"Get your weights." Silva said. "You'll start with curls, then presses, and a set of crouches if you last long enough. I'll show you if you need it. And darlin... you're no angel."
Soho was stretching, sitting on her bottom with the soles of her feet touching and leaning forward so that her head rested on her feet. But... She let out a little snore. Seven was an awfully early time to wake up, after all!
Nick let out a low whistle at the expertise and beauty of her stretching. "I think this might actually get entertaining! And yeah, you should be fine." He said. He slipped into his starting position, waiting for her to follow suit. "You've done this before, right? So I don't have to explain stuff?"
Aleric very calmly headed for the weights area, nudging Soho awake and readying to be the spotter for the girls.

"I am so an angel," Marne argued sunnily, retrieved both Garfield and Odie and padded over to Aleric. (She had seen curls on TV, and started; they were inevitably a little violent and made her teeny-weeny biceps look in imminent danger of being flexed out of her arm wholesale, but hopefully Aleric would correct her before she ended up with two dead arms.)

Brunswick looked over from where he was (for once) being obedient and going through the warm-ups that Nack suggested. He grinned and, when he spoke, it was only the most tiniest bit breathless. "Of course, you're an angel, Marne," he called. "You're just a bit," he searched for the word, "tarnished around the edges."
Slipping into a complimentary fighting stance, Galatea almost glowed at the praise from Nick. "I have," she agreed, "in a way. I've never properly sparred against someone, though. I've shadow-boxed mostly and imitated the Captain's movements. Oh, and... Thank you." She flexed her hands, fingers curling in, then out, and smiled. "This is an honor, Mr. Nick."

"You need to smooth the motions out." Aleric said softly as he adjusted Marne's hold on her weights. "The whole point of curls is to use both bicep and tricep." He went on. "Here, I'll show you." With that he picked up one of the gigantic bolts lying on the chest and slowly did a curl, pointing out which muscle was related to which movement.
Soho bounced up and headed for her own weights, starting her little workout as well. She had already been shown this. She let out another little yawn halfway through her first curl and glanced briefly over at Brunswick.
Silva shook his head, then looked over at Nick and Gala. "Keep it fair, boy."
"I will, Boss!" Nick called back. "We'll start with taking turns. See how good your blocking is, as well as your attacking. And when I call out head, you aim for my head, got it? Or anywhere else I say. I'll do the same." Which was more formal than what they usually did, but she had never sparred properly, so it had to be done right.
Nack looked at the boy, a little irritated that he was stuck with this job, but knowing there was a reason. He was the most fragile looking of them all. Well, other than Soho, that was. And Silva wanted the boy to know that any and all of them could kick his a**. It was Silva's usual logic. So he picked up his notes again and started a quick chart.
"The Boss says you're slow." He said bluntly. "Is that your only weakness? Or should I work on your aim, too?"

Marne's tongue stuck out the side of her mouth as she obediently followed Aleric's movements, mimicking him, beaming as the movement urged muscles she hadn't been aware she'd had. "Neat!"

"I'm not that slow." Brunswick somehow managed to morph the impending scowl into yet another sunny smile. "My aim's not too shabby either. Just because your boss is a freak of nature. Bloody hell," yep, he has been living with Jack Bierce, "don't tell him I said it but the old b*****d is -tough-. Really tough."
Over beside Nick, Galatea nodded solemnly. "Alright," she agreed. "I'll do my best." A shy smile added to the hopeful expression on her face. "You're very good. I'll have to work hard to keep up."

Aleric smiled slightly. "Now, the next lift has you pulling your elbow back and the weight to your waist." He said, showing them that as well. "It emphasizes shoulder strength."
Soho was singing to herself as she worked, her sweet voice incredulous sounding with the rasping growl of the stereo. But she was happy. Although she was going to get tired pretty soon. In fact she was pretty tired already. So she only blinked as she caught sight of the blue and white female in the window.
"Um... yeah." Nick said with a wider grin. "I guess I am pretty good! But we'll work at it, you know? You'll be great by the time we're done with you!" He motioned. "Now aim for the head."
"It's probably good you realize that now." Nack said as he took his position. "Before you did something stupid, like challenge him to a fight." He threw a slow jab with his right fist to see how the boy reacted.
Silva looked over, fingering his toothpick and eyeing the latest arrival. "Well, darlin? You're not going to get anywhere if you just watch." He said in a casual invitation.

Marne's attention span skipped like a bad CD; she held up the weight to curl it to her forearm, but her head whipped around to see the new arrival in the window. "Hey! Who's she? She's cute! We redheads are hot!"

Closing her fist loosely, thumb on the outside, Galatea eyed Nick. She was too short; she would have to reach too high to aim for his head and the punch would lose considerable power. However, the head is what he said and she wanted to please him. Aiming carefully, she launched her fist at her sparring partner's head, loathe to put her entire weight into it and risk unbalancing herself.
Brunswick only barely managed to dodge Nack's swing since his attention had unfortunately been drawn to the window by Silva's announcement. So, while he avoided a thick ear, he also had the ignominous fortune to stumble as he tried to stabilize himself from his reaction. He didn't let it bother him, however, and raised a hand to wave at Bavaria. "Hey, BeeVee," he called. "Here to visit your new 'family'?" There was more than a little bit of annoyance put in the final word; he didn't see how Silva and that lot dared to claim his sister for their own.

Nick gently caught her fist, pulling it down and raising his free hand as a sign to pause. "Sorry, guess I'm too used to Nack. We'll aim lower next time." He said as he let go of her hand. He didn't think a thing about touching her, touching was a way of life in his world.
"BeeVee?" Soho asked, putting her weights down. "Hi! My name's Soho!" She said as she crossed over to the other female. "Are you my cousin?"
"That she is, darlin." Silva said, glancing over to Aleric who nodded and headed over as well. "Aleric, Soho, this is our new family member."
"A pleasure to meet you, Bavaria." Aleric said with a slight bow. Then he looked over at Marne. "Maybe we should take a break?" He offered. "So we can meet our newest friend."
Nack jotted down a few more notes, once again noting that Brunswick needed to work on his speed.

"Good idea," Marne agreed with Aleric, and Odie and Garfield were quickly dumped. She flitted along behind Soho, arms clasped behind her back as she inspected Bavaria. "Hey, I want to be cousins too! At least cousins in-law!"

"No way," muttered Brunswick under his breath as he padded over to his sister. "Let's not go there with the cousins." Louder, though, he laughed and shrugged. "Ladies, this is Bavaria," he offered. "My sister." He winked at Soho and Marne. "Only -I- get to call her BeeVee, though. Right?"
Galatea turned to better look at the new arrival and bit down on her lip at Brunswick's announcement. His sister. Could that mean that she..? She looked back at Nick as if waiting for his cue. She had no real interest in mingling with new faces. She was just getting comfortable with her new friends.
