country you see, he was visiting his father. Not to my knowledge, He had returned... I was at school, and my mother went to pick him up." Yoko closed his eyes. He had never been so honest before. He never told his story. "My mother had collected him, they decided they would collect me together from school as a suprise... Driving back from the motorway... there was an... an accident. Both died."
Yoko started to cry. He couldn't fight the tears any longer. It had been a month alone, and he hadn't ever hit him until that moment...
