PR: what did i get myself into?

Lee's loft apartment was above the artist gallery where her own creations were displayed, and while she didn't own the building, the rest of the artists didn't care to have the apartment above the gallery, and she had claimed it as her own. It was a charming place, littered with charms and tokens and street signs and gallery posters and drawings and carvings, just about everything. The young woman created collages, out of her drawings and other things well, and so she kept everything that she came across.

It wasn't a great place to raise a child, but then again, Lee hadn't known the responsibility she had now wrapped around her finger, and probably wouldn't have known it at all, had she not glimpsed a flutter of white hanging from the bottom of the lantern as she stepped back to admire it from where it hung from a beam. Prying the tape off, Lee eased the note open, the ink having bled a tiny bit from where water had touched the bottom of the lantern.

The Card
For Aaylee
I entrust you with this lantern
Just make sure not to break it
Or I will break your neck.
Type: Eccentricity
Alignment: ---

A puzzled look crossing her face, the woman read the note again, and then a third time. It was just a lantern, why the threat from Chai? And what about the 'type', and 'alignment'? Most of the normal lanterns that Lee had bought in her time definitely did not have either of those.

Aalee sighed softly, peeling off the sweatshirt she still wore to reveal a colorful printed shirt underneath. She picked her way through the rubble on the floor, to the small area that she had sealed off with a curtain, which contained only a large bed, a chest of drawers, and a bedside table. Clearing off the clutter on top of the small table, Aalee reached for the phone, dialing one of the numbers scribbled on the multi-colored wall.

"Hey Chai, it?s Lee," Lee said, waiting until after the answering machine picked up. "Call me back when you get a chance, I have a question about the lantern I took with me." With a click, the phone was returned to its cradle, and Lee rose to her feet again, hugging herself in uncertainty.

Even from her bedroom, the woman could see that the lantern had a small swirl of orange mist hanging about it, another trait of the odd ornament. This was going to be a long night.

accessorization quest!__.

Bright, bold, and beautiful! That butterfly glows with a light of its own. Perhaps it needs a little more spice, though...? That lantern looks much too plain.

accessorization quest: Part I

Lee groaned, pressing her face into the pillow and trying to shut out the sound of the alarm by hugging in her blankets closer around her. Dammit, of days that the client was supposed to come, it had to be this one. The young artist could have spent all day in bed, rather than discussing the possibilities of a commission from some richie that would probably not even want her work anyway.

With a single sigh, Lee rolled over onto her back, swiping at the clock several times before actually hitting the off button of the obnoxious noise. The ring of silence vibrated in her ears, and Lee groaned again, swinging her legs over the side of the bed and rising to her feet. She wiggled into a ruffled skirt, bohemian in style, and the least wrinkled shirt she could find in her drawer, all while trying to calm the series of yawns that wouldn't stop, and attempting the rub the sleep from her eyes.

A final glance around the room before she headed downstairs for the only working bathroom in the building brought her eyes to rest on the new lantern. While the woman had slept, a tiny moth had been called to the lantern, though it hadn't been lighted as of yet. "Damn moths," Lee groaned inwardly, and stomped to the lantern, the only thought on her mind to squish it.

As she drew closer though, Lee could make out that it was not a moth, but instead a gorgeous butterfly, bright and bold, exclaiming all colors of the rainbow on its non-symmetrical wings. Drawing closer, the woman expected the butterfly to fly away, but instead, it continued to circle the lantern, as if it were a watchful guard dog.

"Some guard dog you are," Lee shook her head, still as grumpy as before. She was definitely not a morning person. However, the artist couldn't help but watch the butterfly in amazement, never having seen a butterfly with wings that differed in both pattern and color on its wings. The lantern looked vaguely plain in comparison to the bright colors that could almost fill a room, and almost in an afterthought, Lee grabbed the lantern from it's hook as she turned to go, though she wasn't sure why. And sure enough, the butterfly followed it's lantern faithfully.

Gorachii
Kaekia's butterfly has finally begun to glow! Very late, but beautiful nonetheless.

The butterfly disintegrated into tiny glowing fragments, before reforming into the body of a child!! She looks so pretty and exotic... I wonder what her personality is like?

PR: welcome to the family

Several times a day, Lee's eyes would drift to rest on the brightly colored lantern and it's fragile watchdog, and the sight would always bring a smile to her face. For nearly two months after the painting of the lantern, not much happened, and the petite artist found her eyes drifting less and less, as she grew used to the flash of colors behind her eye as she turned her head.

