{:Missing Pages:}

There are words written upon this page, which are warped and simmering as if one cannot really read it without trying hard, and even if one tried their hardest the words would not make any sense. It's as if the pages were spelled against being read, and in a way for good reason.

There was a time Yukito went beyond what he was suppose to do, what he was blessed with doing. He played judge and god in a way, and for that he had to face his own judgement.

What happened during that time after he stepped beyond the line and the time he disappeared from the school he was helping out in? Curses are terrible burdens to bare.

And when one wish is made, something of equal value must be given.

{:Love?:}

Entrylog July 10th, 2006

My first offical entry log, and unfortunate to say that my first will be one to jot down my confusion, something I rarely feel. I suppose I have taken it for granted that up until this moment I always was (though it may not seem like it) aware of what went on around him. I was aware of feelings and the idea of love and finding someone to be with forever. Perhaps a strange thing to have a concept of with a mother who needs no man to help her raise her children, and has long given up on the idea of falling in love.

When Yue fell to love (though he never knew it until it was far too late), it was the beginning of us growing apart. In truth I didn't mind, after all twins cannot be together always, though we would always have each other. There were times that I felt... a bit jealous of Yue for being in love and I won't deny that. To have someone always care about you, to want to be with you is a wonderful thing. Funny thing is, despite it all I was blinded sided when someone told me, he loved me.

Ayce, has been a closest (probably only) friend as another Second, the first time we met we hit it off well. No doubt because we're so much alike (to the point where it scares my siblings). I guess the main problem is, I don't know myself how I feel. I've been so focused on Yue and Jaseth, somewhere in all of that I forgot myself.

I guess I better pay more attention to my feelings, otherwise I'm going to end up horribily confused.

{:The Heavens:}

User Image
Glowing golden lights drift past in a slow but constant pattern that could span decades if not centuries. These golden lights were stars, moons, suns and even planets. Though the scienitfic world would argue that these are nothing more than great masses of matter pulled into constant routes by gravity, the world of magic believed that these objects had the power to control fate, and destiny. By learning their cycles one could possibly predict an outcome. Science would call it impossible, but science has no place in the world of magic.

Well, perhaps that is not true.

For there is a science in watching the stars to predict the future, but that is a completely different science than most would be familiar with. A science Yukito Winters knew all too well, after all he had made it a science out of predicting the future. Ever since Yukito had first asked the Goddess Minty for a spell to see the future, he had been trying to scry using any means possible. His personal favourite, water as a medium to have visions of outcomes.

However, Yukito is not a normal person, he has had ties with the moon from the day his was born. Very much in the same way the sea has it's ties with the moon's cycle. So it was no surprise that evenually through all his experiementing with the different ways one could predict the future that he would turn to the stars.

Which is why Yukito could be found hovering over a special globe sometimes. When he was not out watching the stars. The Heaven's Globe, said to be an exact copy of the sky itself. He watches it carefully, jotting notes down about any changes he might see.

Some people call Yukito a bit spacy, because he watches the stars all the time. They say he's a bit strange for waiting outside in all sorts of weather (snowy weather he seems to like the best). The truth is though, Yukito is just doing what comes natural to him... and that is seeing the heavens for what they hold.

{:Apprentice:}

Entrylog Oct 7th, 2006

Well, this is certainly an interesting predictament I have found myself in. Not to say, it is necessarily a bad thing, it's just... a new experience for me I suppose. Though it won't do good to babber on about something in which I have not named. A most unique student has entered the school, one who has come on her own free will to learn all she can about mastering her magic. Her name is Elnara, she is an elf and one who has the ability to cast healing and fire.

Some might think these healing and fire casting are extreme opposites of each other, that would make it impossible for a person to master both but that is not true. Magic is of duality, a duality I know all too well being the twin of Yue. Though fire can burn, it can give warmth and therefore life. However, I find my problem does not lay in teaching her about healing, but rather about fire. I am of ice and snow, those are the elements I prefer, so it is going to take some figuring out how to deal with the fire aspect of her nature.

It has though, already been settled, starting when I can, she shall learn meditation. I only hope, that difference in race ( which would ultimately lead to difference in magic) does not hinder my ability to teach her.

I just hope she does not think of me too much of a klutz, I have not been showing my proper side all that well it seems these last several days. Falling over in my chair no less.

