Huh?

Nyoka walks through the Loka Nei forest, coming back from Nixie's cabin. She shoves her hands into the pockets of her tight black jeans, and kicks at a rock with her high-heeled, black cowboy boots.

She blows her long bangs out of her face before she stops. Her muscles tighten as her pointed ear twitches. Narrowing her yellow-green, serpentine eyes, she looks in the direction of the noise.

She pulls her hands out of her pockets, and puts one over the hilt of the snake dagger strapped to her thigh. She starts to walk slowly in the direction that the noise is coming from, feeling an odd pull in that direction, as well.

She steps into a small clearing after a bit, and blinks. Her muscles relax when she sees what - or who, rather - are making the noise.

Two babies are in baskets, crying their little heads off, wrapped in blankets. From what Nyoka can tell, one of them has brown skin with what appears to be lighter markings around the eyes, and the other has pale skin, with black markings.

Nyoka walks over to the two babies, and kneels down in front of them. "Shhhhhh," she says, soothingly.

As soon as the babies sense her presence, they stop crying. The little brown one regards Nyoka with whiskey-colored eyes, while the pale one looks at her with fiery ones.

Nyoka blinks, but her black lips manage a smile. "I wonder why the two of you are out here. . . ." she says aloud.

Then, with her brow furrowed, she notes an envelope in the pale one's basket. She reaches forward and plucks it up, before studying the outside.

She opens it and reads the words on the slip of parchment in the envelope. When she is done, she blinks rapidly, just staring at the words for a long time.

Finally, she looks over at the babies, a little nervous. It isn't the usual nervousness she feels around children this time, the overwhelming kind that makes her want to turn tail and run as fast as she can. This time it is the kind she felt when she took Ernia on as a daughter. She just knows that she is going to screw this up. . . .

Sighing, she reaches out and picks up the brown Pae'il. Once she is settled against Nyoka, she then picks up the pale one. "Alright, you two. Looks like you are coming home with me. Once we get there, I will think of names for you. . . ."

The brown Pae makes a little sighing sound, whilst the pale one sort of trembles before settling down again. Frowning, Nyoka disappears with a pop.

Home!
And, Then: Names. . . .

Nyoka looks down at the two pae'il lying on her large, canopy bed. She shoves her hands into her pockets again, and taps her foot against the marble floor as she studies them.

"Hmmmm," she thinks. She would like to give them Greek names, as she is fondest of those. But, something in her wants to give them something elven. She blames her mums for that. . . . Well, more Mum Eirnae than Mum Lenore. And, Shina, whom is one of her sisters.

Nyoka takes a few steps forward, until she is on the side that the brown female is on. She leans over her, her long hair a curtain around her face. Something in the way the little one stares up at her with her whiskey eyes makes her think that they might be kindred spirits. It isn't just the look in her eyes. Once they got home, and she started watching the little ones, she got the feeling that both of them might have a bit of the warrior spirit in them.

Her black lips curl a little, and she reaches out to tickle the little girl. She gets the satisfactory giggle out of her, and nods. "Alright, I think I might have a name for you, at least. . . ." she chuckles. "I will call you Maethor. I know, it might sound a little girly, or even wimpy, little one. But, all elven words are beautiful. Your name means 'warrior.'"

When Maethor just stares up at Nyoka with a small smile on her lips, Nyoka nods, and walks around the bed. She leans over the pale male child and studies him, as well.

"You are going to be trickier," she says, watching him tremble again. Her brow furrows as, before her eyes, he seems to change. He stops trembling, and seems to stare up at Nyoka with fearless, fiery eyes.

Nyoka blinks, but her black lips curl a little as well. With the boy, she unwraps the blanket, and holds him. Gently rubbing his back, she studies the markings on his skin. "For some reason, little one, the name Sereg pops out at me when I look at you. It's a good, strong name. It's also an elven one, and it means 'blood.'"

Sereg nuzzles his face into Nyoka's shoulder, and pops his thumb into his mouth. At that little movement, something inside of Nyoka startles her. Her heart seems to melt, and she hugs him close.

She then walks back around the bed, and scoops Maethor up. "Alright, let's tour your new home, shall we?" she says. With a smile, she walks toward the door of her room. "You can meet the staff, and the women I am closest to here. . . ."

These little ones, together, are proving to be easier to take care of than Ernia EVER was.

Although Sereg can be a cry-baby at times, Maethor is proving to be just the kind of girl I thought she would be. She hasn't cried once since I brought them to the palace.

Sereg is an odd one, though. I don't know how to explain it, really. And, I am not sure that I will be able to, either. Not until he grows more, and I better understand him. We'll see if his oddities are just for the time being, or if they stay with him until he is fully grown.

Maethor shows an interest in my bow. I can't say it is because it is shiney, or anything like that. Granted, I do have silver snakes painted on it, but they are getting a little worn from so much use, and aren't quite as shiney as they were before. This will need further exploring, as well.

I will say, though, that I do hope that these two prove to be interesting in training. Then, we will have more to bond over. Ernia never showed an interest in learning how to use a weapon, so we never really had anything that we connected with. Training is, pretty much, my life. And, dancing.

But, as I said, we will see. And, I am not going to force it on them, either. If I learned anything from my mums it is that you should let the child grow in the way that they wish to, encourage whatever interests that they might want to persue.

The rest of the Amazons seem to be a little warry of Sereg. Of course, since he is my adopted son, they cannot ask me to send him away. I think they are secretly praying that he turns out to be gay, like Jethro.

Anyway, it has been busy around here. I have devoted a room to the new additions to the palace, and I have been buying baby things. I was not keen on buying them cribs, as these Pae'il seem to grow far too quickly. So, they sleep in the large beds in their rooms, with the soft bars around it to prevent them from rolling off of the matress. I have also bought them a few toys, and some clothes. Yes, I am becoming a little maternal again. Scarey, isn't it?

I had best go. Sereg has just started crying, and I have some meetings that I need to attend before I can put him and Maethor down for bed.

Growth Spurt!

Nyoka wanders into the room that Sereg occupies. She hums to herself, and spins around.

She has just gotten through with a long training session, and she finally disarmed Iphigenia, using her sword. She feels, for once, that she is making some real progress with the sword, which is good.

She stops when she sees Sereg looking up at her from his bed. He is on his hands and knees, and smiling, his little wings flapping.

Nyoka quirks a brow, and walks over to the now toddler boy. He has a head full of hair, now, and it sparkles with something akin to faerie dust, and is blood red. It gives his snowy-white hair a blood-splattered look.

"Hello, little Sereg. Do you want to come with me to go and check on your sister?" Nyoka asks him.

In response to her question, Sereg sits back, and makes grabby hands at Nyoka. The gorgon scoops up Sereg, and slithers toward the door that connects Maethor's and Sereg's room. She opens the door, and finds Maethor sitting up in her bed. She is rolling around a little ball on the cover, not really looking as though she is having fun.

She turns her large eyes to watch her mum slither into the room. She immediately stops playing with the ball, and folds her hands in her lap.

She has a head full of curly, slightly unruly hair, as well. And, the highlights in them only seem to bring out the warm hue of her skin.

"You two," Nyoka shakes her head, smiling. "Someday soon, you both are going to come running into my room and jumping on me."

Sereg seems to find that amusing, and giggles. Maethor, on the other hand, just tilts her head to the side, her face emotionless.

"Alright, we have more shopping to do," Nyoka says, and scoops up Maethor as well.

My, these little ones are becoming more vocal! And moving around so much, it is a job in itself, trying to keep up with them! I don't know where I find the time, really.

I guess I should be happy that I don't have that second job anymore.

Sereg is turning out to be more. . . . Hmm. I don't want to say coward, but he seems like a mumma's boy. He sticks to me like glue! I still think he might have something of a warrior's spirit in him, but it just might take a bit for it to come out. I do see glimpses of it, however, when he is playing with Maethor. Sometimes, he will get combative with her, and I have to literally go over and pull them apart! Gods, them screaming in baby talk is enough to drive any gorgon insane! And, you know, any 'normal' person.

Maethor is, aside from her shouting matches with Sereg, a hard one to read. She rarely shows any sign of emotion on her face. I have deciphered some of her looks, and can now tell what she wants from me. She is just so quiet half of the time! She seems to be lost in her own little world, and doesn't seem to need as much attention as Sereg. She's the easier of the two to handle.