It seemed at times that the artist could be timed Queen of Horrible Timing, and this was no special occasion. Nearly moments after Aalee left the house to run to the store to pick up assorted odds and ends, the polychromatic butterfly and the faint mist that surrounded the brightly painted lantern began to glow in the dim light of later afternoon, and a faint hum could be heard, as if the lantern and the butterfly were vibrating so fast as to cause noise.

Though there was no one there to watch it, the butterfly disintegrated into tiny glowing fragments, like the glittering last glimpses of a falling firework. Quickly, cautiously, the fragments reformed, the tiny particles of a butterfly becoming the faint outline of a child. Then, just as the butterfly had fallen into pieces, a child faded out of nothing, as if having been transported from one place to the next.

The child yawned widely, revealing tiny, perfect white teeth for the unliving sculptures to see, and ruffled the feathers of her multicolored wings as she rose to her feet. Large eyes unclenched and opened slowly, revealing glimmering violet gems, the shade as bright as the blues, oranges, and greens that made up the patterns on her body. Wider and wider they opened as the child peered around at the cluttered apartment of her absent caretaker, the girl looking almost as amazed and happy as a normal child at the candy shop.

"Wow," she cooed, finding her voice unexpectedly. The child gave a squeak of excitement, all of these things being new to her wide eyes. Unable to control herself any longer, the Anima ran to the hat rack, uncurling bits of rope, old belts, and a feathered boa that had lost at least half of the feathers. She slid her oddly colored arms into the sleeves of a patched long coat, and wrapped the boa around her neck and the rest of the belts and strings acting either as belts to tie the coat. The Anima stood on her tiptoes and stepped into tall boots, and used the extra leverage to tip a couple hats off their respective positions on the hat rack and settled them on her head in a cocked fashion.

"Kiri!" The girl decided, a wide grin on her face as she pranced around in her outfit, twirling the boa around her arm and tipping her head at the cluttered items.

It was just then that the Queen of Horrible Timing wandered in the door, the one who would be late to her own funeral. "Oh my lord," she sighed, one hand on the door and one hand clutching the paper bag of groceries. "Who is this??

PR: recorder training

"KIRI!" The artist yelled, poking her head around a fringed Indian rug that was hanging from the ceiling to cover the small corner that Kiri had claimed of the loft as her own. "Where are you, girl?" Kaekia mumbled to herself, finding the cluttered space null and void of any Anima.

Wavy black hair bobbing slightly, Kae made her way down the stairs, nearly running into the wall at the end of the cramped landing. "Kiri!" she yelled again, using the energy to propel her into the artist studio. The acid smell of a mixture of drying paint, glue, hard clay, and who knows what else filled her nose and she breathed in deeply, the smell warming her heart as she once again realized how lucky she was to be able to have this place to call home.

"You in here, chica? I have time to teach you to use the recorder if you want!" Kae called, tempting the anima to come out, knowing how much Kiri had been wanting to record her thoughts with the tape recorder that she saw her mother using.

A wide grin emerged from into a large box of yarn, and eccentricity tumbled out, her colorful skin stained with all the colors of the rainbow from when she had tried to use her body as a canvas. "Giel!" Kiri called, skipping over to Kaekia as she hummed a short melody to herself, a word that Kaekia took to mean 'Alright! Lets go, mum!'

The human laughed to herself and grabbed Kiri by the hand, tugging her up the stars, and let the anima run and find a place to sit. She chose a tin of half-dry paint and sat, enjoying the squishing noise that it made as the paint molded to her bum. "I'm going to catch you red butted when you do something wrong," Kaekia joked, pulling up a chair beside the little one.

"Alright, so if you want to record your thoughts, you need to get your own tape," Kaekia said, and began to explain to Kiri, though Kiri squirmed uncomfortably, not good at sitting still for long amounts of time. "There's a big box on my desk, which you already know, from that time you decided they would be a good addiction to your boa. Fit it in here like this," Kaekia demonstrated, catching Kiri's eye to keep her from squirming.

"When you start, you want to say the date and the time, and then your name, so that we can keep yours and mine separate. Try to keep them all together, alright love?" Kaekia knew by now, from experience, that she had to keep Kiri's attention by asking her questions and making her feel like she needed to learn what was being taught. She never remembered anything any other way. Kiri nodded brightly, reaching out a hand to grab the tape recorder.

