We arn't aloud to have a voice in thechurch due to that damn gag bill (and so many say its not agianst the freedom of speech rolleyes any thing that gags any ones right to speak freely about anythign is an infringment of the freedom of speech)

So, when we get the chance to speak out of the church, we put our all into it. We are currently tryign to get the gag bill removed.

In the 70s, a man runign for office (I forget the whole story, I'll get it from my principle monday) was being bombarded byt he churches. The churches were having the strongest effect out of all those that were castign his name in guilt. The man wasn't th emost honost person and was involved, or had been involved in almost every scandal of the time.

So, he introduced a bill that basicly limited what some one could and could not say during an election. They way it was worded affectedly ended the churches voice in politicle matters. You could no longer preech for or against some one runing for office behind the pulpit or in a church due to the bill.

The liberals are doign it again. They're tryign to push what is called the Fairness Doctrin into the house. Thi sbill basicly limits what you can and can't say on radio and TV. The man they are attackgin is Howard Stern, but the bill won't just affect him, it'll affect every one. If the liberals are trully for the people, why are they trying so hard to limit their voice?

rolleyes so basically the church can't endorse a candidate? That sounds pretty stupid since everyone else in the world can.

That how America works now. Free speech for some
none for others

I love how people take freedom of relgion to mean freedom FROM religion. The laws are there to protect the church from the state not visa versa.

I.E. They're there so the nation can't start attacking people based on their religion.

They aren't there to make it so people can't pray or preach anywhere but in a church, and certainly not there to make sure a church can't stop someone they see as a detriment to our country from getting elected.

It means the state can not do liek europe did and make a government sanctioned riligion that eveyr one must follow.

Much like Washington's quote at the peace of tripoli is tacking out of context or only the first sentenc eis quoted.

Washington
As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion as it has in itself no character of enmity [hatred] against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen [Muslims] and as the said States [America] have never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

Essentialy, the libs quote him as saying "The government of the United States is in no sense founded on the Christian religion" and then don't finish the quote.

What washington wa sin efect saying was that the United States government was not founde odn the same christianiyt the Muslims foudn in Europe, IE, oppresive to other riligions and not state sanctioned.

Yes, like it or not, our forefathers were for the most part very much Christian. Our country was founded during an explosion of Christianity and to ignore that fact is to ignore history.

Should we force everyone in our country to be Christian? Of course not. But it's foolish to pretend that the founding fathers did not base their ideals about our nation on at least some Christian principles.

Interestingly enough, we would have to completely destroy half of the monuments in DC to remove all of the Christian writings. There are scriptures in the foundations of buildings and all around.

They burried a Bible in the foundation of the capital building. They woudl have to rip the very foundation of our capital building apart to get to it.

The burried pages of scirptures in with the stones of the washigton monument as well.

DOubtful. If they did they would have to admit our ancestors and forefathers were indeed so christian that they were willing to put scripture in with the dedications to great men. Thats something they've been tryign to deny since they were formed and before then.

damn... they can't tell people what to say- i don 't like censorship as it is, not allowing certain words because sombody has a qualm with nature. i notice the two most vital actions for almost all biological entities, ******** and shitting, are obscene. you may even flinch reading the words there. but honestly, it is part of nature and part of reality. bleeping it out won't make it less neccesary, vital or real.

they're sounding more and more like nazis or totalitarianists, only allowing certain images on the screen, focus our minds on their agendas and profits.

Thats exactly what most liberals are, Devine, taltalatarinist. Think about it. They clame ot be for the people, and yet they want a bigger government that has more contorle over things (such as medicine), they want all riligion out of the picture, they atempt to undermine the real people in power, and they want to disarm the populace and censore what we can and can't hear and hat we can and can't say. That sounds preetty taltalitarion to me.