Anyway, I took them shoping for clothes. Both seem to have their own ideas, already, on what they want to wear. I find it a mite odd that they are so interested in Grecian clothing, especially ancient styles. You know, back in MY time. They both just wanted simple togas, for now. It seems I didn't need to get them out of Greece to get them all that they wanted. They also insisted on the strappy sandals. Maethor, appearance-wise, always wants her hair put up. I think she has such pretty hair that she should leave it down! All those pretty, burnished highlights really warm her coloring. Sereg, on the other hand, is more like me. He doesn't like me brushing his hair. And, I can't blame him. I hate brushing my own. I only do so once a week, sadly, and that is when one of the women in the palace pushes me back into my room and insists on fixing my hair.

All-in-all, I think that the three of us will get along rather well, if out time together so far is any indication. Even if it won't be a quiet existance, all of us will lead much more interesting lives because of it. . . .

SUGAR?!

Nyoka hums as she slithers toward her room. She is taking her hair down from the high pony tail she usually keeps it in, intent on jumping into a shower. Today's training session was grueling. Just because she has shown some promise with her sword work, doesn't mean that Iphigenia should put her through the paces like that!

Of course, she would like to believe that it is because she has kicked her a** the past few times they have trained together. . . .

She pauses as she is getting ready to open her door. Her brow furrows as she turns to look at the door that leads to Sereg's room.

When she hears another crash, her eyebrows wing up, and she is practically flying toward the door, her small wings flapping behind her in an attempt to move faster.

When she throws open the door, she doesn't know what to expect. . . .

. . . . But it sure isn't what she is confronted with.

Sereg is giggling, crawling around faster than she has ever seen him crawl before. He is throwing things around the room, watching the pictures on the wall come crashing to the ground.

"Sereg!" Nyoka cries, in an admonishing tone.

That doesn't seem to stop him. He comes shooting at her. Once he is close enough, he launches up, and starts crawling up her tail, moving faster, and a bit clumsier, than he should. He keeps making his way upward until he is perched on Nyoka's shoulder.

"Mum taller!" he cries, giggling and kicking his little feet.

Through this all, Nyoka has sit, stock still. She is unsure of what to make of this, and is shaking her head.

"Taller!" Sereg demands.

That seems to snap Nyoka out of it. Absently, she pushes herself up on her tail, as she calls out, "Georgette!"

The amazon hurries into the room, and watches as Nyoka pushes herself up almost to the tip of her tail. Her eyes widen as she sees Sereg, using Nyoka's hair as "rope" so that he can move behind her back and to her other shoulder.

"Why is he so hyper?" Nyoka asks, in Greek.

"Highness, I only gave him a sugar cookie," Georgette replies, bowing low. "The cook made some lovely cookies, with icing designs. Almost too beautiful to eat. . . ."

Nyoka groans a little. "Please, tell me Maethor did not have any. . . .?" When Georgette shakes her head, Nyoka sighs her relief. "Please inform everyone that Sereg and Maethor are not allowed to have . . . sweets. For the time being. I want to be on the safe side, just in case cookies are not the only thing that makes him like this," she instructs, wincing a little as Sereg almost falls. He grabbed her hair in order to stay on her, whole Nyoka caught him with her wing.

"Yes, Highness. Right away," and with that, Georgetta hurries out of the room.

Nyoka sighs, and decides she has nothing else to do but wait for this to pass. . . . She does smile, however (even if Sereg is pulling out her hair!). She hasn't seen the little guy giggle so much, and she hasn't seen him so happy. . . .

Nyoka stumbles, holding onto Mae and Ser tightly, as she lands in the landing circle. She got directions here from her mum.

"Alright, little ones, maybe we can get you some friends?" Nyoka asks, smiling down at the Pae'il in her arms.

Sereg seems to like the idea, but Maethor, per usual, is unreadable.

Shrugging, Nyoka slithers forward, looking around.

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar
"How much further?" Shina asks of the teen Pae in her arms, having to yell over the press of the wind. Her hollaring is answered by a loud 'Squee!' from her right, where Friend is swirling her arms in circles as Ruathal tries to maintain his grip around the Care Pae's waist. "Quite the wriggly one we've got here!" he bellows over to Shina, his wings pumping just as hard as the Fa'e's to keep him and the little Pae in the air.

"We'd best land soon!" Shina replies, looking about beneath them for a clear area to do just that. "Down there, the landing circle is perfect!" she calls to Ruathal.

"But we haven't found the temple ruins yet!" Casala protests as both of her companions with wings start for the landing circle. Her words are ripped away from her lips and tossed into the wind, the Pae clamping her mouth shut to avoid having her breath torn from her as well.

Nyoka is bending down to put Maethor and Sereg down, when she happens to look at her 'sisters' bracelet. Her brow furrows and she stands straight.

She pushes herself up on her tail, and looks in the air. Off in the distance, she sees the familiar figure of her sister. Grinning, she settles back down on her tail, and looks at the young Pae'il.

"Looks like you two are going to meet one of your aunts," she tells them.

Sereg immediately crawls over to Nyoka, and nuzzles his face into her stomach, as though if he can't see the other people, they can't see hiim. His little wings flap through teh slits of his simple, black toga, and Nyoka shakes her head.

Maethor takes a moment to straighten her simple, white toga, before turning her eyes up to look in the direction her mother was looking. She waits peacefully.

Nyoka frowns, and pulls out one of her daggers, when she hears more beating of wings. When she sees who it is, she smiles, and relaxes, sheathing the dagger once more.

Nakia, her longtime companion, lands gracefully in front of her. Her toned body rivals Nyoka's, and her long, wavey, blue-green hair glistens around her sun-bronzed skin. Her large wings, the feather's colors matching her hair, fold behind her, as she straightens her short, lavendar toga. Nakia grins, turning twinkling turquoise eyes to Nyoka as her large, furry, green ears twitch as the wing blows the little tufts. Her green devil-tail-like, scaley talk swishes behind her. "You've left me back home too many times. I thought I would follow you this once, Nyoka."

Nyoka merely shakes her head. "I think you chose the right time. . . " she says, in an undertone. If her keen eyes do not decieve her. . . .

Playing with blocks in a corner by herself, as her mother had just gone to fetch a snack for the little icy Pae, Shiva looked around at the new noise.

She smiled brightly, and started to crawl towards them, and using a nearby branch to pull herself up and toddle over there on uneven legs. As she got closer, she saw that the big snake lady was very pretty, and the two with wings were close to her age. "Hewwo!!!" she said, before falling onto her knees again.

The fall didn't phase her, and she giggled happily.

Torvil Rakamash
Three voices were soon heard coming down the path towards Nyoka and the others there, two male and one female, and they seemed to be having, not quite an argument, but definatly a debate of some sort.

"Look, I don't see what the problem is, I can just summon anything you two need, so why are you being such wimps about it!" The female voice grumbled. "It's not like the guardian's gave me this power NOT to use it!"

"It's too easy Polgara, why should we not work hard to try and fix our clothing, after all, that's part of the trial," A Strong firey Male voice relpied.

"He has a point Pol," A more smooth and slightly more mature male voice spoke. "It's all too easy for you to summon us new shirts, but if we are to fix our own, we know that they are well worth fixing.

"ARGH!" Polgara grumbled as she came into view, tossing up her arms at the two white haired shirtless men, one a demon and the other an Angel, "I will never get you two!"

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar
"Follow my lead!" Shina bellows so Ruathal can hear, Casala clapping her hands over her ears a bit too late for it to help block out the roaring wind and Shina's raised voice.

"Hang on, little sister!" Shina warns her grimacing passengar as she tucks her wings back and starts to dive. "Hang on to whaa - Aaaaah!" Casala shrieks, forgetting all about her eardrums and the need for air as the ground starts to loom up ahead much faster than she's comfortable with. She clings to Shina's arms as if they are her only life line, with in this cause isn't that far off the mark.

"Right behind you!" Ruathal announces as he starts his own dive, having had to pause to find the same current that Shina is riding upon. Friend's squeal of excitement assures him that any worry for the Care Pae would be wasted at this point, though he does adjust his grip to be more secure.