"Go away, Mommica!" Kiri pleaded, twisting her face to one that Kaekia could never refuse. With a grin, the artist rose to her feet and started to the door. "I'll be down manning the desk, if you need me. Remember, it?s not a toy!" she reminded Kiri before she started down the landing again.

RP: kiri meets atraia

Koyuki Sanata
Driving, yes driving, to Anima gardens was one of Atraia's favorite things to do. After Koyuki got her car Atraia has been asking for rides through beautifull places, such as a forest that seperated Koyuki's house from the gardens because it made her feel like a princess.

She was a princess. Slightly snobbish, outgoing, and loved everyone so she could get things she wanted.

"Yuki. Can you teach me how to be pretty?"
"Why are you asking me?"
Yuki knew she wanted something. She always did.
"Because you're pretty!"

Now. Something happens when someone says you're pretty. You forget all about that person and just think of how nice they are. 2 seconds later, Atraia asked for clothes and makeup.

"Yeah we'll go shopping- OH LOOK THERES THE GARDENS lets go."
Yuki smiled, hoping this will make her forget about the whole 'lets buy a bajillion things because Atraia askes so sweetly for them.'

Kaekia
It was one of those rare occasions where the person in front of you when you're driving is actually going to the same palce where you were going. Of course, Kaekia didn't really get time to notice, instead, she was attempting to get Kiri to get OUT of the sunroof and stop the Anima from yelling at the cars that they passed that she liked their license plates.

"Kiri, darling, I know that you think it's fun that everyone has a different license plate, but you're beginning to embarrass me," Kae told the child, but that only succeeded in egging the young girl on somemore.

"OK, look, here's the gardens!" The woman nearly shouted in relief, speeding up to catch up to the car in front of them as they pulled into the beautiful gardens, as well. The Anima sighed unhappily as the car slowed down and quit ripping feathers from the tattered boa that she wore around her neck, and she climbed down from where she had been perched, grumbling odd words.

Koyuki Sanata
"Finally we're here. Thankyou for the ride Yuki."

She was being polite because she really wanted to go shopping. After all she only had 10 dresses, 5 shoes and a few posters and things of makeup.

"Are we going dancing tonight?"

Yuki grinned. Dancing, yes. She would drive through the nice neighborhoods to get to the place, dance, let Atraia fall asleep in the car as she got some chinese take-out and looked at nice peices of clothing.
Dancing was a must.

Atraia looking around notcied a child around a car that had been following them. Not really hearing the child, because of the music she was playing, Atraia didn't know if this child was like her or... crazy.
She was beautifull. Outgoing markings, white hair like hers turning into diffrent colors oh my this child was pretty.

"Hello there!" Atraia waved smiling. "Welcome to Anima Gardens!"

Kaekia
Kiri blinked for a moment as she tumbled out of the car, letting her eyes adjust to the brighter light before she realized that there was someone her age, waving and talking to her. The Anima squeeled happily and ran to the other child, hanging onto the boa for dear life to keep it from tumbling into the breeze.

"HI! ImKiri!" The girl exclaimed, her words fast and musical. Kiri's long tail twitched, the tuft on it the same colors as her hair and wings and blew a strand of hair out of her eyes. "Who're you?" she asked curiously.

Kae got out of the car more cautiously, checking the car that had parked in front of her with a small smile, unsure of what she should do in this case. Still protected by the door, she raised an arm and waved.

Koyuki Sanata
Atraia gave a small bow, afterall she was practicing to be pretty.

"My name is Atraia. It's nice to meet you Kiri! Is this your first time here?"
Looking at the other owner she gave Kiri a hug, to let her and her owner know she was nice and outgoing. She better get something out of this.

Koyuki gave a smile and noticed a person waving. Not exactly sure if she met this person she glided over softly to her, letting her small black wings do what her feet should do.

"Hello, my name is Koyuki. I;m... not sure if we have met before. School is draining me..."

Kaekia
"Nice to meet you, too, Atraia," Kiri managed to say, convicing herself to slow down a bit. "Are you an iris?" she asked, looking over the colors that flowed over the other Anima's body with a small grin. "Iris' are very pretty."

