((*bounces in* ))
While nothing had been said to the golden-red stallion, he had been under the impression that his presence was not wanted at his home teepee right now... In fact, the slightly accusatory glare from his bonded had been more then enough to warn him off from going home.
At least until Tai grew up...
So with a deep sigh he settled into aimless wandering, figuring Gully would come find him if the situation improved...
But as he looked up at the high mountain ranges, he almost hoped it would take them a long time to find him, there was just something about the high ridges that called to his heart.

Khairi's ears flickered as he hesitated. He could hear soft steps nearby as a second Soquili - and a human? - approached through the high grasses. He snorted and stomped a hoof, eyeing the young girl suspiciously. On the few occasions Khairi had met a human he hadn't been impressed. Suppose this one could be different though...
A soft whicker floated reached his ears, carried by the cool evening breeze. Icy lavender eyes focused on the pale mare at the far side of the clearing; with a shake of his head as if in question of his sanity, the blue stallion walked slowly over to join her. As he approached he kept one ear swivled towards the approaching human and mare.
Khairi paused a polite distance away from the other soquili and whickered a greeting as well. Although he hadn't noticed it before, he saw now that she had soft white wings. He snorted an threw his head up, startled.
"What are those?" The young stallion asked, blurting out his thoughts without consideration.

A small laugh came from Death as she flapped her wings and curled her legs beneath her playfully, floating her ghostly pale body from the ground. That should have explained it to him easily, but the mare didn't feel like pushing it or flaunting it.
"They're wings. It's nice to meet you. I'm Death." She snickered waiting for his reaction to that name and lifted her delicately boned head to look up at the others that were coming from all directions. She smiled at them and shied a bit away.
She wasn't a shy Soquili, but large groups could make her a little nervous.
Her back legs moved a bit and her eyes softened agian as she smiled at the little brown female coming towards her. She had seen the girls eyes light up upon seeing her, but that didnt seem to bother Death too greatly.
"Hello?" She said gently.
A giggle escaped from Banhi as she looked down at Crow from her perch high up in the tree that she was sitting at. Her soft voice floated down to the ears of the little one beneath her as her shaggy hair floated about her head. The golden look of it shimmered as she swung her legs out and fell from the sky to the ground beside Crow.
"Hey." She said happily to the smaller girl. Shanyee moved on her cheek in indignation from the brush of the air on her small insect body. But Banhi didn't mind that much.
Leaning her head to the side, the girl flicked her wrists, the goo from the firefly was still there, though it no longer glowed.
"What have you been up to little one? Still with the apples eh?" ninja

Crow looked up, suprised."Hey banhi!",she greeted. "yeah..apples all are I can find..",she said, looking down. The apple burst into flames again and she yelped and dug it into the dirt.Again.Crow moaned,"stupid apples!"..She looked up at Banhi and asked, "what have you been up to?You left while I was asleep.did you go looking for a soquili?",she giggled. Soquili could fly? Khairi watched the pale mare float above the ground in awe, pale violet eyes wide. He'd had no idea... the blue stallion met her eyes and felt a flash of irritation at the laughter he saw there. However, with a metal shake he smothered the irritation and regained his composure, embarrased by his outburst.
"I'm Khairi." He said bluntly. He arched an eyebrow and his lips quirked in what might have been a smile. "It's nice to meet you... Death." Studying her ghostly body and soft demeanor, he found the name appropriate. Fitting, really. Khairi bowed his head slightly in a formal greeting, but his eyes kept flickering over to her wings.
"I have to admit I've never seen a Soquili that could fly." He grinned wryly. "As if you couldn't tell by my reaction." His cheeks colored slightly and he hoped it was hidden in the fading light. Finely shaped ears swiveled, following the movements of the others in the clearing.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to make you that angry. I was just showing you that they're real." Death said softly. Her eyes lidded over sadly and she dropped her head. This was what was so hard about making friends with anyone, the fact that there was always something you couldn't change about yourself that irritated them.
"Well, I don't see that many Soquili, so I've never met one without them. What's it like to stay on the ground all the time?" She asked in her whispery calm voice. There were many things about her that could irritate someone, but she tried to tone down that she was a Wind Soquili and that she was laid back. Just in case someone was offended by it.
"It's nice to meet you as well Khairi. Sorry about the name, it's not something I can change. You can only go with the one you were born with right?" She said gently, the ankh on her neck shimmered as the sun glanced off of the pure black surface and made designs of light on the ground.
"Don't hold them so close to the fire Crow." Banhi took the smaller girls hands in her own dainty ones and pushed the apple up higher over the fire. Far be it for Banhi to teach someone how to cook something since she ate everything raw for the most part, having never had meat in her life.
"Weeelll I went out and got myself falling down on my shoulder. But yes, I did find a Soquili. You have to meet her! I named her Death, she's so pretty. You'll love her. She's so sweet and gentle and she has the most beautiful wings you've ever seen!" Her bi-colored glazed over with a dreamy cast in the memory of her beautiful Soquili. ninja

Khairi listened to Death's sorrowful words and felt slightly ashamed. He snorted softly and shook out his mane. "I am not angry at you, and I didn't mean to make fun of your name." The tall blue stallion stomped a hoof down and sighed uncomfortably.
"I am just not very... good... at expressing myself." His voice was soft and slightly apologetic. Meeting others for the first time was always so... exhausting, and he always said the wrong things. "It isn't you, believe me." His voice was slightly bitter. Khairi sighed again then forced a cheerful smile and took a few steps closer to the mare, examining her wings. "They're beautiful, Death." He laughed softly. "It must be nice to fly."
The stallion stood in the twilight, lost in thought, and almost missed Death's question. "Hmm? Well, I can't really tell you what its like to live on the ground because I have nothing to compare it with." He met her soft grey eyes and pricked his ears forwards. "It is the only life I've known." Khairi shrugged, a simple shift of weight. "But I do enjoy the feeling of the earth pounding beneath my feet, and I don't think even flying could beat it."
He looked at Death, an inquisitive expression on his face. "But now I have to ask; what's it like to fly?"