Friend's excitement, Ruathal's concern, and Casala's fear are soon joined in Shina's mind by ... "Nyoka?" she whispers, the sound lost as soon as it leaves her. "Nyoka!" she adds at a much higher decibal, unable to wave as she wishes. She doubts her sister will hear her, but she has to express her joy somehow.

Shina's wings spread as she gets still closer to the ground, flapping to slow the pair's descent. Casala's eyes are tightly shut now, her hair a tangled mess about her, or at least what wasn't pinned against Shina's chest. A tenative tap on the ground with a foot once Shina sets her down assures her that, yes, she's on terra firma once more. "Thank the Guardians," she murmurs, peeking open one eye to find herself staring up at the scaled beauty that is Nyoka. "Oh ... my ..." Quick to remember her manners, Casala dips into a half bow, then looks up curiously when she feels the 'whoosh' of air that relates Shina's running from point a to point b, with point b being her throwing her arms about Nyoka in a hug to beat all hugs. "You've been in Greece for so long, 'Oka!" Shina declares, "How are you? How are your girls doing?"

Okay ... Obviously she's missed something. Casala looks from Nyoka to Shina, trying to make sense of the situation. The name rings several bells in her head, but she's never seen a picture of Nyoka before, and all previous physical descriptions were shady at best. However, her big sister is having what Eirnae would call a 'moment' here, so best not to interupt.

Ruathal had been so busy making sure that Shina first landed safely, and then he himself with his cargo, that he hadn't noticed Nakia till it was too late to run and hide under a boulder ... or behind a tree, whatever is available. It's not that he's not delighted to see Nakia, it's just ... He hasn't seen her since the change, as he's been so focused on helping Shina, and the children, and ... His thoughts flow into a hazy mush as he tries to dismiss the blush that's taken over his cheeks, setting Friend down so she can scrample over to where Maethor and Sereg are standing to curtsey. "Hello! My name is Friend, and it's a pleasure to meet you!" She performs another curtsey for Nakia before noticing the taller woman's ears, tail, and wings. "You look just like Ruathal! Well, sort of, anyway. You have the chest bumps, though." She turns and tries to wave Ruathal over, "Rua, look! She's like you!"

"Oh! Hello!" Friend says to the little toddler. "Wow, you have such pretty hair!" She compliments, then hurrying over when Shiva topples over. "You okay?" She can't remember what it was like being a toddler, so she has no idea how such a fall can't hurt at least a little. Was she ever one?

(( Holy snickerdoodle ... That got long. o.O; Sorry for the pause, everyone! ^^; ))

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
"Hello," Nyoka says, gently pulling Sereg away from her so that she can bend to be on almost the same level as the new toddler. "My name is Nyoka, and this is Nakia," she says, gesturing toward the other humanoid, who inclines her head. "That's Maethor, and this is Sereg," she finishes.

Sereg actually stops cowering against Nyoka, and turns to face Shiva. His large eyes take her in. Will she be a threat to him? Hmmm. . . . "Hewwo," he mimics, though in a very shy voice, before he hides behind Nyoka, grabbing one of her wings to hide behind.

Maethor sighs, and looks over at Shiva. She says nothing as she stares, unblinkingly, at her a moment, before turning her gaze away.

Nyoka looks up once more when her keen ears hear more voices. She offers them a friendly wave, although it seems they might be too intent on their conversation to see her.

She is soon interruped as she is slammed into. "Ooof!" she says, her wing tearing away from Sereg's grip as she instinctively flaps them so that she can keep her balance, even as she throws her own arms around her sister. "Shina, my gods, it's great to see you!" she says, squeezing her sister tight, forgetting her own crippling strength for a second or two, before she loosens her hold. "I had . . . things I needed to think over," she says, vaguely explaining her absense.

Nakia sniffs the air. She knows the scent. . . . "Oh my gods!" she actually squeals, and hurls herself at her old friend, not caring if she sends the both of them rolling along. She giggles as she does so, intent on looping her arms around Ruathal the moment she makes contact, and temporarily forgetting her manners.

Nyoka looks over Shina's shoulder, and down at the little orange Pae. "Uhm, Nakia will be with you in a moment, don't worry. She gets overexcited, she means no rudeness," she explains, feeling Sereg move further behind her, and trying to hold in an eyeroll over it. She gives Cass a welcoming smile.

Maethor eyes the new arrivals, as though sizing them up.

Smiling, Shiva slowly climbed back up to stand. She was young enough that she was still a bit unsteady on her legs. But her words were becoming more developed every day.

"I'se fine. Such pwetty ladies here! You look pwetty too." Impulsively, she reached out and grabbed Friend's hand.

Jogging back from where she was, bag in hand, Nessy was looking around a bit frantically for her child. She left her for a minute, and suddenly all these people were here!

Spotting her holding the hand of what looked to be an orange Care Pae, she breathed a quick sigh of relief and walked over. "Hello there, I'm Nessy, and this is my daughter, Shiva. I'm sorry if she bothered you."

Torvil Rakamash
The Three Elders blinked for a moment and watched the group, growing silent for a moment, and nodding to each other.

"It seems we have ourselves some company," Sol said, watching for a moment and smiling. "Hello everyone!"

The other two Elders remained silent for the most part, mainly because Sol was the face man.

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar
Shina doesn't mind her aching sides or the threatening throb within her head as so many people enter her field of empathic influence. Right now she's too hopped up on the drug neatly labeled 'Reunion'. Once Nyoka eases her hold, Shina slides back to give her sister some room to work with. That and to give herself the opportunity to introduce herself to Nyoka's companions. "It's alright, 'Oka. You don't have to explain." How could she expect a reason when it was her fear and disillusionment with her world that she stayed away from her own family for so long? "Who are your Pae'il friends?" she asks softly, getting down on her knees to be at Sereg and Maethor's eye level. Her left hand automatically reaches up to adjust where her quarterstaff normally would rest, her instincts not yet registering the fact that the quiver strapped to her back holds the weapon in its magically contained interdimensional space.

Casala takes that as her cue to quickly run her fingers through her hair, making a face at the snarls she finds, before stepping forward and bowing her head to those assembled. "I'm Casala. Eirnae is my mother, and so Shina is my older sister." She's learned that it's best to get that part out right away. It seems to lessen any confusion later. "Friend is also my sister." She looks over in the direction of the Care Pae, and adds a wave for Nessy as she walks up. "Greetings, miss!"

Friend offers Shiva her other hand, intent on helping the toddler to her feet with a smile. "Thank you. I like my flowers best," she confides as a golden star whirrs up to the pair, starting to rotate around Friend's head as if trying to give her a second halo. "Rua's here! Oh ... Who is that?" she asks as she looks over to Nessy. "Shiva's no bother, Miss Nessy." She says politely, retaining her smile. "Really." She turns to regard Shiva once more, whispering, "Your mommy is pretty, too. Lots of pretty folk are here today!"

"Nakia, it's great to .. Ack!" Ruathal wasn't ready to be pounced, and so it's only through instinctual reaction that his wings curl up and around him that they avoid getting smooshed when his back hits the ground. The same applies for how his arms go about Nakia, or at least he thinks that's what they are doing. Make that hopes they are doing, what with the thoughts that leaped into his head the moment he saw her. His face is currently buried, and he's not about to move it for fear of the location it'll turn up his face is buried at. A muffled, "Hello, Nakia," is afforded with as little lip movement as possible.

What was that? Casala turns slowly and manages not to blink at the sight of the three Elders just beyond the circle of gathered folk. She recognizes Polgara and offers a wave, but isn't quite sure how to address the others other than her generic, "Greetings."

Shina turns to look in the direction the three new presences emulate from, a respectful bow of her head followed with a greeting of her own. Friend, however, is far too busy with her new friend and that friend's mother to pay much attention to the Elders that have arrived.

Nessylove
Smiling in relief, she stepped back from her child, and moved up near the winged woman and naga. At seeing Shina's wings, she itched the spot between her shoulder blades where her own wings usually rested.

Clinging tight to Friend's hand, she smiled and inched over to where Sereg was hiding behind hiser mother. "Hiiiiiya! Cummon out and play wif us!" She tried to not freeze her body in excitement, which tended to happen, as she got closer to the shy toddler boy.

