Maestro Sabastion Because people like to be sexy characters, and Gnomes don't quite strike everyones fancy. They make awesome Mages I must say. Oh and on the choice....Halfling...^^ I dont care what my chars look like. I put my dumb stat of 8 into cha. one time. As for the question though. Depends on what your aiming for. If lets say your making a druid. Go with a gnome. If making a rouge go with halfling.

People keep saying halfling because they make better rogues and stuff, but it's not like I was asking which would be better for a rogue heh. I just mean in general. But, I think Gnomes have some interesting racial features.

gnome.
Imagine this, Bilbo Baggins versus a miniature Einstein... It depends mostly on equipment, but naturally the gnome has a good deal of bonuses

I too wonder why everyone has no respect for gnomes. A gnome has plenty of useful abilities and built in personality. Many players use a halfling automatically when a gnome would make a character that's just as good and probably more interesting. Another option that's ignored(the gnomes favored class ironicly) is the bard. Yeah, they don't take as much of a direct approach to adventuring as other classes, but they can be handy in situations where other characters are just standing around waiting for another character to finish with whatever they may be doing. When a rogue is trying to disarm the extremely difficult trap that could kill the whole party if he fails. The bard is inspiring competence in the rouge to make sure he can do it.

Specialy my druid. Yet Halflings are more suited for rouge work due to their +2 to dex. Rouge needs dex to pick locks. Disable traps and so forth.

Yeah, the Song and Silence book even says that a Bard is the class most capable of soloing. While a Bard may not excel in any one area, they are decent in many. I think the reason it's overlooked is because not anyone can play a Bard. It's not the easiest class to play properly. Me, I'm trying out a Gnome Ranger. Possibly going to Foe Hunter-Hated Enemy Giant. I have to check the prestige classes a bit first though.

stare Well, being that I am, in fact, an actual gnome, in real life... I'd have to say that Gnomes are the best race... I mean bonus CON.. and that racial list... it's beautiful thing.
Can I play a Nezumi named Splinter?

Yea, both, though TMNT is pretty well known, not many people know about Nezumi, and you kinda need both peices...
