"Oh most definitely," Israel smiled. She paused for a moment and thought about her next question. She didn't want to pry, but she kind of felt like she wanted to really get to know Saki.
"Was... that how it was for you?" she asked, certain she didn't make any sense. She finished her cocoa and set the empty mug on the table next to Saki's. "For your first time, I mean," she said tucking her legs underneath her and leaning against the back of the sofa.

Saki nodded and wrinkled her nose. "Yeah. I didn't even really like the guy. Was never really interested in them much as a species. Not like my friends were." She shrugged. "I went a bit crazy after my dad died a year ago. Hanging out with the wrong people blah blah blah." She laughed rolling her eyes. "My friends said I should go out with him so I did. I let him do stuff because that's what they did." She gave a bitter smirk. "This is Japan after all. You have to follow the crowd do what's expected. Sooo one evening last year, we were at a beach party...I got a bit too drunk and, well. You know the rest. Can't even really remember it." She said a bit too nonchalently. She sighed. Is would probably think she was a total slut.
"I don't want to put you off though things will be totally different for you. Sora sounds like a totally lovely guy and you two have chemistry. Me and this guy...Ryosuke. We had nothing." She shook her head again. "Sorry to dump all that on you. You probably think I'm terrible."

Israel listened as Saki revealed some of her past to her. It wasn't the part about losing her virginity that caught her attention though. People made mistakes, especially when they were grieving. That was the part that had hit home with her. A sudden wave of sadness washed through her, her day with Sora temporarily pushed aside. She gave Saki a small warm smile. "You didn't dump anything on me, and why would I think you were terrible? I asked because I wanted to know," she said softly. She looked down at the hem of her jeans and started to fiddle with a loose thread that was sticking out.
"You lost your dad?" she asked quietly. The pain of losing her own father was still a tender spot for her.

Saki watched Israel fiddle with the hem on her jeans. She hadn't meant to put a downer on the conversation. "Yeah." Saki said quieter. She could talk about it now, but obviously it still hurt deep down. "He had a heart attack." She said simply rubbing her leg absently.

"I lost my father too," Israel said at a near whisper. That was the first time she had ever actually said it aloud to someone. "He was killed in a car accident. He and I were very close." She looked up at Saki. She was sure the look on her face mirrored her own. It seemed kind of odd that fate would put two girls with similar personalities and similar tragedies together. Slowly smiling, she reached out and picked up their mugs. "Would you like some more hot cocoa?" she asked, rising to her feet.

"Mmm, thanks." Saki said watching Is take their mugs.
"Wow. I'm sorry." She said sitting cross legged. "Heh maybe now we know why we're roommates." She said with a small laugh. Never one to linger on sad moments. "I wasn't very close to my father. He was busy all the time." She sighed a bit. "But he was a great person. Very caring, always believed in people. My brother is a poor replacement." She added wrinkling her nose a bit.

Israel spooned the cocoa mix into the mugs her mind whirling around. She felt funny having had her emotions slammed from end of the spectrum to the other. She laughed lightly at Saki's comment about why they were roommates since the exact same thought had just crossed her mind.
"Don't be sorry. It was fate. It was meant to be," she said softly. Or at least that was the belief she had clung to when she had managed to climb out of her grief. "My step father is a poor replacement too," she said blindly pouring the water into the mugs. That was her intention at least. She suddenly felt something warm and wet falling on her bare feet.
"s**t!" she exclaimed as she realized that she was completely missing the mugs and pouring water all over the counter. She quickly set the kettle down. She quickly picked up a towel that was lying on the counter and started to mop up the mess she had made.

Saki mused over the thought of fate. She loved to read old books, one of her favourites being the stories of ancient Greece. "The tapestry of fate." She said out loud. "Of which our lives are merely a strand. It's a funny belief don't you think? That everything is planned out for us. What has happened was meant to be as is what will happen. Seems kinda defeatist to me."
At Israels exclaimation she jumped up and ran over to her. "Are you o.k?" She cried, seeing the water drip off the counter and onto Is's feet. "Did you burn yourself?"