"I suppose you're right. Just the same that it's often hard to explain what it's like to fly in the air. If I had to explain it alloud though, I would say that it's the feeling of the wind on your skin and wings. It's a great feeling really. Just not on cloudy days." She looked up at him and smiled at the larger blue stallion.
A soft sigh floated from Death's muzzle as she peered over his dappled back at the strong muscles there. She had nothing like that. All she was, all she had been, was simply a sculpted body with strong wings and a strong neck. She didn't have that muscle, would probably never have it. "It must be so pleasant to be able to feel it. I can't run that fast, but if you get me in the sky, I'm really rather swift."
She looked out over the sky for a long moment and swished her long black tail right and left for a long moment. The colors painted in the dimming sky were beautiful. If she could have, Death would have stayed there and watched them forever. The warm colors of mulberry and gold splayed over her eyes and she almost cried. She loved to fly so much that sometimes her feelings boiled over. ninja

Khairi smiled, and he was suprised to find he didn't have to force the expression this time. "It isn't the speed at which you run," He said wistfully, gazing out over the smooth, crimson-stained pasture land. "its the passion and heart, the joy, that you pour into every hoofbeat that really matters." Realizing he was rambling, Khairi twitched his tail in annoyance and changed the topic.
"It is quiet tonight." It was true; there was little sound beyond the hissing of the grass and the creaking of branches in the wind. A far-off wolf howl, mournful and drawn out, echoed eerily in the darkening night. Khairi's ear flicked backwards and followed the sound as it faded away unanswered.
The blue stallion turned his attention back to Death. The mare's coat shimmered an irridescent white in the last rays of the sun. He followed her gaze to the horizon and the painted sky. He expression spoke volumes, and he knew instantly what she wanted. What anyone with wings on a night like this would want...
"I'm not sure I like standing around in the open like this." He spoke into the surrounding silence, looking sideways at her. "I'd rather be moving." He paused for a moment. "You can fly, if you'd like. Don't worry about me." He flexed his muscles in an exaggerated manner and grinned. "I'll keep up."

Death let out a small giggle and she flapped her large feathery wings in the wind. The breeze was intoxicating and made her want more of it. To fly or not to fly? That was the question that came into her mind as she looked to the glowing sky.
The colors swirled over the gothic Soquili's body, the white of her pelt making it easy to color it with the sky's hues. Death respected nature as much as her bonded human Banhi did, often letting the small indian girl ride on her wide back into the air and beyond the binds that kept her in the forest. It was good for both of them.
"Can you keep up? You're sure?" Death asked in her soft, sultry voice. With a strong flap of the muscled and feathered wings, Death was in the air hovering above Khairi's head. She was in a playful mood right now. ninja

The soft movement of air from her wings stirred his pale lavender mane. The Stallion pranced slightly, eager to feel the soft ground beneath his pounding hooves. It was getting dangerous; the sun was setting and before too long it would be too dark to see the ground.
Khairi looked up to the pale Soquili hovering above him; she looked etheral, framed by the colors of the setting sun. He whickered and pawed at the ground with sky blue hooves.
"Keep up?" He asked, laughing. "I guess we won't know until I try, hmm?" The stallion raised his head and looked up at the ghostly mare, grinning. "Let's go before it gets too dark." He narrowed his icy violet eyes and looked across the plain. "So, where are we going then?"
((Khairi's speed stats are way lower than Deaths... XD Poor guy.))

((In Stamina they're the same. XD))
"Where do we go? Towards heaven and the only way to get there is to run towards the horizon." She smiled down at the blueberry colored stallion before looking out. "Lets go then shall we?"
She flapped her large white wings and was off. The ankh around her neck banged against her chest as she pawed at the air every once in a while as her wings did all the work. Death's mane was blown about her head and she grinned at the breeze and the air as she flew.
After a few moments she looked down to see if Khairi was following her. If he wasn't keeping up she would slow down her pace for him, but he seemed to be. He was a fast Soquili, faster than her in fact. Death respected that and let out a loud whinny down to him to show him how much she did. It was good for hilm to know after all. ninja

"Towards heaven?" Khairi grinned up at Death and shook his head. "I think you might have an advantage there, ghost!" He couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm.
For a moment he stood still, watching her propel herself into the cool evening air. The he took a deep breath and gathered his muscles. With a bound he was running smoothly through the tall grasses, passing effortlessly over the soft ground. Long strides ate up the distance; the pale blue stallion thrilled in the feeling of the wind in his mane and the strength of his body.
The sound of a whinny reached his ears and he glanced up to see Death silouetted against the darkening sky. Khairi whinnied back and settled into a stable, floating gallop, ocassionally casting glances her way. He'd never suspected his kind could fly. She looked so magnificent!

A smiled down at him showed that Death was amuzed by Khairi greatly. She had known him for not even an hour yet, and for some reason she thought the world of him already. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that Khairi was the first Soquili that wasn't her reflection she'd ever met. Maybe. Mostly she imagined that it was his personality, she was fond of him for the way he spoke and his actions.
With a flick of her tail, Death swirled into a barrel roll and soared down towards Khairi.
"You keep up really well for just running. You must be really strong." She winked at him playfully before flapping her large dove-like wings up into the sun set, letting her tail wag to make designs in the air.
Her wings stirred clouds in the sky before she weaved back down towards Khairi again. She was having some of the most fun she'd had in a long time. It was so much fun to see a Soquili run. He seemed to be so strong, much stronger than Death would ever be in her life. ninja