The girl wasn't too interested in her, so Shiva'd worry about her later.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
"Hello," Nyoka tells Sol when the embrace with her sister is concluded. "How are you?" she asks. She will make introductions later, as there are so many people here at the moment, and there are already people grouping off. . . .

She looks back at her sister. "Ah, they are . . . adopted children, I suppose. The girl is Maethor, and the boy is Sereg, if you can see him. . . ." she says, chuckling as she feels the little toddler grab her wings again. She has to lean back a bit so that he doesn't tear the membrane, making her look a little precarious.

When Shiva starts making her way toward Sereg, his eyes widen even more, and he tugs on Nyoka's wings harder, almost toppling her over. She hisses a little, her snakes turning to look down at Sereg and hiss warnings to him, while her eyes glow a faint green for a moment. "Sereg," she says, frowning.

Sereg instantly lets go of her wings, but pulls on her tail, trying to hide behind that.

"Ah, more to our family," Nyoka winks at Cass. "I'm Nyoka, Lenore's daughter. Shina is my sister, as well. Guess that makes us all one big, happy family," she says, laughing a little.

Maethor is sitting there, regarding everyone in a distant manner. "Loud," is the only comment she makes as she sits there. She shakes her head a little, and looks around at everyone, trying to take in all the details of their appearance.

Nakia giggles more, and plants her hands on either side of Ruathal. She pushes herself up, and says, "That tickles," before she gently wiggles out of his grip. "You look different. Spiffy, though," she says, winking, and starting to stand. She holds out her hand to Ruathal, while the other goes to try and straighten her hair. She glances over at Friend, remembering her comment. "Chest bumps? Oh! Yes, uhm, all of your more mature breed of women have breasts, varying sizes though."

Nyoka's eyes widen a little, before she casts a sidelong glance at Nakia.

"Oh, I must have said something inappropriate again. . . ." Nakia says, not in the least ashamed. "Anyway," she turns her dancing turquoise eyes back to Ruathal. "It's good to see you too!" she exclaims, wiggling her outsrtetched hand, as though to tell him to get off his bum and accept it already.

Pol hears Maethor and turns her head to look at her. "Oh my!" She squeals and quickly darts through the groups and kneels down, picking up the little girl and then sitting plops her on her knee, "And what is your name little one?" She giggled, beeping the little girl on the nose.

Hi just rolls his eyes and looks over to Sol. "There she goes again..." He grumbled and turned and looked towards the two stranger people, the Naga and the winged... Angel looking person. She didn't look like any elder he'd seen, and he assumed she was not. "Excuse me ladies, I fear we haven't met..." He said, taking a step towards them.

That left Sol to look to Nessy, but she seemed a little busy, so he was silent for a moment, just chuckling. It was great to see the Isle so lively.

Nessylove
Nessy felt someone watching her, and as the other two seemed to be engrossed in each other, she turned to look about the clearing. She saw a trio of Elders, one a lovely woman, and two men that looked similar to each other. The angelic one was watching her, but at least he looked friendly.

She was always nervous in big crowds, and Shiva could doubtless be safe in such a large group, so it was alright to move around. Her back itched like crazy, and she let her control go, wings growing and stretching as she walked towards him.

"Hello there..." she said tentatively.

A bit worried at Sereg's reaction towards her, she looked up at the naga in front of her. "'Scuze me, but canya please tell 'im I wanna be fwiends? I dun think he knows that." She smiled charmingly, and looked to Friend for help. "You wanna be his fwiend too, yeah?"

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar
"It's a pleasure to meet you both," Shina manages to get out before Polgara claims Maethor for her lap and 'beeps' her on the nose. Was that an accepted Pae'il greeting? "My, in all of my visits to the isle it's never been so busy," she comments, then peeking around Nyoka to get a better look at Sereg. She feels his trepidation and fear, and sympathy wells up in her heart. 'Poor dear must be terribly shy,' she thinks, scooting around to offers her open arms to the young Pae. She tries to make her voice soothing as she murmurs to him alone, "It's alright, little one. I won't hurt you. You can hide here with me." She smiles, carefully not showing teeth as that tends to alarm some.

With Hi's advance in her and Nyoka's direction, she looks up momentarily to offer the Elder an extension of her warm smile. "Forgive me for not getting to my feet, sir," she apologies, "I am Shina, and Nyoka is my sister." She indicates who she is referring to with a hand, the motion as graceful as if part of a dance. "Casala is also my sibling, as is Friend."

Casala does her bow yet again, letting this one serve for all of the Elders, as she's getting rather tired of bowing over and over again. She then turns to Shina to ask, "May I be excused, Shina? I really need to go searching ..."

"Stay a bit longer, please Cass?" Shina asks, not wanting her Pae sister to go charging off into trouble again. She did promise Eirnae that she'd keep an eye on her.

"Alright," Casala agrees reluctantly, moving a bit closer to Nyoka. "I'm glad to put a face to the name, Nyoka. Shina talks about you a lot, but she often doesn't include a description. Sometimes she refers to others by how they feel most of the time, too. I don't mind, though. It's just another way of seeing the world." She pauses before asking, "Is it true that you are the leader of a tribe of Amazons?"

How can he say anything with Nakia bouncing up like that? Trying not to stare, he accepts her hands but pushes himself up using his legs before she gets a chance to tug him up instead. "You're so ... It's been a long time, hasn't it?" he derails his first comment right before it would have gotten really akward. "I should of gone to see you sooner. I'll bet you haven't had someone to fluster since I last visited." Ah, he'd meant to say 'chase' or maybe 'tackle, not 'fluster'. Drat.

Friend followed after Shiva, rather having to with her hand as captured as it is, but not minding anyway. After all, a chance to make new friends should never be overlooked! "Yes, come and play!" she adds to Shiva's call, not noticing Shina's gentle appeal to Sereg to the other side of Nyoka's legs. She leans in to whisper to Shiva, "What are we playing again?" She blinks once at Shiva's question, then nods eagerly. "Certainly! I like to be friends with everyone!"

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Maethor's eyes widen a little as she is scooped in the air, and the faintest of frowns comes to her lips when her nose is 'beeped.' Her usually passive face is one of affront for a brief moment, before it relaxes again. She is, by no means, as jumpy as her brother, so she looks this very forward woman in the eyes, and says, "Mythur," totally butchering her name.

"My-thore," Nyoka offers, and snickers as her darling little girl is treated as just what she is: a child. She then turns her yellow-green, serpentine eyes toward the elder whom has spoken to them. She holds out her hand, ready to recieve his in a strong-gripped handshake. "No, I believe we have not had the pleasure. Shina already gave you my name," she says, smiling a bit, and flashing her snake fangs in the process. Per usual, her snakes her all over the place, trying to take in the scents of everyone with their tongues.

Sereg is still hiding behind Nyoka's tail, but he peeks out, his black nose wrinkling a little. He eyes them, a little distustful. He seems a very different person now, as he toddles from behind Nyoka's tail. He looks at everyone, silently, an hint of confidence that was not there before is around him now. "Sereg," is all he says.

At Cass's question, Nyoka looks a little uncomfortable. She never likes the subject of her role in her kingdom brought up, but she can't dance around it now. She merely taps her circlet, as though indicating her title, and says, "Yes, Casala. That I am," she says, offering her a smile as well.

Nakia giggles, almost wickedly, at Ruathal's slip. "Aw, Ruathal!" she says, throwing her arms around him again. "Aren't you just a cutie! I could eat you up right now!" she says, giving him a squeeze. "I don't mind, I know everyone has been busy. I missed you, though," her full lips turn into a pout. "You aren't going to stay away from me that long again, are you?" she asks him.

Torvil Rakamash
Hi bowed quickly and then took Nyoka's hand, "It is no worry miss," He smiled and straighted and then removed his hand from Nyoka's before bowing again. "I am Hi, Flame Warrior of the isle," He chuckled, and striaghted again. "I must apologize for my lack of proper attire, but I was training and we had a touch of an accident..."

