Most of my experiences with christians who aren't my friends have been really crappy. I always get harassed, being told 'You're going to ******** burn in hell, whether you like it or not!' and 'You've sinned against god! You shall burn to a crisp in hell!' and all that. My response: 'So ******** don't believe in god whatsoever, and when I tell those bastards that say that, they just say 'You're indenial. You just don't want to think about going to hell, freak' or 'What, do you believe in a religion called "lesbianism" and go lick out girls or something, then?' (seriously. the sickest and most stupidest thing I have ever heard in my 14 years of living...if you can call it living. I'm still not sure whether I exist or not.) because obviously, being gay is a sin to god...apparently. Even though you get gay priests, but even then? Pah.
Never believed in the old sod.
I apologize to anyone who was offended with me saying so, but really, I just don't see god. But I'm not anti-christian. Of course, those people are obviously stupid little gets that have don't have lives and they think that being gay is a crime (and one of these boys that calls himself christian has repeatedly told me that if he was in charge of the country, he'd have every homosexual slaughtered that lives. Sick b*****d.), but I have other christian friends that are obviously more mature if I consider them friends. They even think it's stupid. One of them is bisexual and he has a boyfriend, the other is best friends with a gay guy, so yeah.
And, that's my little ranting rampage done for today.
p.s. Yeah, there's not many gay people in my school, so I'm rare. Touch me. xD
p.p.s. I'm part buddhist.

i'll keep it simple.
i was raised christian, and as such i got a good long look at the bible. as is i would say that christianity is full of inconsistencies, as is the religious test the foolish christians so value.
as such, i cannot consider myself a christian, and am in fact closer to general pagan than anything else. i am currently in the process of researching the different religions out there.
i consider christianity to be the basis of much of what is wrong in today's society and so-called modern world, and find its history to be inexcusable. it is a religion full of hypocrisy and illogical thinking, and actually quite pointless.

they treat me like crap, and said i was possed and influensed by the devil, and a nun glared at me before saying that i was lost and throwing holly water at me, so the next day i wore a shirt that had to do with burning churches on it... she hated me from then on... twisted ... oh, and this christian kid told me to go back to the hell hole i crawled out from... and he called me the spawn of satan...

i was raised with christian folks, and i've been a christian for three years now. i've never had a problem with other peoples religions or race or sexuality and what not... i believe everyone can believe what they want, though whether i believe that it's the right thing to do is another matter... and of course i'd love for them to change their ways and follow jesus, but i'm not gonna force it down someone's throat or look down on them for not believing what i believe.
i would never preach to someone if they didn't want me to, i might slip in the occasional god stuff, but that's because i believe in it. basically all the christians i know are good people, there's only like one or two who are a little crazy when it comes to other beliefs, but that's because they want to convert everybody sweatdrop
people think it's strange when i tell them i'm a christian, because i'm also a goth and like dressing differently. it's funny, most people think christians are a bunch of jerks who preach that everyone's going to hell, and that goths are a bunch of satan worshipping, hell-bound, vampire wannabees. even one of my best friends refuses to change her concept that if you're an 'actual' goth, then you worship satan - and yet here i am, a christian goth.
i think it would be a much better world if everyone just let go of there prejudice and tried not to shove their own beliefs down others' throats, that's why i didn't become a christian until 3 years ago. i just didn't get the whole thing.

Good for you. Breaking stereotypes is fun to do, ne? I'm like that as well. People think are surprised the first time I tell them I'm a Christian too because of the way I look.
But I need to address a lot of those in this thread who have hostilities toward us Christians. I find it extremely hard to believe that you've come in contact with so many Christians that make your life a living hell and continuously throw statements at you like "you're going to <********> burn in hell" If you have any common sense you would realise that even if they call themselves a Christian, they aren't. True Christians or those who are truly trying their best to follow Christ, do their best to avoid using profanities - i can't say they don't because people slip up, everyone makes mistakes; yes, even Christians - and they are smart enough also to know that they won't win anyone over by telling them they are going to hell. If you have been unfortunate enough to come across this many so-called Christians who behave this way, then I'm sorry that they are stupid. Someone really needs to sit them down and explain to them that they aren't doing anyone any favours with their behaviour. But again, I'll say that I find it hard to believe in the first place, and I have to say that I'm catching a whiff of a large amount of generalities being thrown around about Christians. Those of you who are offended I can tell you are just as immature. A truly mature person will take a step back when wronged, and instead of getting upset or retaliating, they will look at the situation from an outside angle and try to see why the person who wronged them did so, try to see it from their side, decide if it's worth a potential debate, and if not just let it roll of their shoulder.

