Home Coming

Avitus was relieved to finally be away from all the annoying Fleet feien. What with their incessant want to get him to 'join the fun' and 'help out' it was a wonder he hadn't ripped anyone's tongue out. Now all he needed was to have his new bonded's household to be Feien-free, save himself of course. His wings were accustomed to flying, they helped get him away from the other Feien after all, but he wasn't all too good with directions and ended up wandering Barton for quite a while before he finally found the location of his bonded.

He stared up at the door that didn't seem to have any means of alerting those inside that he was here. Well, this was inconvenient and he had decided to make sure his bonded knew about it. He flew up to the window and rested on the sill, pressing his face against the glass to peer into the Stationery store with his mis-matched eyes. He saw no one was around, until the door that led to what appears to be a kitchen swung open.

Out came a teen with fiery red hair carrying a little infant who was predominantly pink in color. He made a face at the happy display the two were making and felt grossed out. He sincerely hoped his bonded was neither of the two. When the pair neared the window, Avi started to rap against the glass with his fists.

Linneas paused mid-stride, he thought he had heard a faint clicking sound. He stood still, assessing his surrounding before he heard it again. It took him a few moments to notice a small (and it was very small) blue figure in the window.

Still holding his sister in his arms, he opened the door. "Can I help you?" he asked the little person.

"Yah!" Avitus rolled his eyes in response, the red head wasn't very bright was he? "Which one'o'ya is Linneas?"

"I am." Linneas frowned, not liking the tone of the little winged man. "Who are you?"

Again, Avi rolled his eyes, "I'm Avitus, a Feien." he stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "You're s'posed to be my bonded." he made a face as if he had just eaten something that disagreed with him.

"Eee!!" Paestri squealed at the sight of the little person, it was her first time to see someone smaller than she was. Her arms reached out, as if attempting to hug him.

Avitus stared in horror and kept well out of Paestri's reach. "Linneas, we's gotta talk."

Linneas quirked a brow and nodded, "We certainly do..." and he ushered the Feien inside the shop.

Linneas
It seems I am to keep a diary about the... exploits I and my Feien get into. Oh joy. As if my Tome isn't neglected enough, well it's not like I do anything interesting to record in my Tome to begin with. But Avitus is certainly something worth writing about.

Today he attempted to declare the room where the sprockets used to be kept as his own private... kingdom? I don't know what he said exactly, all I managed to understand is that those he doesn't want around him to stay out. And that's taking creative liberties!

Well, to be fair, Avi tried to tell us his 'rules' but his voice was rather small to begin with. And he just assumes we can understand what he's saying. He won't even repeat himself. He is certainly going to be a handful, or he would be if he actually went out of that room...

I hear mom calling me, I'll be off now. I just hope Avitus will get along well with everyone.

Avitus was surveying the room he now occupied. It was a medium sized room that could easily fit two children. But when you were Avitus' size the room was huge. And he rather liked it that way. There was a certain sense of calm to be had to live in a room as large as this and to know it was all yours. Unfortunately he had no way of locking the door and securing his solitude. He couldn't use anything to bar entry and even if he were able to manipulate the locking mechanism, his bonded had the key to every room in the house.

He supposed it was a neccessary evil. Linneas was giving him his space, to be fair. But he still wished the Tale was more of a solitary creature rather than the social being he seemed to be. He sighed to himself as he flit about the room, surveying the room's furniture (or rather lack of it). There was a table for him, and a small shoe box lined with tissues for him to sleep in. He had made sure Linneas used at least two ply and nothing less.

He ought to get something better, like maybe a small mattress stuffed with cotton? Yes, that would be nice. There was nothing wrong with living in comfort was there. He'd be sure to tell this to his bonded, or the bonded's mother. Honestly, what sane person would live with their mother unless they were still infants?

He sighed once again, half-wishing he had an audience that would listen to his complaints. He flew towards the two eggs Linneas had given him, each one was as large has his head and they were in shades of blue. They were pretty but didn't eggs contain something inside them? When he shook them he heard nothing and was glad to find they were empty.

They were empty weren't they?

Paestri had snuck into Avitus' room, well, not really snuck in, more like wandered in and found the door wasn't closed properly. She squealed softly at this discovery, it meant she would get a chance to look at the new little person up close. Quietly, she padded over to where the Feien was napping and simply peered at him.

Avitus was sleeping, one of the few things he actually liked and wasn't adverse to. While he didn't dream he was calm and at peace and had nothing to complain about. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that disturbing Avitus from his naps was nothing short of committing high treason. Especially when he was disturbed in order to become 'friends' with him.

Paestri, oblivious to Avitus' disposition, began to poke the Feien's wings. They were very soft to the touch, but the exact texture was new to her. Of course with all the stroking and poking, she was expecting the Feien to wake up any moment now. She'd apologize to him and he'll accept her apology, after all everyone else did.

The juvenile wasn't like everyone else. The moment he noticed he was being prodded and examined his bi-colored eyes flew open and he lashed out with his nails. They dug into flesh and with a snarl, he sank them deeper.

Paestri yelped in surprise and pain, it didn't hurt all that much really. It was similar to being bitten by an ant. But to an infant who was unaccustomed to hostile beings, it was terrifying. Her lungs expanded in preparation to release a very rare wail.

Avitus joined in the screaming as Paestri's keening hurt his ears. He opted to drown out the pink-girl's yells with his own, and soon both of their shouts could be heard from downstairs.