Pol giggled at the little girl. "Well hello Maethor," She patted the little girls cheek and looked around. WHOA! A lot of people, and where were her manners. She stood up a moment, pulling the little girl pae close to her chest as she went work. "Six pack," She commanded, and then squeaked when a six pack of beer appeared. She quickly kicked it back toward Sol, boucing it off Hi's heel in the process, causing the flame warrior to bite his tongue in the presence of all the little ones. "oops!" She frowned and tried again. "Case of Soda," She commanded, and lo and behold, a case of soda apeared, and she opened the case and set it out for anyone to take before she sat again. "What would you like Maethor?" It had been so long since she'd held a child.

Sol smiled at Nessy. "Hello," He bowed his head. He stopped the six pack with his foot quickly as it bounced from Hi's heel, and he chuckled, shaking his head and eyeing Pol a moment as he slid the alcohal under a bush. "So what brings you to the Isle Miss?"

Nessylove
Supressing a laugh at Pol's antics, her eyes were sparkling green as she turned back to Sol. "My daughter...I found her in my bed one morning, frozen as an ice cube. She must have some telepathic ability, because after that I had no trouble finding my way here. Now I have my son Venedrian, who is a quirkly little demon." She was almost radiant when she spoke of her Pae children. They were her true joy. "I am correct, in assuming you are one of the Elders?"

Giggling happily, Shiva grabbed Sereg's hand and the three of them were linked. "Yay Saregg! Yay Fwiend! We're gonna play tag, okays? I'se it, and you wun!" Happy now that she had someone to play with, little icicles were forming on her metal hair rings, and the one on her tail. Her breath was clearly visible, even in the warm surroundings.

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar
Ah, well, that takes care of that, then. Shina flashes Shiva a grateful smile, even if Sereg had come out of his shyness on his own. She gets back to her feet in a fluid motion, then offering her hand to Hi much as Nyoka did. "A pleasure to meet you, Elder Hi." She keeps her palm tilted to the side, aiming to clasp Hi's forearm in the manner of greeting that she prefers. Eirnae informed her long ago that such is the greeting of one warrior to another. "I had not thought I would get a chance to speak with the Pae'il Elders. Each time I visit, they seem to be quite scarce." Her blue on blue eyes twinkle merrily, the first sign that she may be teasing.

Casala has to dodge the initial skittering of the six pack, her nose wrinkling up at the memory of Bellatrix's describing how such stuff tastes. She looks relieved when the case is tucked under a bush, but then decides that maybe that wouldn't be a good enough solution. Excusing herself, she moves about those gathered to get to the bush in question, peeking under it and whispering to the plant spirit she spies there. Soon enough, the case can be seen marching off in midair, heading off in the direction of the forest.

"Okay!" Friend chirps, pleased to be included. She knows this game well enough, having watched Mirim and Rua play it lots of times. "Where's home base? Um ... Is your mouth okay? Your breath is all funny." she asks with a blink. Now that's something she's never seen before.

"Hah! I bet you couldn't handle all of me, not even with the right sauce," he jests, not quite getting what Nakia might have meant from that. He whirls Nakia around in a tight circle, not wanting to jostle anyone nearby. "No. Never again, Nakia. I promise." He means it. His devotion to Shina as her companion is a great part of his existance, but Nakia is important too. He lets her go after a few spins, not wanting to get them both dizzy with something other than adrenaline. "Where have you been staying as of late?"

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Sereg quirks a brow, not quite understanding what she means. He is, however, intrigued by tghe icicles forming on Shive, and leans forward to touch one.

Nyoka laughs, and gestures to her own body. "There is no appology necessary, Hi," she says. "I, obviously, don't wear anything, so it is no skin off of my nose," she winks at him. "Flame Warrior, eh? I like to meet fellow warriors. Please," she says, gesturing to herself and Shina. "You must tell us of your training habits. . . ." She does, however, eye the beer, thinking it a waste for it all to be taken away.

Maethor blinks once at Pol, before saying, "Water," and offering her a smile that doesn't reach her eyes, more for show than to indicate she is happy over the offer.

Nakia snickers at Ruathal, and reaches out her hand to poke his nose. "I bet I could handle you," she says, winking at him again. "And, don't think I won't hold you to that promise, Ruathal. I expect to see much, much more of you. . . ." she pauses a moment, and gives him a half smile. "I have been in Greece, with Nyoka. I suppose I will have to take you there one day soon, so that you know where to reach me. How about you? Still at the manor?" she asks, tilting her head to the side.

Nessylove
On her back, Nessy felt a sudden cold breath and turned. She knew that feeling. She should, she felt it every morning when Shiva pounced on her. "Shiva!" she called out, her tone firm. "Calm down. You're freezing up." Giving a quick apologetic glance to Sol, she walked over and rubbed the icy Pae's skin vigorously to warm her. It was obvious what Shiva's power would be, when she grew into it.

A bit embarassed, Shiva pushed at Nessy. "Mama, stoppit. I'se ok!" Turning to Friend, she smiled. "S'ok, I gets cold when I get weally, super happy. Mama says it's my power, but I'unno what that is." Looking around, she spotted a big rock in the corner of the clearing. "That's base, oki?" She giggled and let go of her new friends' hands. "Now wun! I'se gunna catchya!"

Torvil Rakamash
Hi chuckled and bowed his head, "I trained with my master, Sol," He motioned with his hand over to Sol who was busily talking with Nessy, and mission his own shirt, though he was covered with his own robe, so his lack of top was less noticable. "He is the resident swordmaster of the isle, and I am learning all he is willing to teach me. We had a close call with our blades, we were sparring today," He chuckled. "His daughter was there to make sure we didn't kill ourselves." He chuckled at Shina and bowed. "Well... We are a bit sparse in our deployment..."

Pol giggled and held open her hand, "Glass of Water," She smiled, and then handed the full glass of water to Maethor. "You are such a little cutie, yes you are!" She giggled a lot more, and it went up both in volume and in pitch. "Oh I could just steal you!"

Sol laughed a little and bowed his head, "Guilty as charged," He smiled and waved his hand. "It is nice to meet a caretaker of some of the isle's denizens, I do hope they don't cause you any trouble."

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar

"Hee hee heee!"
Friend giggles, taking off for the rock at the fastest speed she can conjure. "C'mon! Let's run!" she squeals as she passes by Sereg, her wings trying to keep up with the pumping of her arms. She had paid Nessy's efforts no mind, as Shiva seems alright to her. Surely if something was wrong she'd be able to tell, right? Rua, the golden star, darts after Friend, though she's not quite able to keep up since she got a late start.

"I imagine such is a solution best served by time and growth," Shina replies once Hi has answered her initial question. "You both train in the sword, you say?" she asks, intriqued. "It's safe to venture a guess that staffwork is not a part of your repartoire?" She looks over to Nyoka with a slight smile. "Or archery, for that matter?"

Shina catches Polgara's higher pitched giggle, and has to refrain from grimacing. She had greatly disliked adults addressing her in such tones when she was younger. She can only imagine how Maethor is taking the noise.

Casala wanders back with a pleased smile on her face. The case should arrive at the temple, where she can dispose of its contents in a safe and well contained manner. Now, who should she go and talk to? Shina and Nyoka are busy, the other Pae'il are playing, and even the woman called Nessy seems to be occupied. Well, that's alright. She looks around for a more quiet area to wait out this social function at. With any luck, she'll find some spirits to talk to while everyone else is busy.

Ruathal's eyebrows both shoot up at Nakia's implications after her wink. He hadn't meant to inspire that, despite what certain parts of him are thinking. Swatting away such impure thoughts, 'We're amongst little ones, for Heaven's sake!', he focuses instead on relating where he's living. "For now, yes. I was staying with Shina at the cottage for a time. Then ..." Then the long sleep happened. Does Nakia even know about that? "I was out of it for a while. I don't recall much for a few months. Then I woke up, and we moved again to be back at the Haven's manor." He forces his eyebrows to come back down, not wanting to look like a startled deer in front of a huntress. "Greece, you say? I heard a bit about the tribe that Nyoka governs there. Are you sure they would welcome a visitor of my ilk?" He attempts a wicked grin and nails it.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Sereg watches as Friend runs off, and he looks at Shiva, throroughly confused. Why does he want to run? Is this supposed to be fun?

Frowning a little, he shrugs, and toddles a little, before he decides on crawling. He'll go away, if that is what the object of this game is. . . .

Maethor takes the glass of water into her hands, and just. . . . stares at Pol. She has no idea what is wrong with this woman. Does she think tha Maethor is slow, or is the woman slow? "Huh? Thank wu. . . ." she says, before taking a drink from the glass.