Kae raised her eyebrows, and shut the door quickly, as she watched the other person advance. "No, I don't think we've met," she said politely. "I'm Kaekia, but you can call me Kae. Is that your little girl over there?"

Koyuki Sanata
Iris? What the heck was that?! Atraia hasn't heard big words latly except for The United States of America and Ultraviolet Rays that she heard while sleeping in Koyuki's school.

"What's a Iris?" Finally getting what she was saying Atraia made a small blush and smiled "Thankyou, you are really pretty as well!"

Koyuki nodded and smiled looking at her Anima who was looking rather confused. "Yes thats Atraia. Look out though, she seems really cute, sweet and stuff but she usually uses that to get stuff. I remember I spent $100 one day because she wanted a dress and played all sweet just to get it." Koyuki paused and laughed. In fact all atraia had to say was 'Yuki, you're pretty and I want to be just like you.'

"Is that your little one next to her? She looks amazing!"

Kaekia
"An iris is a flower," Kiri said, attempting with all of her drama to be very wrodly and knowledgable, though, in truth, she had only emerged a couple days past. It still never hurt to be smart hwne yo uwere meeting someone, right? The Anima

"You want to make a daisy crown?" The colorful Anima's attention span wasn't very big.

Kae snorted, and shook her head, fiddling with the car keys in her hands. She couldn't have afforded $100 for a dress, not on her salary, so it was definitely a good thing that Kiri had taken to raiding her guardian's old clothes and liking them beter than the ones that Kae had tried to buy her.

"Kiri seems to like my old clothes, even if they are big for her. She loves that old boa to death, it seems. I guess it's good on my pay check, but she looks so funny sometimes." Kae said with a laugh.

Koyuki Sanata
She never really learned how to make anything, after all she was so used to people making things for her. "Can you teach me? I'd love to learn how." Smiling she looked over and found a patch of flowers and walked over there and sat on the edge.

Koyuki giggled, because she thought she was adorable with it. "It's okay if small children look a little funny with things, because it makes them seem cuter. I wish Atraia would try and wear funny things, she only likes Lollita dresses and makeup..." Giving a small smile she rememberd when atraia put makeup on one of her dolls and became angry when it wouldn't come off. "Shes, already grown up, liking boys and make-up. I'm afraid of what she might get you know. After all her lantern was based after Allure... and well. We know what that could mean."

Koyuki Sanata
Atraia took a flower and made a small hole, but sadly ripped the flower. Trying again she finally got it and tried again.
"Like this?"
For something so simple like this, it was really fun. Who knew making things could even be fun? But, it of course doesn't beat a day at the mall.

"I could only hope. Atraia is so... weird. She wants to be really pretty and complains that she isn't so she asks for things to make her pretty. I'm lucky I live in a small house, but bills are getting crazy from the car and gas. I used to fly here, but Atraia doesn't know how to fly yet."

Kaekia
Kiri giggled and grinned, filling more and more flowers into the tiny holes. "Yup! Just like that, keep going and you'll have a crown, or a necklace that lasts forever!" she said, wiggling happily into the flowers as she settled down onto her belly to sniff the sweet smells of the earth.

"So what is this place?" she finally asked, looking up from her work to admire the building. "It looks like it could be a building cut into a bush, or a butterfly's palace!"

Kae nodded, the expression on her face showing how she only knew how much bills cost. "I'm an artist, but I got so lucky as to where I live. There was al oft apartment above the gallery where I display my work, and the person who owned the building offered the space to any of the artists. I still have to rent it, but it's a great location, and I don't have to drive to my work. But sometimes I get paid in a month, sometimes I don't."

Koyuki Sanata
Happy to know she was doing things correctly Atraia kept working at it untill she had enough to make a crown. "What do I do now? And this is Anima gardens. It's where I came from! People come here and buy a lantern and then they have a child. It's weird no?"

Koyuki smiled and thought of the fly to work and back. "I work with travel, and I'm also a artist. My house was basically abandonded and I cleaned it out and lived in it. Simple and cheap... but kinda creepy."

RP: kiri's hyperactivity

Cerena
"Now make a quarter turn and lift your leg up, bent at the knee, foot drawn up your other leg, hands clasped above your head, and breathe. You are a tree! Be the tree. Let your leaves take in sunshine and--Wait." Cerena blinked and let her body relax, turning to stare at the lanterns. "...I guess photosynthesis is impossible in the shadows of the rafters. WHO WANTS TO SUNBATHE?!"

