Kenjo glanced at her.
"Well, Juanaros-san, if you would take the time to look before you speak, you'd notice the clocks are covered by wire cages. They aren't broken at all." and his voice took on a mock-concerned tone. "Perhaps you should head to the infirmary for an eye-exam? You never know, sometimes your eyes could just stop working."
He held up his hand, displaying the watch around his wrist. "And just like much of everything else, you can purchase a watch in the school store, just like the rest of us. And as far as the homework, someone as bright as you, Jaunaros-san? Whyever would you need to do homework? But I guess you must be a regular Einstein. Lack of common-sense is actually a particularly dastardly side-effect of genius, ne? Otherwise you would have realized that my instructions were not directed at you." There was a ripple of laughter.
He opened his text book and took a pair of reading glasses from his blazer's breast-pocket and perched them on the end of his nose. He looked up at the rest of the class, pointedly not looking at Jezz.
"My mother once passed on a peice of advice to me, which I now hand to you. I didn't understand what she meant at the time, but now I do. Tis better to leave your mouth closed and let people think you're an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it. Now please open your books to the end of chapter six so we can go over the homework."

Jezz seemed unphased by the entire ordeal. She glanced back at the class shrugging her shoulders at them and turned back to him. "Sorry for wanting to be a decent student in the academic department" she said
Then she heard his last comment and couldn't hold herself back "Well looks like you didn't take her advice after all now did you professor?" she could hear a few shocked tones from behind her "Because that is all you've been doing since we got here is opening your mouth and proving yourself an inccompetent a** and an idiot." A few dared to snicker but she didn't bother paying them any attention. She took a piece of paper and pen from the kid behind her winked at him and turned around.
"You have yet to reply on what we are discussing currently in the semester professor." she added on

Kenji shook his head again, taking his homework out and opening his book to the right chapter. He was now morally against hitting girls (his conflicts with Kotone were a different matter entirely-- she usually hit him first, anyway), but every time Jezz opened her mouth he just wanted to throw something at her. He just hated people like her-- those arrogant types who thought they knew more than everyone else around them. There were also a few choice things he felt like saying to her, but chemistry class was neither the time nor the place. For now, he frowned at his notebook and tried to concentrate on the subject they were supposed to be learning.

Renji tried to ignore Jezzabella as she sat beside him, opening his book and retrieving his homework. Luckily he had gotten it done early yesterday, while the information was still fresh in his mind. Had he waited til later, after what occured with Cyndir and Jezz and whatnot, he'd have never found the time to do it.
He expected her to shut up at any second, but she just kept going and going. It was like she wanted another shock or something. Unable to take anymore, Renji reached over, grabbing Jezz by the arm and leaning towards her.
"Jezz, stop it. You are only provoking him. You can't win this argument, so just let it go, ne?" The angry epxression quickly faded, and his blue eyes were pleading with her.
"You're only going to wind up getting hurt, Jezz-chan...I don't want that. Onegai... Just stop. "

Jezz blinked and looked down at her arm. She saw Renji then and pulled back a bit.
She was about to lay one into him, possibly even smack him one until his expression changed....he was pulling a puppy dog on her! Hell he made one cute pitiful puppy...
She sighed giving up. "Fine" she grumbled glancing at the professor angrily "But if he starts up again..." she slumped in her seat crossing her arms and tapped her foot irritably as she doodled on the edge of her paper by her name.

Kenjo raised a brow an Renji quickly hushed the new girl.
He let the topic go, and thumbed through the text, until he found the right page. He looked over the top of the small lenses at the class.
"Organic Chemistry. Carbon based compounds are a science unto themselves." he held up a plastic container on the desk. "Organic or inorganic?" he asked.
One student tentatively raised a hand. Kenjo nodded.
"Inorganic?" she said in a quiet voice. Kenjo chuckled.
"You'd think so, wouldn't you? But no, plastic is actually an organic compound, because its made from oil. Oil and its sub-products are all carbon-based compounds. Organic and inorganic are not as simple as living or not. It goes down to the base atomic structure..."
He turned to the board and scribbled a diagram and a few equations.
"Because of the way carbon atoms bond, compounds can be formed in any number of ways...."
Kenjo continued on like this for the rest of the class, which wasn't much, considering the tardy students and his little verbal spat with the tempermental one. At one point, he saw one student snoozing and threw a piece of chalk at her. He had been about to ask her to figure out if the chalk was organic or not, when he heard the bell tower. He sighed.
Do the multiple choice at the end of the chapter, as usual. Tomorrow is a lab period, so make sure you study this week's materials. Class dismissed."