Nyoka glances over at Casala, and motions her over. She's heard of her from Bellatrix, and knows that she does some sort of training with her. So, she might be interested in the conversation. "Ah, I forgot to tell you, Shina! I have greatly improved my swordsmanship since last we spoke of training," she says, grinning. "I actuall knocked Iphigenia on her a-bum," she amends. She glances over at Sol, before returning her gaze to Hi. "Do you get to spar much? Iphigenia makes me do at least two hours a day. But, I can understand why she would want me to," she says, smiling a little. She's seen a bit of combat, and had to lead her own small army through a battle.

Nakia nods, and taps her temple. "I knew why you were missing, the moment Nyoka found out. But, I was worried when I hadn't seen you after you woke up," she says, brushing a bit of her hair out of her face.

She then grins just as wickedly as him. "Well, I don't know, Ruathal. . . . I think I can stop them from castrating you. . . ."

"Nakia!" Nyoka says, giving her another warning glance.

Nakia shrugs. "Guess I said another inappropriate thing," she says, the grin still on her lips. "I gotta learn how to stop that, don't I?"

Torvil Rakamash
Hi actually laughed at the coversation the two others off and a bit were having, shaking his head a little.

"Sol and I sometimes take days out of our weeks to spar, but usually we do four hour night sessions..." He shook his head and wiped his eyes quickly, to get rid of the laughter tears. He turned his attention to Shina and shook his head.

"I'm afraid not, Sol and I only know about swords... Pol there is good with a Dagger... But only at long range, she starts to lack when it's upclose and personal..." He chuckled and shook his hed. "But no, I've not really met anyone who doesn't use a blade here..."

Pol smiled at the young girl and her giggles started to subside. "You remind me of my son when he was little..." She smiles and gently runs her fingers through Maethor's hair. "Except he was a lot more vocal... and rude too, you are so well behaved, you must make your mommy proud!" And from the corner of her right eye, a tear began to fall.

Sol chuckled, "That is good then, I would hate to have a Pae'il give anyone any sort of trouble," He bowed and then turned around to dig in the bush... Then swore under his breath.

The beer was GONE!

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar
Friend turns her head to look in Sereg's direction, concerned that he might not be able to keep up. When she notices that he's crawling off, in the wrong direction no less, she swerves so she runs up to him. "No, no... Wrong way! C'mon, thisa way. Thisa way!" she hurriedly tries to explain, reaching forward to try and grab him about the waist with the intent of carrying him off to the rock. Crawling simply won't do if you're supposed to run!

At Nyoka's beckoning, Casala walks over with a question evident in her eyes. Did the tall woman want to talk to her about something? It's then that she catches the conversation about training, and she visibly brightens. She is content with listening in for now, but she's prepared to ask more questions if Shina doesn't speak up.

"I hope to meet this Iphigenia someday, especially if she's gotten you training so often." Shina replies with a quick grin. "Eirnae has me working with blades as well, though I still prefer my staff." She follows Nyoka's gaze to Hi and adds once Hi has answered herself and Nyoka once more. "While Nyoka and I may not live upon the isle, I know I'm here fairly often. Should you ever wish to learn what it is like to spar with a staff weilder, Elder, I will make myself available."

Oh ... A surge of loneliness wraps about Shina's heart, and she searches about for the source. It's from one of those she doesn't know well, she's sure of that much. It must be ... Yes, the woman with Maethor. Is that a tear she sees glittering from the corner of her eye? She doesn't wish to end her currently conversation, but this feeling runs deep and stirrs her own longing for those currently missing from her life. Focusing, she sends a rush of warmth in the direction of Polgara's emotional threads, infusing the web that makes up Polgara's mood with a gentle concern and love. She won't erase the feeling, as such would be meddlesome and wrong, but intends to let this woman know that she is not alone, and somewhere someone must love her dearly.

Ruathal isn't phased by the possible threat, though he's sure that Nakia is only joking. What kind of barbaric culture castrates any men that they come across? "Ah, I wasn't sure. Didn't want to worry you, after all." Like him not remembering several months of his life would ease up such worry? Heh, his thoughts are so muddled right now it's pathetic. "I could just sneak into the camp in my Tae form. I'll give whoever comes across me your 'I'm-cute-so-don't-hurt-me' look you used to do so well."

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Sereg frowns a little. Well, no one told him! Huffing, he allows himself to be picked up and carried. They should have been more clear on the rules, after all!

His tiny wings flutter against his toga as he is whisked away, content, for now, to be carried. He doesn't feel like walking, or crawling, anyway.

Maethor blinks, once, at the tear. Oh no. She bites back her sigh, and reaches up to pat Pol's cheek. Up until this point, she has kept her vocalization down to the bare minimum, but she doesn't want the insane woman crying. "Son still love. Never go away," she says, as though she knows anything about that sort of thing. She then looks away, and takes another drink from her glass of water.

"Ah, Iphigenia doesn't want me to die, I guess," Nyoka replies, smiling sheepishly.

She then nods at Shina's offer to Hi. "Same for me. I don't know if most of the Pae know each other, but there is a rather odd cave in one of the forests, I believe mum said it was the nicer one. Anyway, the cave is two stories, and my . . . sister lives there. Her name is Bellatrix. Should ever you wish to spar with either of us, she can get in touch with me easily. And, I need only reach out to Shina with my mind to tell her to meet me here," she says.

Nakia chuckles, and shakes her head. "I used to get you with that one, didn't I?" she asks. Then, she molds her face into just that expression.

It doesn't last too long, as she is soon grinning again. "Don't worry about it. They have to listen to Nyoka, so I just have to ask her to tell them to back off where you are concerned. . . ." she say. "Otherwise, they just might do something worse, epsecially if they weren't told by Nyoka that you are welcome there. . . . Ah, they don't like men overly-much. . . ." she shrugs. "Bu, like I said, you are safe," she adds, reaching out to take his hand in hers and give it a squeaze.

Another Growth-Spurt?!

It is the middle of the night. Nyoka is sleeping. . . .

. . . . Not as soundly as she was before. Slowly, her long lashes lift, affording her a slither of her surroundings.

Something very skeletal (and bloody?) is leaning over her. In her present state of half-awake, half-asleep, she cries out in alarm, and almost falls off of her bed.

Well, she is surely fully awake now! She steals another glance at the skeletal being, and sighs, relieved when she sees it is only Sereg. "You shouldn't be sneaking in my room, Sereg," she says, rubbing her eyes as the snakes in her hair settle into their sleep again.

Sereg pouts, and crawls across the bed to Nyoka. "I hurt," he says, putting his arms around her waist.

Nyoka blinks, her mind finally catching up to her. Something about him seems. . . . different. She brings her hand up to his snowy white hair, running her fingers through it, watching the blood red sparkling in it glitter in the silver moonlight filtering through her curtains.

"Honey, you don't feel like you have a temperature," she says, when she moves her other hand to feel his forehead. "Did you fall out of bed?"

Sereg shakes his head, before nuzzling his face into her stomach.

"Well, I can't help you feel better if you don't tell me how it happened, Sereg," she says.

Then, it hits her. Actually feeling relief again, she realizes that Sereg grew. "Where is your sister?"

"I here, Mamma," Maethor says, crawling onto the bed. Yes, Nyoka thinks, she has grown, as well.

"I hurt, too," Maethor declares, as she sits a little away from both Nyoka and Sereg.

"Well, it should go away in a bit," Nyoka says, softly. "Until then, you two can sleep in here with me. When you wake up in the morning, you both should be feeling better.

Maethor lies down right where she is. It doesn't take her long to fall back asleep. Sereg, on the other hand, is making it very hard for Nyoka to move back to her pillow.

Finally, she picks him up. Lying back down, she settles him down next to her again, and he is soon clinging to her. She resists the urge to roll her eyes, and waits for Sereg to fall asleep again. Once he does, she goes back to dreaming.

SharePae giggled to herself as she stuck the leaf/flag into the top of the crudely designed sand castle. Since her friends had left her to go on an adventure, she had no choice but to entertain herself on the beach. Spotting a crab, she hopped up and waddled after it. "COME HERE, FRIEND!!! I MADE A HOME TO SHARE WITH YOU!!!" The crab scuttled away from the little angel Pae as fast as he could, scared.

