Cerceris is momentarily startled at the disappearance of RA and the sudden onset of the mechanical hands, but the creature's voice reassures her and she relaxes. The glint of the light off of the needle catches her eye, and she feels a momentary curiosity. She has never seen one of these things before. While she tilts her head and inspects it, it jabs into a vein in the crook of her elbow. Cerceris's brow furrows slightly. The minor pain doesn't bother her particularly, but the accompanying sensation is odd. She can feel the liquid being pushed into her vein. It stings, but then it tingles through her arm and back around to her heart, and then it gets tingly all over.
Roommate...? She struggles to get the word past her lips, but only gets as far as the R sound. Her pulse is naturally fast, much faster than a human's, and the anesthetic is taking hold quickly. For a moment, it seems like she has been sitting there with the mechanical arm withdrawing the needle from her arm for hours. She regrets not having spent these hours inquiring about her roommate more fully.
Six eyelids close, eight limbs relax, and the aanida's breathing becomes soft and regular. The messenger bag finally slips from her grasp and lands on the floor with a soft thump. A pocketwatch rolls a short distance across the floor before meeting the end of its chain and falling flat.

[ Alvira's pov ] Intro with Luke Alvira tapped her foot, her boots making a dull tap on the pavement outside the gate. She stood as she always did, tall and regal and condescending. Her hair was done up in a bun, and she was in a long dress that was high cut. She was waiting for yet another child that would be taught in the academy, with the id 004. She had only been given a headshot of him, and so was waiting for him to arrive from the bus he would arrive on.
She tapped her foot again, and waited.

Luke stood as the bus stopped, making his way to the doors and jumping down to the ground. He raised a hand to shield his eyes from the sun, looking off at the gates. There appeared to be someone waiting for him, a woman by the looks of it, not that he cared. He made his way torwards the gate, glancing down at the at plush as if to make sure it was still there. As Luke neared the woman he stopped, a foot or two away, and just stood there.

Alvira nodded as the bus came up. Good, it was actually vaguely on schedule. She waited for the boy to reach her, before speaking.
"I presume you are..." She looks down at her file again, reading over her wire rim glasses, "Haneko, Luke?" She looked at the boy in red who was holding a dusty black cat plush. "Where ever is your luggage, child?" she asked severely, lips pursing in impatience. She assumed that it was on the bus, and she motioned at the bus driver, signalling that he shouldn't move. "Come. Let us fetch it." She said, already moving towards the large gray vehicle.

Luke quirked a brow at the question."Who else would I be?"He shot a glance down at the cat plush, giving it a sort of half smile as if they had some inside joke.As the woman askd abou tthe luggage he shrugged."I guess."He answered, turning as she started torwards the bus.He let out a slight sigh, not wanting to go back to the bus, but followed anyways.

Alvira pursed her lips further. Children these days. "I heard that," was her only reply to his heavy sigh. She spoke a few low words with the driver, who climbed out looking rather nervous and pulled out his bags.
"Good, good." She took a larger one and, with alarming strength from such a frail looking woman, hoisted it up easily. Alvira pointed at the two smaller bags remaining and told Luke to get them, and started her walk before he could reply. When Alvira was back at the gates, she let her feed make direct contact with the door's verification system, her ID easily unlocking the gates. They slid open silently, and she waited just inside them for Luke. "First order of business," she recited, as if they were lines from a play, "Is to get your Feed inside you."

Luke's brow furrowed as the woman told him to get the two smaller bags.He let out a soft growl and set the cat plush atop his head before grabbing a bag in each hand. The woman was already inside the gates when he turned around. As he made his way torwards her he looked up at the plush atop his head."Strong and fast for an old lady."He whispered to the cat, sniggering afterwards. When the woman spoke of a Feed he blinked, slowing his pace as he passed through the gates."Huh?"

