I love listening to musical soundtracks. Unfortunetly where I live we don't get big musicals often but I listen to the soundtracks alot. I'm currently adoring five soundtracks:
Aida The last 5 years Rent (duh) Wicked Avenue Q
I love tons of other musicals, those are just my current obsessions. 4laugh

Favorite musicals: The Phantom of the Opera (I've seen the movie) RENT (of course even thought I've only seen the movie) Wicked (I've heard the music and I heard that somewhere on google videos, someone put the entire video recording of Wicked with Idina up. I don't know if it's still up or not though) The Producers (I've seen the movie) Avenue Q (I've only heard some of the music) Cats (I've got the movie but I haven't seen it in a while)

WESTSIDESTORY. *shakes computer*
My favorite movie of all time, not just my favorite musical. It's so fun, yet moving at the same time. I've listened to the movie version of 'Something's Coming' 150 times on my computer alone. I have the movie soundtrack and a completely orchestral version conducted by Sondheim. I might get the OBC from iTunes. I AM THE BIGGEST(and mostly only) WEST SIDE STORY FAN I KNOW. Watch it and try to take it seriously. I swear you won't regret it.
Aherm. Other than that? Grease(movie) Little Shop of Horrors(OBC) Wicked(haven't seen it) Avenue Q(haven't seen it) Hair(OBC and movie, though I haven't seen it) Spamalot(haven't seen it, saw The Holy Grail) My Fair Lady(OBC and movie) The Sound of Music(movie, only slightly. The songs are good, but they get really annoying after a while.) And Rent. Rent is a close second to WSS.
I've seen Fiddler On The Roof, too, but I didn't like it. It's a bit depressing and very long, in my own humble opinion.
(Side note: If Rent fans are Rentheads, what are West Side Story fans? o.o)

~2chaos2~ laFred Ah, I tried watching West Side Story once, but I couldn't take it seriously.you have to get through they gay snapping lol IT IS NOT GAY. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE EXACTLY LIKE REALITY. Of course it isn't, it's a musical! So they snap their fingers a lot, so what? That's the same as saying bursting into song is gay, which, by the way, I find very offensive. As has been said, gay is not an insult.

Oh Grease, how could I forget that? I've heard a few songs from Avenue Q, don't know much about it, but I'd like to see it. It seems like a good one.
And not to mention of course hating dear old mo- I mean, many old Disney films. Lion King, Aladdin.. all musicals (and some Broadway productions). wink