Into the hole the crustacian scrambled, its claws ready to pinch intruding purple fingers. "Come back here!!! I just want to share with you!!" The angel frowned, dropping to her knees and leaning forward to peer into the hole. "Everyone loves sharing..."

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
"Now, you two be good for me. I will be back soon, I promise," Nyoka says, the last more for Sereg's benefit than Maethor's. He is still an oddity to her. She doesn't know why she was blessed with such a mumma's boy! "Just think, you can make more friends!" The naga/gorgon Fa'e waves goodbye to the two Fae Pae, and then disappears.

Maethor looks around, no expression coming to her face. She picks up the sand and lets it run through her brown fingers. "Boring," she says.

Sereg, on the other hand, has spotted a purple thing a little off in the distance. Trembling, he hides behind Maethor. "Something there," he says, in a hushed voice. "Maethor stick with Sereg, so she can protect him."

The only sign that she is annoyed is the shaking of her head, her curls bouncing as she does so. "Mamma said to make friends, so you say 'hello' to it."

Sereg frowns. He doesn't want to make his mamma, or his sister, angry with him, or worse: have them disappointed. In a trembling voice, he calls, "Hello!" then ducks behind Maethor, fiddling with both of their simple togas.

HelMel
Just as the angel was getting dangerously close to a pinched nose, she heard a meek voice from down the beach. Leaning back on her haunches, the child turned her head to take a look at the origin of the greeting. Spotting two children, she hopped up, her face lighting with joy. "HI!!!" She sprinted wobbily toward them, sand falling from her body as she gained speed. "HIHIHI!!!" She slowed as she neared the two; they had glowey butterfly wings and one looked like a deer. The other was kinda scary to Share, but she was too nice to harbor mean thoughts for long. "Wanna lolli? Everyone loves lollies! Sharing is fun!!!" she asked, pulling two lollipops from the symbol on her tummy.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
"Maethor trick Sereg," he whispers. "She give us death on a stick!"

"Shut up," Maethor says, her voice monotonous. "Thank you," she replies, taking the lollies in her hand, and passing one to Sereg. "They're just lollypops. And, quit pulling on my toga, you are going to yank it off," she says, shoving her brother away from her. She studies the purple thing in front of her, her face never showing any flicker of emotion. She does wonder, however, if there is something wrog with the Pae. Maybe she was dropped on her head. . . .

"I'm Sereg. . . . sare-egg," Sereg pronunciated for the purple girl. People always get his name wrong, for some reason.

"Maethor," his sister says, to which earns another pronounciating lesson:

"My-thore," Sereg says, smiling, pleased with himself.

"You're such a moron," Maethor says, mildly, to her brother. His face immediately falls.

HelMel
"Why do you wear bedsheets? Are you trying to be ghosties? It's nice to meet you! I'm Share! I love to share!" She giggled and waved at them, pulling another lolli from her tummy and putting it into her mouth. "Mmm... lollies are the best sharing stuffs ever!!!"

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
"They're not bedsheets," Sereg says, and steps in front of his sister now. Apparently, the braver side of him is coming out now. He glances back at Maethor, whom is staring at the lolly in her hand. "They are togas. Very comfortable," he continues.

Maethor looks from the lolly, to Share's stomach. She isn't sure if she can trust something that came from a crazy persons's stomach. . . . She is about to say so, when Sereg just pops his in his mouth. She watches him, carefully, to see if he starts dying.

"Nice to meet you, too, Share," Sereg smiles slightly.

"Yes, nice to meet you," Maethor echoes, pulling the wrapper off of the lolly warily. Sereg hasn't died - yet. Perhaps it is slow acting? Or, it is just supposed to make you crazy?

Nessylove
Bouncing through, Shiva searched for Share, calling out her name. "Shaaaarreeee, where'd you run off to, Share?"

She came to a clearing around a big, beautiful lake, and saw her Care Pae friend standing near two Fae she'd met before. If only she could remember their names....

Sighing, she shook her head. Still a kid, couldn't remember a darn thing! Her little feet hopped into a run as she got closer, and smiled welcomingly.

"Hullo there!"

HelMel
"Hello, Shiva! Wanna lolli?" The angel asked while forming another one. She extended the candy to the ice child. "Togas? Why do you need them?" Share was very happily naked and didn't understand the want or need for clothing.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Sereg opens his mouth to say something, but then a familiar girl comes into view. Instinctively, he hides behind his sister again.

Maethor sighs, her face still stoic as always. "We wear them because we want to," she says, replacing the wrapper on her lolly and slipping it into a pocket hidden in the folds of her toga.

She looks at Shiva, and says, "I think I know you."

Nessylove
Popping the lolly into her mouth happily, she gave Share a quick little hug before nodding at Maethor, and moving to grab Sereg's hand to pull him back out.

"I think we met when you were with that pretty snake lady. Don't you live with her? And you're the shy one!" She smiled at Sereg, wanting to be his friend very badly.

"I'm Shiva, in case you forgot. I live with my mama, Nessy, kinda far from here."

HelMel
"DO YOU WANT TO SEE MY SAND CASTLE?!?!??!?!?!?!" The angel Pae hopped up and down excitedly and kicked up sand, adamant about showing them the lumpy castle whether they really wanted to or not. Grabbing at Shiva's and Sereg's wrists she attempted to pull the children down the beach, leaving Maethor to follow along if she so chose.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Sereg is successfully pulled from behind Maethor, if only because Maethor pushed him, as well.

He stands, a slight tremble running through his body, next to Shiva.

"He's not shy, he is a scaredy cat," Maethor informs Shiva. "Yes, she is out mamma, her name is Nyoka."

"We live in Greece," Sereg blurts out, staring dumbly at the hand that he was yanked out by.

He about jumps out of his skin when Share screams, and gives a shrill scream of his own when he is tugged on by the purple Pae.

Maethor's lip actually twitches with amusement, though she soon stomps that out. "Ok, Share," she says, and follows the trio.

Sereg shoots his sister a 'help me!' look, but she just stares blandly at him. He knows he is not going to get any help from her.

Nessylove
Happily she jogged with Share and Sereg to the sand castle. "Ooh, that's really pretty Share!" Lightly patting the sand next to the lumpy sand-mounds that was the "castle". She truly admired it.

"I can't make castles...the water always freezes." Sighing a little, blue eyes turned on Sereg. He looked kinda scared, and she didn't like that. Only Venedrian was the scary one in her family, he didn't need to be scared of her and Share.

"Don't worry. No bad things live around here, you're fine." A reassuring smile broke out, and she hoped it worked. Turning back towards Maethor, she waved her over.

HelMel
"Sand castles are very fun to make! That's not good. You should wear gloves when you build one or something! Gloves would help, right?" Turning to Sereg, she whispers, "Mister Crab likes to pinch with his thingies, so you should leave him alone... he tried to pinch my nosey." She makes a rudimentary crabclaw with her fingers to demonstrate the pinching. "DO YOU GUYS WANNA BUILD CASTLES TOO?" She giggled and flopped down in the sand. "They're really fun!"

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
"He's scared of everything, including you and Shae," Maethor says in her same, monotonous voice.

Sereg glares at Maethor. "I am not," he says, rather petulantly.

Maethor only shrugs, and watches her brother a moment.

It happens in an instant, the sugar from the lolly pop gets him. "SURE!" He cries. "Sand castles, here we come!" He plops right down next to Share, and tugs on Shiva this time. "Come on, we can make one that looks like the palace we live in!" he tells them.

Maethor blinks once, suddenly very happy that she never started eating the lollypop. She edges toward the lake, and gets in about knee deep. Descretely, she lets the lolly drop in the water, before returning to the others. "I think I will just watch," she says, eyeing her brother.

"Suit yourself!" Sereg says, giggling happily. "Mr. Crab sounds mean. You could always pinch him back!" He replies to Share.

kaliskanny
Pea wandered in carring Rachet and followed by Shiraz. He looked about, then motioned the child towards the sitting area. He sat the toddler down beside her, then went to find some food.

Shiraz giggled at the toddler, watching him crawl off the couch to explore. "You best not break nothin'."