Linneas burst into the room in alarm, "What's wrong? What's going on? Pae, are you hurt? Avi did you see what happened?" he was spouting questions in rapid succession, giving the Feien no chance to respond.

Paestri buried her face into Linneas' chest as she continued to sob. Avitus tasted horrible, just horrible! And she babbled about how awful the little winged thing was.

About damn time someone came in to shut the little brat up. Avitus glared at Paestri then at Linneas for not watching his little sister better. "Was woken from my nap." he answered.

Of Feiens and Tales

Avitus didn't understand why his bonded insisted they get out of the Stationery Store and go to this... park. He frowned at the very thought of going to a location where people purposely gathered at.

"Why'd we go?" he demanded for the nth time since they've left.

Linneas sighed and kept his temper in check, it seemed Avi wasn't even going to try and have fun on this little trip. Truth be told Linneas felt it would help Avitus change his perspective on people coming together if he was around more of them. They didn't necessarily have to interact with him, they'd just have to be around them.

And the park seemed like a good idea at the time...

Munich looked bored, sitting atop Rhea's head indian style, her chin resting on a palm. "Are we almost there?" she asked, sighing. "What's this talk about a park?" The Feien huffed and tugged on a few strands of Rhea's hair in impatience.

Rhea swatted at the fairy perched on her head, not really wanting to hit her, but to just come close enough to scare her a bit. "Ouch!" she cried, feeling the sharp tug on a very few strands of hair. "Quit it! We're going to the park because I said so! Now stop pulling my hair and being mean. You're always at the HQ when I'm in town, and today, you're hanging out with me. You're my bond after all," she replied, figuring they should get to know each other eventually.

She turned her head to look around, wondering if anyone she knew would be there. Last time she came, she had met up with Tiwaz and Angelus, and had explored a music store. You just never knew what would happen when you were out and about, she figured.

"Home! Home! Home! Home!" Avitus repeatedly demanded of his bond upon arriving at the park. To his bonded's credit, Linneas had chosen a fairly secluded bench that was a good distance from where most of the people were.

"What? You want to live here? Or do you want to go home?" Linneas teased, hoping to get the Feien in a better mood. The Tale liked being in the park as it gave him a chance to relax and think about what he wanted to do. That and it also distracted him from those weird dreams...

"Well, I guess I'll just make the best of it," the Feien sighed, crossing one arm over the other defensively. "Maybe it could be a tiny bit of fun." Her downturned frown twitched, almost becoming a straight line...Would the mean little fairy decide to have some fun?

Munich looked around, and noticed a tall, red-haired boy sitting on a bench on the far side of the park, all by himself--or at least that's what she saw upon first glance. Squinting her eyes to see better in the bright sunlight, she noticed that the boy had a tiny creature with him...a creature that looked much like she did.

Suddenly getting excited, Munich stood up on Rhea's head and pointed toward the boy and the Feien. "Look! It's another Feien. Let's go talk to him!" she demanded, always curious about meeting new Feien.

"Well good, I'm glad you've decided to take a positive attitude toward our little adventure for the day. You never know who you'll meet," Rhea replied, smiling. Maybe today the little fairy would change her tune.

Seeing the boy as well, Rhea headed over to him, and the closer she got, the more familiar the boy's smell was. Could he be a Tale like her? No way! she thought. What an interesting chance meeting this may turn out to be. As she neared him, she waved. "Hi!" she said, walking over to the bench. "I think I should know you," she stuck out her hand for a proper handshake--of course. "I'm Rhea."

Avitus was beginning to relax when he spotted a figure approaching them. He tensed and his frown deepend to a scowl as he purposely turned his back to the approaching person. He didn't even bother to take the time to notice the figure had a Feien with her.

Linneas noticed the shift in weight on his shoulder, he had barely glanced at what Avi had done when a young girl just marched right up to him and introduced herself. She was a rather brave one, wasn't she?

'Think of it as a good thing, Linny. No one thinks you're a threat, because you're such a wuss.' Lynn snickered.

The teen ignored the voice.

"Really now?" Linneas smiled back as he accepted the proffered hand. "I'm Linneas, pleasure to meet you Rhea. Wait, Rhea... where have I heard that name before?" he wondered, tapping his chin thoughtfully.

Munich flew down from Rhea's head, and landed next to Avitus, slightly irritated that he hadn't acknowledged her presence. "Hello." She gave him a light tap on the shoulder, trying to encourage him to turn around. "I'm Munich. Who're you?" Munich loved meeting new Feien. The more audience she had, the better.

"Nice to meet you Linneas," the little Tale said, smiling up at him. He was quite a bit taller than she was--even taller than Angelus! But he smelled like a Tale...you could always smell them coming. "Well, I'm guessing you've heard my name around the Stationary Shop...Are you a Tale too? You certainly give off a familiar smell. But it's a good smell...not stinky at all!" She giggled, pleased to meet this new person. She wondered if the Feien he was with was his...

Avitus didn't even glance back despite Munich's efforts. In fact, he got up and flew over to Linneas' other shoulder, away from the other Feien.

"You'll have to forgive Avitus, he doesn't like being around anybody." Linneas apologized to Munich on the Feien's behalf. He did hope Avitus would eventually be a little more tolerant of other people's presence, and especially of other Feiens.

Linneas listened intently to Rhea's chatter, now he remembered. "Oh right, you're the Tale that Ning says likes to ask questions." he laughed, "And you can smell Tales? That's neat, I can only tell if something smells good or bad and everyone can do that."

