Sanzo hit the floor with a thud. The sound of Cyndir crashing into the bookshelf shocked Sanzo to attention.

"Huh...What the...Oh...Cyn-kun. What are you doing here?"

Sanzo rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and focused in on the boy. He didn't know Cyn went to the pool, otherwise he might have joined him rather than seemingly ditching him for the new girl. When he relized that Cyn fell he snapped to his feet and offered assistance.

"Sorry if I did this Cyn, let me help you up. Somtimes I do weird things in my sleep. By the way, did you turn the light out?"

Sanzo extended his hand and gave Cyndir a smile.

Cyndir blinked a few times, trying to regain his senses, as one last book tipped off the shelf and clocked him one before falling to the floor at his side. He looked around, suddenly realizing how strange his predicament seemed right there. Lights out, coming in while Sanzo was asleep...He glanced down. UNDRESSED! He still only had his swimshorts and towel! What had he been thinking? His face turned bright crimson, and he was glad that the lights were off as he took Sanzo's hand and got to his feet.

"I uh...." he laughed nervously, and flicked his tongue-ring against his teeth. "It really isn't how this looks..."

He glanced at the door, wishing he had just gone back to his room, and waited until tomorrow to apologize. Wait, lights? He looked back at Sanzo. "Lights? It was dark when I came in. Maybe your bulb blew?"

But a glance at the lamp revealed the switch to be in the "off" position.

"Oh...that must have hurt. C'mon, on your feet." Sanzo heaved the boy to his feet and took a step back. "Well if you didn't turn it off, I wonder who did. Oh well, looks like I need it now."

Sanzo walked over to the lamp and flicked the switch. They both shielded their eyes as they adjusted to the bightness of the room. "Damn, ...didn't think forty watts was so damn bright."

He moved his hands from his face and stared at Cyndir. The boy standing there in just his swim trunks, still holding his hands over his eyes. His slender frame, the tattoo on his chest. It was only the second time he saw it, but never did he have such a full view. The towel lay across the pile of books. He looked down at Cyn's feet and saw he was missing a shoe.

"Uh...well I guess your shoe is somewhere in this mess over here. I'll help you find it."

Sanzo picked up books and started to place them back on the shelves. After a few books were away he saw the heel of Cyn's shoe jutting out from under his copy of "Loveless" manga. He pulled it out and held it high.

"Found it Cyn-kun, and I assume this is your towel." With the other hand he picked up the towel and offered them to the boy.

By the time Cyndir's eyes had adjusted to the sudden light, Sanzo had already found his flipflop. He slipped it on with another nervous laugh and shifted his weight as he draped the towel over his shoulder. He brushed the damp hair from his eyes, and fiddled with his tongue ring again. He stopped, and blinked. He thought he had kicked that habit! He scuffed his heel against the floor, having forgot his purpose in coming, but reluctant to leave, all of the sudden. He saw Sanzo putting the manga back on the shelf. He jumped on the topic. Anything to keep from having a long awkward silence or having to go back to his room.

"Loveless?" he said, tilting his head and leaning over Sanzo's shoulder to get a look at the title. "I don't believe I've read that one..."

"You've never heard of 'Loveless', awww...you gotta read this Cyn. I'ts about unbreakable bonds, and the fights and pains that come with it." Sanzo pulled the manga back from the shelf. "Here, why don't you take it, its a really good read."

Sanzo walked over to Cyndir and stopped inches away from the boy. He felt Cyn's hot breathe against his shirt again. For some odd reason he felt compelled to stand close to him. Was it because he was standing there, nearly naked in his room. Or was it the thought of the relationship between Soubi and Ritsuka, how strained it was for all the love that was there. Did it mirror the relationship between him and Cyndir?

"Take it, I think you'll really enjoy it."

Cyndir looked down at the book in his hands, then at Sanzo standing over him. He blushed at Sanzo's proximity and took a half-step back.