first of all, before i start with my opinions on christianity, i want to say that i respect what other people beleive completely. if there is anything at all that i truly think, its that anybody should be able to believe anything they want to. i hold no grudges period, let alone me holding a grudge based on religion. my views are an opinion formulated by christian fundamental values, not based on actual christians. i am atheist, but i have NO problems with people being christian. in fact i am very close to many of my freinds who are christian.
now i shall begin. Christianity, to me, has plagued this country very badly in my eyes. It has expressed its bigotism that its values are more important than everyone elses, and has shoved this down their throats. In examples such as the fact that the United States constitution is based largely on bible teachings to the fact that "In god we trust" is printed on money. Christianity has inflicted its 'values' onto us weither we like it or not. And most of us may not have even noticed it. I will now go on with specific examples
Christianity makes people judgemental. In the eyes of a devout christian, people have to live a 'moral' lifestyle in order to get into heaven. this has caused people who believe they are living a devout lifestyle to become bigots and judge others based on their so-called 'flaw's. This very same essense has caused humanity, in general, to have some of the most ridiculous hangups. Shame, vendetta, and respect (ill get to respect later, and why that is bad) are all things that are rooted to christian values. Shame dictates the feeling of guilt over such things as simple as sexual desire and conflict. These are everyday actividies that have no reason as to why they would present any harm. Wildlife participates in these actividies multiple times each day. But we, as people, feel the need to settle it down simply because of this christian belief in morals.
This lands to my next issue. Christianity expects a defination of right and wrong. It gives us these strict laws as to what we're suposed to do in order to be a 'good person'. and even if we're not christian, these laws have infiltrated our government and forced us to obey them anyway. The ten commandments to almost everyone, christian(/jewish) or not, seems to be a righteous moral system. This is proof that christianity has infected us with a nasty disease. The ten commandments are seen in almost every governmental system. This is an abuse on secularism and oppression to those who disagree with the ten commandments and don't assume they are that damn righteous. "Respect thy mother and thy father" is one commandment that is heavily flawed. Some children have parents that are abusive and in some cases even dangerously psychotic, there is a point in which respect doesn't cut it. The child NEVER asked anyone to be born, and in some cases, would rather be dead than go through the s**t in their lifetime that they have to. Why should they respect someone simply because they felt like having an orgasm? I, in fact, have a problem with all 10 commandments, this one was just an example because i dont have time to explain every single one. Basically, to sum it up, every one of the ten commandments is seen everyday in nature, something that we as people, have limited ourselves from due to 'shame' and our nonsensical crusade for a 'moral' lifestyle and the contentment that comes from living a so-called moral lifestyle. As for respect, this is just submitting before someone's impossible ego. People assume that because someone is older and suposedly wiser that they are right. This is not nessisarily true, look at George W. Bush. he's like in is early 60s (i think) and he's a ******** retard. People that are older are usually more close-minded in that they dont want to change a thought-process or lifestyle after followin suit withinthe one they have for so long. Older people usually THINK they are right more often, and can be more arrogent, but arrogence doesn't justify correctness.
this brings me to my next point. The bible. christians take this as being way too sacred. Even if there ever was a god, and he actually cares enough to enslave his creations by writing a book telling everyone how to live, it sure as hell is NOT the book we all know as the bible. The bible has gone through so many translations, re-translations, cross-translations, and re-crosstranslation that it is as close to being the original word of god as I am to being the next pope. Here's my example. Take a simple sentence in english, say "Hello, nice to meet you" translates to spanish as "Hola, encantado tu." but because no translation is ever perfect, you translate that back to english and it goes "Hello, i am enchanted to see you". translate that back to spanish, and the editations of translation would make it "Hola, yo encantado mirar tu". this goes on for an infinity, the sentence losing meaning with each and every time. Now imagine other languages being thrown into the mix, and how some words in other languages look the same but mean completely different. and how people might assume a word was meant under their language. After all that, the sentence could mean "I want to kill you" instead of "Hello, nice to meet you" after only 78 translations, mixing Italian with 4 of the translations and French with 3 of them. imagine this process being done about 4000-5000 times or even up to tenfold that amount of times. The context of an entire book could be radically changed.
im sorry, i could go off on several more tangents as to flaws of christianity, but no one's going to read what i have written so far let alone reading more. i have written an 24-page report on the flaws and what i have against the laws of christianity, i dont think its important to include all of that in one simple internets post though.