{:Ties that Bind:}

Entrylog Dec 16th, 2006

There is something interesting about Elnara Aldrich, and I don't mean for the fact that she is my student. I suppose.... if one must be accurate it has to do with the fact that there is something different about her. Well besides the fact she happens to be a natural scryer... which reminds me I must come up with lessons in scrying and see which she is best intune with.

I part of me wants to scry the past if possible, but I don't think she'd like that overly that much. Yue and I have been requested to help her find a way home, one I would gladly do. However I wonder where home is for her, that has been a confusing part for me. Since the family upon their discovery of her seem to dote on her quite a bit.

Of course I'm equally as guilty of doting on the young elf girl too.

We all have ties that binds, whether it is to our mate, friends or family. I do not have second sight, nor would I ever claim to, but there are things you just notice. There is a tie that binds her to Gaia, and I'm afraid my family is the cause of it.

Not that I mind.... I think the younger ones like her quite a bit.

{:No Rest for the Weary:}

Entrylog March 11th, 2007

There are times I feel that there are not enough hours within the day, it seems like there is always something to do. How I wish to just spend a whole day lounging with Ayce.... perhaps convincing Malficne to let Trisha look after him for a spell... or play nicely with the other siblings. It is not that my duties as doctor/healer has increased since Yue and I are full adults and therefore now offically members of staff. (We never did get more people for the medicial wing or security so Yue and I are heads of these departments by default). Not that I am complaining it is good for someone with a family to have a source of income if you're not living in the Second World all the time.

In addition though, we are in a rush to try and bring the portal up to specs as soon as possible. Originally it was just because we wanted to maintain some sort of contact with Elnara's home, but now a very interesting tidbit of information has fallen into the family's hands.

One... mother is the inheitor of a very, very large house. I had to go with her to see it, I had no idea grandmother's side of the family was so important. Second, grandfather is alive... the ideas I didn't fully understand, but apperately grandfather sealed himself away in something by accident. It is that, or grandmother (her spirit) had something to do with it. That... is left up to debate among the members.

All of this leads to a very busy family indeed.

{:Work Nearly Complete:}

Entrylog April 10th, 2007

The work for the Borderlands and for the Palace is nearly done, unfortunately having one in the West is out of the question, and better to leave it as it is rather than go through the trouble of obtaining permission from the monarch there. With this said and done Triton is also preparing to fulfil his promise to Elnara's friend, and in a way to Elnara herself even though she doesn't know about it.

It is very difficult to keep a journey like this underwraps. We don't know how many there are, or what they are like, and it won't do to have the whole family know. There is also in general not a lot of fighters in the family, and even though there is now Feng and Ryu, they are still learning, nevermind the fact they cannot be on land all the time makes this a very problematic journey for them. It'll probably be a week or two yet until we can be certain.

Still Triton needs to start now gathering the people he plans to take with him for this journey. Well that and someone needs to bring grandfather home...

{:Work Finished:}

Entrylog May 8th, 2007

The portal is finally complete, all there is now, is to tell the queen that it is finished. Mother also wishes to make her own journey so she may talk to Serenity. It is only fair afterall, unless Gion goes travelling I doubt Serenity will have known about the events that occurred around Elnara. If I'm right about the time difference, ten years is far too long, she doesn't deserve to wait longer to find out.

I've never met Serenity, since landing in the palace and all, but she must be very nice. Must be very lonely, I would be if I couldn't see my family. I do hope, even though it'll make her sad to find out her children have treated their sister like that (I know Mother would be sad if we did that), she'll be happy to hear about her grandchildren. Afterall Mother was nearly giggling like mad when Miyu and Watara were born.

Oh... speaking of which, I had not mentioned, Yue finally have children of his own. The first blood children, according to the family tree to exist in the past two generations... or is it three if you include them? Hmm... At any rate, Yue is proud and Miyu follows him often, she doesn't talk. Though I cannot tell if this is a result of Jaseth or of Yue. Since she does tend to make sounds... I guess she is the way Yue and I were when we were little. So hopefully she'll talk a bit more, I think she's a bit shy.

Now that the difficultly of the portal is completed, I'll leave it to Triton, Yue and Donovan to figure out how they're going to help Elnara's mother. In the mean time, well I must admit I've been neglecting my teaching duties, I must start making lessons plans. I can't keep thinking up lessons off the top of my head with Elnara.