Rachet glanced at her, then made his way to the nearest gizmo...a lamp. He pulled at the cord, trying to pullit off the table.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Nyoka is about to pull her hair out. Something has gone terribly, terribly wrong back at the kingdom. Nothing she can't handle, but it is become increasingly frustrating for her, and her nerves are raw.

Sereg is still wiping his eyes, trying to stop the tears from flowing over his muma yelling at him.

Maethor, as always, is presenting a completely emotionless face to the world.

"Look, Sereg, I am so sorry. Please, stop crying," Nyoka says, chewing on her black, lower lip as the snakes in her hair reach out to nuzzle against Sereg's cheek. "Muma will be back soon, and I promise to make it up to you. . . ."

Maethor snorts. "We will be fine, muma. Just go. Sereg is being ridiculous," she says.

Nyoka eyes her youngest "child," before nodding. She slithers out quickly.

Maethor grabs her brother's hand and walks toward the sounds of other Pae. "Quit being a baby," she says.

When she finds the other three, she pushes her brother forward.

Sereg's eyes widen, and he 'meep.'

kaliskanny
Pea noticed the others, but went on into the kitchen anyway. Looked like more mouths to feed.

Shiraz looked at the two other kids, blinking curiously. She waves a little. "Hello!"

Rachet glanced at them, then yanked the lamp off the table. He sighed with relief that it don't break, then pulled a screw driver out of his diaper and proceededto try and take it apart.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Maethor's usual stoic nature gives way when her brother hides behind her. Weeks of his nonsense finally build up, ans she turns around, and yells, "Quit acting like a baby! Can't you be polite for once in your life and stop acting like a sniveling coward?!"

With a deep breath, she turns her back on her stunned brother, and her face goes emotionless once more. "Hello," she says, in a flat voice, and walks further into the room to find a seat.

Sereg is left blinking after his sister. He is not used to having her yell at him like that! So, red as a beat, he nods to the Pae that said hello, and follows his sister.

kaliskanny
Shiraz blinked atthe other girl, then smiled. "I'm Shiraz...who are you?"

She pointed at the toddler that was busy taking the lamp apart, "That's Rachet. He's a pest."

Rachet glanced over, then went back to disasembling the lamp. He muttered something, then giggled quietly.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
"Maethor," she says. She points to her brother, and adds, "That's Sereg."

Sereg's fiery eyes glance between Maethor and Shiraz. In a meek, trembling voice, he says, "Nice to meet you, Shiraz. And . . . Ratchet."

Maethor turns disinterested, light-orange eyes to look at Ratchet, before she turns her gaze to looking around the room. "Is he your younger brother?" she asks, indicating Ratchet. "Because, I know how you feel when you say 'pest.'"

Sereg seems to shrink in his seat, and pouts a little, his transparent wings fluttering.

kaliskanny
"Yeah...just adopted. He keeps taking things apart....and trying to build other things with them. I dunno. He's wierd," Shiraz snickered, leaning her cheeks on her hands. "My big brother is in the kitchen trying to make some food. He doesn't talk..."

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Maethor is about to say that her older brother sounds like a decent person, but that might sound a little rude. If anything has been beaten into her from the time of her birth, it is the fact that you must always be polite. Even if she does rather like silence.

Maethor sits back in her seat, and glances over at Ratchet once more. "He sounds. . . irritating."

Sereg sighs, knowing he is going to be ignored by his sister, at least, for the time being. That's how she usually reacts to him annoying her, at any rate. But, this is new. He's never seen her yell in his life, so he needs to play this one by ear. . . .

"I don't think it is irritating," he says, in a meek voice. "I think he sounds. . . . intelligent. I definitely couldn't make things from parts of other things."

Maethor glances at her brother, not saying anything. At least he is talking. The coward. . . .

kaliskanny
"Ask him what he's trying to make..." Shiraz sighed, then looked down at her sparkly toes. She looked at Maethor, "Where do you two live?"

Rachet looked back at the other two, considering them a moment. He looked athis screwdriver, then went back to the lamp. He wanted the insides of it...not the vase looking thing.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Maethor isn't the least interested in finding out what Ratchet is making. But, Sereg on the other hand. . . .

"Ratchet," he says in a more confident voice, even if he is unsure as to whether or not one so young will reply. "What are you trying to make?"

Maethor is secretly pleased that the 'better' brother is present right now. She doesn't like when her brother acts like he is scared of everything. She only respects those that don't wear their fears on their sleeves. . . . She looks up at Shiraz, and says, "We live in a palace in Greece. Where do you three live?"

kaliskanny
"We live in a boken down space ship. It's alright....sometimes," Shriaz sighed, then looked a little confused. "Greece.....I bet it's nice..."

Rachet blinked, then looked up. He gave Sereg a look as if he should already know, then went back to work. He only muttered one word. "Ka-boom."

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Maethor searches her brain for an adequate picture for a space ship. Her muma is a big movie fan, and she filters through "Galaxy Quest," "Independence Day," and a ton of other sci-fi movies that deal with space that she has watched with her muma. She finally nods. "Is the space ship in space, or grounded?" she asks.

Sereg blinks at Ratchet. "Something that goes . . . ka-boom? You mean a bomb or some sort of explosive?" he asks, keenly interested now.

kaliskanny
Rachet just giggled, pulling the inards of the lamp from the cermaic container. He wasn't about to give things away.

"It's grounded. It crashed last time she landed...something about not eating pizza and trying to drive," the child shrugged, then smiled. "It's still got this room where you push a button and float."

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Sereg blinks, and watches Ratchet, intently. Maybe he will learn a thing or two? Not that he would know where to use a bomb or any such thing. . . . The Amazons already look regard him warily, he isn't about to give them another reason to do so. . . .

Maethor nods. "That room sounds like fun," she says, in a way that may sound as though she has no idea what 'fun' is. "Is the ship being repaired? Of, are you all just going to be forced to live in a grounded space ship the rest of your life?" Obviously, this has caught some of Maethor's interest.

kaliskanny
"I think she's trying to repair it...but she gets distracted easily...so not much repairing happens," Shiraz giggled. She watched the other girl curiously. "Do you ever smile?"

Rachet blinked, looking up at the boy watching him. He frowned, then managed to finish removing what he needed from the lamp. He put the screwdriver away, then looked at Sereg again. "Wha?"

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Maethor blinks only once at Shiraz's question. What a silly thing to ask. . . . "I see no reason to smile," she replies. "Why?" she can't help but ask.

Sereg quirks a brow. "Nothing. Just curious, that's all. Am I bothering you?"

kaliskanny
"No." Rachet shrugs, looking the room over to find more parts.

"I don't know. You just seem...like you need to have some fun," she shrugged, looking at her toes again.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Maethor shakes her head slightly. "I do have fun, I just really see no reason to ever smile," she says, wondering why smiling and fun are considered things to go hand in hand with one another.

Sereg glances toward the kitchen. He stands, and walks over to Ratchet, and kneels down when he is close enough to him. "There are appliances in the kitchen. I can help you get to them. . . . We just have to get around the blue Pae I saw walking in there," he tells Ratchet, in a conspiritorial whisper.

kaliskanny
"I broked cooking stuff at home...and blue guy is Pea," Rachet nods, looking at the other one. He points to to another lamp on a higher shelf. "I need wire..."

"I dunno...smiling shows people you're having fun. Kali always says 'Smile. It makes people wonder.' So...I try to smile," Shiraz grinned widely, kicking her feet a little.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Sereg nods, and stands on his tip-toes. He pulls down the lamp, and puts it on the floor next to Ratchet. "What are you going to do with this one? You're going to take all of the stuff out of this one, as well?"

Maethor nods. "To each their own," she says. "Unless I hit you, or something along those lines, assume I am having fun," she adds, pushing her bangs out of her face.

kaliskanny
"You'd hit me?" Shiraz looks at the other girl, tilting her head and looking shocked.

"Yes and no. I needs the wires," Rachet explained, pulling out the screwdriver again. He set to work on the lamp, secretly glad he had a little help in gettign stuff.

Lenore Slytherin-Natenhar
Maethor shrugs. "I would hit anyone," she says. "If they actually annoyed me enough, which is pretty hard to do, I suppose. . . ."

Sereg sits down on the floor, and nods to Ratchet, watching him work on the lamp again.