The young brunette hummed happily to herself as she took down lanterns and set them out in a sunny patch of grass near the house, noting with mild interest that more and more seemed to have 'activated' -- well, okay, just one, and with a cool blue kind of relaxed, happy feeling surrounding it. Neat.

When her transportation job was done, Cerena flopped over into an odd little heap on the gravel path next to the lanterns. "You are a sunflower!" She shrieked.

Kaekia
"A sunflower?" Kiri crowed, her little feet beating against the gravel path as she stumbled onto Cerena and her faithful recruits. "I can be a better sunflower than those lanterns!" she squeeled, and fell onto the ground, spread-eagle. "See look, here's my petals, and my boa is my stem!"

The anima giggled happily, having jumped right into the conversation and class without any thought that she might not be welcome. She had come to the anima house again to find someone else to play with, and here was someone who looked fun! She could join the class.

Kiri's dark body was still strained from where she had tried to paint as if her body were a canvas, and her hair was knotted from running around and screaming all day about being bored. Kaekia had finally given up and agreed to take the child to the house, as long as she promised to stop yelling at the people in cars.

Cerena
"Huh?" Cerena managed to untangle herself and sit up to blink at Kiri. Hey -- it was that Anima! The one in the picture album that she was showing the nice people the other day! It was too bad they had to leave so suddenly... She vaguely wondered if it was because they didn't like the tea.

"Oh, well, yes." She 'hm'ed to herself, jumping to her feet and brushing herself off. "You make a lovely sunflower, but I think a tiger lily would be more appropriate for you! And more fun for you," She addressed this last part to the lanterns, who appeared as if they couldn't care less.

"So let us stretch for the skies, and let out a giant... flower-y.. lily.. roar!"

...What came next?

"Oh.. and then, um... You do the hokie-pokie and you turn yourself around, that's what it's all about.......?"

Kaekia
"A tiger lily?" Kiri asked, and blinked, her face shifting into one that was obviously her thinking of how a tiger lilly might look. The anima scrambled to her feet and stretched her arms high to the sun, and openned them with her palms up and then tried to lean forward into a crouching position with her face curled into a menacing growl.

"Like that?" she questioned, and then toppled over to land among the sweet spring grass, and giggle escaping her mouth.

"Hey, why are the lanterns here anyway?" Kiri asked, propping herself up on her elbows as she stuck one leg in the air beside her ear. "Are they for the fireflies?"

Cerena
"Well, Chai made them. They're the lanterns that attract butterflies that turn into little people like you." Cerena blinked, awed at the Anima's flexibility and balance. If she could do that she would...! Well, she didn't know what she'd do, but it would probably be very neat.

"What's your name?" She asked as she moved forward to gather up the lanterns again, not wanting them to get sunburned. "I'm Cerena, I help Chai take care of this place... I've seen pictures of you, in the Anima picture book!"

Kaekia
"Then why aren't I a butterfly?" Kiri asked, not quite understanding was Cere had said, and therefore feeling vaguely skeptical that she had ever been a butterfly. "OR! Maybe I am a butterfly and just never knew it!" The anima scampered to her feet and began to prance around, trying her best to flap her arms like wings, forgetting that she had her very own wings attached to her back.

Kiri's lurching found her feet very close to the lanterns, and inches closer would have sent her foot crashing through the fragile paper, had Cerena not distracted her. "Oh, I'm Gashqush. Or maybe I'm Iriel." she pondered for a moment, a wide grin on her face at the thought of tricking the elder. "I'm in a picture book?" Violet eyes grew wide with excitement and Kiri probably would have flapped herself right through the wall of the house to find the book with her picture in it, had a butterfly not chosen that moment to flutter past her nose.

"BUTTERFLY!" The anima screeched, and took off running, forgetting her attempt to be a butterfly herself. "Come back here, mister! You need to guard the lanterns!"

Kaekia
The bright glint of a sunbeam off of the quartz caught Kiri's eye, and she turned, flinching as the sunbeam passed over her eyes and then went off. The shiny or the butterfly? "Look, I'm shiny, too!" Kiri called, waving her arms in the air to try to imitate the reflective piece of rock. Each time the Anima rose into the air, her wings fluttered slightly, keeping her in motion longer than normal, though Kiri didn't seem to notice.