Avitus' eyes widened as he heard Linneas say his name. No! Now the other Feien would know what to call him and won't stop pestering him now. His scowl deepened and he suddenly wished he had spurs on his feet so he could dig them in Linneas' shoulder. But he'd have to make to by telling him off once they get back.

Munich could not believe what was happening. Was the other Feien ignoring her? It couldn't be...She'd have to make him pay attention if he wasn't willing to do it himself.

Hearing the Feien's name spoken by his bonded, Munich smiled slyly to herself. This should be rather interesting...Avitus eh?

"Well, I guess he doesn't," she nodded, scowling over at the seemingly pouty Feien. "How can he even stand to be around you?" she inquired, honestly curious about Avitus' relationship with his bonded. For now, she'd give him a break. But she hoped the break wouldn't have to last too long...

Rhea just watched as the Feien with blue markings moved deliberately away from Munich. She couldn't help but stiffle a giggle. She wouldn't have wanted to be around Munich either. Good thing this kid could feel out the vibes before he got in too deep!

Looking at Linneas, Rhea smiled. "Yeah! I remember Ning! I met it when I first came out of the tome. I was pretty excited to be here, so I'm sure I bombarded Ning with far too many questions," she replied, looking down at her hands. "Well, I guess a lot of Tales can smell others like us. I know Jiro and Angelus can do it, and I can distinguish your smell faintly. I'm not so good at it as the boys are," she continued, nodding.

Avitus frowned simply because Munich was still there and talking to Linneas of all people!
"It's getting crowded." he declares, mismatched eyes glaring at Linneas, as if willing his bonded to get up and leave.

"I don't really know how Avi- ow!" Linneas yelped as he felt tiny nails dig into his neck. He rubbed the spot and glared back at the Feien, "I don't really know how Avitus can stand to be around me. But I'm guessing it's because he has no choice and I give him his space if he really needs and deserves it." Linneas shrugs.

He returns his attention to Rhea, "I saw Angelus just recently, he grew since the last time I saw him." he smiles findly at the mention of the younger Tale. "And Ning's fine, although she's a little wary of the younger Tales now." he adds with a laugh.

Linneas wasn't getting up? Why!? "Linneas, moooooove!!" he whined.

Munich giggled as she watched Avitus claw his bonded. They were so similar, she thought, smiling at the Feien with bicolored eyes. She was sure that they could be friends...if only he wasn't so--perpetually annoyed.

"Well, he sure does seem to enjoy torturing you," she commented. "Maybe he wouldn't do it so much if you did what he wanted..." Her small voice trailed off as she arched backward to take another glance at the Feien on Linny's other shoulder. Flying up and over to him, she hovered in the air next to him. "Avitus. Pleasure to meet you. You're difficult to talk to you know...Do you really not like other Feien?" And then, she followed up with a whisper, hands cupped around her mouth. "And do you like watching your bonded twitch in discomfort? I know I do." She said, giving him a smirk and a wink, and then flying over to Rhea's shoulder once again.

Rhea smiled at Linneas, nodding in understanding. "I get pinched by this one all the time," she said, pointing to the Feien that was now sitting atop her right shoulder, running her small fingers through her short purple hair. "Sometimes, she's not so nice, but I think we're getting used to each other...right Munich?"

Munich just shrugged. "I guess. They really didn't take me too seriously when I complained at the Fleet HQ. I guess we'll be together for awhile, so I've tried to let some of my anger go." She muttered something intelligible under her breath, and then rolled her eyes, looking bored.

"Hey, you can go whenever you want fairy girl. I think you like me, regardless of what you say." She turned to face Munich, and quickly gave her small poke in the back jokingly.

Turning back to Linneas, Rhea smiled as she heard Angelus' name mentioned. "Yeah, he's so BIG now! I couldn't believe it! I hope I grow soon too, so I can catch up to him. I feel so small now..." She looked down and blushed a bit, then quickly recovered. "Well, I hope I didn't scar Ning too much. I've tried to stop asking so many questions all at once. It's easier to spread them out while you're talking to someone," she said, nodding.

Avitus involuntarily twitched at the sudden proximity of Munich. Before he had time to move away, the other Feien headed off. All the better! He agreed to go to Gaia because he was informed there were less nosy Feien here than in the fleet.

At least that was as much as he could remember after the memory wipe.

He didn't miss his previous bond, not her personally. He did miss how she didn't seem bothered to leave him alone and give him his space. Unlike his current bonded. He frowned in annoyance at Linneas. Oh well, at least he listened to his complaints and tried to do something about it.

Why couldn't he have both? It just didn't seem fair.

"Yeah I don't like other Feien who don't know about distance." he states, the whining lilt still present in his voice.

"Are all Feien this... physical?" Linneas asked Rhea in a stage whisper. "We haven't been together long, only a few days really." he adds, "We'll get used to each other. Eventually. Probably.

"Anyway I'm sure you'll grow eventually, Rhea. And asking questions are a good thing, although I do agree that asking too many at once gets very confusing for the other person."

Avitus didn't seem to agree with Linneas and began to complain about the weather being too humid, the sun too bright, the grass too green. He seemed to be trying to convince Linneas that they leave the park. NOW.

Unfortunately it didn't seem to be working.

Munich just stared down the other Feien from her bond's shoulder in an attempt to give him the evil eye. If she had some hex magic right now, she certainly would have used it. "Well, I don't like unpleasant, nasty Feien who want to have nothing to do with anyone," she shouted from her bond's shoulder.

