I tend to not like main characters. I dislike Jack, Kate, and Locke. I don't know why. I think it has something to do with the fact that they'reall really heroic or something. That and angst. Angst is annoying. I realize that the show would probably fall apart without Jack, but that doesn't mean I have to like him.

I disliked Kate from the beginning but was fine with Jack then. Since then he's gotten on my nerves. He can be really condescending. And Kate never fulfilled her supposed criminal/rebel role. She seems to just keep getting in the way and getting the other characters in trouble (like with the "others"). Jack and Kate both need to quit acting like they're better than the other characters. Kate needs to listen to people who know better. And if Jack just respected and worked with Locke and the rest of the people everything would work out alot more often.

Jack kinda pisses me off a bit... He pretty much takes the show more often when nothing else is going on.

I used to really, really hate Jack. But then I got to thinking, EVERY character on the show has a major flaw to them. It makes them interesting.
If Sawyer wasn't an a*****e, who would keep the drama going? If Kate could pick Jack or Sawyer, we wouldn't have a sappy love triangle, now would we? They're little quirks that keep the show interesting.
Could you imagine if everyone got along and worked together all the time? It'd be boring as all get out!

And whats even more interesting about it is the characters basically know nothing about them. Jack isn't so bad, he has his moments where he is acting like a jerk and then theres moments where he's okay. But then again that is with every character, none of them are perfect. Example- Locke and Eko. Locke didn't want to press the button, Eko did, Locke was wrong. I think this is what makes up all the characters and puts the show together.

Jack was supposed to die in one of the first episodes. Then they decided to change it. Dammit! I used to like him but he irritates me now, and so does Kate. She tries to act all hard and then goes and ends up nearly getting herself/other killed. Stupid ditzy cow stare but yeah, she's not that bad I guess.

OMG!!! how can u not luv Jack?!? i mean, i no he's not the nicest character and he does boss every1 around alot, but he only wants wats best for every1.

Daemon_Eclipse Seriously, every time his face comes on the screen, or his annoying little doctor voice is heard, I want to chuck the remote at the TV. But I don't because then I couldn't see the rest of the show. I don't really know what I dislike about his character. Maybe that I feel like he took over without everyone actually saying he should be the leader. All I am certain about is that every second spent with Jack centered on the screen is a second of the show wasted in my view. I don't remember him every "taking over." He didn't WANT to be the one to lead the group, worry about making all those decisions, etc. It wasn't until Locke and Kate and everyone CONVINCED him that they WANTED him to be the leader that he actually got that position of power. But, nevertheless, you're entitled to your opinion, as are we all. I mean, I feel the same way about Sayid as you do about Jack, but there are a lot of people who love "Abdul", so that's just the way it is. 4laugh

When I first started watching Lost, I loved Jack. He was my fav. But when season 2 started I liked him less. I've come to the conclusion that when hes w/ Locke, hes a complete jerk. But when he's around other people hes fine. Like the season finale I really really liked Jack for some reason. That was the first time in about 10 eps where I actually liked him. I guess he has his good days and bad days.

I guess I never really liked Jack. I think that in the current circumstances with him, Sawyer and Kate being gone, that the best person to lead the group would be Sayid. I was watching the first few episodes again, and when they got back from the mountain with the tranceiver, he was organizing everyone and such. I think that it helps that he was in a military, because that makes him better for doing that sort of thing. I think that as time goes on, though, I dislike Jack more. I think that he's losing his drive to lead, and that maybe someone else should step up and do it, and he can focus on being the doctor, because I think that he's spread himself out so much with everything he's been doing that it's making him tired. So maybe Sayid should be the new leader?

I don't exactly hate Jack, but he's such a typical hero. The other characters seem so unique and come from such a diverse background..Then there's Jack...The 'good looking' doctor who had everything handed to him on a silver plate. Granted that his dad did do his ex wife, but Jack just doesn't stand out much. Further more, he's not even giving the 'others' a chance. Maybe if he'd stop acting like such a d**k, they'd tell him what's going on.

I used to like jack. like for me it was oooh quick jack go save the next guy. but now he is just..uh. like he was the reluctant leader so it was all go on jack you will be great..he was there for everyone..now he is doing everything for himself and juliet. he has serious issues..i mean trusting in someone he's known for like 2 weeks whereas he has been on that island with his fellow losties for a couple of months. and the whole reluctant leader thing..now it seems to me that he tries to hold that same title but he is not reluctant anymore..and enjoys telling people what to do. dont get me wrong jack is a beneficial part of the show but man he anoys me sometimes x