Kiri could see now that there was someone else standing by Cere and the lanterns, and she decided without thinking that it was time to return. The anima dropped to her belly and wriggled her way over to the pair, and only when she was right by their feet did she stand, grabbing a handfull of grass and one lone flower as she rose. "I brought you something!" she shouted, shoving the handfull of weeds at Cere.

FireyButterflies
"Hello...Cerena it was, right ?" Lena answered and wondered where she got this lack of spontaneity from. Wasn't she usually the happy, greeting, friendly person ? Perhaps it was just because of her sudden life circumstances.

"And who are you little one ?" The young woman kneeled down and looked at the child with a friendly smile. What...unusual colours it had. But Lena wasn't shocked by such things anymore, she had enough 'strange' kids at home to look at.

Cerena
"It's lovely!" Cerena clasped her hands together in glee, accepting the bundle of weeds and stuffing them into her obi so they stayed by her side. Of course... She would need to keep this hyperactive little Anima occupied if she wanted to retain any hope that she wouldn't up and spontaneously combust while she was supposed to be watching her. Where were her parents.

"Uhm, HERE!" Looking around, she caught sight of her bowl of fruit (not yet given to the lanterns) and picked up and apple. She reached forward t balance the apple on Kiri's head, stepping back and beaming proudly at her work. "For you," She said, before turning to Lena.

"Yes, that's right!" She said cheerfully to Lena. "Hey, did you ever fill out an application to adopt an Anima? I told Chai you were interested after you came the other day and she made a lantern for you but I forget if I ever went through the necessary paperwork..."

Kaekia
"I'm Likoa," Kiri said, her large eyes blinking up at Lena for an odd moment of calm before she was bouncing away again. "And look, these are the lanterns. I tried to catch a butterfly to put inside and make it's tush light up and make some light, but it went away." Apparently, the anima seemed to get a little confused as to the difference between fireflies, butterflies, and candles. "That lady said that I came from one but I don't believe her," Kiri shook her head and pointed at Cere as if disappointed.

Unfortunately for Cere, Lee had decided that whoever was at the anima gardens could deal with the hyperactive child, and that she was going to catch up with some much needed sleep. Kiri never seemed to settle down, or really even need any sleep, and it was hard work keeping her in tact.

The swift motion of placing the apple on Kiri's head caught her attention, and she seemed about to jump up and down with excitement before she realized that it would knock the present off. "Uh, what happens if it comes off?" she questioned, and attempted to lean her head back to look at the apple. The fruit fell to the ground, landing with a plop onto a pillow of clovers.

Lenachan358
As Lena watched the girl she had to grin and tried to surpress laughter. She had always thought her daughters had been active...but this one was incredibly hyper.

She turned back to Cerena and shook her head slightly. "Signed up ? No, actually I didn't. I thought I just said this whole children-lantern thing is interesting..." As she listened further she raised both of her brown eyebrows and then they slowly moved down into a frown. "Wait ? Did you say she made a lantern for me ? Does this mean there's a child inside for me ?!"

There was panic mixed with curiousity and astonishment in her voice. "A child like...this one ?" She pointed at Likoa.

Vanille Chocolat
It was such a great relief to be out of the house that Vanille was sorely tempted to skip to the Anima gardens rather than amble along at her usual meandering speed. She?d finished her usual morning chores and most ? meaning very nearly half ? of her homework. The rest had been hastily into her satchel, the strap of which showed signs of having recently been repaired with large cross-stitches of tangerine thread, and was now bumping into her hip with every step. More carefully cared for was her lantern, which was clasped securely to her chest, wrapped in its long scarf. A wintry accessory wasn?t needed on such a day, but Vanille thought it looked really quite fetching, so it stayed.

The girl still hadn?t discovered why she chose to take the lantern for walks. Goodness knows, she was utterly paranoid about breaking it, and it would be far safer left on the windowsill back home. It probably made her look stranger than she really was, lugging the thing along the lanes to the gardens, enough to make passers-bys? heads turn at least.

Now, she entered the gardens and made her way down the path. Upon spotting the handful of people, she slowed her pace to observe them and recall if she recognised them. She?d seen Cerena around before, feeding the lanterns grapes and teaching them yoga, but she?d never met the other two. Shifting the weight of her own lantern, she tugged an arm free to wave at them in way of greeting. ?Hey there!?