{:Scrying:}

Entrylog July 4th

I don’t normally scry that often, even though that was one of the abilities I had requested to learn all those months ago. (It is funny I find how months is such a long time for a Second.) The future is not set in stone, which makes for confusing images one sees, but the present and past are different things all together.

Though I don’t normally have anything I really want to see, so what I see is just what appears. I think… the family is going to be in for some big changes and adventures in the future. Though that thought shouldn’t surprise me at all, but I think…. Life will get more interesting than it already has been if that is possible. I think… we’re due for some more interesting personalities into our lives.

Otherwise, besides the surprise visitors (I also think we’ll be getting more visitors someday), things run just as they always have at home. Just with the addition of Donovan added to the mix. Bets are still going around, thankfully everyone has moved off of Elnara, for her sake, but on mother and Donovan there are no limits. Marriage is the first of the bets that have been going around. I bet there will be no wedding unless we force it, but there will be a marriage.

{:Halloween:}

Entrylog 26th, 2007

Oh goody, Halloween is almost upon us again, then again the next several holidays all have vast qualities of sweets. Christmas happens to be my favourite because of the excessive (according to my brother) amounts of baked sweets that are made for the holiday. Halloween though, is a near second favourite of mine just for the candy.

It’s a pity Elnara can’t have chocolate, since that has always been a favourite for both holidays. After all what day isn’t complete without a chocolate pumpkin or perhaps a chocolate coin? Still, the holiday is so much fun, and it’s always the day I get lots of candy. I’ll just have to remember not to have any chocolate in my candy bowl this year!

I can put in lollipops (always a favourite when you see your local doctor), and mints, licorice… and I can also put in cameral too! Maybe I could ask Triton if he could make candy apple that would be a tasty treat.

Though the thing about Halloween in a non-human majority population is that it’s really hard to dress up as anything else. Most of us are already a bit strange by human standards. Hmm… I should get candy for the rest of the younger children too.

{: Weddings!: }

Entrylog January 2nd, 2007

This is wonderful! I’ve hadn’t had so much planning excitement since well… I don’t think anything like this has happened before. This is so wonderful I’ve never seen a wedding before. I know… it is odd for someone who is mated to have never seen a wedding, but we never had a wedding we just became mated and that was that. I don’t know why one must have something as complicated and as formal as a wedding. It makes very little sense to me, but if that is the way it is done then so be it.

First, Elnara and Lore are getting married (about time too). I hear there are plans to have the wedding in the Southland, but they need to talk it over with Elnara’s grandmother first. I don’t really know how that is going to work, but at least Lore has already met Elnara’s blood family, so there is very little (I hope) that will catch him off guard. Helen is already planning out the details for Elnara’s wedding dress, which hopefully will keep Helen from dressing up Ayce in anymore odd clothing.

Then there is mother and Donovan, who are also going to get married as of Christmas Eve (thank heavens). Though really, according to custom they are married, but Donovan’s mother wants a wedding, so a wedding she wants is a wedding she’ll get. Unfortunately Lau Mi (who will become the grandmother of the family) insisted on taking mother to a dressmaker for the wedding dress. Poor Helen wanted to make that dress too, but I have a feeling he might be making it anyhow. Since the gleam in Mi’s eyes worried me a bit.

So two weddings, two people finally getting together. As for me, I shall… think of what to give the so to be married couples.

{:Lesson Plans:}
Entrylog February 17th, 2008

The most difficult part about being a teacher for the angel twins is that unlike Elnara the lessons plans are forced to change. Elnara came to be my student of sorts when she was already fully grown and she was very aware of her magic, so the lesson plans stayed more or less the same. For Storm and Starr, mother and I had to take into consideration the fact they were Surprise Seconds and couldn’t do much. Not to mention to get them to work some forms of magic might be dangerous and their energy levels we had to take into account. Now that Storm and Starr are officially older, children stage, I find I have to rearrange the lessons a bit. For starters to seriously consider them casting magic, now would be the time to focus their attention to attempting to do something.

Like make it rain or snow, or perhaps yes even have fire in mid air if it came to that. The basic elements are simple, but coming up with the other elements out of that will be a task. In addition the two have to have serious book learning, so it is time for them to start attending official classes with mother.

