His eyes widened and his heart sank. "She's dead? You mean she's dead?" He thought of her as a very capable woman, not as much as Hawkeye but someone who wouldn't die without a fight. "And what do you mean what I performed years ago?" He folded his arms on the table impatiently.

Anna winced, ready to be pretty much yelled at, but was reassured when Mustang put his hand onher arm, signlaing her to speak.
"Well, usually, when someone's found dead in the desert, it means that person's dead... And, uh, well... I can'T really talk about it HERE..."
Pinako stared at the girl disapprovingly and sighed. This was HER house, but she was the one who had to leave...
"It's okay, I understood... Just don't burn it down... Winry, you should come with me..."
"OH, uh, sure, but I--"
"Leave your stuff here and let's GO."
The young girl hesitantly looked at Ed and Al... And left her things beside the door, leaving the house she was longing to return to for so long, AGAIN.
After waiting that the Rockbels were really gone, Anna noticed that the rain had stopped... But that the clouds were still there.
"I was talking about... When you tried... Human... To revive... .Uh..."
She REALLY hoped that she didn't have to say it entirely; She hated saying Human TRansmutation. Anna was punished too many times in her youth to take any chances by saying things like those...
((I'll be doing the rockbels for a while, seeing as no one's playing them...))

Ed winced at what he had just heard from the woman. How did she know what had happened before?
"What do you know about that?" Al looked up with a sad look on his face. It almost appeared as if he would cry from the memories.
"Al, calm down...Yeah, how do you know?" Ed stood up since he was a bit worried and standing made him feel more comfortable.

"I... I've tried what you have as well... Hence the reason why I... I sound so hollow when I breathe... I had to give up my left body from the few last ribs to the beginning of the hip. Along with my two hands and left leg... And I regret it..."
Sighing deeply, obviously holding back tears of a certain forgotten pain, Anna shook away a thought and removed her gloves, revealing her metal hands.
"My sister... Suffered similar damages, but she had her right body affected... And also kept her hands... But it cost us both a great deal of pain.
"Thing is, after that, we both threw ourselves in intensive research as to if a successful... Transmutation had previously been done. It's only a while ago that I found out about you brothers... And how you were able to get your bodies back. I stayed in Maestris alone, though, since my sister left for the desert six months ago for King... For the same purposes, to restore our bodies.
"Honestly, this is the main reason why I ca--"
"That's enough, Anna" Mustang said, after giving a smal tap behind the girls' head.
"Ah, uh, yes, sir...!"
Anna stood and bowed to the Elrics before pushing back her rebelious brown hair.
"I was expecting to ask miss Pinako if I could stay for the night, but she left... SO I'll be staying at the nearest hotel..."
"And I'll be sending this letter and going back to Central. I'll see you soon, you two"
With that, Mustang walked out of the door, and, with a relieved sigh(a rather deep one), Anna slumped back in her hair.
"I hate it when he tags along, always puts me under so much pressure.."

A stern look came over Ed's face as he looked her over. He glanced at Al who almost seemed to be in tears.
"We got our bodies back in a way we wouldn't want to put you through. It took us years to do it and we regret to this day what happened." He looked at the ground and clenched his fists.
"You should try and live your life as a normal girl..." Al smiled and tried to sound reassuring though he knew it wouldn't convince her."

Anna was already up to go fetch her coat and follow Roy, but stopped before turning around and facing them. Well, more or less, seeing as she facing looking at her feet.
"Normal girl, you say? I couldn't be one even if I tried... I was born for a reason that stil escapes me, but I can say that.. That I'm far from normal... BEcause I can do... Things that only Nicolas Flamel himself saw centuries ago... I'm... Not even a girl, not anymore..."
Strangled sobs came behind clenched teeth, as Anna remembered the tearing truth she was told, so long ago... But it was just her, not her sister...
"I'm what they call... Not a homunculi, but something strangely close, yet so far away... A forbidden child... Almost a Sin..."
Anna sighed after having took a deep breath and put her black leather coat back on the hook from whence it hung.
"I could try to explain it to you... Or show it. YOur choice..."

Ed looked at her curiously. She didn't act like a humunculous, she acted like a normal girl. Besides the fact she was hanging out with the colonel. He looked up with determination in his eyes to hear her tale.
"Go ahaead and tell us."
Al looked at him surprised. His brother was never interested in other people's affairs. Maybe he felt sorry for her since she was alot like him.

Anna looked to the side and turned around, peeling down her layer of clothes until her back appeared. A large tattoo that looked like a pair of styled wings were visible.
"This... Is the scar that was left. A seal that can be broken as many times as I want to unleash what's behind it... The first time I tried it, I almost killed myself. Because.. This alchemy takes nothing physical; It drains your energy. When you don't have enough, your body fails. That time, I felt my heart flutter... I thought I was going to die... Instead, I'm what you could cal cursed...
What it does, though, I rather show than explain."
Quickly pulling down her numerous layers of clothes, Anna snatched her coat and walked outside and waited impassiently for Ed and Al to follow.