"Why I may be strong and fast, you are obviously my counterpart. Young, weak, and slow," Alvira replied, airily.
She looked down at him, a thin eyebrow arching high. "Your Feed, child. Come." she snaps her fingers, and two hands materialize, and take the luggage. "We will walk and talk." She points at the large main doors, and looks at the husky boy and his cat. "We will be going in there, and then to the right, which is where you'll get your feed." She starts walking again, slower this time, wanting the child to be able to keep up easily. And as she walked, she spoke.
"A feed is a microchip in your brain. You are identified by it, teachers teach you with it, you eat and breathe and learn with it. It helps you discover things you never thought possible. You will learn to depend on it, and it will depend on you to keep it from stagnating. You will have the world at your fingertips because of a chip in your brain."

Luke snorted at the reply, mumbling under his breath at the comment. He jumped a bit when the hands appeared and took the luggage. He eyed them for a moment before looking back at the woman, following behind her.As she told him where they were headed to and explained the feed he looked over the grounds of the school. It looked quit large outside, so he wondered just how big the place was. When Alvira finished speaking he looked back forward, mulling over the things she had said."A chip..in my brain."He wondered how one got a chip in their head, imagining someone slicing the back if his head open and hammering a small metal square into his skull. His ears twitched at the thought and he looked up at the act."Sounds painful, eh?"

"Yes. A chip in your head, though I suppose it's technically right below it. She points to the nape of her neck. "This is where mine is, and where all Feeds here go."
She looked down at him and grinned wickedly, as she let her verification leap to the code pad on the main doors, and they opened ominously slow behind her. "Very painful," she said, and had her feed open the door to Aerin's office.
"In here. Aerin, our nurse, and RA, our AI, will assist you with it." She paused a moment, remembering.
"Right. By the by, your code to punch in will be zero-zero-four. You use this to get into your dorm," she points to a large door on the right in the corner of the large anteroom. "and there you will share a room with a child named Seigfried, though he's not here yet."

Luke touched the nape of his neck."So your head doesn't get sliced open?"At the womans comment of it being very painful his mouth opened slightly."Cool."He glanced up at the cat, smiling slightly. He then noticed the door had opened, perhaps this Feed thing had done it that the woman had?He moved through the mains doors, looking around quickly.Another door opened and the woman spoke of a nurse and an AI, whatever that was.He moved torwards the door and peeked around the frame, glancing back at the woman as she said something about a code anf sharing a room.He froned and looked up at the cat."Share a room?Feh.."

[ aerin pov] Aerin laughed, entirely amused by Luke's conversation with Alvira. He waved cheerily, his mice ears flicking around his nurse headband. "Don't mind her! She's a scary old hag!" he pulled a face, and then grinned at Luke. "I'm Aerin! RA is being emo today, so darling it'll just be you and me!"
He stood up from behind his desk, and patted the bed against a wall. "I'll need you to sit down over here, sweetie." Aerin said, smiling sweetly.

Luke's head jerked sideways at the sound of the laugh. He stepped around the door and looked at the guy, glancing at his ears, and sniggering a bit at the nurse headband, as well as the old hag comment. He looked the room and Aerin over before moving torwards the bed, plopping down on it as he asked"Whos RA?"He took the cat plush off his head and sat it on the bed beside him, wondering if this was the person who was going to slice open his head to stick in this Feed thing.

Aerin smiled again. "Yes, I am going to slice you open, to put the Feed in you," he said, his laughter sounding of light tinkling bells. "RA is our Residential Assistance artificial intelligence. It moniters everything, and that's why you're getting a feed, mainly. So it can keep an eye on you!"
As Aerin continued talking, he prepared a hypodermo needle and filled it with a liquid. "You might want to lean back, hun." Aerin put the needle down and went to get tubing for Luke's arm. "Once I stick ya, you'll pass out really soon. No excruciating pain for you, yay!" He laughed again, and went in to wrap the rubber tube around one of Luke's arms.

Luke blinked, wondering how this guy knew what he was thinking.'Weird.'A half-smile slid onto his face."Oh?So like..where is uhh..this RA?"He looked around the room for a moment before leaning back, watchin Aerin prepare the shot.He put a hand on the cat plush and pulled it back, so it too was leaned back.He merely nodded when Aerin said there would be no excrutiating pain, not really paying attention as he was watcihng the guy wrap the rubber tube thing around his arm.