"A-arigatoo gozaim-masu, Sanzo-kun." he said, smiling. Nervous? You bet. Embarassed? Marginally. But for some reason, he wasn't so uncomfortable. Well...a little, as evidenced by his slight stammer, and the pinkish tint to his cheeks.

Suddenly, he remembered why he was there in the first place.

"Sanzo-kun, I just wanted to apologize for my behavior, earlier." he said, bowing. "I guess I just let Ren-kun get to me too much."

He didn't want to say what was really going through his mind. That being around Sanzo made him feel a way he thought he shouldn't. His blush deepened, and he averted Sanzo's eyes. He lingered in the doorway for a moment, running a hand absently through red-tinted locks.

"You know ah...I ah...um..." he stopped and took a breath. "You wanna watch a movie or something? There shouldn't be anyone in the TV lounge."

"Sure, don't mind if I do. Your company is always welcomed Cyn-kun. I was done with my work anyway. I think."

Sanzo placed the last book from the floor onto the shelf. "Let me change out of this uniform and I'll meet you there." He walked over to the dresser and pulled out a pair of green silk pajama pants, and an oversized white 'Midori Kaizen' tee shirt.

"I figure might as well be comfortable, these uniforms can be so itchy." Sanzo kicked off his shoes and began to unbutton his shirt. "You're more than welcomed to stay Cyn, otherwise I'll meet you in the lounge."

He slipped off the button down shirt and tossed it on his chair.

Cyndir glanced down at his current attire. He chuckled and looked up, grinning.

"I think I might want to change first, myself. These things are starting to chafe, and I'll probably be heading to bed, myself after this. Besides, if we're going to watch a movie, it might help if we had one to watch. I borrowed one from the library a few nights ago, an American animated film called The Lion King. Pretty good for a kids movie."

He turned out the door, his eyes inadverdently travelling along Sanzo's body as he removed his shirt. Releasing what he was doing, he blushed again, and turned away.

"Meet you there." he said in a rush, waving as he left, nearly tripping again in his haste.

=====> From Boys TV Lounge

Sanzo opened the door to his room carrying Cyndir like a small child. He walked in with him and laid the boy in his bed.

"Well, takes care of that. Now where am I sleeping tonight."

Sanzo walked over to the closet and retreived two blankets and an extra pillow. He stretched one of the blankets across the floor, tossed the pillow onto it, and stretched out the remaining blanket over both of them. Sanzo pulled back the blanket on the bed and covered Cyn up to the neck. He then pulled back the top blanket on his 'bed' and sat on the floor. He glanced at Cyndir, looking so peaceful while he slept.

"Good night Cyn-kun..." he kissed two fingers on his hand and touched Cyndirs lips, "sweet dreams."

Sanzo laid down and went to sleep, tomorrow was a new day.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 20, 2006 7:56 pm

Sanzo couldn't sleep. His book nap earlier had him wide awake. That and the fact that he was sleeping on the floor. He hadn't done that for years, not since he was in Konogawa Orphanage. He remembered sleeping in rows across a damp, cold hardwood floor. If those conditions didn't get to you, the mice that infested the building would.

"Dammit, ******** mice. I can't believe I'm thinking about this s**t. I wish I could forget it."

He glanced at Cyn, still curled up in the bed. His face had a pleasant expression on it. A lock of hair fell in front of Cyndirs eyes, Sanzo reached up and placed it behind Cyn's ear. He stroked his cheek as he removed his hands.

"Well, at least there's one good thing about this all. You're here Cyn. Hope you don't mind if I look at you all night." He paused as if waiting for a reply. "Why thank you, I'll be right here if you need me."

He laid back down folding his arms on his pillow and turneing his face directly toward Cyn. In the darkness, Sanzo barely blinked like Cyn would disappear on him.