Crossing her arms over her chest, her eyes slitted as they remained focused on the other Feien. "And here I thought we could be friends! But all you do is whine and complain like a baby!" She'd had just about enough of this Feien.

Rhea just giggled as she watched Avi and Munich fight from the Tale's shoulders. Though Munich wanted to get along with everyone on the surface, Rhea knew she was just waiting to find a good target...And Avi seemed like the perfect specimen at this juncture. She could only imagine the nasty things Munich was plotting to do to Avi.

"Well, Mun here is pretty physical...She's big on magic too though...She's got two brothers and a sister too, and all four of them are pretty physical I think," she nodded, wondering how Linneas would ever be able to get along with Avi. "Well, good luck. I'm sure you'll get to know each other better soon enough. Mun still doesn't like me all that much," she said with a giggle.

"I've tried really hard not to ask too many questions at one time. I think I get better answers when I spread them out," she said, her chest puffing out as if she was proud of overcoming her annoying habit of questioning. "I know I'll grow eventually too...I guess it's just a matter of when." She paused, and then looked up at the teen again. "Wait, you look really old...How long have you been on Gaia? You must be one of the first of our kind."

From his vantage point on Linneas' shoulder Avitus glared back defiantly. It didn't matter to him what this other Feien thought nor did it seem to bother him that she didn't like him and was voicing out her opinion of him.

"I haven't hit you and you haven't hit me. Doesn't being friends mean being nice?" At least that was how Avitus defined being friends. "Linneas not friend, so I can hit." he shrugs, folding his arms across his chest.

Linneas sighed as Avitus explained himself, he often had to think over what the Feien said to really understand what the message was. So they weren't friends, were they? Somehow this relieved Linneas more than it should have.

"Yes, we're not friends because we're bonded." He supplied.

"Yah, that's what I said." The feien rolled his eyes, honestly his bonded could be so dense.

The Tale felt himself twitch at being called 'really old.' He wasn't really old! He wasn't even old! His mom was old, but he was a teenager. "I guess I am the first one of us who arrived in Gaia, but I'm not old." he frowned, his brows knitting together.

Munich just giggled as she watched Avitus turn away. She knew he wouldn't last under her stern gaze. She was amused to hear that hitting his bonded was being compared to killing him. Though Munich might not have liked her bonded, she certainly wouldn't think of killing her.

"I know you don't kill him," Rhea retorted. "But it's still not nice to hit other people! How would you feel if Linneas hit you?" she asked, genuinely curious. Did he have any cares for himself or others?

The sudden strange outburst startled Rhea a bit, and she let out a nervous giggle. "Yeah, I doubt he'll be able to do much to you at all," she said, nodding at the redhead. "My mom's name is Elysia. She's kinda tallish...with curly silver hair and big blue eyes. Next time we come to the Stationary Shop and you're there, I'll introduce you to her. She's really nice to me."

"Linneas won't hit, Linneas can't hit." Avitus shrugged, "You hit Munich?" Avitus asked, eyeing the other Feien curiously.

At hearing his bonded speak, Avitus quirked a brow. It didn't sound quite like Linneas, but it was still Linneas wasn't it?

"My mom's name is Huni. I'm a little taller than she, and we have the same red hair. Her eyes aren't gold like mine, they're jade green." Linneas described, "And I'm sure I'll like her as well." he smiled. "I'll introduce you to my mom, or maybe she's met you already?"

Rhea just giggled. "No, I don't hit her! I may swat at her every now and then, but she knows better, and moves before my hand can touch her." She laughed again, looking over to Munich, who had managed to crack a smile for her bond. "I'm just saying...If you hit Linneas enough, he may just get mad and hit you right back. I'm just giving you a warning for next time..." she continued, hoping that Avi would learn something from this meeting.

"Huni. Mmm...I'll have to remember that for when I meet her. She'll be surprised if I know her name already! Wow, you and your mom must look a lot alike. It sounds like it at least. I'lll be pleased to be introduced to her next time I see you. I dunno. I don't think I've seen her in the shop before...just Ning."

Munich had been to the Stationary Shop once, but the visit hadn't been very long. Every time Munich met other Tales, they were out and about in town, or at the park, or the fountain...She wondered if she'd met the woman they were talking about...

See? What was there to worry about? If the little Tale didn't hit her Feien, why would Linneas ever hit him? Avitus nodded to himself in self-satisfaction. His thoughts turned to Huni, what did he think of the female red head?

"Oh she will be very interested to find out how you know her name." Linneas chuckled, "Ning might have told her about you, but mom has a very weird memory." he chuckled awkwardly, it was true, Huni had the bad habit of forgetting people's names and faces.

Munich was starting to get a bit agitated, and she wondered if she could fly off for awhile to explore the park by herself. She hadn't really hit it off with Avitus, and she figured her time could be spent better elsewhere. Perhaps it was time to check out the HQ again. Last time she was there, she had met the Inquisitor and another Feien, so perhaps this time, there would be others to meet.

"Rhea, I think i want to go to the HQ. Can I go?" she asked, using her sweet voice to gain favor with her bond.

"I'm sure she'll wonder," Rhea replied to Linneas, a sly grin crossing her face. "We can trick her! Well, unless Ning told her...But if she's got a bad memory, I'll bet she won't remember me."

Hearing the Feien speak softly in her ear, Rhea's head whipped around, a little taken off-guard. The whisper had given her ear a tickle, and she'd practically jumped out of her seat. "Oh gosh, it's just you! You scared me for a second there Mun," she paused, thinking about the request. "No, I don't think I want you to go to the HQ today...We're having a nice time here with Linneas and Avi...You can just stay and hang out with us."