It's just another religion to me. There are tons of people who take saying from the bible, and twists them into new meanings, and alot of people use it as an excuse for ignorance. This is odd, considering that one of the reasons Christianity became populare with the Romans (If you know your history, you would know alot of Romans became Christian, and Christianity became the main religion of Rome at one point) is because of the feeling of equality, but now people are using bible verses to put down people different from them.
But overall, it's not that bad. I mean, not all Christians are like that. My parents where both born in Christian families, but just didn't follow the faith, yet I still celebrate the holidays dispite being Wiccan. Besides, most Christian holidays where stolen from pagan holidays. Take Christmas, for example. Jesus was origionaly said to be born in August, I think it was (maybe July). It was changed to December to take the concept of Yule. Take the religion out of the holiday, and it's just about presents and family.
Basicly, I don't care what faith you are, as long as your a good person.

mortsanglant No one knows when Jesus was born. That was the origional theory. His birthday was origionaly going to celebrated during summer. That's why in some countries that are Christian, they won't celebrate Christmas because it wasn't mentioned in the bible.

Some fo the commandments are acctualy more like laws, like "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not steal". Some where laws back in their time like "Thou shalt not commit adultery", expecialy strict for one's wife, who shoudl be loyal. The way I see it, good and bad work out like this, in my....Not ten commandments, really, for they aren't rules...: 1) There is good and bad in every human being, in a struggle that will never truely be resolved, though some may turn more towards evil or good. Thus, no one is entirely good, and almost everyone has sinned once, maybe without even meaning to. 2) No one knows what any greater power really wants because no one has been recorded, other than the bible (of which has been changed so much, and of which people misinturprit (sp?) all the time), has ever met with a god or god-like deity. All these people going on and on about "God hates gays!" and such shoudl shut up, and should realize that you can't speak on behalf of a person you've never met. Basicly, what I'm saying is if you wanna be good, look deep inside yourself, listen to your concience, not some rules made thousands of years ago by a bunch of people you never met. You never know if they could be wrong, or if the words put in this book, where changed so often that your acctualy going against what it is supposed to say. 3) Some urges are natural, and are not evil. Some are caused by hormones, others by pure need to survive. It's not wrong to be horny every once in a while when your a teenager and you have no control of your hormones. It's how you deal with these urges. I think it's stupid that according to the Christian religion you can't have sex till marrige, and you can't mastribate. 4) Love is love, and is not evil, unless it isn't acctulay love, and your being used, or beaten, or something like that. Race, sex, and the such do not matter. 5) Eating animals is not bad. Animals eat other animals, and we are part of the animal kingdom. It's all survial. 6) If it's ok for people to go to war, and kill otehr human beings because goverments can't come to a simple agreement and there's this whole right couseness thing involved, then it's ok to get an abortion. Fetuses are not yet people, and even if they are, the same people opposed to abortion are pro-war, like Bush, who's sending these young men and women over seas to kill other human beings adn die. Stop being hypocritical. 7) Stop with all the hate-crimes and predjuduce. Predjuduce=evil. Tolerence=good. I and don't mean just raceism and such, I'm also talking about predjuduce towards gays. Now, I'm bi, so this is a big deal to me. We are all human beings, no matter what color you skin is, what your racial background is, your sexual preference, or whatever. Your a human being. cool Parents and elders are not always right, and it's lodged into these jackasses brais that their right all the time. I have a sister who is two years older than me and treats me like I'm stupid and she's smart, when I'm acctualy smarter than her. 9) It's not what a person is, who they are attracted to, or where they come from that makes them good or evil. It depends on wheather they do good or evil things. Hitler, obviously, evil. He killed tons of people, and he thought he was good. That middle eastern kid in your math class, not neccisarily evil. That gay kid, not neccisarily evil. 10) Listen to common sence, for it is most likely right. You know klilling is bad. You know stealing is bad. It's not complicated. Stop memorizing these bible verses and going to these religiouse sermons, because chances are, they are just going to tell you why you are going to hell. Thank you.

I find it odd people say, "Not all people who consider themselves Christians really are Christians." To me, a person is what (s)he considers him/herself. If they call themselves Christians, and do not violate any of the Christian tenets, how are they not Christian?