Cyndir slept peacefully at first, sighing in contentment from time to time. His dreams started out pleasant, mostly fond memories. But slowly, they ventured into his coming to Midori. When he set fire to the gym-locker, and everything went haywire. He wasn't expecting it to burn so quickly. Not everyone got out in time. He still wasn't sure if the last boy had survived or not. He had been in critical condition when they came for him.

They...The Transporters. He hadn't known what was going on. He was sitting in his livingroom, watching TV, when his mom came in. His little sister clung to her arm, as three men came in behind her. Her face was pale, as Cyndir stood up. No sooner had he moved, then one of the men shot him in the shoulder with a dart. A cry of pain wrenched its way out of him. He felt the tranquilizer take effect almost immediately as he stumbled towards her. Little Niku began crying. He tripped over the leg of the coffee table, as a second dart lodged in his thigh, and fell to the floor.

Cyndir thrashed in his sleep, and mumbled something.

"Mom...I don't understand..."

His mother looked at him sadly.

"I'm sorry, Cyndir. It's for the best."

"Look at him, sleeping like a baby."

Just as Sanzo finished the sentence Cyndir's face changed. Was he having a bad dream? He began to roll around the bed in his sleep and began muttering. All Sanzo could make out was "Mom...I don't understand..." . He quickly stood up and tried to wake the boy.

"Cyn. Cyn-kun. Wake up. Wake up Cyn-kun, it's just a dream."

Sanzo began to shake the boy. He wanted to help but what could he do. The only thing that popped into his head was 'Hold him'. Sanzo wrapped his arms around the boy and held him tightly.

Sanzo whispered into Cyndir's ear, "It's okay Cyn-kun, I've got you, you're safe."

Cyndir fought against the arms around him at first, still lost in his dream.

"No...Let me go! I want to go home!" he cried, struggling. "I...I...I'm sorry..."

But slowly, he stop pushing at him, as he repeated apologies over and over. His hands gripped at Sanzo, and he shook his head against his chest. "I didn't mean..."

Suddenly, he snapped awake with a gasp. Everything was fuzzy. Where was he? What happened? The nightmare flooded his mind, and he couldn't quite comprehend where he was or how he got there. He looked around, to see Sanzo holding him tightly, but nothing was registering in his brain except a comforting prescence. Cyndir's heart hammered against his chest, his eyes wide and haunted in the darkness of the room, as he stared up at Sanzo. He still didn't relinquish his grip on the other boy's shirt, nor did he fight the arms around his body.

"I..." he whispered, still caught in the after-effect of the nightmare. "I didn't mean to do it...I never wanted to hurt anyone...Why..." he closed his eyes, trying to force away the images still running rampant in his sleep-fogged mind. He clung to Sanzo, trembling as tears formed in his eyes. "I want to go home..."

"It's okay, you're here Cyn-kun. I won't let them take you."

It was all Sanzo could say to help console the boy. He stroked Cyndirs hair while he clutched him to his chest. He was so close he could feel Cyn's heart thumping on his own chest. Although he felt bad for Cyn, being haunted by his nightmares. He actually felt a little guilty pleasure in comforting the boy. Holding him closely, Sanzo couldn't help wanting to kiss him.

"It's all gonna be okay." Sanzo kissed the boy on the forehead. "Everthing's going to be fine, just rest. It'll be okay Cyn-kun."

Cyndir trembled again, but his breathing slowly returned to normal. He still didn't let go of Sanzo, if anything, he held on tighter, pressing his cheek against the firm chest. He nodded slowly, the only response he seemed able to make at the moment. His hands slowly relaxed their grip, only to slowly slip down around Sanzo's waist. He wasn't sure what he was thinking, or if he was thinking at all. He simply knew that at the moment, being there, with Sanzo's arms around him made him feel safer than he had in a long time, here in Midori.

"Sanzo...I..." he whispered. Leaning against the taller boy's chest, he could hear Sanzo's heart in a steady, soothing rythm. "I...." he didn't know what to say. He looked up, staring into Sanzo's hazel eyes. His brain was foggy, nothing made sense.
