Pagao traced the little one's gaze to the zebra. And after a moment he nodded his agreement. "What I want you to do.." He thought a moment, he didn't want to give the other such a dangerous job. "Is head that way." He indicated the back of the herd with his chin. It was up-wind and the zebra would be able to hear him. "And then run at them, making as much noise as you can. Sometime the element of surprise is better than being quiet.." He grinned, watching Yakuti.
"I will be in the opposite direction, waiting to spring." And with that he headed off, low to the ground. He would have to stay hidden until the last possible minute, if the zebra saw him and fled backward then Yakuti could be crushed!

Breathing heavily, Yakuti creeped along to the back of the herd, staying as low as he could to avoid being spotted. after several long minutes of crawling, he arrived behind the herd of zebras, he plucked up all his courage and ran straight at them, barking loudly and stomping and jumping loudly. The zebras ran in a flurry of black and white in the other direction, Yakuti followed, still barking madly, now more out of exitement than because he was told to.
((Sorry it took so long, I had to go have lunch))

Pagao had to keep an eye on the whelp and on the heard, but he was almost stunned when he saw Yakuri start to follow them! What if they turned around? He groaned to himself and continued to stalk along, they were getting closer and closer.
In a flash he lept out, spotting his target. He had to dodge a few legs, surely one of those to his skull would have him dead! He snarled and snapped at the zerba, they fled around him and over him, some turning. Mass confusion was ensuing. Pagao yelped slightly and stumbled to the side, a zebra had just graze his side with it's hood.
There! His target. He jumped and slammed into the baby zebra, snapping at it.

Seeing Pagao nearly get trampled put a the old fear back into Yakuti, he didn't want Pagao to get hurt hunting, but he knew that Pagao was much more skilled in these things. It confused him, but eventually he decided to approach the area that Pagao was in slowly and then turn back if it got too dangerous or he was ordered to leave, if Pagao was going to be hurt, he wanted to be there to chase the zebras off so he could help. He couldn't run away, if he did Pagao could die the way his mother had.

Pagao groaned and his teeth crushed down on the Zebra's neck, warm blood oozing into his mouth. Both had crashed to the ground, and the herd around them was thinning. Most had run off, luckily.
He released the death-drip, panting and staying hunched over his kill.

Breathing heavily, Yakuti drew nearer and saw that the zebra Pagao had been attacking now lay still. he approached rather more quickly than before, smelling the fresh kill and eager to talk with Pagao again about the hunt. He wanted to know how he killed the zebra so quickly and how he could learn how. His hunger was only secondary compared to his curiosity.

Pagao moved off, still panting, but now he looked around for Yukati. When he spotted the little blue guy he became less tense. "Good, you're alright!" He breathed out.

"Of course I am!" Yakuti responded, his confadence returning "I just wanted to be sure that you were alright" he added as he drew closer to the kill "how did you do that?" he asked, looking at the dead zebra.

Pagao chuckled slightly. "Ah, is that so? Thanks." He smirked a little, sitting back and watching the little guy a moment. "Simple, just have to hit the right spot in the beast's neck." He said slowly, watching him. "If you're hungry you better start eating, fresh kills attract the most obnoxious animals." He grinned at this, seeing as thats how he found most of his food.

"wow..." Yakuti said softly, examining the young zebras neck for a minute before beginning to eat. "Mmmmmmm!" Said Yakuti as he tore off some of the leg and began eating it, "This is better than the stuff I usually get... Fresh is deffinately better" he decided as hunger got the better of him.

Pagao laughed. "Certainly, did you think half-rotted meat would taste better than a fresh kill?" He layed down, eyes flashing about to make sure the kid could eat in peace. He would have his share when Yakuti was finished, he could wait.

"Well, I wouldn't know, I told you, I'm not a good hunter so I've been eating only rotting meat for as long as I can remember." Yakuti explained between mouthfulls, "Aren't you going to have some?" he asked as his hunger subsided and he started to chew on the zebras leg bone. He had always liked chewing bones, even though he had only eaten carrion before this, there were still bones inside.

He snorted. "Course Im going to eat some." He dragged himself forward and tore away som of the skin of the zebra's side, gulping down some flesh. "Sos' this is a goo' trea' then, 'ight?" He asked, not bothering to wait until he was done chewing.

"Yes, very good!" Yakuti laughed "I've never had a better meal" He paused akwardly "come to think of it, I can't even remember having a meal with company before either..." Being so young, Yakuti barely remembered anything from before he was left all alone. His only memory of another hyena was when he heard his mother screaming for him to get out of here as a herd of zebras ran in every direction.

Pagao winced slightly. "Tha' long, eh?" He pulled away from the carcuss, licking at his chops. He watched Yakuti carefully. "Well if yeh stick around I'm sure you could get a few more fresh meals." He stated, slightly awkward about it. Poor thing didn't have a family, basically. At least Pagao had a family for... a little while.