"Oh fine," she said, sighing as she sat back down on Rhea's shoulder, facing her neck this time. She acted nonchalant as one small hand reached out to Rhea's exposed flesh, fingers readied for a hearty pinch...

Avitus felt his thoughts being interrupted every so often because of Rhea and Munich. Why couldn't they keep it down? He frowned, "Linneas when we go?" he whined, wings flapping irritatedly.

"Oh come on, not you too." Linneas pursed his lips in mild annoyance. It wasn't often that he got to interact with other Tales. And this one had a Feien as well. "How long has Munich been living with you and your mom?"

"No call me Avi!" The Feien declared, stamping his foot on Linneas' shoulder.

Munich quickly executed her pinch, causing both she and Rhea to jump a bit in reaction. But Munich recovered quickly, laughing heartily as she jumped up and flew away from Rhea, prepared for the swatting that she would most likely receive. "I got you!" she exclaimed, laughing heartily as she hovered in mid-air, staying just far enough way to prevent any sort of slap by Rhea.

Rhea scowled at Munich, rubbing her neck, trying to get the feeling to go away. "That wasn't very nice!" she exclaimed, jumping up to swat at the feien who was now flying through the air, much faster than Rhea could catch her. "You need to learn not to do that to me! I don't care if you're angry...There are other ways to show your frustration!" Rhea and Munich were definitely quite the pair...

As Rhea gave up on chasing Mun around the park, she plopped back down on the bench, giving Linneas a half-hearted smile, the red welt on her neck still flaring.

"Sorry about that...Sometimes she makes me really angry." She paused, thinking about how long Munich had lived with them. "Well, I think Mun's only been with me a month or two now...She's still pretty new to me. I'm not quite sure why they picked her for me...because well, we're not very much alike."

She turned to Avi, and decided to tease him a bit. The feien really needed to learn how to lighten up. "No? Call you Avi? Well, haven't I been calling you that? What, don't you like it? Is there something else that you'd rather I call you?" she asked, still a bit confused about the feien's speech pattern.

The Feien rolled his eyes, "Avitus." he stated simply, was it too difficult for them to understand that he didn't like being given nicknames? He saw no point to it, hence he never called Linneas "Linny" despite hearing nearly everyone else in the house address him as such.

Linneas suppressed a laugh as he watched bonded and Feien interact. Although he knew it would hurt to be pinched, especially since Avi had recently taken to scratching.

"It's been only a few days since Avitus arrived, and I don't know why we became bonded either. I do remember filling out a form, but that's it basically. Avitus isn't as agreeable as I expected."

"Well, Avitus it is then," Rhea said, looking at the Feien and nodding, a hint of sarcasm in her voice. He was a mighty particular juvenile...Rhea hoped that for Linneas' sake, he'd be a bit more open-minded about meeting other feien in the future.

"A few days huh? Well, I don't know how Mun bonded to me either. I don't even remember filling out a form. Mom told me that she signed me up, but maybe she didn't fill out my personality information well enough. Munich is definitely nothing like me."

She gave Linny a tired grin. "Well, I hope the two of you can learn to get along better. You never know..."

Munich had taken to flitting around the low branches of the tree they were sitting under, exploring the leafy green underbelly of the foliage.

Avitus decided to leave the two to their conversation. He'd have enough 'company' for the day and hopped off Linneas' shoulder.

"Where are you off to?" The Tale asked, noticing Avitus' departure.

"Over there." He declared, pointing towards some nearby flowers. It seemed so much more peaceful there.

"Yeah, I'm giving Avitus his space as much as I can. But I can't help but worry for him, you know? It's not good to stay cooped up all the time. What do you do for fun?"

"Well, now that they're gone..." she commented, laughing a bit. "Boy, I never thought having a fairy as a familiar would be so hard! Both Avi and Munich are pretty hard to get along with. But at least I know there's someone else out there suffering along with me," she gave Linneas a knowing smile, and a quick tap on the shoulder.

"I take Mun pretty much everywhere with me. I know she hates it, but she comes anyway. I can't help but think she likes me just a little bit." Shifting in her seat, she pulled her legs up onto the bench so she could sit indian-style, her dress covering her lap and now folded legs. "Well, I guess I do lots of stuff for fun. I read a lot of books, and I hang out with my friends. Not too long ago I went to the music store with Angelus and Ti--," she paused. "Who's my best friend. She likes to sing, but I don't think I'm very good at it. We like to think about the adventures we'll go on when we grow up. Right now, we're working on a plan for if we ever need disguises," she stated matter-of-factly.

The Feien settled down peacefully on top of some fallen petals. Their aroma was calming, relaxing and it was genuine flowers not the artificial sort he remembered seeing in the shop. Apparently no one in the shop knew how to garden!

"Avitus rarely goes with me unless I threaten to leave him with Paestri." Linneas chuckled, never really believing he could use his sweet little sister as a threat. "Oh you've met Angel?" he smiled, recalling having met the Tale. "But who's Ti? I might have met her but I don't remember." he says sheepishly.

"Disguises eh? You planning to be spies?"

Munich squeaked from high in the tree. She'd been sitting on a high limb, watching the goings on below. She was still pissed about Avitus not wanting to talk to her. She had come to the conclusion that he was rude, and really, who would want to be friends with someone like that anyway! She'd be glad to give him his space, she thought, an angry frown on her face.