Granted the twins are not the only ones whose lesson plans must be rearranged. For Lin it is no longer the fact she is not capable of attending some classes, but rather mother is having a hard time from keeping Lin from overworking herself. Lin is already suffering I’m sure from sleep deprivation, since she lives anywhere from a day and half to two days in one day. Though she has not been formally enrolled in the school, Lin has been taking up meditation, more fighting lessons with Donovan, who at times pass her off to Triton. Chinese and Japanese writing wise will always be a life long thing to learn, seeing as the writing system, at least for Chinese is still very complicated. Elvish, or rather High Elvish which Lin had begun learning as a Surprise is something she still takes lessons in. However upon learning she has the ability to listen in on voices carried by butterflies of all things, she’s also trying to learn Common Elvish, which adds up her language count to four. Mother is willing to let her, seeing as this would be the easiest time for Lin to learn.

Though now having to deal with Lin’s own magic, again is something of a task. Running ragged is always a fear, since there is little she does not want to learn. I wonder where she gets that from? Or if it is just a result of her being stubborn.

{:Changes:}
Entrylog May 10th, 2008

Things have been going wonderfully this week, better than most would hope for. Toshiro is well on his way to being a normal Second, he might not be able to cast any serious spells, not without a major power boost from Miyu, but we’ll see what happens a few months down the road.

Everyone is getting ready to move into the new ‘clan’ grounds, houses were being built so that those of us with families can actually have a larger place to stay in. Though the inn will remain in family possession probably through portal it will continue to be a gathering place for all of us.

Elnara and Lore continue to plan their wedding, and should be wedded soon, while Donovan is making for a quick family wedding before his mother gets on his case. She is already spending a great deal of time here and in the interest of the education of the younger children.

Feng has pretty much disappeared off the face of the inn, school and anywhere else in Gaia. This has mother very worried and Donovan isn’t any better since Ai had told him that Feng has not showed up for practice at all. Ryu, who has never been separated from his twin for this long of a period might be going stir crazy by now. I think though Kali knows what is going on.

Oh yes, with all this happening I almost forgot to mention that Ayce grew, so he’s all grown up now. This brings just another interesting side to life in the family. I look forward to it, well I just look forward to spending time with Ayce.

{:Making of an Ice Mage:}

“You want me to what?!”

Yukito blinked twice and stared down at the little girl who had come in for her usual magic lessons. Magic lessons in itself was not unusual, Miyu had the gift for it just like him and her father, his brother. However most of their lessons had been feeling out what type of magic she was comfortable with, and learning how to use that magic, which has they learned revolved around two things. Ice and light, or rather she had a connection to the stars and she still liked the cold, like ice and snow. In the small time Miyu had been his student, she had learned how to make stars, make ice and even could lightly make it snow indoors. This was the first time however he could ever recall she wanted to learn how to do something with her magic.

Miyu looked down blushing like she had just said a bad word, “I want to learn… how to be stronger… with my magic.”
“What do you mean?”

He got down on his knees and put a gentle hand on her shoulder, she seemed unsure of herself. As if she wanted to do this, but at the same time she didn’t. Which wasn’t surprising, Yue had been trying to get Miyu to start something in defense but Miyu being well… Miyu it never worked. She would become too scared, startled too easily, in other words it didn’t seem at all she could be a battle mage. This had been the reason why Miyu was turned over to him, because Yue thought that maybe Miyu would like the healing arts like Yuki did. She seemed to like it so far.

“I…” Miyu fidgeted uncomfortably, “don’t…”

She looked away, as if ashamed to admit the one thing everyone knew even though no one faulted her for it. It was what made Miyu, Miyu so why would they be annoyed by it at all. It seemed though; in Yukito’s mind that someone had gave Miyu the impression that she wasn’t that good. Not that Yuki minded Miyu learning, it was just disheartening to see someone look ashamed like that.

“Want to run…” she whispered.

There she had said it, and now she kind of wanted to hide under a rock somewhere thank you very much. Being naturally pale, any redder and Yuki might have to send her to the medical office quickly. Still, he had to think about this as best as he could, because she honestly wanted to learn. As her teacher it was his duty to make sure she learned, but how did you teach a girl who was afraid of nearly everything not to run?

Then it hit him, give her a reason not to run.

Yukito thought about it, this was more Yue’s thing than his, but he could come up with something similar what with water and wind being the parents of ice and snow, “Well… I guess the best way to keep you from running, is to teach you things so you know if you were in trouble, you could use those to keep you safe.”
“Really?” she looked up from the floor her eyes glimmered with hope.