Cerena
"You die!" Cerena informed 'Likoa' cheerfully in response to her question. She was about to say something further, but the panic in Lena's voice made her turn her attention away to her before she decided to do something crazy like throw grapes at her.

"Oh, well, that's too bad..." She frowned slightly, leaning over the pile of lanterns and pulling one out with a deep, red-orange glow. This lantern was different than the others in that it had a charm attached to it -- an 'experiment' on Chai's part, though the girl wouldn't tell her what exactly it was supposed to do. "This one was supposed to be for you, but I'm sure we could find someone else if you don't feel..." She trailed off.

"Well, actually, first you have to spend some time bonding with the lantern! And then a butterfly comes! And then the butterfly explodes and FROM THE BUTTERFLY DUST COMES A CHILD OF YOUR DREAMS JUST FOR YOUUU!" She gestured dramatically. "..So no child yet, but soon. If you wanted."

She was then promptly distracted in her speech by the appearance of a newcomer. "Hi! Want to play balance-the-apple-on-your-head-or-else-you-die?" Oddly enough, she seemed to be talking more to the lantern than to the girl carrying it.

Koyuki Shirogane
"Cere!" A voice called out from behind the thin door that closedly firmly. The silhouette of a female.

"Mind you, it's time for the yoga for the lanterns!" The voice finished. Koyuki mumbled darkly to herself, before her friend did anything to hurt any poor lanterns.

One of Lena's hands decided to think on her own and slowly moved towards the lantern. It looked beautiful...and she loved children...and all of her children would enjoy having a lantern friend...well, probably not all of them...alright, probably just two of them.

"Well..." The woman started and her eyes flicked from side to side as new people appeared. "Well...I'm just moving into this new house in Barton Town and there's one empty room left....." Slightly hesitating she stared at the orange feather, before she was disrupted by different voices.

Lena smiled slightly and nodded a simple greeting to the new person with a lantern and the other strange one talking about....YOGA ?! That's when Lena made her decision. She would at least save this little lantern from these strange people...at least one !

Vanille Chocolat
?Hmm?? Vanille ditched her satchel beside the path, a bunch of papers sliding their way to freedom from the crammed depths, and dropped to sit cross-legged nearby the group. It was difficult to tell whether Cere had just addressed her or the lantern, which was by now propped in her lap. She might?ve found this a pretty strange, had she not been the one used to talking to inanimate objects and taking them for walks. ?I don?t mind ? it might be fun.?

Tilting her head to the brightly coloured child waving her legs around after the wind, Vanille couldn?t avoid the smile that tweaked her lips. When she?d come to the city, she?d had no idea she?d meet so many peculiar individuals.

Cerena
"Aww, yoga time?" Cerena sulked, before shoving the lantern into Lena's hands and, gathering as many as she could that lay neatly in a straight line on the grass, stalked off to start the yoga session. Granted, it took a few more trips to gather them all up, and then hang them back from the usual spots in the rafters, and somewhere along the way she took the apple laying by Kiri's head and ate it, but she managed to get everything into place soon enough.

"Okay! We are a shooting star! We soar across the sky!" Standing on tiptoes, she stretched up towards the heavens and swayed from side to side. "And then we get scandalous pictures taken of us and photoshopped and published in newsletters and we fall down!" She did so, crumbling into another tangled heap that looked vaguely painful.

Koyuki Shirogane
Okay, bad idea.

Koyuki rushed out and slammed the sliding door shut behind her. At this rate, the door won't live to see 6 months.

"Are you okay, Cere--- oh! ... People! Uhm," Hide, or run? OR WHAT?

Lena simply stared at the lantern in her hands and smiled. She would save it...

"I have to leave ! I'll be back soon, see you." The young woman called and after one or two seconds without a response she hurried off with the lantern.

Phew...what an experience. She needed to call Anon now and feel guilty afterwards.

Kaekia
It wasn't often that Kiri slept, but it usually tended to be after times when she had overused her surplus sized energy. And when she had to sleep, the anima could sleep anywhere, at any time. And it was currently the time.

Kiri grumbled sleepily at Cerena as the girl ate the apple that was supposed to be Kiri's lifesaver, but soon after, she drifted off to dreamland. It was the only time that Kiri seemed relaxed and satisfied, a small smile forming on her face as she dreamed of the things she would do when she awoke.

Later, Lee would awake from her own nap and go in search of Kiri, but it would probably be quite a while.