It was then that she saw the caterpillar, and practically fell off the branch. It had crept up slowly, but Munich hadn't realized it until it was right up on her. "Eek!" she squeaked as she tumbled backward away from the bug. It looked even bigger close up. Fluttering over to another branch, she watched as the caterpillar posted up on its hind feet, wiggling out toward her as if it wanted to follow her.

"Paestri? Your sister has a really interesting name...Is she a Tale too?" she asked. She hadn't met any Tales that had a brother or sister who was also a Tale. There was Angelus and Jiro, but they weren't really brothers, even if they now shared the same blood.

"Angel? He lets you call him that?" she giggled. "Next time I see him, maybe I'll try it out. Angelus was the first Tale that was really nice to me. I like him a lot," she said, nodding furiously. And she did. Rhea was very fond of Angelus.

"Oh, Ti! Her real name's Tiwaz. She's a Tale like us. She was actually the Tale born right after me. She's got long hair like mine, but it's a nice shade of purple. And she has eyes like me too! She also has cool wings. They're black and look like a bat's wings, and they have silver markings all over them."

She paused to take a breath, and giggled at Linneas' question. "Not spies...we just want to travel around and see the world! And you never know when you'll need a good disguise. I already know that the world isn't as easy to get along in as it seems..."

Avitus had his mismatched eyes closed, deeply breathing in the scent of the flowers. He was beginning to fall asleep, and the thought that Linneas wouldn't know where he was didn't even cross his mind.

"Paestri's not a Tale, she's actually a Legend. Or at least that's what my mom says." Linneas grinned. He nodded attentively as Rhea described her friends with great enthusiasm. Rhea was a little bundle of energy wasn't she?

"Tiwaz eh? I think I saw her before, but briefly. And I know what you mean about the world." he sighed, "But traveling would be nice, I just don't think I'll be doing much of that though." he adds with a small chuckle.

Finally able to rest, Munich watched as the caterpillar gave up trying to get her, and wandered off, munching on a leaf a few branches over. She sighed and looked down at her bonded, who looked like she was enjoying herself. God, they were going to be here forever! If only the other Feien was more socialble. They'd be having a grand time right now if that were the case. She was sure of it.

"Aaah, she's a Legend? Mom's mentioned something about them before, but I haven't really heard much. How did they come about?" she asked, wondering if these babies just magically appeared in a cloud of smoke. If she could come out of a book, she was sure there were other crazy ways of delivering children.

"No travelling for you? How come?" she asked, curious as to why someone wouldn't travel, even if they wanted to.

Avitus was snoozing very, very peacefully by now. Sleep was one of the few things that he did like, although he wasn't about to admit it to anyone other than himself. However, he also overlooked the fact that he was currently vulnerable and helpless to any outside force...

"Mmm, mom says Paestri was found in an old abandoned bakery wrapped around an apron." Linneas mused, finding it rather amusing in itself. "And as for travelling, I don't really know myself. It's like I'm tied to the shop by invisible strings. I mean I can go places, like the park or the cafe but eventually I'll feel a strong pull to come back."

Looking around boredly, Munich spotted Avitus sleeping on a pile of fallen petals, not too far from where she was sitting in the tree. Devious thoughts instantly crossed her mind. The Feien had not been friendly at ALL, and the cruel little voice in the back of her head taunted her.

Muuuuunnnnich...Go get 'em! You know you want tooooo... It called to her, teasing her. Generally, she was more than happy to please the whispering voice, but this time, she wasn't so sure if she should.

Fluttering off of her branch, Munich flew quietly over to where the other Feien was resting, pondering her next move.

"In an abandoned bakery? Were her parents bakers?" she asked, thinking that Paestri had been left behind as her parents fled the bakery. "Very strange," she said, thinking out loud. "Huh. I wonder if the pull you feel toward the store has something to do with you being the first Tale...It could be," she said, giving the redhead a curious look.

"Bakers? Maybe, Pae does seem attracted to baked goods. Mom doesn't know any myth or legend involving baking though." Linneas laughed. "And I guess that is a good reason why I get drawn back." he nods.

Avitus' wings stirred slightly, but didn't seem to wake. He shifted his position, snuggling against the petals.

Rhea looked lost in thought. "Yeah, I can't think of a myth involving bakers or baked goods either," she said with a grin. "Maybe she's making her own legend instead," she offered. "Well, it's too bad you can't go too far from the store--but I guess if you're happy with being close by, well, that's all that's important."

The fairy slowly crept up on the sleeping Avitus, watching his every move. She was observing so intently that when his wings twitched, Munich jumped a bit. As soon as he settled back down, getting comfortable with the petals, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Once she was absolutely sure that he was asleep soundly, she crept up on him, hovering right above him, just at arms length. Instead of really attacking him, like she was temped to do, she reached out and gave him a tickle in the side, then shouted. "BOO!"

Immediately, she flew up and away, just waiting for the angry Feien to come after her.

Avitus had been happilly snoozing when he was rudely awakened by tickles and a shout. He practically leapt up in shock, his heart pounding in his chest. Mis-matched eyes scanned his surroundings and saw Munich fly away.

The nerve of her!

He furrowed his brows and flew after the Feien. "What's your problem!?" he yells.

"Having a place to come home to is nice, and I can't think of anything better than knowing that it'll be there when I get back." Linneas nods. He hears something, a high-pitched squeak that is very familiar. He turns towards the source and see Avitus flying after Munich. "It looks like Avi decided to make a friend."