Al glanced at Ed who nodded his head. They both got up and followed Anna out to the front yard. They stood a good distance away to be safe that whatever would hapen, they wouldn't get caught in it.

"If anything happends... I'm giving you this. Give it to the first person who asks you what happened to me. It should be the right one."
Anna untied the second necklace around her neck; It was made with raw hide for string and had two claws and one fang at the end. She was doing this for the reason she had mentioned earlier; She almost got killed last time.
Anna didn't need to clasp her hands together for this. She only needed to put her two first right fingers on her forhead, and the fingers on the other hand on her heart.
And odd alchemy circle glowed on the ground afterwards, the star and circle being there... But the same swinged pattern appeared with it, in the midle.
The outer circle slowly seemed to rise from the ground, before booming up, pulling away the leather coat and... With it...
In a rain of feathers, Anna, the girl they thought was just that, had now sprouted wings.
THIS was the forbidden alchemy; THe one where you used your very energy to transmute things. It was even more dangerous that normal, human transmutation...
Anna smiled to the two before, in a rather odd way, she fell to the ground like a hurt dove.

Ed stood there dumbfounded. He had never heard of this type of alchemy before and was amazed something like this existed. Alphonse rushed to her side to make sure she was alive.
"Ed, she's alive! I think she's knocked out but ok!" He smiled gleefully at his older brother. Ed snapped out of his daze.
"Here Al, let's get her back inside the house." He dashed over and helped Al.

It had been a while since the Elrics had managed to carry Anna inside. She wasn't very.... 'Cooperative' even though she was in some comatic state. She always kept moving and kicking around like if she was having a nightmare.
It had started to rain outside again; clouds had quickly recovered the blue skies that were exposed earlier. It was like the raindrops were trying to demolish everything without success.
Ed and Al, Anna could hear them talking, though she wasn't sure if it was close or near. She couldn't open her eyes yet. She was too tired and strained herself too much.
'That's me, all right... trying to kill myself to show off...'
As Anna tried to scoff and her self-remark, she froze when she noticed the unfamiliar chest pain. Usually... This wouldn't happen. This COULDN'T happen. Becuase you see... You know the left part of her body is automail. Well, her heart is moderately linked to it. When she'd feel chest pains... It either meant automail failure was abroad or that she was just panicking.
She chose to prefer the second option. And she was right; It was just an other side-effect of the energy drain.
Anna could open her eyes now, after about ten minutes of waiting. It was dark; She was probably in the guest room. The curtains were closed but the window was opened behind it to freshen up the air. It was just what she needed.
Sitting up on the rather comfortable bed, Anna looked around her and shook her hair. Just a few remaining feathers fell onto the sheets. This was a good sign; she had performed the transmutations successfuly.
Standing up, she wobbled a bit and managed to get to the door without any problems, the opened the door and was glad to see that it was raining. Anna loved the rain; didn't kow why though. She just... Loved it. Walking down the small hallway, she finally saw where the two brothers were; one in front of the other at the dining table.
"Heya, you two..., she said tiredly, not really caring about how she sounded. What are you talking about? I heard you from the room..."

Ed looked at her nervously while Al did the same.
"You really think you should be up?" Al got up and was about to usher her back into the bedroom when Ed grabbed his hand.
"If that alchemy uses that much energy...then why use it if you could risk killing yourself?" Ed looked at her angrilly. He thought anything that could kill someone was bad unless it was to protect the life of another. He thought of what he did for his mom, or at least tried, fell under that catagory.
Al looked at Ed nervously since he thought that straining Anna was a bad idea. "Ed she really shou..."
Ed cut him off. "Answer the question Anna."

Anna grinned in some kind of mock way as she crossed her arms and leaned of the wall to her right; the closest one. That question really had to be answered? Oh well... It wouldn't be much of a ig one...
"Because it's fun. I want to surpass myself, and the only way to do that is to push back my limits. By dragging myself just in front of the silver lining of life and death, that line is pushed back a little every time. Not only that, but when I do this, I strengthen my body by getting it used to this kind of strain. Last time... I stayed in a coma for a week before waking up. This time, it took, what? Maybe a few hours?"
No... It wasn't pride in her voice. It was more like... The excitement of discovery, of being able to do more. Anna WANTED to be more powerful, she wanted to be stronger. But she had a reason all too valuable for it. And... She would probably have to say it, too.
She didn't want to, though.
Her answer would only bring more question that would bring more, and Anna HATED questions.
"Also... I have to train myself for the days to come. I know things that you couldn't even think of knowing even in your wildest dreams... And I'll be needing to get all the more stronger before that day, or else I'll let the person I'm supposed to protect die pittifuly... And I don't want that."

Ed sternly looked at her. He knew he would sound like the person he hated most but he was willing to say it anyway.
"If you want to become stronger, why risk your life to do it? There are safer, less harmful ways."
Al looked at Ed astonished. For once he was acting his age instead of going into a spaz attack about what she did.
