Toushin felt sorry already for the waitress and whoever had to bus this table; it would be a pigsty after they left: crayon shavings, bits of ham, and who knew what else littered about. When he spies the crocodile mimic Duras, he can't help but howl with laughter, slapping his forehead as he snickers in amusement.
"Looks like he's taking after Duras a little bit," he mutters with a giggle, eying down at the shark to make sure that he was doing as instructed and he was. He was demolishing that bowl of ham, even going so far as to lift it up, tilt his head back and open his jaws wide to dump it all over his face, most landing in his mouth, all of which he swallows whole.
"Christ, stop kid!" He sounds concerned, grabbing the bowl out of his hands. "You're going to choke!"

Kami had to laugh in turn at this whole mess. "Greaat I'll know who to blame when his terrible twos hit!" She smirked and saved her glass from the ham chunks daring to go more than over the rim. One reach under her child to help him sit up revealed a full happy belly and a buzzing weeze from the croc. He watched Duras with slight wonder as the shark tipped back the bowl and showed it what for! From the coaxing of the tummy rub, he let out a deep belch followed by an uncharacteristicly small hiccup.
"Oop, think he's full. Thank goodness." She snickered, catching the distainful glances of some of the other patrons. She picked up the child and held him eye to eye with herself.
"Ooh you widdle piggy!" She cooed getting a small giggle and a faint snap at her face. She came back one whisker shy and slightly frazzled. "I'ma never get used to that.."

"Yeah, but I wonder who I could blame." He rubs at the back of his head, grinning in amusement, nonetheless at the kid whose characteristic grumpy stare remains on his face, especially since he had planned to eat the bowl and had been denied.
All over Duras' face was bits and pieces of ham that had managed to avoid being swallowed, hanging mostly around his mouth, some dangling from the awful overbite he has. He angles his head in the crocodile's direction when hearing him belch and hiccup, and as if it was his turn to copy now, he lets out a deep bellowing belch of his own. He lifts up one arm and wipes at his face and then, with his thick tongue, starts to lick up the bits of meat left over on his arm.
"...I can't wait until he starts to understand hygenie," he mumbles in embarassment now, staring down at him.

"Oh yeah, that's going to go right under the firsts." She chuckled poking her tongue out slightly.
"Gruuu...~" Tiny eyebrow ridges go up as the croc looks back at Duras and giggles. His gesture was accepted! diplomacy had be made, or at least a success in grossing out the other patrons. Fishing her wallet out of the carry pouch of the stroller, Kami caught a passing server in request for their check. She looked to Toushin and and smiled all the while trying to keep curious little claws out of her wallet.
"Care to walk a bit? We can talk out in the fresh air. It's gettin' a little stuffy in here for me."

"No kidding. It's the first thing he's gonna learn." Though the chances of the shark picking up on habits of hygenie early on in life were slim to none. In fact, Toushin didn't expect it to happen, and that would mean he'd need to come up with some way to protect everything and make sure the boy didn't eat something that could potentially harm him.
Toushin grabs his own wallet, hanging by that chain and lifts it up, opening it up. "I'll pay for half."
He wasn't going to let her pay for it all when he had helped to cause the mess. So he pulls out a good number of bills, having simply played in his head how much the bill was going to be as well as some left overs for a tip. So he sets that down in front of Kami so she can add to it.
"A walk sounds great," he answers as he closes his wallet then goes about trying to clean up Duras, which is hard since the napkins rip easily across his skin and he protests with groaning sounds and flashing teeth that don't seem to intimidate his guardian too much.

Leaning in the count the half he paid she calculates her own and sorts out what she thinks is the correct ammount. When the check arrives she double checks and finds out they were actually pretty close: Hers was a slight over estimation but she adds that as her share of the tip. Getting the baby croc cleaned up was a little easier, the was greatful for that at the least. He didn't seem too fuss too much as she wiped his snout clean of drool. He did gurgle a hiss now and then and gape his jaws at her, but she just finished and set him in the stroller. She looked from the stroller to Duras and nodded.
"I think there's enough room if you want to put him in here for a bit. I doubt my lil guy will let me strap him down now that he's got a full belly and is wide awake." In retrospect, it -was- a bit large for the croc. He was pudgy but the trute was the thing near swallowed him. Maybe it was meant for him to grow into. Who knows the growth rate of lizards by memory?
As she got up, she remembered to get the crayons from the chair beside her and set them on the table. and pushed in her seat. "I have to admit a curiousity of what you think about this.. other world they're supposed to be from..granted, I am no Gaia-native myself but still.."

"Nah, it's okay. He likes to ride on my back. I dunno what's up with that..." And he helps the boy up, and if Kami had taken a good look, she would have seen that chances are that the shark might actually not fit with his hulking large size. He looked more like he ought to be attending kindergarten or first grade rather than a little baby with his gigantic size. It was amazing that Toushin could even carry him sometimes.
The shark does wrap his tail around Toushin's waist, a strange sight to see a shark with a prehensile tail like that but that's one thing that made Duras very interesting. "Maybe I'll get him to sit down in it later if he gets to become too much of a problem."
He starts to walk with her, out of the cafe, no doubt to the thankful patrons who now no longer had to stare at two hungry little meat eaters. He glances at Kami, rolling his broad shoulders. "I really don't know. Kinda weird s**t, y'know? But I've found myself thrown into a lot of strange predicaments before. I'm kind of used to it. Why? Are you bothered?"

Once he's lifted onto Toushin's back, she does take note of his size. Doesn't mean she wouldn't have offered all the same. She docks her ears backwards and follow's Toushin's lead toward the door outward.
"Alright."
Kami slips out the door of the cafe, pushing the stroller leisurely as she sighs a bit.
"Just kind of curious. It's like the second fostering I've kind of fallen into and I'm not sure what exactly is going on. Is it common for children to be passed along so?" She tried not to sound rude, but the fact remained that it was becoming a rather distressing pattern. The baby seemed that much unhappier to be out of the cafe quacking and thrashing in the stroller as he tugged at his yellow blanket and pulled it over his head. The air was cooler out here and wasn't food scented.

"Sometimes it is," he answers, sounding rather serious and quite suddenly at that. "Lots of kids get abandoned and many more Gaians are always looking to find them homes. It's a nice act to see, though it'd be nice to know how a lot of these kids are becoming parentless so quickly." As if he was voicing her own fears. He may act like a dolt but he was observant when he wanted and his expression was as serious as his voice, staring ahead of them with narrowed eyes, pondering it seems.
"I just try to help if I can," he adds as he feels Duras' tail tighten around him and the boy's arms cling around his neck. Despite the skin, it isn't hurting Toushin, thankfully, or he'd have quite the nasty bits of scars around his throat. He didn't much like the dry air himself but he wa sdealing with it.

Kami could only nod silently as they walked side by side. She did stop however to kneal down beside the stroller and fix the blanket on the child so he was more wrapped within it and not tangled.
"It just reminds me of things at home. Though, the difference being that there are good homes for these children here it seems. That is something to take comfort in." Getting the young fourthwaller settled down, she pet him gently along his head and went back to pushing the stroller.
She smirked in after thought and nudged Tou with her elbow lightly, "I have to admit it's no surprise your little one's a shark. It fits you both to be stuck together."

"That's good, and nothing more comforting than knowing you're helping, am I right?" His seriousness is still here now, not bothering to crack a joke about how he should be the last one to take care of a kid. He's responsible and he could be very responsible when it came down to it.
He blinks at the nudge and her comment that accompanies it. "Hey, what's that supposed to be?" His inquiry is truely innocent and full of honesty, wanting to know exactly what she means.