Israel dropped the towel as the top of her feet began to sting mercilessly and bent down to inspect them. Immediately wishing she hadn't dropped the towel. She needed to wipe the water off of her feet. With a great big sigh she gently rolled back on her heels to land on her bottom. She tucked her feet up closer to her body, while she wiped the water off with her cardigan sleeve.
"Yeah... that kinda hurt a lot," she muttered shaking her head at her clumsiness. It was her curse. She inspected her feet as she dried them. They were already turning a bright red. "I'm sorry Saki," she said, glancing up at the huge mess she had created. In her shock at feeling the pain on her feet she must have knocked one of the mugs over. A brown drippy mess was all over the counter, cabinets, and floor. "s**t," she said again looking back down at her feet. They were beginning to hurt a lot.

"Daijoubu?" Saki cried also dropping down to the floor. She was terrible at this kind of thing despite watching her mother patch up small wounds all the time."Uh, I mean are you O.K."
Not thinking about personal space boundries Saki took Is's foot gently in her hand and looked at it. "Oooh...ittaiiii so." She said looking at the reddening mark. "Do you know what to do with water burns?" Saki looked from Is's foot, back up to her face. "Do you think we should go and see someone, a teacher or something?"

A sharp intake of breath through her teeth was Israel's answer to Saki's first question and inspection. "I'm okay. It just stings really bad," she said peering down with Saki. Silently she cursed her clumsiness. At Saki's suggestion she looked back up to meet her eyes.
"Uh... the teachers are on the fourth floor. That's two flights of stairs," she grimaced at that prospect. She looked back down and gingerly ran her finger along the side of the burn. Suddenly a discussion she had had with Ra popped into her head. Well... he had said he wanted to be a doctor. He'd probably know what to do.
"Let's go down to Rashne's dorm. He's right downstairs below us. I think I can manage going downstairs better than up. He might know what to do," she shrugged. Anything to make it stop stinging.

Saki looked up...Rashne? Faces of people she had met slid around her mind settleing on the tall dark haired boy whom she had mistaken as Sora's boyfriend. "Ahh..I know." She nodded, though wasn't entirely sure he might know what he was doing. "Let me help you."
With that she moved to Is's side and slipped her arm round her waist. "Ready?"

"As I'll ever be," Israel replied smiling briefly, then prepared to launch herself up to her feet with Saki's help. Draping her arm around Saki's shoulder she leaned heavily on her and together they rose to their feet.
With much hobbling and attempting her best to not complain about the pain, Israel and Saki made their way down the stairs and down the hall to Ra's door. She hoped he wasn't already asleep. She just suddenly remembered what time it was. Using her free hand, Is reached out and knocked sharply on Ra's door.

As luck would have it Ra was not asleep. The curse of an insomniac, even when he could sleep his internal clock was mixed up. All ready for bed in navy pj bottoms and a faded concert t-shirt he went into the kitchen to begin his evening ritual. Herbal tea, to make him sleepy, followed by a couple of hours of trashy TV or a mindless movie.
Yawning and running his fingers though his somewhat messy hair he was pretty supprised by the knock at the door. He poured the hot water into his mug and went to investigate.
Pulling open the door he was thoroughly suprised to see Israel being supported by the trashy looking girl from the cafe. What was her name? "Uh hi guys." He said, blinking. "Is everything o.k?"

"I'm so sorry Ra. I know it's late, but uh... I kinda have a health issue that maybe you could help me with," Israel said biting her lower lip and taking in his attire. Okay... so that wasn't probably the best way to put that. She quickly rushed to explain.
"I was pouring some hot water for our cocoa and got distracted. I kinda missed the mugs," she said glancing down at her red feet and pointing with her free hand. "Do you know what to do with burns?" She felt like such and idiot. She was sure she was going to die from embarassment. Still leaning on Saki, she turned her head to look at her and give her a small smile more for her own reassurment than anything else.