Jezz had actually taken notes during the class. She wouldn't let anyone know but she actually liked chemistry, reasons unknown to even herself.
Finally the bell rang and she shoved her paper into her sketch book and before anyone could talk to her she was out the door. She didn't wanan hang around and get asked questions by students, least of all Renji.

Renji scowled as he slammed the chemistry textbook closed. Dammit. Not a single word of the lesson had sunk in. And this time he couldn't blame ogling over the oh so tasty chem teacher. He couldn't stop thinking about Jezz, and it didn't help she was sitting right beside him. When he wasn't thinking about Jezz, he was thinking about Cyndir... all in all, his brain was far to preoccupied to focus in on today's lesson. Tonight's homework would be a b***h....
His scowl deepened as Jezzabella bolted from the room. Snatching up his textbook he ran out to follow her.

Kenji had been able to pay attention, as usual. He was actually a pretty good student, albeit more likely to be tardy than most. Once he got there, he could concentrate on the subject. It was just the getting there that was hard for him.
He stood up, gathering his books, and started out into the hall. Kotone had another class now, and Kenji didn't have another one until three. So he had an hour to do nothing in. Might as well get started on the homework... Sure, he had nothing better to do. Homework it was.

Jezz was one of the first people in the classroom. She didn't even look up to see if the teacher was there or not. She simply made her way slowly to her desk and sat down. She still felt like crap and was tired as hell but seeing Renji was worth it. She lay her head on her arms and blinked lazily at the seat next to her. Yawning she rested her eyes for a moment as she waited.

Michael entered the classroom and sat down, pulling out his books and looking over them. He sighed a little at the beggining. It was the same stuff he had learned from his dad. Maybe he shouldn't have taken this science. Oh well, that was behind him now. He'd just ace this course and be done with it.

Sachiko entered the classroom, taking a seat at an empty desk. She scooted her backpack beneath the chair, after retreiving her chemistry homework and textbook. She didn't really have much interest in the subject, but the teacher was cute, and one of the nier faculty members. All in all, it could have been a lot worse.

Renji walked into the classroom, fingercombing his dark locks. He'd caught a glimpse of himself in the reflection of a trophy case, and nearly walked into a wall from the shock of it all. Had he walked around lookig like that all day?! Though he could not call himself recovered from that morning's events, he had returned to enough of himself to know he looked like hell.
His appearance was forgotten when his gaze unexpected landed upon Jezz. He quickly made his way over, sitting the seat right next to her.
"Jezz-chan! What are you doing here? Aren't you excused? not that I'm complaining, but if I was excused you couldn't drag me back into class. Do you like Chemistry that much?"

<---music theory
Cyndir came into the room and headed for his customary seat beside Renji. It was then that he remembered how Renji had reacted at the assembly. He balked for a moment. He certainly looked a bit better...though nowhere near his usual sarcastic self. He smiled at Jezz, briefly wondering why she was up and about. She looked in better shape from the night before but still seemed like she should be in bed.
"Ren-kun? You ok?" he asked, setting his books down on the desk beside his friend.
Kenjo entered the room, his hair disheveled, a stack of papers in his hand. He had been up late the night before, grading a backlog of homework papers and reviewing the records of that new student, Jezz. He plopped down in his desk, glasses askew on the end of his nose. He glanced down at his watch. Still a few minutes before class began....

Not one to be socialy inept, Michael stood up and moved to the group of friends. He noticed that black-haired boy from before. Renji... right? Only one way to find out. "Etooo... Minna-san, Konnichiwa." He looked at them all, hopeful. "Um, hello. I'm reletively new here at Midori. I arrived a couple days ago and I haven't been able to meet too many people. Um," he turned to the handsome playboy, "You're Renji, correct?" He swallowed, unsure. "Hajimemashite. My name is Yohokiro Michael. Douzo Yoroshiku."

Renji looked to Cyndir as he sat beside him, and his dimples made a brief appearance as he duck his head, a bit embarassed. He fiddled with his hair a bit more, remembering his best friend's earlier comment regarding his appearance belatedly.
"Hai hai, Cyn-kun, right as rain and all that good stuff.... Umm... look, I'm really sorry for bolting from the auditorim like that... it was just all.. a bit much right then. I kinda cracked a little. Gomenesai, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything."
His brows lifted in surprise as michael approached them. He nodded slightly to the boy's question, serching his mind as he tried to place the semi-familiar face.
"Oi, you're Inuzi's boyfriend, ne? We met in the hall the other night, I think? " he nearly chuckled, remembering the seething glare Reiku had sent his way at a little harmless flirting.