Hearing Avitus shout from behind her, Munich's face plastered itself into a smile, and she flew up high in the air, wondering how high the other Feien's stamina was...If she could just get far enough away, she could prevent reprecussion.

"What's that!?" she shouted back at him. "I can't hear you very well! Did you say you were rude...and an a**? Because that's what I thought I heard," she said, giggling to herself. She'd probably gotten herself in trouble, but oh well, at least they were now having fun...even if it was at Avi's expense.

Munich swooped over to where Rhea and Linneas were still sitting, and she came to a screeching halt on Rhea's had, mussing her hair up as she came in for a quick landing.

"Rhea! Help me! He's coming to get me!" She put on a look of nervousness for her bonded, and lept down onto her shoulder, hiding in Rhea's curly locks. She'd get away with this yet...

Before all hell could break loose, Rhea was having a pleasant time talking to Linny. She was surprised she hadn't met him before. "Yeah, it is nice to know that home is always there waiting for you," she agreed with a nod. Looking up at sky, she saw Avitus chasing Munich down, and in seconds, her Feien was hiding among strands of hair, much like a weakling.

"Well, I'm not sure if they're going to be friends," she said with a giggle. "Avitus looks pretty upset."

The insults didn't seem to bother Avitus, he didn't care what others thought about him, it was more of the fact that Munich woke him up from his nap!

"It better'n being a nasty little tick!" He shot back. He had almost caught up to her, if he only had a little more stamina. He had to rest for a moment before resuming the chase.

Linneas was enjoying the conversation with Rhea and had wished they had met sooner. Noticing the commotion, albeit it was small given the Feiens' size, Linneas frowned at seeing what his Feien had done. Or rather what he thought his Feien had done.

"Avitus, what are you doing?" he demands, intercepting the juvenile from attacking Rhea's hair.

"What? No! She started it!" The Feien screamed, pointing an accusing finger at Munich. Needless to say Avitus was pissed.

"Avi, stop blaming others for your own actions." The Tale scolded, why was the little Feien so... nasty?

"But I ain't done it!" He whined with a stamp of his foot.

"Well, ticks like to eat blood, and I know I don't like blood, so I'm probably not a tick!" she reasoned, shouting back to him. "I may be nasty though...but I like being nasty!" She stuck her tongue out at him while peeking out between waves of silver hair.

"Mun! What are you doing?!" Rhea exclaimed, giving her Feien a rather dissatisfied look. "Have you been messing with Avitus?" she asked, making sure to use his full name, even though she was temped to shorten it.

"What'd make you think that?" she asked, putting on her sweetest, most innocent voice for Rhea. "I wouldn't hurt a flea!"

Looking to Avi and Linneas, she turned back to Munich with a stern look. "You'd better apologize. Here I am, trying to have a nice time, and you're causing trouble!" She turned to Linny and Avi. "I"m sorry guys. Munich says she didn't do it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that she's the culp--"

She was interrupted by a sharp pain emanating from her neck. "OWW! Mun! You'd better be flying away right now!" she warned, swatting at the Feien with the back of her hand.

"You asked for it!" Munich exclaimed, her tiny fingers quickly unpinching the skin of Rhea's neck as she moved to avoid the half-hearted swat. "I can't believe you ratted me out!" she said, shouting into Rhea's ear.

"Then you ain't no good then!" Avitus snarled at the other Feien, folding his arms across his chest. Though whether it was because Munich didn't like blood or that she enjoyed being nasty, it was difficult to tell. Avitus was never very good at expressing his ideas clearly. He huffed and flew sit atop Linneas' head, that damn Munich wouldn't dare try anything while he was on Linneas' head.

"Oh dear, Avitus couldn't you have at least tried to make friends with Munich? She did try being nice to you when they got here." Linneas frowned, peering up at his Feien.

"No, no, I'm sure Avitus must have said something that made Munich angry. I'm really sorry about that and owch!" He winced, his hand instantly flying to the source of the stinging pain.

Avitus had yanked a strand of his bonded's hair out. What on Gaia made Linneas think he deserved being woken from his nap?! He took no satisfaction in hurting his bonded, he just wanted to make a point that Linneas was not to apologize for something he didn't do. He flew away in time, avoiding being trapped beneath Linneas' hand.

"Well, whoever said I was good!?" she retorted, snapping right back at Avi. If he wanted to fight, she was more than down to do it. She watched as Avi pulled a strand of hair from Linneas' head, and almost wanted to clap for him. Finally, he was showing signs of having similar interests!

"You're right Mun. No one ever said you were good..." she agreed, nodding. She rubbed her neck with her hand, hoping to feel the sting dissipate. For some reason, the little Feien had quite the finger grip! "Well, just about everything makes her angry, so I'm not surprised. Maybe we should just keep them separate from now on," she said with a grin. "It's too bad they can't seem to enjoy each other...I was having such a nice time talking to you Linneas!"

Avitus rolled his eyes at Munich, he hadn't meant that sort of good. Honestly, everyone was completely dense.

"Home. Now." he demanded, hovering beside Linneas' ear. If needed be he'd yell into it to prove a point.

Linneas sighed in annoyance, "Mun seems to be a lot better at making friends than Avitus is."

He sneaks the male Feien a quick glare before facing Rhea again. "Yeah, I think it's for the best. For all of us." he adds with a chuckle. "And I think I should be going back, Avitus seems to have had his fill of the park for today."