If she could convince herself she would be safe, then maybe she would be alright. As long as she didn’t run, then maybe… just maybe she wouldn’t be so scared. It was awful after all… having a father who was not scared of anything and an Uncle who could go up to anyone with a smile, and then to have her who would run.

“Yup!” the snow mage nodded, “You have ice and snow already in your bag of tricks, and those are pretty good to warn away people or animals, and…. Did you know your Daddy makes shields? If you learned how to make a shield then maybe you can feel a bit safer being around people. You have a lot of magic, you could hold one for quite a while.”

Besides, she was getting old according to the chorological age, he would have to allow her to experiment and do magic by herself. Teaching her actual practical uses for her magic was the first step to getting her to do it by herself. Not to mention Yue would just be happy that his little girl was learning something to defend herself with. Maybe if Yukito was lucky he could convince Miyu to maybe take up a weapon of some sort.

He wasn’t going to hold his breath for that one.

“But what if I run anyways?” Miyu asked a bit sadly, she knew how she could get.
“That takes time Miyu,” Yuki assured her patting her on the head, “First you need the skills to help you face life, and we’ll start by your water and wind summoning first okay?”

She looked confused at his request, no surprise seeing as she didn’t see a connection between the exercises that she did and how that could help her in the real world. Summoning allowed her to turn one thing into something else, to bring forth was wasn’t there before, which was why he was getting her to do it, besides there were other reasons. Yukito grinned standing up once more and holding out his one hand. A cool wind entered the room swirling around the palm of his hand until it cooled creating crystal flakes before finally becoming a snowball.

“Elements can be useful things,” he commented lightly tossing the snow ball from one hand to another keeping his hands cool so it wouldn’t melt, “And being who you are, you probably don’t notice the cold do you?”
Miyu thought about it and then shook her head, she had never noticed before.
“Tell me Miyu,” he looked mischievous, “How cold can you make your hand?”

He tossed the snowball to her letting her catch it, she could feel it melting in her hand the moment it came into contact. Then suddenly it cooled again and icy frost covered the snowball until it was hard and yet delicate like glass.

“Very cold right?” he asked her, “Normal people can’t do that, to be that cold would make it hurt.”
“You mean…” Miyu frowned for a moment, “Like the way Arwen got that bruising when I was trying to make ice halos? That… ice burn?”
“That’s right… if your hands are that cold… do you think someone can touch you?” he asked her kindly.

Miyu thought about it looking back at her hands and if she imagined it she could see her hands turning white from frost but she didn’t feel a thing. Her blood still flowed like it always had, but went she lifted her hand from the snow ball she could see the lacey ice of frost across her palms like a second skin.

“It would be very cold, it would hurt after a while if it was cold enough,” she told him.
Yukito smiled, she was as bright as ever he thought cupping her chin so she looked up at him a bit more, “If you let it, ice… the elements of water and wind can be your protection. If you believe you’re strong enough, you won’t have to fear as much… and who knows, maybe you can help someone with that magic of yours.”

The little girl blinked and looked down at her hands, what could she do? Summon winds to protect her? Play with water like she did ice? Hide people? Hinder people? Help people?

“Could I summon things out of snow like you?” she asked Yukito remembering all those snow bunnies he used to make.
“If you want to,” Yuki grinned, this was going to be fun.
Miyu looked down at the snowball which had now become a ball of ice, “I’d like that… I want to help too… but first… I need to learn not to run.”

{:It's A Normal Life:}
Entrylog August 9th, 2008

One should always be careful what they wish for, because it could always happen. Yet, I can not help but think that I wished for a bit more excitement in life. The first year the school was founded so much had happened that when everything settled down it was a blessing. Though now everything as settled into a routine sometimes I wish for something a bit more.

Not that the students don’t keep me busy with whatever injuries they end up with. Mainly it is the fighters rather than the magic users, but the magic users have the most interesting injuries due to the nature of their work. Speaking of magic users, Miyu’s training is going well. She’s learned a lot more in the ins and outs of using ice, though she is going to need formal training the Seconds way in magic. Since that is the magic traditionally allowed in our world.

As an assignment I asked her to write a list of magic she would like to learn, basing it on what she would like to specialize in. Ice magic will certainly be a must, I think shields would be more her preference. Yet I also believe it would be good for her to learn something offensive, though what that would be, I’m not sure yet.