It was quite evident in Linneas' eyes he wanted to stay longer and talk, however he knew if he did stay Munich and or Avitus might become physical with each other. The last thing the Tale wanted was the two Feiens hitting each other.

Munich just stuck her tongue out at him again, watching him roll his eyes at her. She was temped to give him the finger--a gesture she had learned from Elysia not long ago. Rhea didn't know that Munich knew about such foul gestures, and it was probably better that way.

Glad to hear that he was ready to depart, Munich made the same demand. "Yeah, that Avi guy sucks," Munich said, whispering into Rhea's ear so no one else could hear. Can we go home? PUHLEEZE??"

"Well, I'm not so sure about that," Rhea said, giggling. "She does like to make friends, but they need to be careful of her attitude. You can't press the wrong buttons..."

Rhea gave Munich a scare, shrugging her shoulder so that she was almost falling off of it. "I guess you're probably right though Linneas. It'd be better if a fight didn't break out." She nodded, in definite agreement. "But I'll have to come see you at the Shop again. You don't leave much eh? I'll definitely come visit sometime! And I'll leave Mun at the Feien HQ or something...Or she can stay home--whatever. It was lovely to meet you Linny," she said, slipping into a nickname for him.

About damn time! Avitus would have cheered and clapped in triumph but he didn't think it was worth the effort. Instead he made himself comfortable on Linneas' shoulder and stuck his tongue out back at Munich.

"Well if you do end up bringing Munich, I could always lock the door to Avitus' room." Linneas laughs, knowing very well how much Avi had wanted to lock the door to his room since he arrived. "It's been wonderful meeting you, Rhea." he adds.

Munich didn't even bother looking back at the angry fairy with funny hair and bicolored eyes. They'd meet again some day, she was sure of it...and next time, things might not go as well, she thought to herself, beginning to work out a plot in her mind.

"That would be funny!" Rhea exclaimed with a laugh. "Let's hope he doesn't mind too much--but I kinda doubt it."

"Nice to meet you too Linny! I hope to see you again sometime soon. Then we can actually talk more!" she added. Rhea loved meeting new Tales and learning all about them. Even the Tale she had clashed with most at the beginning was now her best friend. Funny how things work out, eh?

With that, she waved at both of them, and strode off through the park, back toward Gambino. It was almost dinner time, and she was hungry. "Mun, didn't you have any fun?"

The Feien laughed. "Of course I had fun! I got to bother that little imp until he was ready to be rid of me!" She broke out into hilarious laughter, occasionally hiccupping through it. "He would have been a good partner in crime, but I think I just like torturing him far too much!"

"Well, maybe next time will be better?" she asked, half not wanting to hear an answer as she shrugged her shoulders. "I hope you'll be on your best behavior during our second meeting. Okay, Miss Rude-y Two Shoes?!"

Another Feien?

Linneas had decided Avitus needed a friend, one he couldn't get away from. The Tale was a social creature (to some extent) and would rather his Feien be a little more inclined to make friends. Perhaps the presence of another Feien would encourage him? Yes, that sounded like a good idea to the teen. So he filed a request to purchase the opportunity to have another Feien. But he wondered if Avitus will become violent with the other Feien if it was his. Not wanting to risk such a thing, he opted to write his sister's name instead of his own. She had been growing so fast and so much, he was certain she'd be old enough to care for a Feien of her own.

And this way, Avitus can't use sibling rivalry as an excuse to avoid the new comer should the Feien be capable of thinking such a thing.

It had been a few weeks, probably a few months since he had made the request and finally word was sent the bloom had arrived. He had gone to pick it up himself, wanting the arrival to be a surprise.

And Paestri was indeed surprised. She was rather delighted that she was going to be taking care of a small person, a different small person. While she showed no hostility to Avitus, she didn't seem as inclined to approach him as she did the others.

Which was great news for the anti-social little Feien.

"So Pae, what're you going to call him or her?" Linneas asked.

The Legend cocked her head to the side, "Dunno, will think of one when it comes out." she beamed.

"Little ******** better not be as nasty as the shrimp." Malady hissed, the shrimp being Avitus.

Backposted - New Year's Eve: Calm Before The Storm

Avitus did not care much for holidays and celebrations. The Feien always saw them as nothing more than an excuse to cavort and engage in disgusting displays of affection. It made diminutive creature ill to watch humans and humanoids hug, mingle and spend as much time with each other as possible. What's worse, they expected him to join in.

What nonsense! There was no way he'd ever be caught dead in one of those parties they attended. Thankfully he could use the bloom as an excuse to stay behind, "Someone gots to watch it," He reasoned sourly. Since they bought it, Avitus was hoping the Feien that resided in the bloom would never emerge.

In fact, he rather liked the darkly colored flower. It was a lot quieter than the other creatures living with them. And much easier to get along with than those insane sprockets that ransacked the room a few doors down. Today, Avitus noted, was a slow one. The matriarch was off wasting their funds on frivolous things but at least she took the two monsters with her.

Avitus couldn't stand Paestri or Arya, both girls wanted to play with him and dress him up like a doll. As if he'd let them. He certainly showed them by ripping the offered garments to shreds with the toothpick he had managed to swipe from the kitchen. The Feien was also starting a collection of random, pointed objects to defend himself with. If he could only fasten them together as an armor he'd be set.

Suddenly, he heard noises coming from downstairs. Immediately, he groaned, did they bring a party here!? The Feien would soon find out that it was a celebration, but it was not being held by his bonded.
